Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Family: The Story of S and N ❯ Chapter 5 ( Chapter 5 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Naruto was sitting on the deck, dangling his feet over the water, and Inari was doing the same as he sat beside the blonde. The younger man's wardrobe hadn't changed; he just wore a larger version of his clothes from fourteen years ago, only half of his overalls pinned together, and his hat sat on his head lopsided, showing off short and messy black hair.
The two of them were in deep conversation, talking about what had happened over the years while they were apart. The triplets had gone off with Tsunami to help her with the groceries. Ichi was inside, having an intelligent conversation with Tazuna about just about everything, Kana listening quietly. Miki and Niro had gone off to explore the village, and Sachi stood by the back door watching Naruto and Inari converse.
They'd been there for three days now, and Naruto and Inari both still had stories to tell each other. Naruto had explained the first day about the Kyuubi, which was how the triplets were born, being careful not to tell them who the father was. Inari had laughed jokingly about him being the uke of the relationship, to which Naruto growled and began to yell, but other than that they had understood and accepted it, which Naruto was grateful for. Naruto explained to them about running away, and how Konoha didn't know about the reason for the triplets being born, and they promised not to talk about it outside of the house.
Tsunami and the kids came in the front door carrying several bags of groceries, Miki and Niro in toe. Once the groceries were set down in the kitchen, the three eleven-year-olds joined Inari and their father outside.
Kana and Sachi helped Tsunami make lunch as Miki bounced around handing them ingredients and putting away the unneeded groceries. Niro joined Ichi and Tazuna in the living room, staying silent since he had no idea what the two were talking about.
Lunch was finally announced and everyone crowded around the table to eat, Ichi and Tazuna promising to continue their conversation later, as did Naruto and Inari. Lunch was slow and the conversation was animated, laughing, shouting, and a little wrestling.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the front door and Tazuna stood to answer it. Tazuna blinked rapidly in surprise upon seeing a smiling Kakashi at his door with a group of six other people standing behind him.
"Long time no see, Tazuna-san." Kakashi told him, extending a hand to shake.
"What a surprise." The elderly man chuckled and shook the silver haired man's outstretched hand. "It's been a while, how've you been?"
"Good, you?" Kakashi asked calmly.
"Fine." He nodded.
"May we come in, Tazuna-san?"
"Sure," He stepped aside to let the group inside, closing the door behind them. "We just sat down to lunch a little while ago, would you like me to see if we have extra?"
"No, that's all right, but thank you anyway." The ex-Jounin assured him.
"It's been a while, Tazuna-san." Sakura smiled sweetly at him. "Yes it has, fourteen years is too long if you ask me." He answered.
"Tazuna-san, who's at the door?" Miki poked her head into the room. "Oh! Hello!" She smiled cutely and stepped into the room. "It's been a while for some and only a couple days for others."
"Miki-chan! What are you doing?" Sachi stepped into the room, standing behind Miki.
"Look!" Miki smiled.
Sachi's eyes narrowed, she pointed at them and shouted, "Leaf!"
"We mean no harm!" Kakashi assured. "We only want to talk to Naruto."
"How'd you know where to find us?" Sachi asked in a low growl.
Miki raised her hand. "I told them where we were going when we saw them in Night Country." She grinned.
Sachi wrapped her hands around the older woman's neck and shook her roughly. "What is wrong with you?" She growled.
"No killing please!" Ichi's voice floated in from the other room.
"I'll kill who I want!" Sachi snapped back.
The door opened, and a shuriken flew into the room only to tangle in Sachi's hair. She scowled, letting out a frustrated scream as she let go of Miki and pulled her hair loose from the bun and began trying to untangle the shuriken. "Bastard..." She grumbled.
"One minute please!" Miki grinned and disappeared into the room where everyone else was eating. She returned a few minutes later. "We'll all talk after lunch, please wait here until then." She announced. She turned to Sachi, "And the person who threw that says they're sorry."
Sachi's eyes narrowed as she finally untangled the weapon from her hair. "Who was it?" She hissed, putting her hair back into a loose bun.
"Actually, both Ichi and Naruto threw one, so they're not sure."
"OK then, I'll just kill them both." She smiled and went back into the other room.
"Not in front of the children!" Miki reminded her as she followed.
"Have a seat." Tazuna mumbled as he followed as well.
A little while later everyone but Naruto entered the room with the Leaf-nin and took a seat, the triplets were the last to enter, nervously they sat the farthest from the Leaf-nin, next to Kana.
"Naruto is just cleaning up, he'll be just a moment." Tsunami informed them. "So, what are your names?"
"For those of you who don't know, I am Hatake Kakashi." The silver haired man announced.
"Haruno Sakura." The pink haired woman nodded.
"Yamanaka Ino, now Nara Ino." She smiled brightly and hugged her husband's arm.
"Nara Shikamaru." He grumbled in a bored tone.
"Rock Lee."
"Jiraiya." The white haired man bowed his head politely.
"Uchiha Sasuke." He said in an uninterested monotone.
Niro grunted. "More Uchiha." He mumbled, earning himself a smack from Sachi. "Damn it woman!" He barked.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. "What did you mean by that?"
Sachi sighed, glaring pointedly at the blue haired man sitting beside her. "Not only is Orochimaru after us, but so is the Akatsuki. The majority of the times we've been attacked by Akatsuki have been by Hoshigaki Kisame and Uchiha Itachi." She grumbled, smacking Niro once again.
"Stop hitting me!" He hissed, holding his head.
"Stop it." Ichi said flatly, no room for argument.
Silence.
Naruto stepped into the room, his mask in place; he stood by the door and not moving from it as he looked over the group of Leaf-nin.
Rin stood and walked to her father, hugging him around the waist. Naruto rested his hand on the little girl's head.
"Well?" Naruto asked; over the years his voice had deepened, and it startled the Leaf-nin upon hearing it.
"We wanted to ask you to come back to Konoha, but there is no obligation." Kakashi told him, standing. "We've all missed you a lot."
Ginji snorted. "Why would he want to?"
"Ginji..." Naruto warned.
Ginji glared at his brother, "Sorry." He mumbled.
"What?" Daisuke asked, glaring back.
"Boys, don't start." Naruto told them.
Kana pulled Ginji over her lap to sit on her other side. Ginji leaned forward to see his brother before sticking his tongue out and giving him a raspberry.
Miki giggled as Ichi smiled and Naruto rolled his eyes.
Daisuke sighed in exasperation. "Baka." He mumbled.
Ginji opened his mouth to retort but one look from his father and he stopped, resorting to just a glare and a growl before sitting back and ignoring his older brother.
Naruto shifted from one foot to the other, making Rin release her hold on him. He hugged her with one arm and then gently pushed her towards her brothers and Kana. Kana smiled and pulled Rin into her lap; once seated, Rin held each of her brothers' hands in her lap, neither boy seemed to mind as they scooted closer.
Naruto took a few steps towards the Leaf-nin, "Why?"
"Because we miss you." Sakura told him, the others nodding.
Naruto folded his arms over his chest, and noticed something, Sasuke was watching the blonde's every move, but Naruto chose to ignore it.
"Seven people miss him?" Niro grumbled.
Ino scowled. "Everyone misses him." She corrected. "Everyone."
"Everyone?" Naruto lifted an eyebrow. "I highly doubt you've come here on behalf of all of Konoha. I don't think they want the Kyuubi back after finally having gotten rid of him for eleven years."
All three eleven year olds opened their mouths to retort but stopped when Naruto raised his hand, telling them to be quiet.
"Who gives a crap about the rest of Konoha?" Shikamaru growled. "What about your friends? The ones who do care?"
"Shikamaru is right." Sakura nodded, standing and taking a step towards the blue-eyed man. "You have no idea what all of us went through when you left, Naruto."
"Boo-who, do you know what it's like to be a single parent of three at the age of fifteen?" Sachi snapped.
"Sachi!" Naruto glared.
"What?" She scowled.
"No doubt that must have been hard." Jiraiya spoke up. "But if that's the reason you left, I don't understand." He shook his head. "We would have been happy to help, we would have gladly supported you."
Naruto sighed and turned to go out the back door. "I'll think about it." He mumbled as he pushed the door open and left.
The triplets scrambled to their feet and followed their father out the back door, as did Inari.
"He just needs some time to calm down and think." Ichi assured them with a smile. "Just relax for a couple days."
"So cute." Ino beamed. "Shika-kun, sweetie, can we..."
"No."
Ino pouted. "Those kids are so adorable." She chirped.
Miki nodded enthusiastically. "Cute!" She squeaked.
"I am not cute!" Ginji's voice called from the next room, making Sachi chuckled.
"Duh." Daisuke huffed.
"Daisuke-ahou!"
"Baka."
"Boys!"
"Gomen, Oto-san." The boys chorused together in a bored tone.
The two of them were in deep conversation, talking about what had happened over the years while they were apart. The triplets had gone off with Tsunami to help her with the groceries.
