Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Four Years With You ❯ Moving In ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/n: if this chapter sucks, it isn't my fault. I usually write one liners, but now I'm trying to write big fat paragraphs, like a professional. Review if you like it, don't if you don't. I only like positive reviews. *hugs neji plushy to her chest* isn't that right, my byakugan prince? Oh yeah, and I'm trying to make my chapters a little more long and realistic. So enjoy.

Chapter One: Moving In

Humming a cheery tune, Tenten lugged her large suitcase down the corridor. She was thinking about what it would be like to be in college. After all, she was fresh out of high school.

Tenten graduated from Konoha High School, and was now going to the university. But that was expected. She had gone to Konoha Elementary and Konoha Junior High. Her parents wanted to move out of Konoha, though. They didn't like it. But Tenten, loving the wonderful town, wanted to stay, and since Mr. and Mrs. Tanaka only wanted the best for their young Panda, they stayed.

And now she was off to college! What a thrill. Before she left, her parents gave her ten grand and told her to spend it well. Tenten had said she would and she left only to walk a few blocks down to her university. That's what she loved about Konoha. Everything was close and you didn't have to leave the town to get anything. She had made friends there; mainly her good friend Lee who was also going to UOK but said he'd be kind of late on the count of his internship.

Lee promised her that he'd be with her through everything during their four years, and that he'd be available at anytime. That was why she loved him so much.

Now when I say love, I don't mean love. I mean that they had been around eachother for so long, and that she loved him like family. Even her parents loved him, and let him stay over all the time.

Now about relationship? Tenten and Lee had tried a relationship in high school. It lasted about a year and some months, but they both thought it would be best to be friends.

Tenten thought about all of this as she still walked down the corridor. Then she decided to think about roommate expectations. Tenten hoped for her roommate to be nice, not nosey, and unselfish. But of course, no one's perfect.

Finally, she had reached room. She scanned the number tacked to the top of the door, and then the number she had written on her wrist when Dean Iruka told her room number. 327. Yup, this is the right one. Then tenten looked at the mailbox on the door. Underneath was a small dry-erase board with different color markers on the shelf. She sat her bag down and grabbed a pink marker.

PANDA WAS HERE

She giggled to herself. College was going to be fun.

She pulled the key the dean had given her out of the pocket in her skirt and put it into the lock. She had to twist and turn it a couple times, but eventually, the door opened.

“Anyone here?” Tenten called into the spacious apartment. Since she didn't get an answer, she figured she was the first one. That was good. Yay! That means I get the nice room!

And boy was she right. The room she chose was about as big as the sitting area outside of it. It also had a balcony with two chairs and a table.

After marinating on the luxury of her bedroom, Tenten sat her suitcase on the bed and walked out of the room. She had to go get the rest of her bags.

The second time around, walking to her room didn't seem as exciting. She had already seen everything.

Once again, Tenten stopped at room 327. Something was different. She looked at the board.

PANDA WAS HERE
*hyuga hinata*

My roommate's here, Tenten thought. She took a deep breath and walked into the room.

Lounging on the couch was petite raven-haired girl playing with her cell phone. She wore a red halter top and bleached jeans.

The two brunettes looked at eachother. “You're Panda, aren't you?” She asked casually. Tenten chucked. “That's my nickname,” she walked over to the couch and sat on the arm. “My real name's Tenten Tanaka.” The other girl chuckled also. “My name's Hinata.” She closed her phone and put inside of the pocket of her jeans, but before she did, Tenten noticed her blue cell phone charm in the shape of an H. “How cute,” She said kindly. Hinata looked confused. “What're you talking about?” She ran her fingers through her short but loose hair. “The charm…on your phone.” Hinata reached into her pocket and pulled out her Nokia. “Oh that? It's nothing.”

The girls were having a full conversation when they heard someone knock on the door. “I'll get it,” Tenten chirped. She stood, smoothed out her skirt, and walked to the door.

When she opened it, she was astounded. An absolutely stunning boy stood at the door. He had lavender eyes and his long. almost-black hair was pulled into a low ponytail.

When she returned to the present, Tenten realized she had left the beautiful boy waiting. “Oh…uh who-” But before she could finish, he pushed passed her. “Hey Hinata.” Tenten was taken aback. Was that her roommate's boyfriend?

“Oh Panda,” Hinata said, “This is my cousin, Neji.” Tenten sighed in relief. That was good, because her new goal was to become his girlfriend by the end of the semester.

Tenten turned around and walked back over to the couch. “Oh, nice to meet you.” She held out her hand. Neji's only respond was a slight nod. This made Tenten's tanned skin blush in embarrassment. Hinata rested her elbow on his shoulder, pulled her cell phone back out and started to mess around with it again. Judging by the noises, she was playing some kind of game. Tenten shook off her humiliation and walked into the kitchen. She was going to make herself a sandwich.

She reached into the pantry, but then noticed nothing was in it. She slapped herself in the forehead. “We don't have any food,”

So back into the sitting room she went, with a dumb look on her face. She was going to go grocery shopping.

“Hey Panda,” Hinata said to her as Neji snatched the remote out of her delicate hands. Tenten looked at her with the same dumb look she had when she walked into the room. “Huh?” She walked over to the lavender-eyed girl. “Me and Neji were going to go look around the campus. Wanna come?” Tenten was now sitting on the arm of the couch again. “Yeah, sure. And while we're doing that, I think I'll get us some food.” Hinata nodded and smiled. Tenten wanted to smile back, but her eyes wandered over to the boy sitting next to her.

He had such a pleasurable face, and his hair made her jealous. I mean she had her long brown hair, but she wanted that hair. It suited him well for a guy, though. It made him look, dare she say it, cute. It made him look angelic. It made him look…

Tenten's thoughts were interrupted by Hinata pulling her up and dragging her to the door. They both glanced at Neji, who was still watching TV. “Get up, Hyuga,” Hinata said demandingly. He turned to her slowly, smirked and stood. “Alright, fine.”

Hinata and Tenten both looked at the buildings in amazement. “They're so big,” Tenten said with a grin. Hinata nodded, her eyes wide. “I know, right?”

Neji walked silently beside Tenten, nodding whenever one of them said something. He made it visible that he wasn't interested. He glanced at Tenten, who was taking pictures with her phone. He smiled. She was so innocent and beautiful, but Neji knew she had an edge. He also knew how to get it out of her.

“Hey Hinata,” Tenten said to the raven. “Yeah?” Hinata looked at her. She pulled a red scrunchie out of her pocket and pulled her hair into a ponytail. “Put you're number into my phone.” She pulled her cell out of her pocket and tossed it over to Hinata. Hinata caught it. “Do the same.” She handed hers to Tenten, and they both punched their numbers in.

Tenten finished first.

“Let's take a picture so that it'll show up every time you call.” Hinata smiled and scooted close to her. “Neji, you get in, too.” Neji shrugged and scooted in as well. “Say `friends'!” The two girls smiled and domoed, but Neji put his arm around Tenten and smirked.

“Friends!”

Both Hyugas sat curled up on the couch watching TV. “So you just casually put you're arm around her?!” Hinata couldn't believe the picture Tenten sent to her before she left to go buy the groceries she forgot to get. “What wrong with that? I do that to you!” Neji snatched the remote from her once again. “I'm you're cousin. She's a girl you just met.”

Neji leaned on her shoulder and glared at the picture. He had to admit, Tenten was looking pretty cute. But did it really matter that he put his arm around her? Okay it was a girl he just met, but he could see himself with her. He could see them together. He could himself kissing her tenderly as she held him close. Well he had time to think about that later, but right now he just wanted to think about how hot she was.

“I'm gonna go, okay Hinata?” Neji said after ten minutes of daydreaming. He stood up and walked to the door. “Fine. Bye.” He tossed her a grin and walked out of the door. I swear that guy is into her.

Hinata propped her feet on the coffee table and picked up the remote. Neji had changed it to Smackdown. “I mean really, who watches wrestling?” She rolled her eyes and changed to Cartoonnetwork. “I do,” Tenten stood at the door with grocery bags in her hands. “But I prefer ECW and RAW…” She sat the groceries down by the door and walked over to the couch. Hinata smiled. “You're such a boy.” She stood up and walked over to the groceries. “Bye any chance, did you buy ramen?” Tenten walked over also. “You know it.” They both laughed.

Tenten was going to like college.
