Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Forbidden ❯ Hospital check-up ( Chapter 11 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
The odor of medicine, chemicals, and sickness filled Azarni's lungs with disgust as she walked into the hospital. She hated the place. It was suppose to be a place of healing, but to Azarni it was more like a place were old people, or misfortunate young people died of some sort of injury or sickness. Not only that, but the fact that ninety percent of the place was white, and everything was too clean, irritated her badly. Just why did her Mom make her drag herself over to this annoying place? She should have been use to it by now, being a ninja, but she just couldn't stand it at all.
“Excuse me,” she stated to the nurse at the front desk. The women looked up from her work, and gave her a friendly smile.
“How may I help you,” the middle aged women replied.
“I need to see a doctor right away,” she said thinking it would be better to get it done and over with. “I have this bad cut on my arm, and I never had the time to get it looked at properly.”
“Then we can make an appointment right now if you'd like. As you can see, we're really busy right now so we'll let you know when a doctor can see you.” Azarni glanced down at the nurse's schedule sheet that was probably just filled out that morning. She wasn't joking when she said they were busy; the list was pretty long. Letting out a deep sigh, she nodded her head before the women placed a form in front of her. “Here you go, just sign this sheet out and then we can schedule you're appointment.”
“Alright, thank you,” the young girl replied. She then picked the clip board up in her hands, and walked over to a white chair in the waiting room. It was a typical sheet, none out of the ordinary so it would be fast for Azarni to fill out. The faster she made the appointment, the better.
(NOTE: this information was randomly made up by me.)
“Name: Nara Azarni. Birthday: November 21st, age: 17… wait scratch that, I have a few more weeks till then; 16. Injury/illness: Badly cut arm. Cause: Hit by a kunai during a mission. Occupation: Ninja/Chunin
Number: (221)-476-0986.
“That should do it. Now I'll just hand it in, and I'll be on my way,” she thought to herself. “Here you go nurse.”
Azarni placed the clip board back on the long, white marble desk before turning and leaving. The women then took the form, and seemed to look it over as Azarni head for the door.
“Wait Miss Nara,” she called. “Let me have a quick look at that cut of yours.” The girl mentally sighed out of annoyance as she slumped her shoulders before turning around. Right when she was about to leave the place, she was forced to turn back. Sure, she could have kept walking and ignored to lady, but what would her Mother say if she somehow prided the information out of her when she got home?
“Alright,” Azarni replied as she walked behind the desk. With gentle hands, she took Azarni's arm, and pushed to sleeve up a bit to reveal the whole bandage before she slowly unwrapped it. She frowned once or twice as she looked at it, before bringing out a new, clean bandage for the wound.
“You sure do need to see the doctor for that young lady, it looks very infected. I'll make your appointment as soon as possible, but for now go easy on the arm. Don't do anything to stress it, alright?”
Azarni looked at the women's rather worried looking face before she nodded as the cloth rapped around her arm. Was it really all that bad? She was sure she had worse before. But, since the nurse, and most importantly her mother wished for her to watch out for it, she obeyed.
“I told you that wound was pretty bad, girl,” Hidan chuckled as she told her story the next day. “You young people and your belief in yourself that you're invincible; what's wrong with your minds?”
“I never said I was invincible,” the girl said with her arms crossed. “I just get these types of wounds often, which is why I'm wondering why everyone is so worried about it!”
Azarni was now at the old, run down building where her favorite immortal stayed. She seemed to get more and more fond of him, and wasn't quite sure why. Of course, she didn't question that he was rather handsome in her eyes. His perfectly carved form, beautiful crimson eyes, and slicked back snow white hair gave a mysterious depth to his character. Once more, he made her laugh, smile, blush, boil, think, and enjoy visiting him; with most of the same things in return. She was rather surprised, yet not at the same time, that he actually stayed. Just why did he stay for so long? It felt as if it had been a long time ago when she first found him. Perhaps Hidan actually like it there, or maybe he just didn't have anywhere to go or anyone to go to. Azarni was actually starting to convince herself that she `liked' him, and that he stayed because he liked her back, though she quickly terminated the silly idea.
At the moment, they were both sitting outside on dry leaves, at the slop besides the building. With her legs crossed, she stared into the immortal's face as he spread his legs out, balanced himself with his arms holding his body up behind him, and looked into the distance. She felt as if she would ask him why he stayed so long, but didn't what to take the chance that he'd think she didn't want him there; not that he cared at all. But what if e decided to leave then? So silence covered them as the faint calls of a bird arose into the air. Hidan almost smiled as he looked up to the dull, bluish grey sky, but all turned to seriousness when he glanced down at Azarni.
“What,” he asked. The girl then gave him a bewildered face as he glared at her intensely, causing her to blush a little.
“What do you mean by `what',” she replied with a slight frown as he rolled his eyes and sat upright.
“How could you say you don't know what I mean? Why are you staring at me?”
“I was staring at you?” Hidan then slapped his face and let out a deep sigh before giving up and laying on his back. With his hands behind his head as a prop, he closed his eyes. “So why did you come visit again,” he asked. He then heard the girl move beside him, and rely.
“Well, because I wanted to. You're all by yourself here, so I figured you'd need some company.”
When he opened his eyes, he saw her hugging her knees to her chest as she looked over the tree line with an adoring look in her eye. The immortal curled his lip and eyebrows o the side out of question, before he soon changed back to his original state.
“Interesting, just why a young women like you would want to hang out with a dangerous guy like me,” je questioned with a slight smile on his face.
“Well, I can see a good person in you, even if it is deep down inside Hidan,” she said gently. “I believe anyone could be good, if they put their mind to it.” Hidan then sneered as he turned away from her like a grumpy child. Azarni then tried to cover up her giggles as he quickly looked back at her blushing, happy face.
“What,” he said rather impatiently.
“Well, you just looked so funny when you did that a moment ago. That's one of the things I like about you Hidan.” The man's face seemed to soften at the way she said his name. He then rolled his eyes once more and turned to his side.
“How could I find pleasure in such a girl?” he wondered as he closed his eyes again.
