Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Family: The Story of S and N ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )

“Get them out of here!” Naruto shouted at the three women standing protectively around the triplets. “It’s too dangerous here!”
“Hurry on to the next village, we’ll catch up when we can.” Ichi mumbled as he threw a kunai at one of the Rogue-nin attacking them.
Sachi nodded and rushed off with Miki, Kana, and the triplets.
As wandering-nin, the triplets were used to traveling from village to village; they didn’t wear forehead protectors like the adults surrounding them because they didn’t have a home village, but didn’t mind. The three were worried about leaving their father, he was really the only family they had, but did as they were told anyway.

Once they were a far enough distance from the battlefield, Sachi and the others slowed down.
"There’s a village gate." Miki pointed excitedly toward a large gate, the symbol for the Hidden Leaf hanging over top of it.
Sachi looked up at the symbol and sighed, but pushed ahead anyway. "Let me handle the guards." She mumbled.
"Good Morning." A Chuunin guard greeted them.
"Morning." Sachi smiled, she handed over her papers, as well as Miki's and Kana's.
The guard looked suspiciously over at Kana, seeing as how the woman was of the Hidden Sound and Konoha had a bad past with that particular village. Kana simply smiled sweetly at him, making him blush. He nodded, "And the children?"
Sachi sighed looking over at the triplets, the boys were glaring at each other as Rin stood to the side and watched. "You see, well, they don't have papers, or a home village..." The red head trailed off.
"What do you mean?" the guard asked.
"They were born in an abandoned cabin in the middle of the Fire Country, in no particular village." She explained. "And we are wandering-nin, so we never stay in one place very long, making it difficult for them to gain forehead protectors or papers."
He nodded. "I see, well then I'm not sure what to do." He mumbled, scratching the back of his head.
The other guard bowed politely. "I'll go inform the Hokage." He announced, disappearing in a cloud of smoke.
"Are they yours?" The first guard mumbled.
Sachi shook her head, glaring angrily at the man. "No! They're a friend of mine's who was held up, do I look like I've had three kids?" She growled.
The guard shook his head furiously, taking a step back. "Of course not," he mumbled. "It was a stupid question."
"We're not kids." The little blonde huffed angrily, turning his glare form his brother to Sachi and the guard.
“I am twenty-five, you are eleven, therefore, you are a kid.” Sachi smiled, but her right eye twitched in annoyance.
“Baka, just keep your mouth shut.” Daisuke, the black haired boy, mumbled monotone.
“What did you call me?” Ginji snapped, turning towards his brother.
“Boys!” Sachi snapped.
The other guard then appeared once again. “Hokage says it’s OK since they’re so young.” He informed them. “Please enjoy your stay.”
The small group stepped through the gate, smiling in appreciation at the guards. They found a hotel, settled into their rooms, and then decided to go get something to eat before exploring.

Since Naruto had disappeared, a lot of things had changed. Ino and Shikamaru were now married, as well as Neji and Tenten. Choji, Ino, Hinata, and Tenten had all become teachers at the academy. Rock Lee, Kiba, and Shikamaru had become Jounin and taken on their own Genin teams. Sakura was learning under Tsunade to become a medical-nin, and was dating Rock Lee. Iruka and Kakashi had started dating only a couple years ago, due to the encouragement of their students and peers. Sasuke, Shino, and Neji had all become ANBU. Kakashi had become an ANBU once again; he was on Sasuke's team so he saw his former-student often.
The group, which included Jiraiya, Kakashi, Kurenai, Asuma, Gai, Genma, Iruka, Sasuke, Shino, Rock Lee, Sakura, Shikamaru, Kiba, Choji, Ino, Hinata, Tenten, and Neji, was sitting in the field where team seven had had their first test; they sat in front of the memorial stone.
“It’s been so long since all of us have been able to get together like this, like old times.” Sakura sighed, finding a comfortable position in the grass between Rock Lee and Yamanaka Ino.
“I know what you mean, when was the last time we all had some serious time off like this.” Ino agreed, her short blonde ponytail bobbing up and down as she nodded. “Even Sasuke-kun was able to make it this time.” She announced.
“Hn.” Sasuke mumbled. Truth be told, life as an ANBU was hard work and he was glad to get to spend some time with his friends, no matter how annoying they may be.
“Oh! They’re so cute!” Sakura cooed.
“What are you babbling about Sakura?” Ino huffed irritably.
“Those three little kids over there.” She pointed behind her, and they all turned their heads to look.
“Who asked for your opinion anyway, bastard!” The blonde boy shouted.
“Simply stating the obvious, baka.” The black haired boy mumbled in response.
Sakura giggled at the site, but a sad look crossed her face.
“What is it Sakura-chan?” Lee asked in concern.
She sighed, “It’s just…they remind me of Sasuke and Naruto when we were younger.” She mumbled. They all nodded in agreement and continued to watch the two boys with interest.
“Nii-san, Nii-chan, please don’t fight.” Rin’s quiet voice pleaded, her hands coming up between the two boys.
Daisuke huffed and turned away, arms crossing over his chest.
Ginji growled. “Bastard! I’m not done with you! Since when do you run away from a fight?” He shouted. “Hah! I know! You’re afraid of me aren’t you? Tch, I don’t blame you.”
The black haired boy turned and glared angrily at the dark eyed boy. “Baka, I just don’t waist my time with weaklings.” He grunted in defiance.
“Stop!” Rin suddenly shouted, startling both of her brothers and the group watching them. Her voice quieted immediately, “I’ll tell Daddy you two were fighting again.” She warned.
“He started it!” Ginji screeched, pointing an accusing finger at his older brother.
“Tch.” Daisuke turned away. “Like I’d do anything so childish.”
“Stop acting like you’re better than everyone, cause you’re not!” The dark eyed boy growled, shaking a fist at his brother’s back. “Daisuke-ahou!”
Daisuke began to walk away swiftly. “Baka.” He mumbled, shaking his head.
"Boys! Are you two fighting again?" Yelled a red haired woman.
"Sachi-san, Daisuke-ahou started it!" Ginji yelled.
Sachi sighed, rubbing her temples. "I'm sure he did, Ginji-kun, but you still shouldn't fight with your brother like that."
"It's impossible to try and get along with that anti-social bastard!" The blonde huffed.
"Rin gets along with him." Sachi pointed out.
"Rin's his sister." He grumbled.
Sachi shook her head; she leaned down and poked Ginji's forehead. "And you're his brother." She smiled.
As Sachi poked Ginji's forehead and he pouted and rubbed the spot, Sasuke was faintly reminded of his older brother.
"Why do you always do that?" Ginji asked, still rubbing his forehead.
"What?"
"Poke people in the forehead." He mumbled.
Sachi stood and looked down at him as she put her hands on her hips. "I picked it up from an old friend of mine, before he turned into a jerk."
"Well stop, it's annoying." He huffed.
Sachi just smiled.
"Hello."
The group jumped, behind them sat a woman with short, orangey-brown hair and dull blue eyes. Miki smiled broadly at them.
"H-Hello." Ino mumbled.
"Cute kids, ne?" She grinned.
"Miki! Where are you?" Sachi growled.
"Here I am!" Miki waved happily.
Sachi walked over to Miki and the group, the triplets close behind, as well as Kana who had appeared out of nowhere. "What the heck are you doing?" Sachi snapped.
"Visiting." Miki smiled.
"Miki-san, do you know these people?" Sachi asked.
Miki shook her head, "No." She stood up and brushed the dirt from her clothes. "Just saying 'hello'."
“I’m sorry if she bothered you.” Sachi told the group, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
“No, it’s all right, she wasn’t bothering us.” Sakura assured her, tossing her long pink hair over her shoulder.
Daisuke subtly bumped into Ginji as he shifted from one foot to the other. Ginji glared out of the corner of his eye at the black haired boy before pushing him away roughly. Daisuke glared, returning the rough push. Ginji growled and punched his brother’s arm, Daisuke returning the favor, and so it went on until the boys were wrestling roughly behind the adults.
Sachi, Miki, and Kana didn’t even seem to notice the two boys as they continued in pleasant conversation with Sakura, Ino, Hinata and Tenten.
“Wandering-nin? I’ve never heard of them.” Sakura mumbled.
“Well, they aren’t exactly well known.” Sachi explained. “We’re not Missing-nin and we haven’t committed any crimes, we just up and left our villages one day.”
“We like adventure.” Miki grinned. “So we travel from village to village. Sometimes we learn jutsus while visiting a village, it’s really fun!” She cheered.
“We tend to avoid our home villages, since we each left for a reason and usually have no intention of going back, because we are either avoiding people we don’t like, or bad memories.” Sachi sighed. “We all have our own reasons.”
“Which village are those kids from?” Sakura asked.
Sachi shook her head and sighed. “They don’t have a home village, they were born in a cabin, in the middle of Fire Country, between villages.” She explained.
“How old are they?”
“Eleven, they’re triplets.”
Sasuke was watching the two boys fight, their sister standing a few feet away trying to get them to stop, but her voice was too quiet to hear. “Hey.” Sasuke tried to get the attention of one of the three women, to no avail; they were too engrossed in their conversation, even though Kana simply stood their listening. He grunted; walking over to the two boys, he placed a hand and each of their shoulders and pulled them apart with only a little effort.
Neither boy seemed to notice the hand on their shoulder, or the man who had pulled them apart as they continued to glare at each other.
Close enough now, Sasuke was able to see each of the boys’ features. His face threatened to crack a smile at how well the boys reminded him of himself and Naruto when they were younger. The energetic blonde and the quiet, insulting black haired boy, if their eye color were switched, he’d swear he’d be looking at Naruto and himself.
“Daisuke-ahou.” The blonde growled, hands fisting at his sides.
“Baka.” The blue-eyed boy huffed.
Rin rushed over to the two, standing in front of Sasuke. “Nii-san, Nii-chan, you two shouldn’t fight.” She told them. “Dad says you have to get along, you shouldn’t fight.”
“Dad’s not here.” Daisuke mumbled.
“You’ve gone crazy, no way can I get along with this jerk!” Ginji growled as he pointed an accusing finger at the black haired boy.
“Tch.” Daisuke looked away, finally noticing the man standing beside him. Looking up, he refused to let the surprise show on his face. Their father, Naruto, had told them everything about their other father, from his personality, likes and dislikes, to his physical appearance. It was a little nerve-racking to have the man standing right beside him, to say the least.
“Nii-san…” Rin looked at Daisuke worriedly, noticing the reason for the slight tensing of his body, she tensed too.
“Ah, it’s OK Imoto-chan, we’ll stop…” He glanced at Ginji. “For now.” He mumbled.
Rin understood he was really saying more than that. Their father had always said, “Find the hidden meaning within the hidden meaning”, her brother was telling her to be strong around this man, not give them away. She nodded, smiling lightly at the blue-eyed boy.
“Ne, Sachi-san, when is our dad getting here?” Ginji asked.
“The boys will probably be here in a few days, whether or not your father will actually come into the village to see us is another story.” Sachi mumbled in response.
“Why wouldn’t he come into the village?” Ino asked, the other Leaf-nin nodding in agreement to the question.
“Our father does not like Konoha, he has a grudge against the Hidden Leaf.” Daisuke spoke up, his siblings nodding in agreement. “Frankly, so do we.”
“Daisuke!” Sachi snapped, eyes widening.
Daisuke turned away and began to leave, Ginji and Rin following close behind. “We’re going back to the hotel.”
“I hope Dad gets here soon, I want to get out of here.” Ginji mumbled, his voice carrying to the group.
“I hope he’s OK.” Rin said.
“Come on Rin, Dad can kick anyone’s ass!” Ginji shouted, punching the air above his head.
“Baka, he’s not invincible.” Daisuke huffed.
“What did you say, Daisuke-ahou? I…” His voice trailed off as they got farther away, disappearing into the crowded village.
Sachi sighed. “Daisuke was overreacting, trying to protect his little brother and sister,” She shook her head. “Their father…has issues with Hidden Leaf, but in no way does he hate it. Those three…have the same issues, even though they’ve never been here before.” She looked off into the distance where the triplets had disappeared.
“Those three are strong, they’ll be fine.”
Sachi spun around and smacked the blue haired man up side the head, glowering angrily at him. “Stop doing that!”
The Leaf-nin blinked, all of them wondering when the blue-haired man had appeared and where he’d come from.
“Oi! Don’t hit so hard!” He growled.
“Niro-chan!” Miki cheered. “How’d it go?”
“Don’t call me ‘-chan’.” He mumbled. “We’re all fine, except Ichi twisted his wrist in one of his final blows to his opponent.”
“Kana will take care of him.” Sachi nodded. “What about…”
“He’s pissed, but he’ll get over it.” Niro mumbled. “He wants to get going as soon as possible, he and Ichi will meet us in the Hidden Grass.”
“We’ll get going in the morning.” Sachi confirmed.
Miki touched Niro’s arm. “Those Rouge-nin who attacked us, were they…”
“Yes, they were sent by Orochimaru.” He nodded. “Now let’s try not to think about it and get going; the longer we stay here, the more danger this village is in.”
Sachi, Miki, and Kana followed Niro as he began to leave and head toward their hotel. “Nice to meet you all!” Miki waved happily to the group of Leaf-nin before they too disappeared into the crowd.
“That was a little odd.” Kiba mumbled.
“Orochimaru has quite a lot of enemies, doesn’t he?” Neji asked.
Sakura nodded. “I hope they’ll be OK, and those kids…”
“I’m sure they will be. Those two, Miki and Niro, they snuck up on us without us noticing.” Shikamaru stated, bored.
“And I didn’t even sense Kana, the pink haired woman.” Sasuke admitted. “And those kids don’t really need protection.”
Shino and Neji nodded, “They must be of a strong bloodline.” Neji observed.
“Hn.” Sasuke looked off into the village’s crowd. Who are those kids? Who are their parents? And what do they have to do with Orochimaru?
“Hurry on to the next village, we’ll catch up when we can.” Ichi mumbled as he threw a kunai at one of the Rogue-nin attacking them.
