Desert Tears:

Chapter 2

Different Villages, Same Heart

Hinata ran from the room and Gaara didn't follow. Instead he stared after her. Kankuro and Temari were stunned.

“Gaara?” whispered Temari cautiously.

She was answered with only silence as she moved to place her hand on his shoulder…BIG MISTAKE! Sand flew from the sand gourd laid against the wall and wrapped itself around Temari's hand crushing it. Temari screamed in pain. Kankuro rushed to her side pulling her away from Gaara's angry rage. Gaara ran from the room grabbing his sand gourd as he went.

He didn't know where he was running he didn't care. He ran where ever his feet would take him and at that moment he hoped it would be over a cliff. He found himself at a waterfall. Its glittering waters and stunning beauty drown out by the raging noise. He felt his knees give way. For some reason he felt a terrible aching feeling about Hinata knowing he loved her. Maybe it was the way she looked at him before she ran. That look he had seen it before, it was the look of fear. There had been no love there. Love...he barely knew the meaning of the word until he met her. He didn't know why he felt this. He was an emotionless monster, his name even said so. So why did he have feelings for her.

He looked again at the waterfall. For a second he could have sworn he saw something, hiding, there behind the tree near where the waterfall emptied. There it was again.

I'm just imagining things. All the stress from this Hinata mess has gotten to me.

Gaara laid his sand gourd down and rested his back on a tree.

I just not thinking clearly, I need some rest.

He knew he wasn't going to sleep; Shukaku would make sure of that. He just wanted to rest his eyes and forget this whole mess. He never got the chance. Out of the blue Gaara felt his sand shield go up. He opened his eyes and knew what he had seen behind the tree. There standing in front of him was six sound ninja. Gaara glared. As if he didn't have enough on his mind anyway. He was going to make a quick job of these ninja for disturbing him.

Suddenly Gaara knew why they were in Konohagakure. One of them was Uchida, Sasuke and right next to him the infamous Orochimaru along with his four strongest ninja. They were going to attack Konohagakure's new Hokage and when they were done with that they were going to kill Konohagakure's most powerful clan, The Hyuuga Clan. Anger filled Gaara.

THEY'RE NOT GOING TO TOUCH HINATA!!!

Sand burst from the gourd and wrapped itself around the ninja with four arms killing him quickly. While Gaara's back was turned he had forgotten one of the most important ones. A beautiful sound filled his ears and he was surrounded by darkness.

No way am I going to lose here!

He felt his sand blocking from all sides but sooner or later his chakra was going to give.

I refuse to die here!

He heard the flute give a horrible squeak and Gaara could see again. The flute was smashed on the ground with its player unconscious with no sign of injuries, And standing between Gaara and The other four sound ninjas was…Hinata Hyuuga?!

I had run from the hotel all the way into the forest near the waterfall. The waterfall had always calmed me, no matter what it was faced with it never stopped flowing back stronger than ever. I wished I could be like that. I can't believe Gaara said he loved me! I had always had a crush on him but I covered it up pretending I liked Naruto. Had he known? Was he trying to torture me?

A beautiful Sound broke my thoughts. It was the sound of a flute. How pretty it sounded…wait! I had heard that sound before! It was a Sound ninja putting someone under an illusion spell. I ran to the area I had heard the music. There was Orochimaru and his gang of thugs along with that A$$hole Sasuke. Even worse Gaara was there to swinging his head left and right blindly. The sound ninjas were attacking from all sides while that girl played her music.

I had to do something. I gathered up every shred of courage I had and charged my Gentle fist technique (which really isn't so gentle) straight into that nasty flute player's stomach. A horrible squeak came when I had hit her. She fell unconscious on the ground as I smashed her flute. I moved in front of Gaara to protect him. If I was going down then I would do it fighting. I saw confusion and shock flash across Gaara's features before it returned back to its normal expressionless form. He stood up next to me.

Now we are going to show these ninja's what happens when you mess with Konohagakure and Sunagakure ninja!
