Chapter 5

Shortly afterwards, the rest of Akatsuki came in to eat. (Zetsu made sure to keep his distance from Akazaku) Once everyone had eaten, they all filed out and into the meeting room. The leader had called for a meeting after breakfast to discuss current matters. Once everyone was seated, the leader and two other members that the girls hadn't seen the day before stepped up to the podium. The leader cleared his throat, silencing the room completely.
“Good morning everyone. As you are all aware, about a month ago, Kyra and Kakuzu were sent on a mission to discover the whereabouts of the remaining biju. So, I will now allow them to relay their report, since they've finally rejoined us.” He politely stepped aside as the two members behind him stepped forward. One of the members was a tall man with only his eyes and nose visible. The rest of his head was covered in a head cloth and a face mask. The one thing that really stood out about the man was the fact that he had white pupils and the rest of his eyes were black. (Inverted colors) The other member was a girl (seemingly no older than Keyoko and Akazaku) who seemed a bit on the short side with a forced serious look. (She appeared to be the type that never was naturally serious, so she had to force herself to be.)
The girls placed her hand on the podium. “Hello everyone, I know we've been gone a while, but Kakuzu and I have managed to recover almost all of the necessary info. And since we've been informed that we have two possible new members, I'll introduce myself. I'm Kyra, and this is my partner, Kakuzu.” Kakuzu nodded and took a step forward. “I'll take it from here, Kyra.” Kyra gave him a glare, but stepped back. (She had obviously wanted to tell the report.) Kakuzu cleared his throat.
“We searched each of the main hidden villages within the general areas and came to this conclusion. Sukaku, the one-tailed demon raccoon, is located within a male named Gaara of the sand village. Nibi, the two-tailed demon cat, is within a female name Yugito of the cloud village.” He then smacked himself in the face. “Never mind, sorry. I forgot that we've already extracted that one.” Kyra punched his arm, visibly losing her professional composure. “You dumb ass! How could you forget the only biju that we've actually extracted? Let me take over.” She turned back to her audience before she continued. “Sanbi, the three-tailed demon turtle, has no current host and resides at the bottom of the mist village oceans. Soko, the four-tailed demon cockatrice, is located somewhere in the rain village within a male name Satoshi. Houkou, the five-tailed demon dog, is located within a female named Naomi of the grass village. Rajiu, the six-tailed demon ferret, is located in the stone village within a male named Charagi. Kyubii, the nine tailed demon fox, is within a male named Naruto of the leaf village.”
She paused momentarily to frown. “However, when we searched the sound and waterfall villages, the Jinchuruki were nowhere to be found or known of. The sound villagers told us that Suzaku's host, the seven-tailed demon phoenix, had left the village several years ago and had no idea of the whereabouts. Same for the host of Hachimata, the eight-tailed demon dragon, from the waterfall village. The villagers were so hopeless that they couldn't describe or even remember the genders of the Jinchuruki. We searched documents, but discovered that any regarding the Jinchuruki had been removed as well as any pictures. We did discover, however, that the two of them had taken refuge in a rain village orphanarium for a year, before terrorizing the villagers and fleeing. So, we still don't know of their whereabouts.” With that said, the two of them bowed, and took a seat in the audience.
Keyoko and Akazaku exchanged nervous glances as they quickly removed and stowed their headbands. The leader stood back up and returned to the podium. “Thank you Kyra and Kakuzu. We will resume our missions for the capture of the remaining biju after we've put our to-be members to the test. Akazaku, Keyoko, stand up please.” The girls obeyed silently. “I have discussed with the others about the content of the test, and these are the results. The two of you must complete three tasks over the next three days. Task one: beat Kisame in a breath-holding contest. Task two: beat Deidara in a flight competition. And task three: battle any member of your choice. However, you must either win or tie to pass. Any questions?”
Keyoko raised her hand. “Yes Keyoko?” “Yeah um, how are we supposed to beat Kisame at a breath-holding contest if he can breathe underwater?” Kisame gave a small chuckle form the back of the room. The leader frowned slightly. “Well, I suppose as long as you can stay underwater as long as he's willing to, you'll pass. If there are no further questions, then let's head outside for task one.” He stepped off the podium as the other members began filing out of the room towards the front entrance. The all exited through the entrance and began walking towards the forest. Within minutes, a deep river came into view. All of Akatsuki lined up along the banks. Kisame turned to Akazaku and Keyoko, a sneer across his face. “The rules are simple. Just stay underwater longer than I care to, and you win. Come up, or drown, and you lose. Ready?” The girls nodded.
