If Only For Tonight

 

 

The night stars sparkled beautifully in the sky. They were like little diamonds. A pair of opalescent eyes gazed up at them, completely fascinated by them. Not only were the twinkling stars entertaining her, but the sound of lapping river water. The waves tumbled over each other, as if playing, stumbled against the sand unto her bare feet. A soft sigh escaped her parted lips. There was a certain blue eyed boy on her mind.

 

 

“Hinata?”

 

The girl jumped out of her skin hearing her name. After regaining herself, she turned to see Naruto making his way towards her. She turned back around. Just the person she'd been thinking about. Another sigh and Naruto sat down by her side.

 

 

“Why are you out here so late?” Naruto asked, running his finger through the sand. He had the usual smile on his face. Which brought Hinata to the fact that, though Naruto smiled often, a lot of them weren't real. “Hinata?”

 

 

“S-Sorry…” Hinata said quickly. “I couldn't sleep.”

 

 

Naruto sighed. “Neither could I…Hey Nata-chan, are you okay? You don't look so good.” A wave of concern filled his voice. “I-I'm scared N-Naruto.”

Hinata said barely above a whisper.

 

“Of what?”

 

 

“O-Of the f-fact that when I'm around you my h-heart beats faster, that wh-when you s-smile I practically melt, and when you're not here y-you're all I can think about.” She couldn't hold it in any longer. She was going to come clean and hope for the best. Before she knew it, she was wrapped in a pair of strong arms. She snuggled into the warmth, and turned her gaze to meet the others eyes. “Hinata…” Naruto said softly, “is that why you've been avoiding me lately?” Hinata blushed, and nodded. “Please…don't do that again. God it hurt. I kept thinking I had done something horrible.”

He smiled slightly. “Don't worry either, when I first fell in love some one, I was absolutely terrified, but I accepted it finally, and I was fine.”

 

“S-So I just accept that I'm in l-love with you and its all okay?”

 

“Not necessarily. Don't you want to know how I feel?” Naruto grinned.

 

 

“Actually…y-yes.” Hinata nodded again, ignoring the fact that Naruto was going to be VERY hyper later. She could already tell.

 

 

“I don't think I'll tell you.”

 

 

“Why n-not?!” Hinata growled. (A/N: uh okay, Hinata growling, hmmm… I just scared myself :P)

 

“Awwww, you're like a cute little puppy! You growled at me! Ferocious little ball of evilness!” Naruto smiled at the fact that he was making Hinata laugh, even though she was in the process of trying to hide it. “Nata-chan is my cute little puppy.”

 

“Narutoooo!!” Hinata pouted.

 

“I would tell you, but you already know.”

 

 

“I do not…” Hinata sighed. Naruto leaned forward, and pressed his lips against Hinata's in a warm passionate kiss. Naruto's lips were sticky from the tea he had earlier. When they pulled away from each other they were both breathing heavily. Hinata licked her lips, and blushed.

 

“Does that answer your question?” Naruto asked, a sly smile playing across his lips.

 

 

Hinata gave a brilliant smile. A true actual- just-for-Naruto-smile. Anyone who knew Hinata knew she wasn't the type to smile, or laugh out loud with you, that is without being extremely shy while doing it. She was calm, and collected, something most sixteen year-olds weren't. Naruto acted more Hinata's age, than Hinata did herself.

 

 

“I love you too, Hinata.” Naruto leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on her forehead.

“More than anything…even my ramen.” And from Naruto…that was a lot. So even though silly, Hinata appreciated it.
