Silver eyes scanned each sentence as a figure sat straight and calm in the wooden chair placed by a large oak table. A pale hand raised and grabbed the paper, flipping it to the next page before pale eyes went back to reading the words written on the paper.

“Neji-kun?” a young lady with very long burnet hair walked in. chocolate eyes looked over at the young man who sat at the table as he finished with the page and marked his spot in the small book then placed it down on the table before looking up at the girl.

“What is it, Ten-Ten?” Neji asked as he scanned his future wife who was wearing a knee-high, pink and red dragon cheongsam and, for once, had her hair down which met her thigh in length.

“Neji-kun, Sasuke-kun and his wife Haruno-san will be here soon” Ten-Ten informed her fiancé as he nodded and turned his attention back to his book.

A sigh escaped the girl’s lips as she turned and walked out of the room. Walking down the halls of the large mansion, Ten-ten wondered how she ended up here. She was nothing more then a blacksmiths daughter so how did she end up the future wife of Hyuuga Neji, soon to be ruler of the East of Fire Country.

“Yo, Ten-Ten!” said girl turned to see a boy with a bowl cut and large eye brows rushing up to her.

A smile graced her lips as the boy sped up and stopped in front of her with a large grin on his face.

“Hey, Lee” Ten-Ten greeted the boy, her brother, Lee.

“I heard the Sasuke Uchiha of the South is coming to visit!” Lee shouted excitedly. He had always wanted to challenge the Uchiha, especially when he heard the boy was engaged to the young blossom, Sakura, his childhood crush from when he had visited the South for training.

“Yes, they should be here soon” she responded as the grin on Lee’s face grew. “By the way, have you heard from dad lately?” she asked.

“Yes he’s up in the North for some training” their father, Gai, was a very active person who would train every day and even helped some of the past rulers and heirs like Sasuke.

“Typical” Ten-Ten sighed with a slightly annoyed expression.

“What’s typical?” Ten-Ten and Lee looked up to see Neji looking down at them, well not by much since he was only taller by an inch or so.

“Oh nothing, Neji-kun” Ten-Ten laughed nervously. They weren’t suppose to talk about their father since him and Neji didn’t get along well, actually, at all.

There was a knock at the front door and the three looked over to see one of the servants walking over and opening the door to reveal a young lady with long pink hair and a stoic man with raven spikes. A blush covered lee’s cheeks before he ran off and down the halls towards his corridors.

“Well if it isn’t Uchiha Sasuke himself” Neji smirked as the two’s eyes met.

“Neji” Sasuke growled the name coldly as the two began to glare at each other.

“Neji-kun, maybe we should get on with the contracts” Ten-Ten suggested, knowing the two would have ended up just standing there in a match of glares for the rest of the day otherwise.

Neji nodded and motioned for the other two to follow as him and Ten-Ten began to walk off to the small meeting room used for all business. Both men began their work as the two girls gave looks to both of them as they did so.

“It’s pretty late” Ten-Ten said as she looked out the window after a few hours and they had finally finished. “Would you two like to stay?” she asked while turning her attention back to the couple, mainly Sasuke.

“No, we should head back” Sasuke said calmly as him and Neji continued on with the small war of glares.

“Actually, we will stay” Sakura sighed, despite Sasuke’s decision from a few moments ago.

“Ten-Ten, please tell Lee to set up some rooms” Neji instructed as the girl nodded and went off to do so.

After a few minutes, Lee came dashing down the halls with Ten-Ten walking behind.

“Yosh! Follow me to your rooms!” Lee said excitedly as he went into a proud pose, freaking out the young couple as they stood still.

“Don’t worry” Ten-Ten sweatdropped. “He’s harmless” she smiled to the youthful boy and told him to calm down before he repeated his earlier statement of them following.

Both nodded and followed as the boy led them to two separate rooms, unfortunately right next to each other. Sasuke settled into the large room and decided to lay down on the queen-sized bed, slightly snuggling into the peach silk covers. A knock drew Sasuke’s attention to the oak door as it opened to show Neji standing at the door way.

“Hyuuga? What do you want?” coal black eyes narrowed on said man as he walked into the room and closed the door behind him.

“You’ve been acting…how do I say this, off? Since you got here” Neji said as he took a few steps closer to the Uchiha who remained still sitting up on the bed.

“And why do you care?” Sasuke half growled at the other man.

“Just spill it, Uchiha. We use to be friends at the least” Neji growled back.

“Pshhh like I’d tell you just so you can turn me in” Sasuke looked down, focusing his angry stare towards the blue carpet.

“Turn you in? What are you taking about?” Neji gave a quizzical look to the raven-haired man still not making eye contact with him.

Sasuke gave a big sigh before looking up at the silver-eyed teen. A dead serious look in his coal black eyes as he continued to stare at the man to give him the signal that what he was about to say was never to be said anywhere else.

“Sakura…she isn’t the one I like…” Sasuke began, looking over and getting a nod to continue from Neji. “Infact…I don’t like any of the girls but I do like…” he took a large gulp. “Uzumaki Naruto” Sasuke closed his eyes and waited for either laughter of him being gay or a disciplining shout since it was against ancient law to be so.

When no response what so ever came, Sasuke reopened his eyes and looked up to see a neutral Neji in the same position.

“Is that all, Uchiha?” he asked, letting a calm mask cover his face.

“Is that all?” Sasuke repeated the question slightly dumbfounded. “Don’t you know what I just said!” Sasuke slightly shouted as he shot up from the bed.

“I do and I don’t care” Neji said simply as he leaned back against the wall coolly.

“You…don’t care?” now Sasuke was completely dumbfounded.

“I’ve never been too fond of the law against love. You love who you love and that’s how fate is” Neji said in a matter of fact tone. “That’s why I was so serious about making Ten-Ten my bride, because I’ve loved her since the moment I met her.”

“But that’s a whole different case!”

“It’s love all the same! So what if Naruto is a man, you love him and that’s just the way it is.”

Both were silent but kept eye contact, Neji’s eyes held all seriousness while Sasuke’s held both the confusion over the matter of what he should do and the relief from the fact that Neji had accepted this and wasn’t going to do anything like turn him in for such crimes.

“Besides…” Neji began with a rare smile. “I’ve met Naruto-kun, he grows on everyone.”

Sasuke didn’t say anything as a smirk appeared on his face and the two boys began to laugh. After a few minutes, Neji said goodnight and left. Sasuke smiled as his friend left and decided to go to sleep as well. All well between the two, though neither knew that a certain pink haired girl had been ease dropping and had heard the whole conversation.
