Before the story- Sakura and Lee had started to go out about two months after the fire. The sand village had allied themselves with the Leaf and Gaara had become the Kazekage. Choji and Ino had goten together after Temari and Shikamaru became a couple.

 

 

 

 

 

`Strange turn of advents and the dream of tomorrow'

 

 

 

“So you still want to stay here?” Sakura said after she had eaten her ramen with disdain.

 

“Yeah it's 10,000 each and I don't know about you two but I need some money.” Shikamaru said.

 

“Yeah you need to buy presents for Temari.” Naruto said smirking.

 

“I wouldn't be speaking lover boy. I know you and Hinata have gone out a couple of times.” Sakura said earning a gasp from them both.

 

“How did you know?” Naruto said.

 

“Come on it's obvious you two like each other like Lee likes me.” Sakura finished a smug smile on her lips.

 

“Yeah but I feel sorry for Choji. Man he has to hang out with Ino all the time now.” Shikamaru said.

 

“I also think Neiji and ten ten should get together.” Naruto said through a mouth full of noodles.

 

“Naruto you idiot they are together. Where have you been?” Sakura said walking out of the kitchen with Shikamaru.

 

Naruto looked at them puzzled. “What? Did I say something?” Naruto said confused.

 

Naruto got up and also headed out. He was still puzzled about that weird dream he had with Sasuke and all.

 

“Hey Sakura!” Naruto yelled out when he saw them but they didn't turn around instead they stayed perfectly still like they had just seen a ghost or something.

 

“What are you…” Naruto stopped dead in his tracks as he also saw what they where staring at.

 

Right in front of them on the stairs was a male who had short black hair and dark eyes. He was at least 6'foot. He was just staring at them.

 

Sakura knew who this was it was Sasuke's dad and he was staring at them like he wanted to kill them all.

 

“Get ready.” Naruto said taking a defensive stance.

 

“Naruto you idiot there ghosts! What do want to do talk them to death.” Sakura said backing up along with Shikamaru.

 

“Why can't we just exorcist them or something? Naruto said

 

“Yeah sure and how do you plan on doing that genius.” Shikamaru spat.

 

Naruto was about to retort when he looked back up at the stairs to see that the guy had disappeared.

 

“Hey he's gone.” Naruto said looking at Sakura.

 

Sakura and Shikamaru looked back at the stairs and sure enough there was nobody there.

 

“Naruto look out!” Sakura said running at Naruto. He turned to see what she was yelling about when he saw a flying kunai coming right at him. Before he could do anything Sakura tackled him to the floor letting the weapon fly harmlessly by their heads.

 

“Shikamaru are you alright?” Sakura called over to him. He was also on the floor.

 

“I'm fine but this is really starting to get troublesome. How about we ditch this place.” He said.

 

“I think I will agree with you there.” Sakura said getting up.

 

“Come on you guys lets just wait a little more. I have never backed down from a job before and I refuse to start now.” Naruto said also getting up.

 

“You can't be serious! You would risk all are lives so you could get a perfect on your job?” Sakura said hitting Naruto on the head.

 

“Hey it's a matter of principle.” Naruto shot back.

 

Shikamaru walked up to Naruto and grabbed his collar. “Screw you and your ethics Naruto. We need to get out of here and now.” He said pushing Naruto down.

 

Naruto got up fast and decked Shikamaru in the face breathing hard. Shikamaru stumbled a little while Sakura screamed for them to stop.

 

Naruto looked at Shikamaru losing his anger and now was feeling very guilty that he would actually attack a friend.

 

“Sorry.” Naruto said tersely walking towards the door.

 

“Naruto stop right there and don't move!” Sakura said behind him.

 

Naruto turned around to see what they where talking about when he saw yet another ghost. The thing looked like Sasuke for a minute but on a second glance he saw that he was older.

 

He had long dark hair that was matted with blood and dark eyes with lines coming down to his nose. His body was all bloody and he was holding a shuriken in one hand.

 

All three of them imminently inched towards the door afraid that the thing would attack them but the image again disappeared right in front of their eyes.

 

“Well what are you waiting for let's get the hell out of here.” Naruto said quickly opening the door only to find deep pain in his shoulder.

 

He looked down and saw a kunai imbedded there. His blood was starting to seep there his shirt.

 

Sakura and Shikamaru ran towards Naruto now seriously freaked out. Sakura grabbed Naruto and Shikamaru opened the door for all three of them to ran out.

 

“What happened! Ghosts aren't supposed to attack like that.” Sakura said still dragging a dazed Naruto.

 

“Well apparently that one can. Come on we need to go back to the village and report this.” Shikamaru said jumping on the abandoned rooftops with Sakura and Naruto right behind him.

 

When they got to the gate they sped there it not looking back as they disappeared into the forest.

 

If they did look back they would have seen three figures at the front door of the manor smiling.

 

 

When they had finally reached the village they were dead on their feet. Sakura had already healed Naruto's shoulder and now they where going to report to the Hokage.

 

Naruto looked around the village feeling extremely weak and sick. He thought he was going to fall at any minute.

 

Sakura looked back at Naruto and got worried. He didn't look good and he was staggering everywhere. Sakura took Naruto's arm and shook him lightly.

 

“Naruto you should go home. Let me and Shikamaru tell the Hokage what has happened.” She said putting her hand on his forehead.

 

“Fine, I guess I'll see you guys later.” Naruto said walking towards his apartment while the other two just stared in his direction.

 

When he finally got to his apartment he started to feel a little better. Naruto opened his door and walked into the kitchen dropping his equipment on the counter before going into the living room and plopping down on the old beat up couch.

 

He started to think about what he saw was actually true with the ghosts. He even got a damn shuriken in his shoulder to prove that but if that was true then so was seeing Sasuke.

 

Naruto shuddered at that thought before turning on the TV. Like always there was nothing on and he wasn't really paying attention to it anyway so he got up wanting to take a shower to get cleaned.

 

Naruto was half way there when he heard a creaking noise behind him. He turned ready to fight only to see nothing.

 

Come on Naruto get a hold of yourself. There's nothing here. Satisfied with that Naruto started to walk again only to hear laughing. He looked around again puzzled because he didn't see anything again.

 

“Am I finally losing it” Naruto said scratching his head.

 

`Now that would be funny' someone said. Naruto ran into the kitchen grabbing a shuriken before looking around again.

 

“Who ever you are stop playing around and show yourself.” Naruto commanded still looking around.

 

`You know you look very stupid right now.' The voice taunted.

 

Naruto now breathing hard had enough with this shit. “Where are you bastard! Fight like a man.” Naruto yelled.

 

The voice only laughed at Naruto. `First off I'm right here and second I can't technically fight you.' The voice said.

 

To Naruto the voice sounded like it was every where at once laughing and taunting him.

 

`You really are dumb. I thought you would catch on by now Dobe.'

 

Naruto now freaked out backed away. This was not possible. Sasuke was… is dead. So why was he hearing his voice? Was he seriously going insane?

 

“Sa… Sasuke?” Naruto said slowly, dreading the answer.

 

`Ha I knew you were smarter then that.' Sasuke said and Naruto could just picture the asshole smirking.

 

“Your supposed to be dead and on top of that aren't you supposed to be back at the manor with all your other friends haunting the place.” Naruto said sneering. He had enough of this shit with people messing with him.

 

Naruto felt himself being lifted then thrown practically across the room. Getting up a little shakily making a groaning noise he cursed himself silently for pissing off a ghost.

 

Naruto heard a second sound towards the living room only to see Sasuke looking at him. This time Sasuke looked normal with his dark eyes and hair. He was wearing the same clothes but they looked new and weren't bloody.

 

“Stay away from me!” Naruto said backing up until his back hit the wall while Sasuke casually walked up to Naruto.

 

`Get out of the village' Sasuke said now only a foot away from Naruto.

 

“What the hell are you talking about.” Naruto said watching, as Sasuke only grew closer to him.

 

`Get out' was all he said before vanishing.

 

Naruto tried to walk but found that he was staggering until he finally fell on the hard cold floor fast asleep.

 

 

Naruto woke up only to see that the sun was setting over the mountain. He sat up looking around to be shocked. His whole apartment looked like shit. The windows were broken and everything was practically turned over. The TV was on the floor smashed as well as his door gone.

 

What the hell happened? Naruto thought getting up. He could see dust on his things like no one had lived hear for awhile.

 

Naruto quickly went over to the kitchen to get his weapons only to discover that they were no where to found. He then turned towards the door.

 

Ok just calm down and go outside to ask someone what the hell is going on. Naruto stepped out looking at the village.

 

The wind was blowing gently caring a small leaf towards Naruto and in the background you could see that almost every building was falling apart. The Hokage tower was gone nothing left but debris. The ninja academy had huge holes all over it.

 

Naruto couldn't believe what he was seeing. He started to walk in a daze at the destruction of the place. The sun was hitting the buildings just perfect to look like the whole place was on fire.

 

All the shops were destroyed littering the ground and not a soul could be found. Naruto turned only to see that the monument was also in ruin with the first and second Hokage completely gone. The third had half of his face and the fourth wasn't too good off either.

 

The gates to the now ruined village looked like they were blasted away. But what was really scary was that you could see grave upon grave littered everywhere.

 

“What happened” Naruto whispered. Everyone he knew was gone dead and he didn't even know whom. Naruto could feel wetness on his cheek only to find out it was tears.

 

He fell to his knees to shocked to do anything and screamed out cursing everything and anything.

Naruto felt a slap on his face that instantly woke him up only to find Sakura and Hinata looking at him worried.

 

Sakura had seen Naruto on the floor screaming and crying in his sleep. She had to do something so she slapped him hard. Now Naruto was sitting up slowly shaking while Hinata was trying to comfort him.

 

“What happened Naruto” Hinata said quietly hugging him.

 

Naruto looked up and you could practically see how scared he was. He only hugged Hinata tighter like his life depended on it.

 

“Hinata I think we should put him on his bed.” Sakura said taking an arm while Hinata took the other leading Naruto towards the bed.

 

After they took him to his bedroom Hinata stayed and watched over him while Sakura left.

 

A couple of hours later Naruto woke up only to find Hinata also sleeping in a chair right by his bed. Naruto had to smile at her. She looked so peaceful. He was still seeing some of the images of the nightmare but pushed them back before siting up and shaking Hinata softly.

 

“Hinata you should go home now. Thank you for what you did.” Naruto said kissing her softly.

 

Hinata got up and smiled before leaving. Naruto was watching her go before he also got up and walked towards the living room turning on the TV trying not to think.

 

The words that Sasuke had said still echoed in his mind. “Get out.” What did he mean by that? Why did he have that horrible dream? He just didn't know and hoped he wouldn't find out either…

 

 

A week later

 

 

Naruto was just getting back from his assignment. He was thinking about what Tsunade had said. Even though they didn't complete the mission on the Uchiha manor they all still got paid the 10,000 and then Tsunade wrote the report off that no one was allowed to go in the house on the account of the incidents.

 

On a second note Naruto didn't have anymore dreams and he didn't see Sasuke. All in all he was pretty happy. He and Hinata had announced that they were going to get married. That happened about five days ago and everyone was still congratulating them.

 

Naruto walked into his apartment took off his weapons and carelessly throwing them towards the living room before taking a shower.

 

When he was done he did his routine thing by eating ramen and watching TV before going to bed.

 

Later that night Naruto shot up looking around. He could have sworn he heard something. Thinking it was just him he laid back down only to shoot back up. He heard the noise again. It sounded like a click.

 

Naruto got up and stealthily walked towards his door. What he saw scared him. There in the living room was a figure moving around. He had on a black mask and dark clothes. Naruto quickly turned back into his room making sure the figure couldn't see him.

 

He then looked around the room for some weapons and cursed himself for being stupid and leaving them on the couch.

 

He didn't know who this was and frankly he didn't want to find out. Taking a quick breath Naruto looked around again to see if the coast was clear and lucky for him it was. He ran towards the kitchen and ducked low so the figure couldn't see him.

 

Naruto then watched the figure walk towards his room. Naruto didn't know if there was one or more of them so he had to be cautious. He was getting ready to attack when he felt pain in his head.

 

`Don't attack you idiot' A voice said but Naruto knew who it was.

 

“Sasuke leave me alone” Naruto whispered.

 

`I told you to leave Dobe but no you just ignored me' Sasuke shot back.

 

“Damn you Sasuke stop calling me that you asshole. I'm trying to concentrate on killing this guy.” Naruto shot back getting angry.

 

`Did you listen to me? Get out now before he spots you and leave the village.” Sasuke said. Naruto suddenly felt pain again in his mind only this time it felt like knives digging into his brain.

 

Naruto had to stop a whimper because it hurt so much.

 

“Fine just stop it.” Naruto gritted out. The pain then slowly edged away into nothing.

 

`Now leave the village and take some people with you. I don't care who and you had better do it quick.' Sasuke said while Naruto was looking around to make sure the coast was clear. He didn't know why Sasuke wanted him to leave or take his friends.

 

After seeing that the coast was clear Naruto ran as fast as he could towards the door not looking back.

 

He started running on the rooftops of the village heading in the direction of the Hyuuga estates. On the way he slipped in Sakura's room.

 

Naruto silently walked towards her bed before tapping lightly on her shoulder.

 

“What's going on?” Sakura said sleepily looking up to find Naruto in his pajamas.

 

“No time to talk Sakura. I want you to find Shikamaru and then wait at the edge of the forest. Don't tell anyone else.” Naruto said before disappearing.

 

Naruto again started jumping on the rooftops looking every where for the enemy before stopping at Hinata's window.

 

“Hey Hinata wake up.” Naruto said shaking her. She opened her eyes and looked up at Naruto puzzled.

 

“What are…” She was cut off with Naruto's hand on her mouth.

 

“Look I need you to get ready as fast as you can and don't tell anyone. Meet me at the edge off the forest.” Naruto said jumping out of the window.

 

Ok now all I have to do is warn the old hag Naruto thought going in that direction.

 

`No! You can't warn her.' Sasuke cut in making Naruto stop.

 

“Why not.” Naruto said.

 

`You just can't Dobe. Now leave before they spot you' Sasuke said but Naruto made no move.

 

“No I will not just leave without telling her. If I were to do that then that would mean I would become a missing-nin.” Naruto said defiantly.

 

Naruto again started to move towards the tower only to stop when Sasuke suddenly appeared in his way.

 

Naruto not thinking charged at the bastard only to see Sasuke go right through him before he felt his world black out.

 

 

 

( What's going to happen now? Will they leave the village and become missing-nins?)

 

Music - I again was playing Staind because I like the songs especially “Cross the Bear”.
