"WHAT?" Tsunade howled, standing abruptly and nearly knocking over her chair.
"In Night Country, we saw Naruto, when his friend said 'Leaf-nin' he just disappeared, they followed soon after." Kakashi mumbled.
"And did we mention he has three little brats?" Jiraiya asked.
Tsunade's body slackened and she fell back into her chair, a hand covering her face as she sighed heavily. Silence filled the room for several moments. "I'm so glad he's alive." Tsunade's voice was barely above a whisper, the occupants of the room had to strain to hear her. "He's a grown up now." She mumbled. She let out a short, quiet laugh that almost sounded like a sob. "Kids, too? How old?"
"Eleven." Neji mumbled.
"And I thought he left because of the way the village treated him." She whispered. "Bastards, all of them."
"Hokage-sama, I've been meaning to ask you about that..." Sakura piped up; they were all there, Kiba and the others had insisted everyone be there when they told the Hokage about Naruto, just so that everyone knew too.
"Yes, Sakura-chan?" Hokage asked, her voice strained and tired.
"Why...does everyone in the village seem to hate Naruto? The adults I mean, they practically had a party when they heard he was missing." She sniffled, on the verge of tears. "Why would they do something like that?"
The elder blonde woman sighed heavily before reaching into her desk and pulling out a worn piece of paper. "I guess it's time to grant his wish." She mumbled.
"Hokage-sama?" Ino asked.
"Would someone please read this aloud? I can't." She pushed the old, worn piece of paper to the edge of her desk.
Kakashi picked it up and turned so he was facing everyone. He cleared his throat and began to read.
"Anou, Konoha?
I know you all hate me, well, most of you at least, but I want you to know, I have to leave. There are so many reasons, I'm sure you all have questions, but I can't sit here and answer them all I'm afraid. A note, to each of the people I call my friends.
First, Tsunade-baa-chan, please tell everyone...the secret. I know it's illegal, blah, blah, but I don't care, I want them to know. And, take care. Look for a new Rokudaime; as a missing-nin, excreta, I'm afraid I can't be the next Hokage anymore. Besides, I have a new dream now...don't ask.
Jiraiya, pervert, do me a favor and teach Konohamaru in my place; he'll enjoy it, I promise, and he'll give you as much trouble as I would. Watch over Tsunade-baa-chan and everyone for me too, OK?
Iruka-sensei, I think, saying good-bye to you, might be the hardest. You were always there for me, for the longest time, it seemed like you were the only one who cared. When everyone else hated me, despite the fact that you knew, you still defended me, like against Mizuki. I'll never be able to forget you, thank you for everything.
Kakashi-sensei, despite how I never seemed to pay attention, and I was always complaining, you taught me a lot. Not just Ninja stuff, you were like, a second Iruka-sensei, I suppose. You looked out for me, and, I could always talk to you. Thank you. Keep an eye on Sakura-chan and...Sasuke too for me, please? Thanks again.
Gai, Kurenai, Anko, Asuma, Ebisu, Genma, I never really got to really know any of you, and I'm sorry, but I appreciate you not discriminating against me like everyone else in the village.
Sakura-chan, hah, how many times did I ask you out? I really like you Sakura-chan; you're like my big sister. I only ever asked you out because I wanted to make you feel special, that someone close cared, I didn't do it to be mean, I swear; if you'd ever said yes...I backed off as Lee announced his feelings, did you notice? I just want you to be happy, Sakura-chan, so, please do that for me? Be happy, OK?
Shikamaru, you lazy bum, you have the potential to be the best Shinobi in history, did you know that? But, I suppose everyone would rather watch the clouds float by then risk their lives to retrieve a stupid scroll, right? If only I had the guts to be so laid back, life would be blissful. But seriously, you are a great Shinobi; exploit that, for me, OK?
Ino, we never really got to know each other, but I'd like to say, I hope you and Sakura-chan resolve your differences. I know a guy who's perfect for you, and it's not Sasuke. Oh and, when you're told the secret, gossip like you've never gossiped before, I want everyone to know.
Choji, again, I never really got to know you, and I'm sorry. Don't push yourself to hard, OK? You're a good Shinobi too.
Shino, the same goes for you. You don't talk much, so I don't really know anything about you, but I think you'll make a good Shinobi, ANBU maybe? You're quiet enough, hah.
Hinata-chan, you have the potential to be as great as your cousin, I know. You just need to open up more, get rid of that shyness, OK?
Kiba and Akamaru, we never really got along, to tell the honest truth. But, you are a worthy opponent; you're good, really good. Train hard, not too hard, and become even better, even stronger.
Tenten, another I never had the pleasure of getting to know. But, you seem like a trustworthy person, a very good friend, work with that, OK? Hah, teamwork, ne?
Lee, bushy eyebrows, you're loyal, funny, and a good friend. I'm glad to have known you. Be good to Sakura-chan, help Kakashi keep her safe for me, OK? Thanks.
Neji, the promise I made for you in the Chuunin exam, you don't really need me. You and Hinata-chan are enough to fix the problems of your family, so future generations don't follow the same hated path. Never forget, you control your own destiny, (although, I never planned this, hah).
Konohamaru and gang, keep going with your dreams, you don't need to idolize anyone but yourselves. You're all very strong, deep down, and you hold great potential, don't forget that, OK? Do me proud, even if I'm not there.
And lastly, Sasuke, vengeance is no way to live your life. You're letting Itachi run your life because of it, stop, please. And, I'll tell you a secret, I don't hate you, and I never did.
Everyone, I know that this sounds nothing like me, but things change.
Gomen Nasai, Minna-sama.

Everyone was silent, the room filled with quiet, choked sobs.
"Secret?" Neji asked calmly.
Tsunade sighed before she began the tale of Uzumaki Naruto and the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon.
