Chapter 1: Good times
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nakama fidgeted in her seat. She was always so impatient. She was sitting at a table, waiting for her two best friends to come. The three girls were at a party for the kids who used to go to the academy. Everyone now was probably around the age of 18, but that’s only going by looks.
“Sorry we’re late!” Sakura and Hinata called to Nakama, who was only two minutes away from a major freak out. “Its okay. At least you’re here, right?” She asked, not really caring for an answer. “Yeah.” They both said. “Well, come on! Lets go dance!” Nakama said happily.
They all got on the dance floor, and started dancing. Nakama was one of the best dancers in the world, well, according to Sakura she was. Soon, though, all those drinks had gotten to Nakama, and nature called for her. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom.” “Okay.” the two girls responded. She tried as best as she could to stay up, but people kept pushing into her. Luckily, she made it through and got to the bathroom.
***********
When she was done using the bathroom, she went to fix her makeup. Normally she would never wear makeup, but it was a party, so she wanted to look her best. She took one last look in the mirror and left.
She walked back to where she last saw her friends, but they were gone. She checked everywhere for them, but she could not find them. "Guys? Where are you?" She called. She checked the TV room, the snack table, everywhere. But still couldn't find them. She got upset at them. How dare they leave her like that! It aggravated her, so she went to go get a drink.
She sipped the soda, which tasted funny. Hmmmm..... I wonder.... she thought, but she didn’t really care about the taste. She was just too upset. She took another cup full of soda, not caring about the empty glass bottles right next to the table. Probably from some stupid people trying to kill themselves. She drank it all in two gulps. She took another, another two gulps. Another one, this one only one gulp. She then just started drinking right out of the bottle, not caring if people stared. She finished the whole bottle in about two seconds. She now felt somewhat better, but she felt a little dizzy.
*************
She tried walking over to the door, but found it hard to walk. She limped about five feet, then fell over flat on her face. She tried to get up, but she couldn’t even lift herself up an inch off the ground. What is wrong with me? Why can’t I get up? Am I drunk? She asked herself. She kept trying to pick herself up off the ground, but to no avail. She started crying. She didn’t understand what was going on.
Nakama had never been drunk before. She swore she would never touch alcohol, ever. She had sworn off alcohol because a friend of hers was a heavy drinker, but of course he died. He had died of alcohol poisoning. She never wanted that to happen to her.
She continued on crying and reaching out for someone. She thought that this was going to be the end. She thought she was dying. Well, to Nakama, this was the end. It felt as if she was going to die.
But just then a voice said something. But what was it saying? Is that voice calling me? She thought. “Nakama? Nakama, are you alright?” the voice said. She reached up and grabbed the person for support. It sounded like a male voice, and it sounded familiar to her. But she couldn’t see very well, the alcohol had blurred her vision. All she could she was the shape of a person, and that’s all she needed to see to know that this person cared about her, and why she was upset.
She hugged the person, crying into his chest. He rubbed her back, in an attempt to calm her down. “It’s alright. It’s alright. You’ll be fine Nakama.” He said. She whispered into his chest, “I love you.” To which he said, “C-come on, let’s get you home.” He picked her up and began to carry her back to her apartment. When they were outside and out of earshot, he whispered, “I love you too, Nakama.”
