+Chapter 4+
Kuniko went up into her room. When she walked into her room there was a bouquet of flowers wrapped with some tissue paper, topped off with a black ribbon sitting on her bed. It wasn’t the same flowers that dog-boy gave her. These were different. She walked over to her bed and picked them up curiously. They were the most beautiful flowers she had ever seen. She let her fingers graze the petal of one that looked like a rose but the petals were yellow that blended to red at the tips. There were a couple of those. She thought she recognized it and set them down on her side table as she walked over to her book case. She pulled out a flower book and started flipping through until she came across the same flower. It was called the Fire Flower for obvious reasons and it was one of the rarest flowers in the Land of Fire. She smiled to herself and held them again. She wondered who gave them to her. She shrugged and put them back down and walked out of her room. She went down to her kitchen and started searching through the cabinets for something that would be a suitable vase. She opened up a cabinet that was above the counter. She glanced at the shelves and spotted something that looked perfect. It was a vase with yellow, red, and black, strips of colored glass going through it. It was hand-blown.
She reached up to try to get it but it was too high. She pulled a small step stool in front of her and went on her toes on it and was able to touch it enough that she thought she had it, until it started to tip towards her and down. Right before it hit her in the face a hand shot out and caught it and held it there. She turned her gaze, eyes wide with shock. She thought that everyone had already returned to their rooms. She turned around so her back was to the counter. They lights were off and the room was too dark for her to make out clearly who it was. He stepped closer to her and gently pushed the vase into her hands. She held it blindly, still trying to make out the face of the person in front of her. She then felt his body pressed up against hers. She would’ve backed up more but the counter prevented that and because she was on the stepping stool, she realized that she was at eye level with the other person. She didn’t know why she wasn’t sure why she wasn’t trying to push the guy away but for some reason her gut was telling her that he wasn’t there to hurt her. Her face was a deep red and she silently thanked herself for not turning on the lights, in fear of the light going into one of the bedrooms and waking someone up. “You should be more careful…” Said the mystery guy. She felt his hands go to her waist and suddenly felt herself being lifted up ever so slowly so that she was sitting on top of the counter now.
All words left her and all she could do was say “uh…” She heard what she thought was the stepping stool being kicked out of the way. He pulled her legs apart and moved even closer to her.
“I hope you like my flowers…” His voice was low and husky. She felt him lean closer to her and in turn, she tried to lean back farther away but her head bumped into the cabinet behind her and now there was absolutely no where for her to go. He still had his hands on her waist and she could felt her whole body start to heat up. She felt the tip of his nose on hers and she could feel his soft warm breath. She for some reason she couldn’t make out any features at all. She could just barely make out his outline and that was about it. She wasn’t sure how she could see the vase but not the face of this guy. She felt his lips just barely graze over hers and her heart rate sped up. It felt like her heart was ready to leap out of her chest. She was now breathing heavily. She new that it had to be one of the ninjas her parents hired but she didn’t care. Nothing at all felt wrong about this. She just felt like she wanted more. He decided to stop teasing then and she felt him add more pressure to the kiss. She closed her eyes and kissed back. He pulled back for a split second before she felt his lips come crashing down on hers. This kiss was much more intense and passionate. She felt his tongue graze her bottom lip asking for entrance into her mouth and she granted it to him. Their tongues danced around exploring each other’s mouth and she was surprised when her hands moved up to tangle in his hair.
She felt one of his arms, in turn, snake around her waist and pull her as close as possible. Her body was being pressed up against his and she felt like their bodies fit together perfectly. He continued to kiss her repeatedly, each one more passionate and intense than the last. At some point she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. Just then his hand hit an empty glass cup that was on the edge of the counter and it fell off onto the floor and shattered into a million pieces. They both froze as lights started flicking on down the hall. “Crap.” She heard him say before he pecked her lips quickly and disappeared in a poof of smoke. Her face was flushed and her lips were slightly more puffy and her hair was a little more messed up. She immediately jumped down from the counter and straightened out her hair in a panic. Ninja started darting out of their rooms. Just then Koinu jumped into her arms and she held her tightly.
“What’s going on?!” A few of the ninja said as they came running into the kitchen.
She sputtered around for an answer. “Uh… oh… my uh… Koinu! Koinu jumped up on the c-counter and knocked over the glass!” She said frantically. They gave her suspicious looks. “Heh heh, sorry for waking you. She’s just a puppy.”
“As long as you’re alright.” Neji sighed in relief. The ninja started turning back around and heading back into their rooms to go back to sleep except for one. Sasuke walked over to her and saw her on her knees, nervously picking up the larger pieces of glass. He grabbed a dustpan and a broom and walked over to her. He swept up all the small pieces and dumped it in the garbage then took the larger pieces she had in her hand when he noticed one of the pieces stuck in her hand. Apparently she had squeezed her hand a little too hard. He threw away the pieces and came back to her. She was wincing and looking at her hand, a blush still spread across her cheeks. (by the way the lights are on now) He held her wrist gently and walked her over to where the bathroom was. She quietly followed with a blush still painted clearly on her face. He let go of her hand and started searching through the mirror cabinet until he pulled out a first aid kit. He turned on the faucet so the water was lukewarm and held her hand underneath the running water. The big chunk of glass was stuck in her palm pretty deeply.
“Do you want me to pull it out fast like a band aid, or do you want me to go slow…?” He asked in a soft voice. She recognized the voice as being that of the guy from the kitchen and she looked at him stunned. He had a slight blush spreading across his cheeks and was staring at her hand.
“…slowly…” She managed to squeeze out. He glanced at her quickly and took a hold of the glass. She winced and stared at her hand as well. She hadn’t realized that his attention was focused on her facial expression rather than the chunk of glass that had impaled her hand. As he started to pull he was intrigued by the different ‘fazes’ that her face went through. She looked like she was holding her breath and her eyes were squeezed shut. When he finished pulling out the shard her face immediately relaxed. Her eyes opened and her mouth fell open slightly and she was breathing heavily. He set the glass down in the sink and shuffled through the first aid kit. He pulled out a little package and ripped it open. It was a little alcohol pad. He held her hand under the water a little longer then pulled it out and wiped it down with the pad. He then pulled out a little tube of ointment and smeared some on. Then came the gauze and the bandage. When he was done he did one quick look over his work for a last minute approval and was pleased. “When you wake up in the morning come get me so I can change the bandage.” She only nodded. She blushed harder as she watched him put everything away and dispose of the glass. He turned to leave and was surprised to see that she was still there. “Why haven’t you gone to bed yet?”
She ignored his question and decided to ask her one of his own. “…Was that you in the kitchen?”
His eyes widened slightly and he blushed a little. “It’s getting late. You should go to bed now.” He started to try and gently push her out but she held her ground and pushed back into the bathroom. This time shutting the door behind her. “What are you doing?”
“You didn’t answer my question.” She stated bluntly while crossing her arms.
“Yeah well you didn’t answer any of mine.” He bluntly replied back crossing his arms as well.
She rolled her eyes. “I didn’t go to bed yet because I want an answer and what I’m doing is well trying to get answer. You’re turn smart ass.” She fired back.
He smirked. This is why he liked her. She wasn’t like most other girls in the village who’d praise the very ground he walked on. She didn’t bow down to anyone. She was defiant and could hold her own. Just like him. He stepped closer and she held her ground. He took another step and she was within inches of him. He smirked down at her. “What was the question again?” He asked defiantly. She attempted to take a step back but the small rug she was standing on was wrinkled and she ended up tripping and on her way down she grabbed the front of his shirt to try and catch herself but he just came tumbling down on top of her. When they were down she had her hands being pinned above her head and Sasuke was smirking down at her with an evil glint in his eye. She blushed madly and glared at him. “Heh, pinned ya.” She squirmed around then she stuck her tongue out at him and before she could pull it back in his lips were smashed down on her mouth and he began the tongue wrestling again. His hands changed from holding on tightly to her wrists, to lacing his fingers with hers. She had stopped squirming around and was kissing him back. Then there was a knock on the door. Sasuke looked up in sheer anger. “What the hell.” He then disappeared again in a poof of smoke. The person knocked again.
“Hello? I heard a loud thud. Is everything okay in there?” Kuniko scrambled to her feet then flung open the door. It was Temari.
“Everything’s fine I just tripped. The rug is all scrunched up and yeah…” Kuniko scratched the back of her head nervously.
“Oh ok. I’m going to go back to bed now.” She yawned. Kuniko nodded then walked out of the bathroom, her face deep red yet again. She walked back into the kitchen and began filling the vase with water. She walked nervously back to her room. When she opened the door to her room she half expected Sasuke to be there waiting for her but was thankful and yet disappointed that he wasn’t. She put the flowers into the vase and set it next to her bed on her nightstand. She threw away the tissue paper and held the ribbon in her hand. She looked it over then decided she’d keep it and set it down next to her flowers. She crawled into her bed and slowly drifted off to sleep, all the while thinking about a certain raven haired man…
