[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

I do not own Naruto or any of the song mentioned within this bit of drabble

A/N: This is just a short fic I started a month ago. It just started out as some random drabble and evolved into what you are now reading. To loyal readers fear not, I haven't forgotten my other stories. *grins* It is another SasuSaku. You know it's humorous, I'm not fond of Sasuke's character, but I do love writing this pairing. Please let me know if I should even bother to continue on.

Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty,
Sound of their breath fades with the light.
I think about the loveless fascination,
Under the milky way tonight.

Lower the curtain down in Memphis,
Lower the curtain down all right.
I got no time for private consultation,
Under the milky way tonight.

Wish I knew what you were looking for.
Might have known what you would find.
Wish I knew what you were looking for.
Might have known what you would find.

And it's something quite peculiar,
Something that's shimmering and white.
Leads you here despite your destination,
Under the milky way tonight
Under the Milky Way- The Church

In the Darkness of Night
Chapter 1

The lone ANBU op crouched in the tree cursing under her breath. She clenched her teeth and pulled out the shriken that was half embedded in her thigh and threw it to the ground. She summoned her chakra to the wound and started the healing process from the inside out. That was one of the perks of being a medical ninja. She was lucky this time, a few more centimeters to the right and it would have nicked her artery. She let out a long hissing breath as her chakra repaired the torn muscle. She quickly scanned the immediate area. She was pretty sure she hadn't been followed. Sakura pulled off her cat mask and wiped her forearm across her face. She relaxed and let her guard down a little. She was about a day away from Konoha and couldn't wait to get home to a hot shower. She closed her eyes and settled in for the night, unaware of the missing nin that was watching her.

He stood in the shadow of the trees watching the pink haired kunoichi. He activated his Sharingan and saw that her chakra was almost to a critical level. It would be an easy grab and go; she was injured and too weak to fight off a strong attack. He smirked to himself. It couldn't be any easier, or at least that's what the missing nin thought. Suddenly, he felt the edge of a kunai on his throat. His eyes shot over to the tree she'd been in, her clone waved at him and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"Why are you following me?" the kunoichi hissed in his ear, pressing the tip of the knife into his neck.

He narrowed his eyes and sighed, "Because I need your help." He drew in a sharp breath as the knife started to pierce his skin.

"Keep going."

"I need you to heal me. I'm going blind," he said in a low voice. He felt a small trickle of blood run down his neck.

"Just what makes you think if I could heal you, and I assure you I can, that I will?" she asked him sneering behind her mask. She pressed the knife harder, deepening the small cut. She wanted to slit his throat out of spite, but knew she couldn't. Because deep down inside part of her still loved Sasuke and she could never change that. She narrowed her eyes and turned her attention to the raven haired missing nin in front of her; she couldn't let her guard down for a second. Her heart skipped a beat when she felt his warm breath on her ear.

"Because you still love me," he whispered brushing his lips across her neck.

She went rigid, 'How did he...When did he...' she wondered. "You were a clone all along," she said to the one in front of her. The clone behind her disappeared. "What the hell is this?" she demanded. She looked around; she was caught in a genjutsu. Sakura tried to lift her hands but couldn't. She had no control over her arms.

Sasuke grabbed her wrist and slowly pulled her hand away from his neck. "I think we've had just about enough of that," he said, pulling the kunai out of her limp fingers. He summoned chakra to his fingertips and touched them to her forehead. He smirked to himself and threw the unconscious kunoichi over his shoulder.

Sakura woke to the bright sunlight streaming though the window. She squinted and looked around. 'Where the hell am I?' she wondered. She looked down at herself, 'Where the hell are my clothes?!' All she had on was her black underwear and sports bra. She glanced over to the door and saw her gear in a small pile. Everything was there: armor, backpack, weapons pouch and her cat mask. She sat on the edge of the bed trying to recall the past night's events. Slowly it all came back to her. She sat against the wall in shock. Sasuke kidnapped her? It was almost laughable until she recalled his request to heal him. She walked over to her gear and pulled on her skintight black pants and black fishnet shirt. Leaning down, she opened her weapons pouch and was stunned to see all of the weapons still there. 'What the hell is he up to?' she wondered. Grabbing a kunai, she walked over to the door. She was shocked to find the door unlocked. She slid it open and looked out into the hall. It was empty. She could sense his chakra and took off down the hall in that direction.

Sasuke sat on the edge of his bed rubbing his temples. The headaches were becoming unbearable. It felt like someone was trying to split his skull open with a kunai. His eyes felt like they were throbbing in their sockets. `The light,' he thought, he needed to turn off the fucking light. The only catch was he couldn't open his eyes because of the light. He slapped around to his left blindly until his fingers felt the switch and turned it off. He looked around through squinted eyes, quickly clapping a hand over his mouth. "Ah fuck," he hissed as the nausea hit him. He sensed her chakra coming towards him. He squinted through the darkness as he heard his bedroom door slide open. "Sakura?" he whispered into the darkness. He was in too much pain to react to her approaching him. At this point he was pretty sure death had to be better than the pain. But he knew…He knew she could not kill him, thoroughly kick his ass but not kill him. And she was a medic to boot; maybe she could help him with these headaches. “Onegai Sakura-chan,” he whispered into the dark shadows of his room.

She moved through the darkened room like a ghost. She stopped and cocked her head to the side at the sound of his plea. His voice was strained and extremely controlled; she could tell he was talking through clenched teeth. Before he knew it she was at his side. She crouched down so that she was eye level with the raven haired rouge ninja. His onyx eyes were glazed over in pain. A soft green light lit up the room slightly as she activated her healing chakra. She ran her fingers through his dark hair and closed her eyes. Her chakra flowed through his head looking for the source of his pain. She let her chakra flow deeper into his head. She calmed the migraine, causing him to sigh in relief and let her chakra flow to his eyes. She gasped, almost jerking her hands away. Indeed, he was going blind. The chakra network to his eyes was being diverted for an unknown reason. Forcing her chakra into his network she opened the blocked pathways. Then she coaxed his chakra to the correct pathway and blocked the diverted one. She withdrew her chakra and took a step back from him. She felt light headed from expending so much chakra. Repairing a chakra network was normally a two medic job. She swayed as her knees buckled and her eyes rolled back.

He jumped up and caught her seconds before she hit the floor. He laid her on his bed and pulled the covers over her. Sasuke stood over her for a few minutes just looking down at her. She'd changed so much since he left the village. He'd been shocked to learn his Sakura was now an elite ANBU tracker. Not to mention one of the best medics in Fire country and still completely in love with him. He sat in the chair by the window looking at her, wondering if she was going to try to kill him when she woke up. He had his money on `no'; after all she was the one who faltered when she had the chance to slit his throat. Granted, he already had her in his genjutsu by then, it still didn't change the fact she faltered. That split second of hesitation was the opening he needed. Yawning, he sat on the bed next to the pink haired beauty. He brushed the wayward pink strands away from her face and let his hand linger. He wondered why he hadn't noticed her beauty the last time he'd seen her. He brought his face down close to hers, taking a deep breath. She still smelled like cherry blossoms after all these years. Feeling brave, he ghosted his lips over hers. She snorted and batted at her face. He jerked out of the way, laying down and closing his eyes. After all, it was his bed. No one was going to kick him out of his own bed. He was too exhausted from chasing her for four days to do anything else.

Sakura slowly opened her green eyes and looked around. The room was different than the last one she woke up in. Suddenly the memories from the previous night came flooding back. She tried to sit up, only to find out she was now restrained. Panic started to cloud her judgment. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Repeating that several times, her mind finally calmed down; she tried to think of every detail of the previous night. She remembered his migraine, healing the pain, diving into his chakra network, blocking, unblocking, diverting and then it all faded to black. She felt a puff of warm air on the back of her neck, giving her goose bumps. The restraint got tighter; she looked down and saw it was an arm. She was in bed with Sasuke? How in the hell did that happen? She felt the heat rise to her cheeks; she had to get out of his bed. What in the hell happened, was maybe a better question. She thought about how when she saw how much pain he was in, her medic instincts kicked in and took over. She moved around trying to break his hold on her waist. Finally, she gave up and settled against him and drifted off to sleep again.

When she opened her eyes again she was staring into a pair of onyx eyes that were twinkling with amusement. She felt her cheeks turn red and wished the bed would swallow her. She closed her eyes and almost gasped when she felt his lips brush the top of her head. This could not be happening to her, she was a well respected medic nin. And now she was wrapped up in the arms of a rouge nin. Granted, he was her former teammate, but still. She chewed her lip and thought about what would happen to her if anyone in Konoha found out about this.

He watched her chew her lip in thought. She didn't have to tell him what was on her mind because he already knew. `Damn she's cute in the morning,' he thought. He pulled her closer to him and inhaled her scent, the faint smell of cherry blossoms filled his sinuses. He brushed his lips over her forehead. Hearing her light gasp, her hooked his fingers under her chin and brought her face up to his. He stared into her tear-filled jade eyes for a moment, he could see the conflict in them. “Sakura,” he murmured. “Nothing happened. I haven't sunk that low yet.” He brushed a tear away with his thumb. “Don't cry I'm not going to hurt you,” he whispered as he brought his mouth down to hers. She turned her face away and his kiss landed on her cheek. `Well I suppose I deserved that,' he thought. He loosened his hold on her and watched her sob quietly. He would occasionally brush her hair away from her face.

She looked up at him. “Why come after me? Why couldn't you just stay gone?” she asked her voice cracking with emotion. “I've tried so hard to forget you since you left and just when I was getting my life back you just had to show up again” she wailed, burying her face in his chest.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her for a long time, letting her cry on him. He glanced down when she mumbled something against his chest. He tilted her face up. “Nani?”

She sniffed and wiped her cheeks. “I said, `I love you and hate you. Part of me wants to kill you and the other part want to rip your clothes off and have my way with you.'” She said with a determined look.

His dark eyes widened slightly he wasn't quite sure he'd heard her correctly, even though she'd spoken in a clear voice. The Sakura he knew would have never said something like that to him. `Oh well, I supposed we all become jaded in this life,' he mused to himself. He looked into those clear jade eyes. “By all means, do whichever you think will make you happiest,” was his reply. It was at that moment he saw the desire flare in those green eyes of hers. He smiled and kissed her again. This time she didn't move her head.

She broke the kiss and shook her head. “Iie, I can't do this. I don't want this,” she said in an anguished voice.

He locked eyes with her and saw the desire flare up in them again. “Usotsuki, but its okay I understand,” he said pulling himself up off the bed. “Just remember you can't lie to yourself forever. Trust me I know that for a fact,” he said over his shoulder as he was leaving the room.

“You can't keep me prisoner forever, they'll come looking for me,” she yelled at his retreating back.

He stopped at the doorway and turned around. “Who's holding you prisoner? I don't see anything stopping you from leaving,” he said in a tight voice and left the room.

She lay back on the bed, “Great,” she said out loud. “I'm really fucked now.” She closed her eyes in frustration and tried to sort out the last forty-eight hours of her life. She came to the same conclusion, she could not leave. Not until she knew his chakra network was fully repaired.
