Grand summoning Jutsu

Maya's eyes fluttered open to the sound of the chirping morning birds, and to the sound of the rustling tent she had shared with the young blond ninja of the Sand. She sat up as the front of the shelter opened and Temari poked her head in, "common sleepy head it's morning we need to get going" she smiled at the dark haired girl, her eyes still half shut from just being awakened.

"I'm sorry I had a long night" she paused "I didn't get much sleep, I was up late"

"well we need to get going so please hurry" the blond nodded and disappeared leaving the opening visible to allow the morning sun peak though.

Maya stretched her arms high above her head and woke herself with the stretching of her muscles. She began to crawl on all fours towards the door. Unzipping she crawled halfway out only to find a pair of feet standing in her way. She followed the feet to discover who was in her way, it was too early to be tolerating things like this so early in the morning. The young Kazeage was looking down at her with his light blue-green eyes with a flat look. Her eyes grew big with surprise "morning young Kazekage" she smiled.

"Gaara, is fine." he kept his gaze on her, it's the first time he got a good look at her eyes. He remembered the night before he could not see her facial features well due to it being dark. It was odd, her Iris' were of 2 different colors one, a brilliant Royal blue, the other a stunningly bright evergreen. The contrast between the two made it hard for him to take his eyes off them.

"OK," she paused once again. "Gaara" she smiled closing her eyes at the same time. She knew what he was looking at, she hated when people stared at her faults. It made her feel uneasy like they were judging her on the spot.

~interesting~ Gaara pondered as he moved himself from her path. ~interesting features indeed~

"I think we are ready to head out" shouted Temari. "are we ready?" only nods came from each traveler.

"Idiot" she yelled in Kankuro's direction, all eyes fell upon him, only to find his nose Berried back into his book. A small giggle came from Maya as the tall boy paid no mind to his loud mouth sister. "gah whatever, lets just go" said Temari. The 4 began the final hike to Konohagakure.

The Chunin Exams already started a month before the 3 had started out. Gaara was invite to the final test as a guest by the Konohagakure fifth Hokage, Tsunade . Gaara found her quiet interesting, her strength beyond that of many men, her temper to match. Fortunately he has never felt the wrath of this side of her upon himself but watched on the side lines on occasion as Naruto had his ear full. Her remarkable ability to heal any illness and broken bones. But he found most intolerant, the love of sake. He found her many times face down on her pile of work in her office drool dripping from the corner of her mouth from drinking a bit too much then falling asleep. Despite her being around 50 years old she look rather young. Supposing it was some sort of Jutsu that made her appear younger than she was, her blond hair and honey eyes, flawless completion, he never could understand woman and their obsession to look forever young.

The last of the journey remained silence for Gaara and his brother, the girls on the other hand never stopped talking the entire way walking a few strides ahead at all times. Sometimes catching them whispering to each other as if the conversation meant anything to the two straggling boys behind them.

"hey Temari" Maya hunched herself over Temari shoulder a bit "forgive me for saying this but...."

"out with it" Temari waited .

"your brother is really cute" she blushed hard with a small giggle.

"WHAT?" Temari responded. "I mean, what" lowering her voice once again "but he's a pervert dimwit" she glanced back at the two boys.

"not Kankuro" she sighed.

Temari's eyes widened "what? Really? Glancing back now at her younger brother. a sweat drop forming at the back of Gaaras' head watching the two girls whisper and occasionally glance back in his direction. "just don't tell him, I don't want him to be freaked out by some stranger he doesn't even know. Who knows I hope I get to know him better at this Exam thing." Maya and Temari both smiled at once in agreement.

Finally! They arrived at the gates of the Konohagakure. The 4 scanned the doors as they entered into the village. 2 men waiting at the entrance spoke up. "ahhh Lord Gaara" one ninja kneeled after coming out from his post. The other followed and did the same. "The Hokage has been awaiting you arrival" he spoke up again. "please proceed to her office."

Gaara looked the same staring down at the two men kneeled before him. "thank you" he said in a deep but quiet voice. He looked over at the young woman he had been traveling with to find her multi colored eyes staring at the men kneeled in respect for him.

"well, I suppose that's it then" Maya spoke in her sweet voice "thank you for allowing me to travel with you all, it's been a lot of fun " turning her eyes onto Gaara. "and it was nice to meet you all"

"ahhhw OK" Temari whined as she watched her friend start to walk away. "I'll see you later OK!"

Gaara only watched as the young brunette get lost in the crowds of the busy streets of the village. He said nothing to her ~ why not? a good bye, or see you again, anything!~

"don't worry" he heard the voice of his sister fill his ears "we are in the same town for awhile, you will see her again" he realized how hard he was looking after her, how he was trying to follow her very last move before disappearing.

"hum" he straightened himself and shot a look at his sister. " I don't know what you mean.I need to go meet the Hokage I will be back later" he walked from the entrance post down the same path he saw Maya walking a few minutes before.
