Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Hidden Emotions ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )

This is my first fanfic ever! So, yes, critique! But don't hurt my feelings :p Also, if you are not caught up on current events concerning Naruto (anime, not manga) there may be spoilers. But then again, there may not. I'm not sure ^_^ I haven't written in a very long time so it might be very simple at the beginning but may get more detailed as I continue and get the hang of it again. Like riding a bike, right? NOT.

It's been almost 3 years since Sasuke's return from Orochimaru's grasp. He stayed closed off from everything; everyone. He only spoke to people when it was absolutely necessary. Sasuke had witnessed horrible things. He held so much in for so long. Sasuke knew he seemed emotionless. He wished he had been. Even now, he still held back. He held everything back. He was more distant than usual. Sasuke knew his friends loved him. He knew they missed him. He knew they risked their lives for him more times than he was worth. And he also knew they'd have done it 100 times more if necessary. He loved them and missed them the same as they had him. But Sasuke never let on. It got more difficult as time went on, though. So he trained alone. He ate alone. He lived alone. He requested to do missions alone. Or at least without people he had been close to in the past. Tsunade-sama sometimes disregarded this request but sometimes she didn't. When Sasuke did see them he did not speak to them. He fought. He watched. He captured. He did what the mission required but like a true shinobi, he showed no emotion. Ever. Sasuke was more Sasuke than ever.

Sasuke knew he had stayed distant for too long. Tsunade had put him back on Kakashi's team. It had been long enough, she told him. He needed to be on a team and contribute steadily to Konoha. They way Konoha had for him. He knew she was right. He knew they had spent countless months, years even, on missions for Sasuke's sake. Gathering information; fighting Sound village ninja; searching for clues, scents, anything. It was only fair for Sasuke to give it all back. But be on a team? With Sakura, Naruto, and Kakashi? It had been so long. 7 years, maybe. Of course, Sasuke was much stronger than he has been than. Hell, they all were. Sasuke thought about this as he tied his new forehead protector around his head. It had been given to him by Hokage-sama to prepare him for the rejoining of his old team. It was like his old one, but black. He never received his old forehead protector. He had never even seen it again since the day he and Naruto fought at the waterfall. It had rested on the ground next to Naruto's defeated body. The rain cried for them that day. He remembered because so did he.
