Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ I'm Not Foolish [[Uchiha]] Feelings ❯ The Deaths of A Thousand ( Chapter 11 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Yaku stared down upon the dying Itachi. “Forgive me …” She then walked away with Kabuto.

That Night

“Yaku where in the heavens are you?” Kabuto cried out after an hour had gone by of her sitting in the bath room. “Are you ok?”

Yaku sat there listing to his cries not daring to answer.

“Yaku?”

She sighed and stood up hiding the kunai knife in the weapons pouch strapped to her leg. “Coming Kabuto!”

Kabuto sighed and laid back falling asleep the split second his head touched the pillow.

Yaku walked out of the bath room and saw him asleep, she took out the kunai, closed her eyes, and thrust the kunai through Kabuto's venerable chest, he awoke only long enough to mutter the words; “Why … why Yaku?” ,before he passed on to the afterlife.

Yaku looked down upon the bloody mess that lay before her. “Keep dreaming Kabuto, no matter what … I love Itachi … I know what is destined for us now … but I can't help but feel pity towards you … you feel in love with some one you were never able to have … now it's you turn to see just how far you've fallen.” Yaku walked out of the house in the middle of the forest of death right as ANBU showed up and ceased her.

“Let go of me you big ugly-“Her sentence was broken off by a man wearing a wolf mask wrapping a gag tightly around her mouth.

Another man, this one wearing an eagle's mask tied her legs up with the help of a dog mask wearer.

Panic shot through Yaku's eyes as they teleported her back to Konoha, right into the clutches of the third Hokage, Sarutoby.

“So … those rumors are true … the assassin of the Akatsuki is none other than Yaku Hamagichi.” Sarutoby said in a melancholy voice.

“Where's Itachi?” Yaku blurted out

“He's in the hands of the best medical-nin around.”

“Why are you going to heal him if he's going to die?”

“Yaku, no matter what, you're my grand daughter and I must respect the fact that my own daughter gave birth to you, she died with one wish, for you to have a happy life and I must grant that by letting you see your one true love again, even though Yaku, you know you're not destined to be with him … but I still must follow the laws and you and Itachi Uchiha will be executed at dawn.”

Tears welled up in her eyes, her mouth turned bone dry, and she found it very hard to speak. “I … I …”

The Hokage stood up and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her whispering the following last words before walking out of the room. “Be strong …”

Yaku spent the rest of her night in the Hokage's office sobbing. Ion the end through her rough exterior she was but a mere child on the inside, alone and afraid to die.

Execution Day

All of Konoha was gathered around to see to the deaths of two unforgettable S-ranked criminals. Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto all stood in front of every one else, dressed in black while the others dressed in vibrant colors celebrating the deaths. Naruto looked up to Yaku his ocean blue eyes just as melancholy as Sarutoby's voice had been the night before. Sasuke looked at Itachi solemnly knowing that the chance to kill his older brother was gone. Sakura stared down at the ground, not daring to look up and Kakashi did the same. Finally the Thrid Hokage stepped forward onto the small plat form and the crowd hushed.

“It is by law that these two are executed before the very eyes of our village …”

Cheers rang out through the village.

“But by decree …to keep the village safe S-ranked criminals must be taken some where else.”

Yells and cries of anger rose through out the crowd.

“This is only for your own protection …” The Hokage stated before he looked at the four ANBU that accompanied him and they ceased Yaku and Itachi Uchiha once more forcing them to walk with their heads down in shame.

Every member of Yaku's old team looked up at them as they passed and Yaku swore she saw Sakura shed a tear, Naruto clench his fists, Sasuke had pity in his eyes, and Kakashi moved around uncomfortably.

The two were taken into the forest of death as the Third Hokage told the ANBU to disperse and they did. “Yaku … Itachi … one of you may live … the other must die …”

Yaku gulped and looked down feeling dizzy and nauseous.

Itachi stepped forward. “I have nothing to live for …”

Yaku looked up and smiled at him then looked at the Hokage. “May I just have a few last words with him … please?”

Her nodded and Yaku took Itachi a few yards away from him. “I'm not destined to be with you Itachi … I know who is though … her name is Haoku Hamagichi … my daughter … I've seen into the future and there will be a war … my husband and I will-“

“Times up …” Sarutoby said grimly.

Itachi walked over and kneeled, his long black hair dangling in his face.

Yaku felt as if she was just kicked hard in the stomach and ran to bushes a few feet away vomiting as Itachi was killed.

The Hokage steeped over to her and rest a gentle hand on her shoulder. “It's over Yaku … he didn't feel a thing …”

Yaku started to sob wildly knowing the feeling of losing some one all too well for she had lost both her mother and her father at a young age and never knew either of them.

“Yaku the pain will only dwell as long as you stay here …” Sarutoby said calmly his voice dry as if feeling her pain.

Yaku did a few hand signs and dug a large hole in the earth burying Itachi then she did a few more had signs this time producing a large silvery white crystal which lay right above the resting Itachi. Yaku finally took out the kunai he had given to her and engraved Itachi Uchiha may he forever rest in peace, to be love and cherished by all those who have ever cared
