+Chapter 6+
Sakura suddenly turned very red in pure anger. She stomped her foot and her foot crashed through the floor boards. Kuniko pushed herself away from Sasuke then turned to look at her. She glared. “I hope you know you’re fixing that. ‘cause I sure as hell am not!” She shouted pointing to the newly formed hole in the floor. Sakura pulled her foot out of the hole and crouched down. Sasuke automatically took a step to the side. Naruto poked his head up from the hole (they’re on the second floor remember.) and looked around curiously.

“What the hell is going on?” He said, staring accusingly at Sakura who completely ignored him. In the blink of an eye, Sakura charged at Kuniko and ended up launching the both of them across the room and out the sliding window and over the balcony. Naruto scrambled up through the hole as both him and Sasuke darted out onto the balcony. The looked down over the railing and were relieved when they discovered that the girls had landed in the small pond in the back of the house, but then were quickly worried when they realized that Sakura had Kuniko by the neck and had her head pinned under the water. They jumped down and landed smoothly on their feet at the edge of the pond.

“What on earth is going on here?!” The Lord said as him and his wife rushed out into the back yard with Tsunade and the rest of the ninja staying at the house.

“Sakura!” Tsunade shouted in anger. “Let go of her now!” Sakura completely ignored her. Kuniko delivered a kick to Sakura’s stomach, in an effort to get her off. Sakura coughed a couple times, indicating the wind had been knocked out of her and she simply started gasping, but she didn’t even loosen her grip on Kuniko’s neck. Kuniko was digging her fingernails into Sakura’s risk and was getting sick of thrashing around pointlessly. She let go of Sakura’s wrists, and everyone besides Sakura seemed to notice this and new that she was about to do something so they all stepped back. Then, faster than the eye could see, Kuniko clenched her hands into tight fists and slammed them down with all the force she had into the water around her. All the water in the pond shot directly up with the force of about ten fire hoses, rocketing Sakura off of her and to the other side of the yard. Kuniko shot up with an infuriated expression on her face. She went to stand up but a hand shot out and grabbed her, pulling her out of the pond and holding her steady. It was Sasuke’s. By now Sakura had stood up again and was about to launch herself at Kuniko again. She was charging across the field, kunai in hand. Kuniko got into a defensive stance and prepared herself, but just before Sakura even reached Kuniko, Tsunade stepped in between them and caught Sakura at the very last second. She tossed the Kunai away and held Sakura still. Both girls were dripping wet, hair matted to their faces, and clothes hanging limply around their bodies. If it wasn’t so vicious, the guys might have thought that they looked hot. Sakura was about to shout something but Tsunade’s hand clamped itself down over her mouth. “My deepest apologies Lord and Mistress. I assure you this won’t happen again.” Tsunade said while glaring intently at the two girls. Kuniko made another go for Sakura, taking Sasuke off guard and temporarily pulling her hand free, but Sasuke caught her again, this time wrapping his arms around her chest, pinning her arms, and then lifted her off the ground and took a couple steps back from Tsunade and Sakura.

The Lord turned to Kuniko. “I DEMAND an explanation young lady! Why would you be picking fights with one of your protectors?!” Sakura just scoffed and turned her head. Kuniko looked away and took a deep breath. Sasuke sensed that she had calmed down enough not to attempt to go after Sakura again and set her down. “WELL?!”

“Because I don’t need any ‘protectors’, dad!” Kuniko shouted back. She was inches from his face and definitely challenging his authority over her. She was not one to just sit back and take it. She never has been. “And besides, I beat her ass last night! What makes you think I can’t do it again?! And isn’t it a little pathetic when your daughter, who isn’t even a registered ninja, can take down a jounin level kunoichi?!” Her father’s hands fisted themselves in the front of her shirt and he lifted her off the ground.

“You are going to give up all this silly ninja crap! You are a princess! Not an assassin! You will start behaving like a princess as well! And considering these ninja apparently can’t even a close enough eye on you, you are being sent to the ANBU headquarters to stay under much closer supervision! And you will never even speak of any of this ninja business anymore! You will be the future ruler of the land of water and I will not have my family disgraced by such foolishness! You will learn to be proper!” He then dropped her and she landed flat on her back. She sat up and there were tears running down her cheeks.

“Fuck you, dad. Fuck you, and fuck the land of water, because I refuse to take on that role, the last thing I want to be is anything like you or mom!” Her father immediately backhanded her. She looked completely stunned. He had never once hit her before. Tsunade had let go of Sakura, who wasn’t even angry any more. She was watching the entire scene and actually feeling sympathetic and guilty. The Lord grabbed Kuniko by the arm and yanked her up. He kept tightening his grip on her arm until he couldn’t squeeze and tighter. He leaned in and whispered in her ear.

“You will learn to respect me, and you will take your rightful place as queen of the land of water, me and your mother have already arranged a marriage with a prince who you’ll meet next week.” He practically snarled. A drop of blood dripped from her lip and landed on the ground as she was stunned into silence. He shoved her to Tsunade. “This is your last chance Tsunade. She better be acting like a princess next week when I return with the prince of the land of fire whom she will marry. She better be a princess again by then and prepared to take the prince as her husband or the alliance between the land of fire and the land of water will be destroyed.”

Tsunade stared at him with a blank expression on her face. “…I’ll do my best…”

“Well lets just hope that your best is enough.” With that final sentence he shot such a disapproving and disgusted look at his daughter and stomped out with his wife on his arm. All the ninjas and Kuniko’s brothers seemed to linger around Tsunade and Kuniko. Kuniko had her eyes shut and was quietly sobbing. Sakura nervously took a step towards them.

“L-look, Kuniko, I’m sorry. I didn’t intend to-”

“Shut up.” Kuniko cut her off. “It wasn’t your fault…” Kuniko yanked her arms out of Tsunade’s grasp and ran into the house and into her room. Kuri and Kajuji started to try and slip into the house after her but Tsunade stopped them.

“Leave her be. She needs time to think.” Tsunade said sternly.

“So, what’s going to happen now?” Sakura asked, her voice coated with guilt.

“That’s not right…” All heads turned to Naruto. “That’s just not right! How can a father be that cruel to his daughter?! And then disgrace the very people that are trying to protect his family foolish! He can’t force her to do this! There has to be a law against this. There has to be!” Naruto practically shouted.

“Unfortunetly not. We haven’t dealt with anything like this in many years. So no one bothered to really make any laws against it considering we thought that most people had evolved past the arranged marriage crap… but apparently not.” Tsunade glared at the back door the Lord had left in. She absolutely hated parents like this. It turned out that the Lord had merely been putting on a show and this was what he was really like.

“So what?! We have to just sit back and watch her get married to some random guy she’s never met before and will probably hate?!” Sasuke shouted. He was more than angry. Of course this would happen with the one girl he actually developed feelings for.

Tsunade turned sad knowing eyes to him. “I’m afraid so.” There was a loud crash that came from one of the bedrooms. Tsunade sighed sadly. “Well, everyone start saying your good-bye’s. I have to follow her father’s orders and change her location.”

“Where will she be staying?” Kiba asked while holding a couple very sad looking puppies.

Tsunade glared at the ground. “Well, he demanded that she be held in the ANBU headquarters so…”

Neji looked very shocked. “But the only secure places at the ANBU headquarters are prison cells with metal bars and locks that make it impossible for you to use chakra inside the cell. That’s like pure torture. I’ve seen those cells before and they’re absolutely filthy! That’s absolutely no place for a princess of her stature!” Neji looked completely appalled.

Tsunade sighed again. “I know. That’s why he’s being unreasonably cruel in more ways than one. I’ll be back in an hour with ANBU to escort her.”

Up in Kuniko’s room, Kuniko was pacing around her room angrily with tears spilling out of her eyes. Her hands were tangling themselves in her hair. This wasn’t helping her with her frustration so she decided to step it up a notch. She slammed her fists into the wall, making nice fist-shaped holes, then screamed at the top of her lungs. This started to help. She let herself slide to the floor and sit on the floor. She Looked up next to her and saw her nightstand with a lamp and a picture of her and her so called ‘parents’. She roughly shoved her foot between the back of the nightstand and the wall and kicked forward, making the nightstand go flying into the wall across the room making an enormous crash. She heard someone walk into the house a few minutes later and crawled over to the sliding glass door that led out to her balcony. She peeked out of a crack in the door and looked down into the back door. Everyone was outside except Tsunade. She made a split second decision. ‘I’m running away… I’m not going to sit here and let my father rule my life. I’m not going down without a fight. One of my brothers can take my place as leader of the land of water because I sure as hell don’t want it.’ She ran to her dresser and pulled out a black cloak with sleeves and a hood and she slipped it on, buttoning it closed and pulling the hood up. She stayed quiet and made some hand-signs. If she didn’t try and escape now, she might never have another chance. She bit her thumb and this time ran the blood down only one of her fingers and slammed her fist into the ground. One dragon appeared and it was only about twice her size. Much smaller than the ones she summoned in her first fight with Sakura. She whispered her commands to the dragon then the dragon seeped out the slightly opened sliding door, simply looking like a soft breeze. She counted to ten then she smirked as clouds started forming in the sky and blocked out the sun. It looked like nighttime came a about ten hours too early and it was as dark outside as she needed it to be. She took another peek outside and saw that the others were staring up at the sky in astonishment. She knew that her brothers would recognize the jutsu but she had faith that they’d understand and keep their mouths shut. Then the ‘breeze’ drifted back into her room and reformed into her dragon. The dragon made a soft, pleased, ‘growling’ sound as it wrapped itself around her body then disappeared in a flurry, tousling her hair and cloak. She smiled and whispered a thank you. Then her face went hard and she performed a couple more hand-signs. She let out a slow and steady breath and, starting at her feet, her entire body disappeared into a cloud of black smoke. Once she was completely gone, the smoke drifted smoothly and gracefully out the door. She stayed close to the side of the house and continued weaving through bushes, trees, and in between the feet of stunned villagers, hiding in their shadows until it reached the wall of the very edge of the village. Her body changed back when she was safely hidden behind a village. She was completely cloaked still. She tilted her head up slightly and analyzed the top of the wall. ‘this is too easy…’ She thought suspiciously. She picked up a rock from the ground and held it in the palm of her hand. She let chakra flow from her hand and fill the rock then she tossed it at the open area above the wall. The rock was deflected and sent back down to her. ‘just as I thought. Tsunade is too smart for this to be easy. She made it so that no active chakra could go past this area.’ She smirked. ‘She’s good…’ She pulled a seal out of her back pocket and slapped it on her shoulder. She felt a sudden weakness but only took about a minute to recover. She took a short breath then ran towards the wall and jumped as high as she could. She just barely caught the top of the wall and heaved herself up. She jumped right over the top and landed smoothly on the ground. Just then a siren went off from inside the village. ‘Damn it! She must have had something else that would trigger her to someone escaping over the wall. I’ve got to get out of here and fast!’ She tore the seal off her arm and did a couple more hand signs. Her body morphed into that of a black wolf with a silver-tipped tail and silver-tipped ears. Her paws and stomach were silver too. Her eyes were a blazing blue-green just like how they were when she was human. She bolted off as fast as she could. Her one goal was escaping the land of fire. If she could do that, then she’d be home free. She sensed the presence of chakra following her. She didn’t bother looking back, that’d only slow her down, but she did recognize it. She didn’t want any followers. She snarled a vicious growl, knowing that they could hear her. She wasn’t surprised when a black wolf-dog her size came up on her flank. ‘Koinu…’ she smiled inwardly to herself. Then on her other flank a white dog, again her size, came up with Kiba riding comfortably on his back. ‘Akamaru and Kiba too… wonderful…’ She kept running although she new that more had followed her. She felt the presence of five more arriving behind her. ‘Oh, come on! I was planning on leaving by myself! Koinu is ok, obviously, but come on! These guys are only going to slow me down!’ All around her, the five others began to come into vision, emerging from the surrounding forest. Kuri and Kajuji were in their wolf forms too, (family trait they discovered) Kuri a light brown with dark brown wherever Kuniko had silver, and Kajuji was the exact opposite of him. They ran easily at her heels. Then Hinata and Naruto appeared. Naruto running on all fours, dipping into the fox’s chakra ever so slightly, giving him red eyes and claws and Hinata, obviously, struggling to keep up. Kiba moved up next to her. And she hopped on Akamaru right behind him. Then the final person emerged. ‘Sasuke…’ He too seemed to be having trouble staying at this pace so Kuniko ran up next to him and bumped into his side slightly, urging him to get on and he eventually caught on. She wasn’t going to bother telling them all to go back because she knew that they wouldn’t listen. Everyone was silent and just followed Kuniko. Just then a loud smash was heard. Naruto turned his head just in time to see a huge slug.

“HEADS UP! TSUNADE IS RIGHT ON OUR TAILS!” He shouted. They all pumped it into over drive. “HINATA! CHECK OUR PATH AHEAD OF US!” He commanded. She simply nodded.

“Byakugan!” Hinata observed what she saw and quickly reported it to Kiba in a fearful and frantic voice.

“What?! Really?!” He turned back at her to verify and she nodded. “WE’RE HEADED FOR A CLIFF! THERE’S ABOUT A 100 FOOT DROP THEN IT’S A SHALLOW RIVER. THERE’S A CLIFF ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER BUT WE HAVE TO GET MORE SPEED IF WE’RE GOING TO MAKE THE JUMP!” As soon as he finished Kuniko started pumping it way up, speeding ahead of everyone. Koinu caught right up, followed by her brothers, then Naruto. Kiba patted Akamaru. “Alright boy, it’s all or nothing!” Akamaru barked in response and quickened his pace so he was at the same speed as everyone else. The cliff was in sight now.

Kuniko glared at the offending landscape. ‘I’m not going down without a fight! We’re all going to make it! I swear it!’
