Grand Summoning Jutsu

He breathed heavily behind his tribal dog mask, the man had been standing on the platform looking down at the crowed for sometime now. Dressed in his dark uniform, the heat of the sun was beginning to attract to the material as the afternoon sun shone high overhead. His eyes and ears remained at full alert in the cheering commotion of the crowds. Of course everyone mostly attended the Exam to watch him, Naruto Uzumaki. ~it has been a long time~ thought the dark figure in the corner as he watched the tall blond boy in action. ~you have gotten good, these Exams seem to be a joke for you~ the moisture of this breath began to collect on the inside of the mask as his breath got heavier. ~ too bad my focus wasn't on you at the moment, I think I would have liked to see what you can really do~ a smile curled across his lips under the mask. He then drew his attention to the young woman a few rows away along the isle. Her head occasionally would glance back in his direction, perhaps to get a better look at the elite ninja.

"Hum, Temari?" questioned Maya.

"yeah?" the blond sand ninja answered.

"why is there only one ANBU on this level?"

Temari's glance fell behind her shoulder and looked at the single ninja. "Good question, that is weird. I'm sure there is a reason, the organizers are not stupid, they know what they are doing."

"I hope so" huffed Maya "I'm getting an odd feeling about him."

"not to worried" Sakura spoke up. "they have been preparing for months now, they know what they are doing."

"all right" her eyes once again fell on the battle below.

The crowed seemed to really be interested in Naruto, maybe because he was the only fighter worth watching. His time training with master Jiraiya, his fighting style has become much better. In his 2 years away his skills had risen beyond that of a Chunin. Maya found her self lost in the beat of the stadium every time the young man did sometime amazing, which happened quiet a lot.

"what a show off" spat Sakura.

"really? I think he is quiet good, and he knows how to play off the crowd" the brown haired girl giggled covering her mouth to try and stop it. She shot looks up at the young Kazekage once in awhile when she thought he might have been looking in her direction, the shelter of his hat concealed if he was or not. It didn't matter, it played to her imagination.

~now to see if this is really what I am looking for~ breathed the masked ninja standing in the back. "Sharingan" he breathed aloud, low enough so that close bystanders could not hear. His eyes tainted themselves red, 3 tear drop shapes around his pupil began to fixate on the young woman a few yards ahead. Her Aura was a soft mist green as her body became transparent to him. "there it is" he breathed. The soft glow of a scroll levitating within her was now viable from all angles to him. The scroll draped itself in a slight light green fire, he figured for protection.

At that moment Maya jumped to her feet she felt something strange in the air, someone was watching her it was freighting to her.

"what's wrong with you?" asked Temari with a confused look.

"n-nothing, I think, I just..... I need to go to the washroom." her eyes now full of fear looking dead ahead, her tiny fingers to her mouth as if to snuff out her screams. Her breathing was heavier now, and she was panting like out of breath as though she finished one of her long morning jogs. "I'm sorry." she turned quickly and made her way up the steps to the platform only to make her way out of the area. Temari stood to watch as her friend take off on a fast walk, in shock.

Gaara, watching from his chair by the Hokage monitored everything that was happening, he did not move. He knew if he made a commotion over nothing it would work up the people and start a ruckus. His fist clenched on the arm of the chair where it lie watching the girl make her way swiftly to the exit. It was only when he noticed the ANBU agent follow her a safe distance behind, his attention was completely on the situation. The ninja dressed in black picked up his pace when the small girl disappeared through the exit.

"I'll be right back" he spoke firmly. But before Tsunade had a chance to respond the young man had darted from his seat and vanished.

"hum, odd" she pondered.

Gaara paused himself behind the wall that parted the high seats where he sat to the exit from this area. His sand began to creep its way around his feet and in a gust it engulfed his entire body, in a swirl of the blood tainted sand he disappeared without a trace.

The masked covered ninja followed the young girl, he was loosing sight of her she moved much faster than he did. She appeared to be running at a full sprint now. ~she knows I'm here~ he grunted. Just as he was about to dash after her a rush of sand fell few feet in front of him, in a grand swirl a figure appeared.

"What is your purpose here" demanded the figure.

"I don't have time for you" the muffled voice of the man behind the mask was now crouched in his attack position. The sand cleared revealing the tall frame of the Kazekage. He remembered the Kazekage had been killed years before at the Chunin Exams he had attended, and that this one must be who had taken his place. "get out of my way." The figure stood between him and his pray, she was getting away. The ninja felt the beaded feeling of sand weaving between his toes around his feet. He tipped his head down to notice the sand was moving all on it's own wrapping it's self around him. "Gaara?" a shocked voice came from the mask.

Gaara of course confused, had no Idea who this person was. Reaching up he removed his rice hat and revealed his true face. His light blue-green eyes glared at the ANBU ninja. "Who are you" he demanded once more. "what is so important about the girl?"

"I didn't know they were allowing blood thirsty psycho paths as Kages' now." putting his fingers together creating a hand sign. "It is my business what I am doing here, but I see you are not going to make it easy for me." with his last words echoing though the long hall way he vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving the sand grasping at the air.

"how, confusing" stated Gaara crossing his arms over his chest. He looked over his shoulder where Maya had frantically dashed out. "very confusing"

~*~*~*~

Maya sat in the corner of her bathroom, her knees to her chest and arms wrapped around them tightly. She was frightened beyond belief, she never felt the feeling she had just felt 30 minutes ago. It was cold, bloody something more she could not put her finger on. Rocking back and forth she tried to shake the feeling that lingered within.

Her breathing finally became slower and the feeling was disappearing, she was beginning to calm herself down as time past. "what was that. Out of all my time on this earth, I've never felt that before. I don't even know what it was." she kept telling herself. "but I should know." tears began to emerge from the corners of her eyes as the thoughts continued and the reminisce of the feelings that was left with her.

The sun was now setting in the sky, the last part of day was escaping between the trees surrounding the village. Gaara had stopped in front of the young girls residence staring up at the bright light coming from her window. He just wanted to make sure she had gotten home safe and sound. "hum," he spoke under his breath "looks like I'm not the only one who is Interested with you" he stated flatly, his Kage robes caught a gust of wind as he continued on his path to her front door.

*knock knock* the sound of a gentle rattle on the door made Maya's head spring from her knees. She lifted herself from her position on the floor in her bathroom, to her feet. "who could that be...." Her voice trailed off with a quiver. She tried to whip the remaining tears from her eyes as best she could before opening the door. *knock knock* "I'm coming" she reached for the knob and swung the door open.
