Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ I Hate You ❯ "Prove it." ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
He just wanted sleep to come.

Was it such a hard thing to ask for?
The pain that reverberated through and around his spinal column kept him conscious, drowning him in dark, muddled thoughts.
His chapped lips were parted as he breathed heavily from the fatigue that was slowly setting in. Or was it pain? He wasn't sure anymore. But after what felt like hours (or minutes, possibley) eyelids grew mercifully heavy and he let his head droop forward. Hair that was as dark as night spilled over his shoulders and along his forehead. Raven hair, a large contrast to his skin which glowed like alabaster. Eyes still closed, his long lashes brushed his pale cheeks as he let out a groan in frusteration. It wouldn't come. It refused to come. Refused to release him from this hell called reality.

Shifting awkwardly, the bound boy tried to adjust himself into a more comfortable position. This was nearly impossible, his hands being bound behind him in such away that each hugged an elbow, the intricate knotting on the ropes that confined him damned near impossible to unty. He had tried so many times only to have his resolve crumble and his strength deminish. The protective seal that had been placed upon the ropes remained strong, a glow in the darkness that he could not see. And he simply could not waste energy on something that was so obviously futile. But, of course, he had made it that way. He had seen to it personelly that his arms were bound securely (to feign off resistance, surely) behind his back and the starvation during the last few days (had it even been a day?) would keep him weak. His unbound legs refused to move at will, and as Uchiha Sasuke thought about it, he didn't dare move.

As if drawn by Sasuke's musings, the tall form of his elder brother materialized in the doorway. The room which had been dark for however long he'd been there suddenly filled with a bright white light . As it filtered in through the space behind his brothers silouhette, he turned his head. Squeezing his eyelids together, he forced the bile down his throat and focused on the presence of his brother. The door drifted closed and he parted his lids to look to where he knew his brother would still be standing. Sure enough, intuition prevailed and Itachi stood motionless, encased in shadows. A dull glow situated around his eyes. Blood red eyes posessed by the sharingan.

"Sasuke."

His name was spoken with apathy. Simple, one would assume. But he knew Itachi too well.
As he advanced, the younger boy barely managed to stifle a wince. He flexed his fingers instictivley, prepared to gather up what little strength he had left. If Itachi tried anything, he would use what chakra he could summon against him and do the rest with his hands. If I have to kill him like this, I will.

And it was obvious that despite his fear, Sasuke was seething inwardly.
"You never change, do you, little brother."
It wasn't a question but an observation. And this observation pissed Sasuke off.
He had changed. He was no longer the little boy Itachi had left behind. Throughout the years, his despise for the older had molded him into a thing that was incapable of feeling. Something that was not solely Sasuke's fault (what with his withdrawal from others). Itachi had contributed to this immensley when he'd destroyed the youngers life. Such a simple act, really. A mere swing of the katana and all was demolished. His life and their relationship. They had been so close. So close. And thinking back? He was disgusted to have ever truly trusted him, truly loved him. The hatred that had grown with every passing day threatened to explode inside of Sasuke, and a snarl ripped through his lips.
"You bastard," he groweled. "what have you done to Naruto?"

The question surprised even him. The concern he felt for the dobe was evident, but Sasuke was very careful about how he displayed his emotions. Especially infront of his brother. Despite the high collar of his cloak, Itachi's eyes flickered momentarily and although he could not see his expression, Sasuke knew. He just knew that he was smirking.
"Don't be concerned about him; he's alive." The end of the sentence, although unspoken, was prominent in the heavy silence between them. For now.

"You however, I'm not so certain about."

Sasuke didn't know if it was the way he had said it, the hand that was oustretched towards him (those damned nails gleaming black even in the poor light of the room) or both, but with an angry hiss, his palms elicited large amounts of elecrtic blue chakra, the very essence lighting up the darkened confines of the room. Itachi merely blinked and in one swift movement (too swift for Sasuke's eyes) had him down on the ground, a palm pressed securely on his lower back. Chidori sputtered and then died out completely leaving Sasuke feeling light-headed and feverish, even as his face was pressed against the cool cement floor.

The warm breath on the back of his neck caused him to jolt violently, and the hand on his back only pressed down more firmly. Writhing underneathe his brothers hand in an attempt to sit up, the pressure increased and he heard Itachi chuckle somewhere behind him. "It's useless," he murmured, leaning over his back to whisper in his ear. "you're still too weak to kill me, little brother."

"Fuck you, Uchiha." he snarled, refusing to speak the others name out loud. And then, Itachi did something utterly and entirely unexpected. He laughed. It was chilling, disturbing and completely out of character. Sasuke couldn't help but shiver; he did not like that sound. As his laugh died in his throat, the remnants still bouncing off the barren walls of the room , Sasuke's mind was painfully alert. Itachi's hand still remained on his back but seemed relaxed now. Relaxed enough to move? The cocky bastard shouldn't under-estimate him. Especially him.

Strong fingers wove themselves through Sasuke's hair and with an unrelenting grip, he was yanked back to his knees.
Gritting his teeth as his head was pulled even farther back , Sasuke froze as the tip of a kunai pressed into his exposed throat.
"Your skin is so soft," Itachi stated as he ran the blade's edge along the main artery in his neck. He could feel the pinch as the blade bit into flesh, seperating the skin. Blood swelled to the surface and Itachi leaned in and brushed his lips across the shallow wound.

"What the fuck?" Sasuke groweled in disgust as he lurched back. Itachi spun on his haunches and in one fluid movement, pinned Sasuke's back up against the wall, large hand splayed on the front of his chest. Long, narrow fingers held him in place and with a
practiced ease, he slipped the kunai into the depths of his sleeve. Leaning closer to him, Itachi's eyes wandered over Sasuke's face and then, as if searching his eyes, whispered "You don't hate me enough.".
His mouth was close to Sasuke's. Too close. He could feel his breath as he spoke and he grimaced.
"You have no idea how much I hate you," Sasuke snarled through bared teeth. "how long I've waited to have your blood on my hands."

Itachi cocked a brow but his eyes remained expressionless. All else was lost beyond the high wall of his cloak, something that served as a mask although he'd perfected the act of stoicism years ago.

"Somehow I don't see that happening."

He sounded amused despite the lack of expression on his features, and as he spoke, his hand moved along the ropes that bound the boys arms behind his back. Pools of darkness fixed onto crimson orbs that held more then just insanity. To his credit, Sasuke didn't flinch as Itachi's hand roamed up his back and to his neck. As he was pulled closer to Itachi, they remained completely still, mouths nearly touching as they observed one another in tense silence.

"I hate you," Sasuke breathed finally, his voice a thick whisper in the discontinued quiet.
He didn't know what he expected; a reply possibley? That was unlikely.
But the ache in his chest reminded him that he had indeed been holding his breath. Exhaling slowly, he fought the urge to look away as Itachi's gaze bore into his. And slowly, ever so slowly, Itachi leaned closer and pressed his lips to Sasuke's ear.

"Prove it."

And then, the rope fell free.

A/N: Alright, I'll be the first to admit. It isn't my best work. And I have no idea what Naruto is about. xD. I mean, I have some knowledge on Itachi and Sasuke because they are one of my faviroute pairings, but aside from that I'm afraid I'm a bit clueless. Anyways, if I have something wrong or left something out, feel free to let me know. Please READ AND REVIEW. The previous will determine if I actually decide to write the next part of this one-shot. =3 Thanks.
