====================================
“It’s ok… we’re almost there Naruto… just hang on…” Kakashi kept saying to the bleeding boy on his back.
“Kakashi-sensei… I’m sorry.”
“Shh… don’t try to talk Naruto. Save your strength.”
Kakashi somehow forced himself to run even faster than he was. The chakra he was forcing out of his feet to increase his speed was leaving a burned trail through brush as he rocketed himself and the wounded boy through the woods.
“Faster… must go faster… just hold on Naruto…” he thought to himself. He sighed in relief as he saw the gates come into view. He never missed a step as he propelled himself and the injured blonde over the wall in a mad dash to the hospital. The doors blew open from the wind he had pushed in front of him at such speeds; some people swore there was a sonic boom that echoed through the town.
“Shizune-san!” Kakashi yelled as he walked up to the girl.
“Oh no… Naruto!” she grabbed a wheeled stretcher and had Kakashi place the boy on it. As she started to wheel him into a room she called to a nearby nurse. “Get Tsunade-sama!”
Moments later the Hokage of Konoha came into the room that held the battered body of the “annoying brat” she was so fond of. She checked him and found that he had several broken bones, but nothing life-threatening. She noticed a large scab on his chest as well.
“I guess Kyuubi is taking care of the more serious wounds first. Good. I’ve used too much chakra to help much,” she thought to herself. She used the remaining power she had to heal deep cuts and gashes, knowing she didn’t have to strength left to heal broken bones. By the time she was through the scab had fallen off, and revealed slightly pink skin, a sign that it was new. When she looked at her surroundings, she noticed that the boy’s teammate Sakura had come into the room and was standing by Kakashi. They were both anxious to hear about the boy’s condition. Sakura was also obviously amazed at how quickly such a large wound had healed.
“Oh well. I’ll just tell her it was an old injury that was nearly healed when he left,” Tsunade thought. She looked over to the blood-covered Kakashi and mentally slapped herself. “DAMNIT! So much for that idea. Hmm… I’ll tell her he has a special ability or something… like a bloodline… yeah, that’s what I’ll do…”
“He’s fine now. Well, mostly. He still has some broken bones, but they aren’t dangerous, and I just don’t have any chakra left,” she said to the pair.
“That’s good to hear,” Kakashi sighed. Tsunade noticed that for once he wasn’t reading his perverted book.
“Yeah… Hokage-sama, how did that wound on his chest heal so quickly? It was bleeding terribly when I first got here…” Sakura said. “Oh, she was here longer than I thought,” Tsunade said to herself. She was glad to see the girl seemed to care about Naruto.
“Well, Sakura, Naruto has a bloodline limit that does that.”
“Huh? A bloodline?”
“Yes. It’s a rare ability, but it gives Naruto the power to heal at an amazing rate.”
“But Hokage-sama! That wound was horrible! Even with that ability… how could he survive that?”
“Well, the power is truly amazing. Actually, some people have said that someone with this power can only be killed by drastic means like decapitation. Granted, I think that’s an exaggeration, but still, it is very powerful.”
“Apparently… I’m glad,” Sakura finally relented. “I’m sorry Naruto… I never meant for you to get hurt,” she thought to herself.
“Ok you two. He needs his rest. You can come back and see him tomorrow.”
With one last glance a piece and a collective nod, Kakashi and Sakura left the unconscious boy’s room.

< br> It was quiet in the room when he awoke. The only sounds he knew he heard were the beeps of his monitors. But he was sure he… wait, there it was again… He could hear muffled footsteps. He tried to look around, but he was still not recovered from his battle earlier with Sasuke. That’s when he felt someone near him.
“So, this is the demon that ran off the Uchiha huh?” one voice said.
“Yeah. I heard he had tried to kill the guy, so he ran away. Then demon boy here went after him and got his ass kicked,” a second voice finished with a snicker.
“So how are we going to do this? We can’t just walk out of here with him.”
“Nope. Not the plan. Everyone is waiting in the street,” the man said as he went to the window.
“What are they doing?” Naruto thought. He heard the window open, then felt himself being picked up. He winced as he felt needles either break off in him or rip out of his flesh as he was carried away. He wanted to yell, he wanted to fight back, but he could barely even open his eyes. All grogginess he had was soon ejected from his body however, as he felt himself being thrown out of his fourth story window. His eyes flew open to watch himself fall toward the ground. He tried to right himself and make a safer landing, but it was to no avail. He coughed out some blood after he felt more of his bones break at the impact. He finally managed to push himself up to his knees with his one good arm and looked at the scene in front of him. There were at least 20 people in front of him, all of them radiating hate. Several were ninja, there was even an ANBU there. Normally he wouldn’t have given this much thought, but in his current state, there was nothing he could do no matter what happened.
That’s when something hit him. He felt a surge of pain course through his body as he looked down at his leg and saw a kunai lodged in his thigh. He tried to scream, but all he managed was to whimper like a dog someone had just kicked. Several more things were thrown at him, rocks, shuriken, kunai, anything people could throw at him they did. Before long they started shouting at him as well.
“Demon!”
“You’ll pay for what you did to the Uchiha boy!”
“Stop…” Naruto whispered.
“We should have done this long ago!”
“Stop! Please!” he begged as more pain shot through him.
“Shut up! Begging won’t help!”
“PLEASE STOP!” Naruto yelled as he grabbed his head. “I can’t control him like this!”
This continued for what seemed like hours, though Naruto was sure it was only a few minutes. He was jerked from his daze when he saw the ANBU draw his sword.
“Your life has been too long demon. NOW DIE!” the ANBU yelled as he charged at him. Naruto couldn’t do anything but sit there. He waited for his death. He was sure it would happen now. The fox wasn’t healing him right now, he would be able to feel it if he was. He kept clutching his head, begging them to stop. He knew he wouldn’t be able to hold his “tenant” back right now if he tried anything. He felt the sword stab into his chest and he fell to the side. He thought it would hurt much more than this as he started to close his eyes. He felt a familiar presence land in front of him, and with his last bit of strength he looked up to see Tsunade there. He could hear her yelling, but couldn’t make out what she was saying. He smiled to himself before he closed his eyes to enter oblivion.

The afterlife wasn’t how he imagined it. It looked like a sewer. He was standing in water, and there were pipes all around him. “Wait a minute… damnit. Not this place,” he thought to himself recognizing where he was. He walked as he had before down the tunnel, until he came to a large open gate. “WHAT!” he yelled.
“That’s right brat!” Naruto turned to see the gigantic fox sitting behind him. “It seems the tables have turned. There is no way you can hold me back now!” he yelled as he threw Naruto toward the gates. Once he was inside, Kyuubi slammed the great gates shut to keep him there. He chanted a few syllables in a language Naruto didn’t understand, and not only did the bars shrink to the point that Naruto couldn’t escape, but the seal formed again to hold them tightly shut.

< br> “NOOO!” Naruto yelled in his mind and in reality. The Hokage turned to see Naruto’s shaking mass as he looked like he was trying to crush his own skull. “I-I CAN’T CONTROL HIM ANYMORE!”
Everyone flinched at the boy’s words, then jumped back as a massive demonic chakra burst from his body. Tsunade, since she was the closest could hear bones snapping in his body as it grew and started to stand. As he stood he pulled the sword out of his chest and waited for it to heal. The whole healing process took less than a second. The fox took a long deep breath.
“Ahh… free at last.” He closed his eyes as he spoke, and everyone started to size up the monster in front of them. He was standing over two meters tall (roughly 7 feet three inches) and had the muscle structure of a world class body builder. He had ripped through most of his clothing as he grew, and in the end was wearing a pair of shredded shorts that used to be his orange pants. He was still humanoid, but that didn’t make him look any less intimidating. His ears had become long and pointed and fur had grown over his whole body. He grew a snout like a canine and the fangs to match. Finally he now had two-inch claws that were shining in the moonlight and nine tails flailing behind his back.
“I should really thank you all. If you hadn’t weakened the boy for me I never would have been set free.”
“W-What are you talking about!” the ANBU asked.
“You didn’t really think all that held me in place was a simple seal did you? It was this boy’s will that powered the seal. But, since you were kind enough to take care of that for me, I thank you. You were even able to weaken his will enough to let me seal him in the same prison I had to endure for so long. As a gift of thanks, I will give you the honor of being the first to die by my hands!”
Tsunade had been in another world while this conversation took place. She already knew how the seal worked, so it was no surprise to her. She was terrified at the thought that she might have to kill the blonde she had grown to care for so much over the last several months. She had actually entertained the thought of just letting him kill these people after what they had done to him. However, when she heard the fox say he had sealed Naruto away, and that these people would be the first to die by his hands, meaning he had no plans to stop, she made up her mind. She knew Naruto wouldn’t want her to let the fox harm any of his precious people that lived here. He would want her to stop the demon, even if the cost was his life.
She moved and stood between the Kyuubi and the crowd. “I can’t let you harm the people of this village Kyuubi!”
“And what will you do to stop me woman?” he asked with a snicker. He was answered by a bone shattering punch to his jaw. His grinned as the woman’s eyes widened and she let out a scream cradling her now-shattered hand. He lifted her up with one hand and tossed her to the side. “I promised these fools they would be the first to die, so I will deal with you later,” he sneered as he approached the crowd.

Across town the eruption of chakra had not been missed by a certain silver-haired genius ninja or his subordinate. They were currently finishing dinner at their injured teammate’s home away from home to honor him in their own small way.
“Kakashi-sensei, what was that?” Sakura asked.
“I’m not sure Sakura,” he lied. He knew that chakra better than anyone else. “I’m going to go see what’s going on. You should go on home.”
“B-But I…”
“No buts Sakura,” he interrupted. “Go home.” Without another word he disappeared.
“Well, he didn’t say I had to go home right now…” she said with a grin. She left money on the counter and took off in the direction the chakra had come from.

< br> “Hmm… you first,” the Kyuubi said as he swung the ANBU’s own sword at him. It was fast as lightning, the ANBU couldn’t do anything but stand there and fall neatly in half after the blow. Not stopping the beast plunged his clawed hand through another person’s chest and tore out their heart. In a vile display he brought it to his nose and sniffed it. “It’s been too long since I’ve been able to enjoy a moment like this,” he said as he watched the man gripping the hole in his chest fall over to die. After one more sniff of the fresh organ he brought it to his mouth and liked it a few times, like a dog with a fresh piece of meat. After he was satisfied he looked up at everyone’s horrified faces and dropped the man’s heart on the ground. “Hmm, I wonder how many I can get in one swing?” Kyuubi asked aloud as he examined the sword in his hand. Before anyone could react he had disappeared, and everyone heard the disgusting sound of slicing live meat. Several people felt pain as well as heard the sound. In the end, four people had fallen to the ground when Kyuubi reappeared.
“This is a bit short. I’m used to a no-dachi,” he said offhand. “Oh well.” He charged another villager and thrust the sword forward. At the last second, someone had appeared and blocked the katana with one of their own. The beast looked up with a disappointed expression. He found himself being stared at by a glazed over eye, like someone was about to cry, while the other was a bright red with three black marks around the pupil.
“YOOUUUU…” the Kyuubi drawled out.
“It’s been a long time Kyuubi,” Kakashi answered.
“You were the one that helped that bastard imprison me. I’ll kill you!”
“Don’t just talk about it…” the man spat. “I have to buy some time to think of something… Jiraiya-sama won’t be back until tomorrow, so no help there. Tsunade-sama has a broken hand, so until that is healed she can’t help much. Damnit Gai, the one time I wish you were around and you’re not here!” The two sword-wielders vanished, only allowing people to hear their fight. Swords clashed and taijutsu blows were exchanged for several minutes.
“Well, at least he’s weakened in this form. I just hope I’ll be enough until someone else shows up,” Kakashi thought to himself. He sighed inwardly as he realized that, aside from Gai, Tsunade, and Jiraiya, no one else would be able to help. He and his self-proclaimed ‘eternal rival’ were the strongest ninjas in the village aside from the two Sannin. Since Tsunade was injured, and the other two weren’t here, he knew he was on his own.
For the next five minutes the fight continued at an amazing pace. Every blow, every slash of the sword was expertly dodged or blocked. Neither of them tried to use a jutsu, knowing that as soon as they began there would be more than enough time for their opponent to strike them down. It continued this way until Kakashi finally saw an opening. Wasting no time, he acted.
“CHIDORI!” he yelled as his hand was surrounded by crackling energy. He charged at the demon in front of him and hit his heart with expert accuracy. He didn’t really expect to kill the great demon with this move, considering that Naruto had survived it. He did however think that the Kyuubi might be slowed down enough to give Kakashi the advantage. He was wrong.
The fox grinned at the masked ninja and grabbed the arm that was still rammed through his chest. He pulled it out of himself and stabbed Kakashi’s other arm with his sword. After a scream Kakashi dropped the sword in his hand. Kyuubi had now completely drawn the ninja’s arm out of himself, and held it with an iron grip. After flashing a sadistic grin he stabbed this arm as well and twisted his blade in the man’s bicep.
“KYUUBI STOP THIS!” Tsunade screamed as she made her way over to the pair. Her useless hand was dangling at her side. Several more ninja had shown up by this point, however none were medical ninja, and they all knew if Kakashi and Tsunade couldn’t defeat this… thing in front of them then they would do little more than get in the way.
“But it’s so much fun! I haven’t been able to kill in years!” he said with a sick grin. “(sniff sniff) Hmm… smells like something sweet is coming this way…” he said as he looked down the street. Soon the form of a certain pink haired kunoichi came around the corner and into view. “Oohhh… that’s the girl this boy cares so much for… perfect,” he said with an evil glint in his eye.
“No…” Kakashi and Tsunade thought. “Sakura! RUN!” they both yelled. She was less than a hundred feet away from them at this point, and the Kyuubi took off after her. The two that yelled at her followed as quickly as they could after the demon. Tsunade picked up Kakashi’s sword and Kakashi charged a chidori in each hand as they ran toward the beast.
“Naruto! If you can hear me in there, I’m sorry… and I love you!” Tsunade screamed with tears in her eyes. Kakashi didn’t say anything, since it was taking his full concentration to prepare to use his second original technique. He had only used this technique once, and vowed he would only do it when there was no other choice.
“Did she just say Naruto?” Sakura asked in her mind as she looked with terrified eyes at the monster charging toward her.
Tsunade arrived first at the back of their target. She swung the sword at his neck with all the might she could muster with her off-hand. It dug into the demon’s neck but stopped at his spine. She couldn’t force it through the bone with her weak hand. The demon let out a roar of pain then turned and knocked the woman away. She slammed head first into a building and landed on her back. Before continuing he reached up and pulled the sword from his neck.
This brief pause in movement was all that Kakashi needed. Kakashi yelled as he charged the fox. As he got closer, a bolt of energy from each chidori connected in the middle forming a third. At the moment before impact, he brought his two hands closer, bringing the three separate balls of energy together into one gigantic one, ending up the size of a basketball. “CHIDORI KINJUTSU: OIUCHI! (chidori forbidden technique: final blow)” he yelled as he shoved the ball of destruction toward his opponent. He finally spoke, “Naruto, I’m sorry, but I know this is what you would want.”
Sakura, now only about 10 feet in front of Kyuubi found herself covered in his blood. She backed away in shock as she realized that for the second time, someone had called this thing Naruto. When the flash was over and the smoke cleared, it revealed a panting Kakashi standing over the fallen beast. The fox had a hole blown all the way through him that a human being could crawl through. Kakashi had aimed in the center of the creature’s main body, so most of his organs were either destroyed or laying on the ground in front of him. If the ball of energy had been much wider, the demon would have been cut in half. There were now about three inches of flesh on either side keeping him together. Kakashi let his tears fall now, and he and Tsunade walked toward a terrified Sakura. Both of them were crying about having to kill the blonde and weren’t trying to hide it. Kakashi kept walking toward his student as Tsunade turned to the crowd. Sakura had stopped moving back about thirty feet from the Kyuubi.
Some ANBU and other ninjas had arrived during the fight to try and help, but realized they would only get in the way. Tsunade noticed most of the people that had newly arrived seemed to be saddened as well. The ANBU had taken off their masks and lowered their hoods in respect. The jounins Asuma, Kurenai, Ebisu, Hiashi, and Ibiki bowed their heads in respect as well. She was most shocked to see some of the younger generation here. Shikamaru and Ino had come down from Chouji’s room. Hinata was here checking on Neji, and Tenten had come with her. Most of the younger ninja looked as confused as Sakura. “It’s ok to tell them now,” she said to the adults. They glanced at her, and she nodded back at them. The jounins led the rest of the younger generation, with the exception of Sakura, off to explain Naruto’s origin.
After a quick grateful smile, she turned to the group she was less happy with. “ARE YOU BASTARDS HAPPY NOW! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED!” she screamed through her tears as she pointed toward the body on the ground. No one answered. She looked at the ANBU that had arrived during the fight. “Take everyone in that crowd to prison. I’ll decide what to do with them later. Let their families come see them as much as they want since they’ll probably be executed.” With a nod the group of unmasked ANBU roughly started to lead the group away.
While this was happening, Kakashi was consoling what he sadly realized was his last student. He saw she was in tears, and sat beside her. After a moment of crying she spoke through her sobs.
“K-Kakashi-sensei… why did you call that Naruto?” she asked. Having just heard Tsunade say it was ok to tell, he started to explain things to Sakura.
“Sakura, you remember the Kyuubi you learned about in the academy right?” She nodded. “Well, the fourth couldn’t beat it in a battle to the death, since the demon was nearly invincible. The only option he had was to seal it away in something. He knew that if he sealed it into an object someone could release it one day, so he sealed it into a child… he sealed it into Naruto.”
At this point Tsunade had checked for any life signs from the beast and made her way over to sit beside the two conversing teammates.
“Why?”
“Because. If he sealed it into a person, he believed that when the person died he would take Kyuubi with him. He thought that Naruto would be helped to carry such a burden, but people held him responsible for what the Kyuubi did,” Tsunade answered.
Suddenly a lot of things made sense to Sakura. She realized that this is why people were so cold to Naruto. This is why her mother had thrown a fit when she found out she was on his team. She cursed at herself for being so mean to him all the time, pushing him aside for Sasuke. She knew it must have hurt him more than she had imagined. Being alone for so long, isolated from everyone, it would almost be worse than death. That’s when she had a thought.
“What did you mean when you said that is what Naruto would want? You mean he wanted to die?”
“No, that’s not it. Naruto loved life, even though he was treated the way he was. He always held out hope that one day everyone’s opinion of him would change,” Kakashi answered.
“Then what did you mean?”
“How well did you know Naruto, Sakura?” The girl looked more broken by the question. “I see. Well, you know he had feelings for you right?” She nodded this time. “Well, it was more than that. Me, you, Sasuke, and Iruka were the first friends Naruto ever had. He would have done anything for any of us, but you were different. Every time you smiled at him it was like he was a kid getting a Christmas present. You were his strength. If it hadn’t been for you he could never have beaten Gaara, and he wouldn’t have been able to fight so hard to bring Sasuke back. We said what we did, because Naruto would want you safe no matter what… even if it cost his life.”
“Why? Why did he… for me?” she stuttered between sobs.
“Because the fool loved you…” came a response from a familiar and terrifying voice.
Everyone turned to see the Kyuubi getting to his feet with a sword in his hand. They were horrified as they saw the hole in him closing up.
“WHAT! How did you! I MADE SURE YOU WERE DEAD!” Tsunade screamed.
“Just like I knew you would. I couldn’t have you finding out I was alive before I could heal. So I used a technique to fake death and waited for you to move away. And, now that you two are too weak to do anything against me, I think I’ll get back to what I was doing!” he said as he charged. The 30 foot gap between them was closed in an instant. Kakashi and Tsunade were on their feet in a flash determined to protect Sakura for Naruto. However, as weakened by the previous fight as they were, Kyuubi knocked them both away with one swing of the sword. Kakashi had moved in front of the unarmed Hokage and blocked the blade with a kunai, but the force behind the blow sent them both flying away. When they landed they were barely conscious, and could do little more than watch what the Kyuubi was about to do.
“You’ve caused a lot of trouble for me you little bitch…” Kyuubi snarled at Sakura. He raised his sword for a killing blow. “NOW DIE!”
“SAKURA!” Kakashi yelled.
Knowing she couldn’t do anything, she turned her head and closed her eyes to wait on her death. She felt the wind off his strike as it came down, but the pain never came.
“RASENGAN!” She heard in a familiar voice. She opened her eyes when she heard the voice of the demon letting out a roar of pain. The first thing she noticed was the sword that was stuck in a building on the side of the street she was facing. The second thing was the gigantic fur-covered arm hanging from it. When she saw the amazed looks on Kakashi and Tsunade’s faces, she turned to look at her savior.
She looked, but it just made her more confused. There was the Kyuubi, one arm short standing in front of her.
“You won’t dare lay a hand on her you bastard!” she heard that voice say again. She was shocked when she realized it came from the monster trying to kill her. She looked up and saw that on the side of the body that still had the arm, the left side, the creature’s eye was a familiar blue while the other one was still red. “I’LL KILL YOU BEFORE YOU HURT HER!” the demon screamed in Naruto’s voice as a huge blue orb formed in his hand.
Tsunade and Kakashi were speechless. A moment ago, Naruto had apparently taken over half of the body, and had blown the other half’s arm off with a rasengan before it could strike Sakura. Now, not only was there another rasengan forming, but it was several times the normal size of the attack, about the size of a volleyball. The shock of it all had them forgetting about their injuries and exhaustion for the most part, and the two of them were on their feet to watch with tears of joy in their eyes.
“You can’t beat me brat. It’s not possible for a human to beat the great Kyuubi!” he ended with a sinister laugh.
“The Fourth beat you!”
“He didn’t beat me! He just found a way to avoid the fight temporarily! Besides, I’m alive and he’s dead!” Everyone’s head was getting a bit mixed up hearing both halves of a conversation coming from one body, but they tried their best to pay attention. The one thing they were sure of however, was that during the talking, the creature had grown a new arm to replace its old one.
“THEN I GUESS I’LL HAVE TO FINISH WHAT HE STARTED! NOW GET AWAY FROM SAKURA-CHAN!” the beast yelled. Moments later the huge ball of blue energy plunged into its own gut. Not being able to be blown back from the attack like most of its victims, the huge demon was blown cleanly in half at its waist. Its upper body stopped after crashing into a nearby building.
“WE CAN DO THIS ALL DAY HUMAN! I’LL KEEP GETTING BACK UP!” Kyuubi yelled as the rest of his body began to grow back once more.
“WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT! RASENGAN!” he yelled as his body was blasted again, being blown further into the building.
“How does Naruto have so much chakra without the Kyuubi?” Kakashi asked aloud to no one in particular.
“The seal…” Tsunade said so only she and Kakashi could hear.
“What about it Tsunade-sama?” Kakashi asked in an equally hushed tone.
“The seal the Fourth used had two purposes. One was to trap the demon’s consciousness and power, the second was to regulate how much power could get through. It was made so that only so much of the Kyuubi’s chakra could come out at a time unless Naruto overrode the seal and forced more through. He did it that way to keep Kyuubi from killing Naruto with a chakra overload.”
“But the seal was broken, so what does this have to do with anything?”
“The seal wasn’t broken. The fact that he is only this strong is proof of that. The Kyuubi wasn’t completely right. Naruto’s will did keep Kyuubi imprisoned, but only his consciousness. The seal itself regulated the demon’s chakra as default.”
“Ok… so what does all that mean?” Kakashi asked. He was getting a headache. He was sure it was mainly due to getting the crap kicked out of him and using almost all his chakra, but having to think wasn’t going to help matters.
“It means that when Kyuubi escaped he could only take so much of his chakra with him. To get it all he would have had to leave the seal open. But, he said he sealed Naruto where he was imprisoned. That puts Naruto on the other side of the buffer. Which means…”
“Naruto has access to all his power,” Kakashi finished.
“And he can absorb it and convert it to his own. Let’s just hope Kyuubi doesn’t figure it out until it’s too late.”
“So how much longer do you intend to keep this up human? No matter how many times you do that I will keep getting up!”
“Maybe… but it’s keeping you away from everyone!” Naruto yelled as he began forming another rasengan. He didn’t talk before he hit the demon with this one. Just like every time before, the monster began to regenerate. “Good,” Naruto thought. “One more should do it. After that he’ll be too weak to stop me.” He thought as the ball formed in his hand again. This time, the Kyuubi was ready for him. Before the ball was complete, the demon tore his claws into the flesh of his arm and after rending it for a couple of seconds ripped it completely off with a fierce jerk. There was another scream of pain from the beast, but this time it was Naruto screaming.
“HA! What will you do now brat? I’m the one with the ability to regenerate. Unless I do it you’ll be ‘unarmed’ from now on,” the demon said as he snickered at his own joke.
“Damnit,” Naruto thought. “I could use his power to heal it, but if he doesn’t know yet then I need to keep it from him… I’ll have to play it off.”
“KAKASHI-SENSEI! I NEED SOME HELP!JUST ATTACK THE LEFT SIDE BUT HURRY!” Kakashi looked over to the Hokage for a moment, then looked back over to the boy. It was obvious he was trying to decide what to do. It had been much easier when it was just Kyuubi going on a rampage with Naruto as a prisoner, but now the boy had some control and was telling him to try and kill him. He didn’t know what to do. His answer came in a soothing touch to his shoulder. Not only did the bulk of his chakra return, but his body was refreshed and mostly healed. He looked over to Tsunade to see the purple seals on her face recede and her undamaged arm stop glowing. She began to look older in his eyes.
“If you had any doubts about what he wanted, he just took care of them for you. You know what he wants now, go, and help your students,” she finished before falling down exhausted. Before she hit the pavement Kakashi caught her in his arms and gently placed her down.
“Thank-you, Tsunade-sama,” he said as he laid her down against a building in a seated position. He knew he wouldn’t hear the end of it if he hadn’t put her in a position where she could see the end of this fight. She nodded at him before he turned to face his opponent. He aimed himself directly at the beast’s left side, trusting his student’s words as he charged in to perform his most powerful technique for the second time that day. “CHIDORI KINJUTSU: OIUCHI” he yelled as he once again rushed the Kyuubi. The demon had tried to jump away, but found that his other half had stuck his leg to the ground with chakra. A simple chakra control technique had just thwarted the Great Demon Lord Kyuubi.
Kakashi blasted into the monster again with every ounce of chakra he could put into the attack without passing out. There was easily enough chakra to have made four chidori in this one awesome attack, and it showed. When the smoke cleared Kyuubi was in the worst shape he had been in. His legs from about mid-thigh down stood in place for a moment before falling back onto the ground. Just beyond those were the remains of the rest of Kyuubi’s body. His head was there, as were his neck and shoulders. Both of his arms were blown off in the middle of the bicep, likewise, his chest was completely gone except for a few inches which made a near straight line between the remains of his two arms. Kakashi looked at his work for only a second before he made his way over to a hysterical Sakura and sat beside her again exhausted.
“Haven’t you already tried this once human?” the demon sneered. And just like every time before, he started to heal. The process seemed to take longer this time, and when the Kyuubi stood, he staggered a bit as if he had too much to drink.
“Ha. What’s wrong Kyuubi? You getting tired?” Kakashi asked. He knew he was about to die, but he would face it bravely like his young blonde student would want. He even took it upon himself to make a very Naruto-like remark in the boy’s honor.
The walking death machine only grinned and walked over to the Copy Ninja. He was flexing his arm as he walked, and seemed to be inspecting his claws. As he was within striking distance, his grin grew more disturbing.
“I think I will make you suffer before you die, since you did help imprison me after all,” Kyuubi said. He turned his gaze to Sakura and raised a clawed hand in the air and started to bring it down…only it didn’t move. The demon looked at it in disbelief. “WHAT!” he yelled.
“You dumbass fox,” came Naruto’s familiar voice. “You had thirteen years to plan your escape, but when you finally got the chance you screwed it up. Now it will cost you.”
“W-WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!” the Kyuubi screamed. He was obviously horrified at the fact he wasn’t in control of his own body.
“You were in such a hurry to leave that you didn’t even think about the fact that you couldn’t take all your power with you. All you thought about was getting out of here. Now, since you’ve had to regenerate so much it drained the little chakra you were able to take with you.”
“YOU’RE LYING! I COULD FEEL HOW POWERFUL I WAS!”
“True, when there’s demon energy flowing through your body it makes you feel like a god. But think about it. This body is a far cry from your own. Did you really think that just because you had the same feeling you had the same amount of power? But now you’re out of chakra, and we come to your second mistake. You didn’t destroy the Fourth’s seal; you tried to make it my prison. You said yourself it is controlled by my will you moron. See the mistakes you can make when you get in a hurry?” Naruto mocked.
“W-WELL IT DOESN’T MATTER ANYWAY! As long as you’re sealed you can’t hurt me!”
“Wrong again furball. Only so much of your chakra could come through the seal at a time, but now that I’ve absorbed it… IT’S MINE!” Naruto yelled as he forced his newfound chakra through the seal. Soon the demon’s body burst into blue flames, and the creature roared in pain. Every second that passed destroyed more and more of the demonic chakra that was flowing through the body. The three shinobi that had been there all along watched in amazement, then noticed that several people from the small crowd earlier had returned to see what was happening. Realizing what was going to happen, the Kyuubi retreated back to the seal’s gate. He was going to try and reason with Naruto.
“S-STOP THIS! WE’LL BOTH BE KILLED!”
“You think so?” Naruto asked calmly. “I’m not so sure. But I’ll tell you a secret… I will gladly die to protect my friends from you!” he yelled as he pushed his chakra even harder. Every second he could feel less demon chakra in his body, and when he looked up he saw the Kyuubi starting to fade out of existence. “Just a little more,” Naruto thought as his body started to ache. He had never forced chakra this hard before. It was more taxing than he had imagined.
The whole time the Kyuubi was fighting against the cell bars, trying to rip them open. As he punched and kicked and pulled desperately he let out frustrated growls and roars. Finally, after several more minutes of this, and with one final roar that will stay with Naruto until he dies, the Kyuubi vanished out of existence. Naruto kept forcing out chakra to be sure it wasn’t a trick, then stopped to see if he could sense any demon energy in his body. When he was sure he didn’t, he relaxed and released the seal on his cell bars. After all the years of hell, Naruto was finally rid of his curse.
He left the confines of his mind and found himself in the center of a crater in the middle of Konoha’s main street, covered in blood. He looked at his body and watched as it slowly returned to its original form. He looked around to see everyone standing around and looking on him with awe. He walked over to Sakura, who started to slide back as he approached. He stopped as soon as he noticed, and she in turn noticed the heartbreak in his eyes.
She took a couple of deep breaths and rose to her feet. She slowly and cautiously walked over to the blonde and looked him over. She looked for any changes that had happened to his body. She looked for claws to find none, looked for tails and didn’t see any as she walked behind him. She finally looked into his eyes and saw the bright blue orbs staring back at her. As she was looking into his eyes Naruto started to cry at the thought of what he had done.
“S-Sakura-chan I-I…” he was cut off as she threw her arms around him and sobbed on his shoulder. After a couple of seconds of Naruto being confused she pulled away and slapped him across the face.
“Y-YOU JACKASS!” she yelled through her tears. “I thought I had lost you!” she screamed. “Don’t you EVER do anything like that again you hear me!” she said as she fell against his chest again and hit it lightly with her fists. “This is the second time today I thought you were going to die on me!” she continued. Naruto slowly brought his arms around her, waiting for her to pull back or hit him again. He wasn’t really sure why he was doing it, he just felt very compelled to do so. As she felt the new weight on her waist Sakura sobbed harder and locked her arms around him again.
“I’m sorry Sakura-chan. I couldn’t help it. I couldn’t stop him from…”
“What are you talking about! You LET Kakashi-sensei hit you with his chidori! You didn’t even try and move!”
This made Naruto even more confused. Was she really mad at him because he had tried to stop Kyuubi? That didn’t make any sense. Did she want the demon to run around killing everyone? “I don’t get it,” he thought.
“What are you talking about Sakura-chan? I just wanted to…”
“I know what you wanted to do,” Sakura said as she started to calm down, but she still stayed in his arms and kept hers around him. “Kakashi-sensei told me how far you would go to protect me. This is the third time you have risked your life over me. I couldn’t bear the thought of you getting hurt… or worse… because of me; even if it is to protect me.” She pulled back slightly once again to look into his eyes. “I’ve already lost one person I cared about Naruto. I don’t want to lose you too.”
This bit into Naruto. He had broken his promise to Sakura. He had sworn to her that he would bring Sasuke back, and he failed. It broke his heart to know she was still thinking about Sasuke after what he had done, especially to her. But, it was none of his business who she chose to care about. And since he cared about her, he would do whatever it took to make sure she was happy.
“Don’t worry Sakura-chan,” he said with a slight smile. “I told you I’d bring him back and I will. I promise.”
“You can’t Naruto.” Just when he thought he couldn’t feel any worse, he was proven wrong. Now not only did he break his promise to Sakura, she was saying he was too weak to do it at all.
“Don’t say that Sakura-chan! I’ll train harder, and then you’ll see…”
“You can’t bring back Sasuke-kun Naruto. He’s dead.” Naruto was dumbstruck, so she continued to talk. “Sasuke-kun died when he left. Sasuke-kun would never do what he did to you. He wouldn’t try and kill his friend, or desert his village. Sasuke-kun was just a dream I had about what I hoped he would be underneath his façade. In reality there was no Sasuke-kun. There is only Uchiha Sasuke, power-obsessed missing nin and traitor.”
“S-Sakura-chan… I…” she just pulled him closer as tears started to fall from the both of them again. It was a combination of everything they had been though the last week. They were crying for the loss of their friend, the horrible treatment of Naruto, him having to kill to protect himself from his fellow villagers, and the thought of losing each other all at once.
“N-Naruto,” she started without looking up, “just promise you won’t leave me. Promise that we’ll always be friends, and you’ll always be here for me.”
“I promise Sakura-chan. I’ll never abandon you as long as I have breath.”
They both smiled to themselves as they continued to hold each other in the middle of the street. After she was sure everything had calmed down, Tsunade spoke.
“(AHEM) I believe we need to talk Naruto.” After a nod from the boy she turned to the crowd. “There will be a council meeting in the morning at 9:00. I will see you all then.” As she finished she turned and started to walk away. She was followed by Naruto and Kakashi, but she stopped when she noticed Sakura as well. “Maybe you should go home Sakura,” she said.
When Naruto saw how upset the girl became at what the Hokage said, Naruto spoke up for her. “She’s coming,” he said flatly.
“Naruto, don’t you think it would be best if…” Kakashi started.
“No. It’s my life and my business. I say she’s coming,” he interrupted. As he finished he took Sakura’s hand and walked past the two adults, ending the conversation. After they were past them Sakura whispered her thanks. Naruto squeezed her hand gently and smiled at her, then continued to the Hokage’s office.

< br> How was that?Well the next chapter will be a must see.Next time.Kyuubi's Release. Also,I have Kyuubi here with me.If you see words in Italics and bold in the AN then that is him.
