RING. RING. RING. "shuddup, I'm trying to sleep..." I muttered sleepily, throwing a rock at my alarm clock, sufficiently shutting it up. DING DONG. "oh, come on," I shouted angrily. jumping out of bed and into my gi, I went out to open the door, and my eyes widened when I saw the only people I cared anything about, Sakeru Takeda and Fergosa Maxero standing there. see, I was an orphan, and my real name is Esuna Eon, but at age 10, I left the orphanage and dissapeared for 3 years. Takeda and her family took me in, but at age 13 I left under a new name, Orphen, to find out where my parents lived. turns out the orphanage owed me a lot of money, according to my parents' will. so I went back to the orphanage, they compared the signatures on the will and the papers that signed me off, and although they were reluctant, I, er, "convinced" them to give me the money they owed me. then I bought this house and the few worldly possesions in it, and the following week I joined the academy. 1 year later, and here we are. coming back to earth, I said, "oh, hey Kat, Max!", reffering to their nicknames. "did you somehow forget that today was the final exam, Orphen?" she asked, careful not to use my real name. "but it's only-" I broke off, looking at my clock, and finding that I had less than 60 seconds to get there. I yelped and we ran for it, just making it into class before the last bell ended. "okay, class, first there will be a practical, then the physical exam. the practical begins right now, and the physical right afterwards. now for the practical, question: these people that you've trained and bonded with for the past year are your friends, correct?" almost everyone agreed. "all of you who said yes are WRONG! now for the physical exam." the sensei took us into the arena. "okay, for the physical exam, the one who lives, graduates. your opponent, everyone else in the ring." he said casually, as though giving out homework. I whispered to Kat and Max, "stay alive until only the three of us are left," and they nodded fearfully. the sensei said, "ready? BEGIN!" and I was off, dispatching the first five, who were still freaking out about having to kill everyone, with a giant shuriken, then quickly proceeded to another group. all to soon, all that was left was me, Max, and Kat, that and pools of blood splattered everywhere. Kat had a slash across her chest, but luckily her undershirt was untorn, to save her the humiliation of exposed breasts. Max was showing signs of real shiners, and I myself was sporting a black eye, and a broken rib or two. we were all staring each other down, preparing to strike, when we all turned to the sensei and pulled out our strongest Jutsu: me with the water clone jutsu, Max with the hidden mist jutsu, and Kat with the water dragon jutsu. the fool didn't know what hit him. he was a jonin, and he was LITERALLY obliterated by three not-yet genins in a matter of seconds. turning to the sensei's assistant, I simply said, "headbands, NOW." and either out of fear or respect, he obeyed without hesitation. three minutes later, he returned with three headbands. while tying mine on, I told him, "listen, it's time for new rules: there will be no more killing in this academy, or we'll return to do some killing of our own, UNDERSTOOD?" he nodded, a dark patch appearing at his crotch. "well, we graduated, so now what?" I asked, already bored. "I wanna meet the ones who beat Gato! with him still around, there's no way your plan would have worked, Orphen!" said Max excitedly. "alright then, It's decided! we're off to the land of fire!"

LITTLE DID WE KNOW, THIS WAS JUST ONE OF THE MANY PLACES WE WOULD BE TRAVELING. TOGETHER, WE WOULD CHANGE THE WORLD, AND REVIVE THE ORIGINAL REASONS THE NINJAS WERE BORN: TO PROTECT. OTHERS WOULD JOIN OUR CAUSE, INCLUDING NARUTO AND CO., BUT THE JOURNEY WAS JUST BEGINNING, BUT FOR NOW, WE CELEBRATED OUR FIRST VICTORY BY CROSSING THE BRIDGE, LEAVING THE ISLAND WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, AND WHERE IT WOULD ALL END.
