Chapter Thirteen: Come Undone

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Needless to say you're the one that I need the most
Cause the only one I come undone for is you

Yes, the only one I come undone for is you
Oh, the only one I come undone for is you

Her skin was pale, a ghostly white color. There were dark bruises under her eyes that were the evidence of lack of sleep. Her cheeks were sunken in and so were her eyes, which were glossed and glazed over. The girl's dark hair fell listlessly at the sides of her face. The reddened scars on her wrists were visible, as were the scratches on her neck. It seemed as if every time she took in a breath her body would shake and quiver.

It was only then that Naruto had realized that Hinata was sick, physically and mentally.

Earlier that morning, she had been released from the infirmary. It had been a week since Neji had told Naruto that the girl was suicidal. The evidence of her failed attempts was obvious. Naruto had never noticed how...sickly she looked. She was fragile and frail; if someone were to grab her the wrong way, she could very well break.

There she sat in the tv room, staring down at the floor tiles with a blank expression on her face; she seemed to never blink. Naruto wanted to go over to her; he wanted to try and comfort her like any good friend would do. The only problem was Neji, who sat next to Hinata protectively, not letting anyone come within two feet of her. Naruto daren't go near her, lest he wanted to get into a brawl with a lunatic.

To think that Hinata had attempted to take her own life, and that it wasn't even the first time. Naruto wanted desperately to know what was ailing her so. He very well couldn't get any information from Neji, and Sai didn't know anything, unfortunately, so there was no way in hell that Naruto would be able to find out about her. It would just be easier if Hinata would tell him, but there was no way that she would ever say a word.

"Maybe it's 'cause she's crazy," Naruto thought "Everyone in here is crazy...I'm sure they've all thought about killing themselves. She's the only one who tried to go through with it." Although the thought made sense in his head, Naruto knew that he was wrong. Even if Hinata was truly insane, something had to have happened to cause her to be that way. She was a mystery, her condition was a mystery, and the reasons for her suicide attempts were a mystery as well.

All of a sudden, Shizune came into the tv room and she announced that it was time for lunch. All of the patients stood from their seats and obediently made their ways towards the dining room. When Naruto looked back to see if Hinata would come, he noticed that Neji was still sitting next to her and neither of them had moved an inch.

At lunch, Naruto chose to sit down next to Sai and Haku. He didn't even bother searching the table for Sasuke because he knew that the boy was alone, at the end of the table, where he always sat. He seemed to prefer sitting alone because he never came to sit with Naruto and the others.

Their lunch was served only moments after they all were seated, and everyone started eating without hesitation.

As expected, Sai was the first person to speak. "So, Blondie," his eyes roamed over to Naruto, who shook his head silently, showing his loathing for the nickname he'd been given. "How're things with you and the bastard?" he asked, smiling. For some reason, Naruto just didn't trust that smile.

He rolled his eyes at Sai. "You make it sound like we're in a relationship or something," he mumbled. Sai raised a questioning eyebrow, and Naruto rolled his eyes again. "I wouldn't call it a relationship."

"Then what would you call it?" the pale boy asked. And before Naruto could even answer, Haku joined the conversation.

"You're fucking him, aren't you? If you are, then it's a relationship." He commented.

Naruto gave Haku the strangest look, as if to say are you serious? But then Naruto remembered where he was, and who he was talking to. "No, I'm not having sex with him. And even if I was, that wouldn't mean we were together."

"He says your name in his sleep."

The blond boy's head whipped around to stare at Sai, who had the widest, smuggest smirk on his face. "What?" Naruto questioned. Sai only kept smirking.

"You heard me- he says your name in his sleep. He dreams about you. I hear him almost every night, mumbling your name in his sleep." The boy said cheerfully. Naruto could only stare at him strangely.

"Sai, sometimes you really creep me out." He confessed.

Sai laughed at him. "I creep you out? I'm not the one dreaming about fucking you!"

"How do you know that's what he's dreaming about?!-"

"-You know," All three of them, Haku, Sai, and Naruto, turned to look down at the end of the table where Sasuke had been speaking to them. The raven glared at all three of them maliciously, and spoke again. "You three can stop talking about me like I'm not even here." He didn't bother saying anything else and he turned back to his lunch.

The blush covering Naruto's face was the size of Texas.

Sai, who could care less about the comments that Sasuke made, changed the subject and started talking to Haku. Naruto sat there, picking at his lunch, and wondering how much of the conversation Sasuke had actually heard. "Knowing him, probably all of it." The blond thought to himself, while sighing heavily. Sasuke would probably be mad at him later. The smallest things made him so angry, and Naruto found himself always having to watch what he said around him.

"I would start liking the guy with anger issues. What great luck I have." Naruto forced himself to scarf down the rest of his lunch, even though he wasn't hungry anymore. His appetite had disappeared after that last conversation.

All of a sudden, in the middle of lunch Shizune came before everyone and started to make an announcement. All of the patients looked towards the door where she was standing, and as soon as she had their attention, she started speaking.

"Everyone," she began "For the past few months, Kakashi-san and I have been consulting with Tsunade-san about a being able to take you all out for a group outing." She told them. Everyone stayed perfectly silent now, and Shizune kept going. "She has decided that it would be in your best interests to get a chance to go out. So today, we have planned to take nine of you to a carnival. You all have half an hour to get prepared, and then we will be leaving."

With that said, the woman turned and exited the cafeteria. Naruto looked around at the other patients in the room, and he was surprised to find that none of them were as excited as he was. They all still held blank expressions on their faces, acting as if they hadn't just been given a chance to get out of this place for a while. Okay, Naruto could understand that a carnival was a little childish, considering that most of them would be, if they already weren't, adults soon. He, on the other hand, had always been a big kid, so he couldn't help his excitement.

Naruto watched Sai take a cigarette out of his pocket. "Well," he started, while lighting the end of the stick. Naruto looked away, forcing himself to avoid looking into the flame. "It's about time they got us out of this place." He inhaled through his mouth, and a few seconds later, the smoke exited through his nostrils. Naruto pretended to gag.

"You should stop, you know." He told him. "It's cancer in a stick. Even I'm trying to stop." He commented. Sai shook his head.

"We're going to a carnival Naruto." he stated. "Where there'll be tons of loud, hyper, annoying children. I need to calm my nerves, because if I don't, I'm sure I'll get thrown into the disturbed ward for strangling a child."

On that note, Naruto stood up from the table, grabbed his tray and threw it into the garbage. He didn't know what Sai's problem was. How could he not like kids? They were full of energy, they were happy, and hell, they were free. Naruto envied them, since he was ultimately stuck here in a mental hospital.

Once Naruto had walked back to his own bedroom and went straight to the dresser in front of the foot of his bed. He pulled open the drawers and started rummaging through them for something to wear. While he was searching, Shikamaru entered the room, and Naruto watched him pop at least seven pills upon coming in.

"What's all that for?" The blonde asked while shrugging off the black sweater he'd been wearing.

Shikamaru went to his drawers as well and started looking for clothes as well. "It's to help me stay awake." He admitted. "Carnivals aren't exactly the safest place for someone who's narcoleptic." The boy pulled out a brown shirt and a forest green vest. "Kakashi prescribed a special medication to me for when I go out; keeps me from falling asleep so easily, for a while. But it's not foolproof or anything, I could fall asleep on a rollercoaster or something." He told Naruto with a shrug.

The blond stared at him, dumbfounded. "How can you say something like that so calmly??" he asked. Shikamaru shrugged his shoulders again.

"It could always be worse." Shikamaru answered. As he was taking off his white t-shirt, he pulled Naruto's attention to a large zigzag shaped scar on his back. Naruto stared at the scar curiously.

"What is that?" he questioned.

Naruto watched Shikamaru pull on his brown shirt. "That's what happens when it's worse."

The two boys got dressed in silence. Naruto had chosen simple clothes- a pair of blue jeans, white tennis shoes, an orange jacket, and a black shirt with the words "You'll Be Screaming My Name Later" written on the front of it. After he and Shikamaru finished getting dressed, they walked out of their room together and headed to the lobby where a couple of people were already waiting.

Shizune was standing near the door dressed in a pair of jeans and a simple black blouse. Naruto had only ever seen her in her nurse's outfit- never street clothes. Her new attire came as surprise to him. Standing beside her were Kurenai and Iruka, who also were dressed in street clothes. Naruto could actually see the three of them as normal people, now that they were in normal clothes. It was still weird, though, seeing them that way.

On the other side of the lobby, Naruto noticed Sasuke standing alone. He had his hands shoved deep into the pockets of the black jeans he was wearing, and there was an irritated scowl on his face as well. Naruto would've gone over to talk to him, but he figured he'd wait a bit, just in case Sasuke would cool down in the next few minutes. His moods were totally unpredictable and Naruto didn't want to get caught in the middle of one of his episodes.

Soon, all of the patients, save for Hinata, were lined up in the lobby. Naruto hadn't had to ask why Hinata wasn't going- she was in no shape to leave the hospital. Shizune counted all nine of them and then she scribbled something down on her clipboard. Naruto was sure that they'd be leaving after she'd done that, but he was wrong. Before anyone left the hospital, Shizune personally administered medication to each of them. Naruto was insanely anxious, and so he hurriedly swallowed each of his pills in hopes that they'd get out of the door faster. Before leaving, Naruto checked the clock that was hanging above the door- it was 4 in the afternoon.

Once they were all outside, the nurses led them to a white van, and Naruto's eyes widened when he saw it- the thing was enormous. It was like one of the vans that creepers used to pick up defenseless little children.

Iruka motioned for everyone to get into the van and told all of them to strap on their seatbelts. Naruto found himself sitting in the back of the van in a window seat. The person sitting next to him turned out to be Kiba, and sitting next to Kiba was Sakura. Sitting in the row in front of Naruto were Shikamaru, Haku and Neji, and in the row in front of them was Sai, Gaara and Sasuke. Shizune was seated beside the three of them. Iruka was driving, and Kurenai was sitting in the passenger's seat.

When Iruka started up the van's engine and started driving out of the hospitals parking lot, Naruto couldn't stop the smile that spread across his face. He was so excited that it was ridiculous. Naruto may've been old enough to be considered an adult, but he could not help the way he was feeling. He was only nineteen; he could still have fun at a carnival! Now when he turned twenty, it would be a different story. He figured he'd try to act a little more mature then.

"...wow." Naruto heard Kiba mutter beside him. "I haven't been to a car-carnival since I was a kid." He admitted. "I mean, I'd never gotten another ch-chance to go since I've been in the hospital."

"I haven't been to one in a while either." Naruto told him. "I'm actually excited!" Kiba smiled at his friend's enthusiasm.

"I just wanna get on a rollercoaster; I love th-those things."

Naruto nodded his head rapidly and the smile on his face widened. "You and me both man!" he exclaimed.

The entire time they rode to the carnival, Naruto and Kiba talked about times when they were younger. Naruto listened to Kiba go on about how he used to always love going to carnivals with his dog Akamaru, and how once he even went as far as to take his dog onto a coaster with him. Naruto realized that Akamaru must've been one brave dog. While he listened to him, Naruto started noticing that Kiba's speaking was improving again. It'd gotten better before, but when he'd had that accident with his seizure, his stuttering had went back to normal. Naruto could only imagine how happy Kiba must've been.

When Naruto spoke, he spoke of the county fairs that he always went to with Aya. The county fairs were just the same as any regular carnival; it was just that they were a bit smaller, and way more rural than a carnival. Since Naruto had stayed with Aya and her mother Izari on the countryside, everything had been different from the city. Naruto told Kiba about the time that he and Aya had gone to a county fair and kidnapped one of the ponies from the petting zoo. They'd only ridden it halfway through the fair before they'd been caught by the town's sheriff. The two of them had gotten into a lot of trouble, but till this day, Naruto believed that it'd been the most fun they'd ever had.

"Sounds like you used to have a lot of f-fun with your sister." Kiba said.

Naruto smiled and laughed. "Sounds like you used to have a lot of fun with your dog."

The forty minutes it took for them to reach the carnival seemed like only ten. Naruto really enjoyed talking to Kiba, and he was a little disappointed when he found out that he wouldn't be in Kiba's group.

"Aright everyone, Kurenai, Iruka and I are your group leaders. You're not allowed to leave our sight because we don't want you all to get into any trouble." Shizune told the nine of them. "My group will come with me now."

As she said this, Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto stepped forward and went over to her. Neji, Kiba, and Shikamaru went with Kurenai while Gaara, Sai, and Haku went with Iruka. After all of the patients were with their designated group leader, the groups split up.

The group walked towards the ticket booth, but Naruto could only see past that. The first thing that'd caught his eye had been the enormous Ferris wheel at the back of the carnival. It was the tallest ride. He could see all of the lights from the other rides blinking, hear all the people screaming from the coasters, smell the popcorn and funnel cakes cooking- Naruto was in heaven. His excitement was building in his chest, and if they didn't get in this place fast enough, he knew he'd explode.

Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke followed behind Shizune obediently as they walked up to one of the ticket booths. She bought wristbands for the three of them and herself. When they walked through the front gates, Shizune turned to the group with a smile.

"What would you all like to do first?" she asked

"Roller coasters!!" Naruto exclaimed. Sakura and Sasuke glared at him.

"No." the two of them argued in unison.

Shizune's smile faltered a bit as she looked over at Naruto. "Let's start small, okay Naruto?" she suggested. Naruto's mood deflated and he nodded solemnly while folding his arms over his chest and glowering at Sasuke and Sakura. They were so lame.

"How about a game first?" Shizune suggested. The three mental patients shrugged their shoulders. So, Shizune led them to the very first game she saw- it was throwing darts. At the booth, the wall behind the counter was covered with multicolored balloons. The object of the game was to pop as many balloons as you could with the limited amount of time you had. "Who wants to play this game?"

"I do!" Naruto said, his excitement returning.

"So do I." Sakura told Shizune. Shizune asked Sasuke if he would like to play too, but he just rolled his eyes and told her that he was too old to play such a childish game.

Although Sasuke was acting like a stick in the mud, it didn't kill Naruto's mood. He was ready to win this game, ready to beat Sakura and anyone else who dared to challenge him. Shizune paid the man at the counter, he gave the darts to Sakura and Naruto and he told them that they had thirty seconds to pop as many balloons as possible.

"Ready," he turned on the large clock above the balloons. "Set? Go!"

Sakura and Naruto went at it. Shizune, Sasuke, and the man at the counter, watched in awe as Naruto went at it. In ten seconds, he'd hit seven balloons. In fifteen, thirteen, in twenty, he'd hit nineteen. By the thirty second mark, Naruto had popped twenty nine and a half balloons. Half, because the air had still been deflating from one of them when thirty seconds had been reached. Sakura had only hit ten because of her terrible aim. She was a good sport though, and she wasn't upset about the fact that Naruto had beaten her.

"Good job, kid." The owner of the booth told Naruto. "Pick a prize, any prize. You've earned it." Naruto looked up at all of the prizes that were hanging from the top of the booth. Most of the prizes were a little to childish, or a little too girly, and so Naruto picked the toy that was closest to the wall. It was a white bear wearing a pink t-shirt that said "Love Me". He asked for that one and the man gave it to him. Naruto smiled, thanked him, and then handed the bear to Sakura.

When he pushed it into her arms, a deep red blush flooded her cheeks. She looked up at Naruto with wide eyes. "...Thanks." she said.
"No problem!" he smiled. Then, Naruto turned to Shizune. "NEXT!!"

Sasuke looked over and glared at Naruto irritably. "Must you be so loud?" he questioned, annoyed. "There are enough children here; do you have to act like one of them?" Naruto only laughed at Sasuke's comment. He was getting better and better at ignoring his rude comments.

"Don't be mad at me 'cause I'm having a good time, teme." He told him with a smile. "You should stop being such a party-pooper and have some fun!" he said happily.

The raven rolled his eyes. "You're such a loser."

"Yeah? Well you're a bastard."

"Enough you two." Shizune turned to the boys, shooting them both a disapproving look. The two of them quieted down immediately.

The next activity they went for was the ring toss. They had to toss a bunch of small rings onto ducks that were floating on top of the water, constantly moving. Sakura and Naruto played this game and Shizune even played with them. Sakura won that game. They played again, and Shizune won. Naruto had been a little upset that he kept getting beaten by girls so he suggested they play another game. When the three of them asked Sasuke to play, he flat out told them no.

Naruto was really getting fed up with his pissy attitude, and so he decided to devise a plan. While they were on their way to their next game, he walked up beside Sakura. "Hey, Sakura," he whispered.

"...why are you whispering?" she whispered. "Wait...why am I whispering?"

"I bet you're tired of Sasuke's attitude too, am I right?" he asked in a low voice.

The pink haired girl shrugged her shoulders. "I guess...he's such a prick, though, that's never gonna change." She said. A devious smile slowly spread across Naruto's face.

"Well, I've got a plan..."

The next game that they went to was a water game. You'd use your water guns to shoot at the bulls-eye at the base of the game to make your racecar go faster. Naruto and Sakura chose to play this game together while Shizune and Sasuke stood behind them and watched. Naruto and Sakura picked up the water guns, and when the bell rang, they shot at the target. Naruto glanced at Sakura from the corner of her eye, she nodded, and then the two of them turned around and aimed their water guns elsewhere.

In less than three seconds, Uchiha Sasuke was covered in water, soaking wet. Even Shizune couldn't help but laugh. Sakura finished the game, laughing, and Naruto looked at Sasuke who was unbelievably stunned. The blond set his gun down as an innocent smile came over his lips.

"So now your hair looks like a wet duck."

The raven tried to restrain himself, he tried so hard, but he couldn't do it.

He reached behind Naruto, grabbed the water gun and started spraying all over. By the time he was finished, Naruto was even more soaked than he was. The blond was wiping water from his face, cursing and spitting out water. When he looked up and glared at Sasuke, a devilish smirk was on the raven's lips.

Sasuke set the water gun down and leaned towards Naruto before speaking, "...I always knew I could get you wet."

Now it was Naruto's turn to be stunned.

He could feel the blush on his cheeks, and he could see the amusement in Sasuke's eyes. The boy wished that Sasuke wouldn't have said something like that, because it had completely thrown Naruto off balance. He was so flustered now, and he tried so hard not to think about what Sasuke had meant by that comment.

When Shizune saw one of the other groups, Iruka's, at the bumper car area, she decided to bring her group over as well. When Naruto saw Sai, he smiled and waved. The dark haired boy blew a kiss at him, and Naruto chuckled a little as they walked over. Fortunately, there weren't many other's in line and so both groups got to go in together. Naruto chose a bright, electric green bumper car that had the number seven on the side.

The bell rang and then everyone started driving. Naruto made it a point to ram into Sasuke first, sending the raven skidding into another direction. He saw the expression on Sasuke's face and when the raven came at him, Naruto made a sharp turn and drove behind Haku who took the hit for him.

Naruto had been too busy evading Sasuke's blows that he failed to notice the incoming attack. All of a sudden, the blond felt someone crash into the back of his bumper and when he turned around, he saw Sai smiling and laughing. The dark haired boy rammed into Naruto again.

"I just love hitting it from the back!" he shouted. Naruto blushed, again.

Next, Naruto chose to pick on Sakura, who thought that she could just go around hitting people without getting hit back, just because she was a girl. But when he tried to bump into her, she slammed into him with more force than ever. She must've had some sort of super car, because she sent Naruto's car flying. When Naruto hit the edge of the arena, he stayed there for several moments as he watched the scene before him. He wasn't surprised to find Gaara in a blood red bumper car, crashing into any and everyone, with a violent look in his eye. Some of the children that'd been playing had ridden over to the exit, crying, complaining about the "crazy eyeliner man". Naruto had to laugh.

After ten minutes of bumper cars, they had to give up their cars for the kids that had been waiting. Naruto was having so much fun that he couldn't contain himself when he jumped out of his car and started shouting happily. He demanded that they go to a roller coaster next, and this time, Shizune didn't deny him.

On the way to the roller coaster, they spotted Kurenai's group, and Naruto snatched Kiba and started running towards the line to the coasters. Shizune and the others had a hard time keeping up. Haku, Sai and Sakura joined Kiba and Naruto in the line, but Sasuke, Neji, Shikamaru and Gaara decided not to ride. They didn't feel like waiting in such a long line.

"I haven't been on one of these in ages." Haku said, when they'd reached the front of the line. The others agreed with him. Naruto and Kiba chose seats at the very front of the coaster, which was shaped like a dragon. The boy's strapped themselves in, and Naruto leaned back and stared up at the darkening sky. Night would be there soon.

When the coaster started ascending up the hill, Naruto could feel his stomach knotting with excitement. He could see the top of the hill ahead of them, and when they reached it, he let go of the bar and raised his hands in the air. The roller coaster dropped.

Everyone screamed.

Naruto felt his stomach drop and he cheered even louder. This'd been what he'd been waiting for, the thrill of being on a roller coaster, riding something that he had no control over. The track had more than five hills, about four loops, and seven upside down turns. Naruto never held onto the bar, not even once. Even when they were upside down, he let his hands dangle above him. He could hear Sakura beside him and Haku behind him, both screaming like madwomen. Kiba, Sai and Naruto were all laughing like madmen.

Sakura was so scared that she made Naruto hold her hand every time they went upside down. "Stop being a baby!!" he shouted so that she could hear him. The girl screamed again.

"Go fuck yourself!!" she yelled.

Two minutes later, the ride was over. When they all got off, Sakura's legs were shaking so badly that Naruto had to carry her on his back. She was such a girl. But he grinned to himself because he felt really manly while carrying her. He carried her until she told him to let her sit down on a bench. "I don't think you should ride any more of those." He told her, while noticing that she looked a little green.

"I feel like I'm gonna barf."

Before Naruto could even say another word, Sakura stood up and leaned over the trashcan that was right next to the bench she'd been sitting on. When she starting throwing up, Naruto walked up behind her and held her hair. He heard Shizune and Sasuke walk up behind him.

"What a gentlemen." Sasuke told Naruto, sarcastically.

The blond stuck his tongue out at him.

When Sakura was finished, Shizune went closer to her. "I'm going to take you back to the van," she said. The woman looked over to Sasuke and Naruto, then reached into her pocket and handed Naruto a fifty dollar bill. "I'm trusting the both of you to be alone." She stated. "Go to the food court and get something to eat, wait for me there."

With that said, the woman led Sakura away, leaving Sasuke and Naruto. The blond looked over at his companion and smiled. "Lets go pig out!" he cheered happily. Naruto took Sasuke's hand and he started running for the place where all of the food was located. He could almost taste the food- everyone loves carnival food.

As they came to a stop at the food area, Naruto stopped at the first booth. He bought a funnel cake. At the next, he bought cotton candy. At the next, he got two lemonades. The next, he bought two slices of pizza. Then, he bought a deep fried snickers bar, a corndog, and a gyro. When Naruto was done purchasing the food, he and Sasuke walked to the nearest, empty, table and sat down. The raven helped Naruto carry all of the food over to the table, even though only two items were his. He took his lemonade and his pizza, and then he sat there and watched Naruto eat.

The blond was literally inhaling the food. Sasuke had never seen someone eat so much, so fast.

"So...good..." Naruto said between bites. The funnel cake tasted so good that Naruto accidentally moaned. When that happened, Naruto failed to notice the expression on Sasuke's face.

After Naruto had wolfed down all of the food, he licked his fingers and let out a loud burp. Sasuke shivered and shot him a disgusted look.

"You're not human." He said.

Naruto smiled and patted his full stomach. "Maybe not, but I'm satisfied." He laughed. "When do we ever get food this good?"

"Do you realize how...fattening, unhealthy, and greasy that food was?" Sasuke questioned. Naruto only shrugged his shoulder.

"Everything that's bad for you always tastes better."

When Shizune came back and Naruto gave her the change from her fifty dollar bill, the woman went to get her food and she came back with almost as much as Naruto had gotten. Sasuke was staring at her, and when she noticed this, she tilted her head to the side curiously. "What?" she asked. The raven only shook his head. Naruto had to hold back a laugh.

By the time they'd all finished eating, Naruto had noticed that the sky had gotten even darker. The sun was almost completely gone, so all of the lights in the carnival were shining even brighter. Naruto had always loved how the carnival's looked at night; they were so much more exciting after dark. Shizune asked the boy's where they'd like to go next; Sasuke suggested the House of Mirrors. Naruto couldn't believe that he actually wanted to do something, but he gladly went along with it.

They entered the house of mirrors together, Naruto went one way and Sasuke went the other. Naruto stepped into a place where he could see seven of himself. He raised one hand, and all seven of his copies did the same thing. A childlike smile was spreading across his face when he went into the next room.

This time, Naruto saw five of his reflections. Each one was different. One was normal, one was tall and thin, one was short and fat, another was ridiculously wide, and another gave Naruto curves that he'd never had before. While Naruto admired the five different versions of himself, he suddenly saw another person's reflection behind his. The blond smiled and pointed to the curvy image.

"...this one makes you look like you have boobs, Sasuke." He teased.

Sasuke walked up behind Naruto, and stared at himself in the mirror. "It makes you look like you have an insanely huge ass." He smirked. Naruto almost jumped when he felt Sasuke's arms snaking around his waist, but he told himself to relax. He stared at their reflections in the normal mirror, and he traced his fingers along Sasuke's wrists.

"So...this was your plan all along, eh?" he smiled. "You just wanted to get me alone."

"That wasn't my plan at all." Sasuke said, trying to sound innocent. It didn't work.

Naruto felt like he wanted to turn around a kiss Sasuke, but it felt weird to be kissing someone with five different mirrors around. Naruto felt like there were other people in the room with them, and that just made everything awkward. He turned around quickly, and placed a haste kiss on Sasuke's cheek.

"Well, you're gonna have to get me alone another time!" he smiled and stuck his tongue out childishly before running to the nearest hallway.

Naruto had no idea where he was going, but he knew that Sasuke was chasing after him. This made his heart beat so fast that the sound of it rang in his ears. He could hear the raven's hurried footsteps far behind him, and every time Naruto reached a new room, Sasuke's reflection would enter the room too, which made Naruto run again.

"This is childish!" he heard Sasuke call to him.

The blonde's laugh echoed through the entire house of mirrors. "I love being chased, what can I say?"

When Naruto raced through the last room in the house of mirrors, he found himself running straight out the exit. Sasuke was hot on his trail and as soon as Naruto got out of the exit, he felt Sasuke grabbing his hand. Naruto turned to face him, smiling and breathing heavily. "...You caught me." He breathed. Sasuke's hold on his hand never faltered.

"I love chasing you, what can I say?"

Naruto didn't know how long they stood there, Sasuke holding his hand, but it was long enough for a heavy blush to coat his cheeks, his neck, and even the skin past his collarbone. It took the sound of Shizune calling their names to snap them out of the daze they'd gotten into, staring into each other's eyes.

The three groups had joined by now, and after a few games and rides together, night had fallen. There were four missing from the group- Sakura, because she'd gotten sick, Shikamaru, because he'd fallen asleep in the middle of a game of shooting ducks, Gaara because he'd started talking to one of the people in his head, and Neji, because he'd gotten bored with this entire event. Iruka had gone to stay in the van with the four of them and now, Shizune and Kurenai were leading the five that were left.

"Well," Shizune started "We've got enough time for one more ride before we have to leave." She told them all. "What would you all like to do?"

"I want to ride one more rollercoaster." Kiba said, without stuttering once. Sai and Haku sided with him.

Kurenai looked over to Naruto and Sasuke. "Would you two like to ride the rollercoaster as well?" she asked. Naruto shook his head and glanced behind him.

"I'd like to ride the Ferris wheel." He told her. He glanced at Sasuke out of the corner of his eye, smiling, and the raven immediately sided with him. Kurenai agreed to take them to the Ferris wheel while Shizune took the others to the roller coaster.

The line to the Ferris wheel was lengthy, and the boys spent about fifteen minutes waiting in line. When they finally got to the front of the line, they were led to one of the empty cars and they climbed in together. With every minute that passed, their car rose higher and higher. In no time, they'd reached the very top. Naruto moved to the edge of the car and stared down at everything that was below him. The faces of all the people were a blur, and all he could truly see were the shining, flashing lights. He smiled and sighed, before turning to Sasuke, and grinning at him as well. Naruto moved closer to him until their arms were touching. Sasuke looked down at him, holding back a smile.

"So this was your plan all along? You just wanted to get me alone." He teased.

Naruto reached out and placed his warm hand atop Sasuke's, and looked up into the raven's face. "Of course."

Slowly, Sasuke started to touch Naruto. First, he trailed his hands along the boy's thighs, and then he brought them to his waist, keeping them there. He leaned forward and pressed his cool lips against the base of Naruto's neck, kissing it. The blond haired boy laid his forehead against Sasuke's shoulder and wrapped his arms around his chest. Sasuke could feel Naruto's breath against his neck and it sent involuntary shivers down his spine.

Sasuke kissed Naruto's neck again, then his jaw, his cheek, and then Sasuke's mouth found Naruto's. The moment their lips touched, it was as if both of their bodies became connected. With every move Naruto made, Sasuke would move with him. Even their hearts beat in unison. Although they were only suspended above the ground, it felt as if they were miles away from everyone else in the world.

Naruto couldn't remember the last time he'd let anyone else touch him so tenderly the way Sasuke touched him. He couldn't remember ever feeling so connected with someone the way he felt with Sasuke. When he kissed him, it was as if there was no one else in the world that mattered. And even though he knew that this moment wouldn't last forever, he wished it would. Naruto's mind was so hazy, and he was so confused about the things that he was feeling for Sasuke. Up until now, Naruto hadn't thought that his feelings for Sasuke were very strong, but he'd been wrong, so wrong. At that moment, his feelings were stronger than they'd ever been.

And maybe it was this atmosphere. Maybe it was because they were so alone, hanging above the crowds, holding eachother as if they were their most precious possessions. Maybe it was all of this that made Naruto feel the way he was feeling. But what was it that he felt for Sasuke? Why did he feel this way? What had Sasuke done to him?

He reached up, raking his fingers through Sasuke's dark hair. He felt the raven's hands holding the small of his back, fingers splayed across his spine. Naruto kissed along Sasuke's jaw line slowly, affectionately. He could smell cologne on Sasuke's neck. Naruto's hands grasped at the hem of Sasuke's shirt, holding tight. Naruto enjoyed the feeling of Sasuke's body against his, but when Naruto thought about how he'd feel without Sasuke near him, he felt his stomach drop. He didn't want to be without him, not now, not ever. "I feel like...I feel like I need him." Naruto thought to himself. He'd never intended on becoming so attached to Sasuke, but it'd happened, and now there was no reversing it. Oh how he wished he wasn't so fond of him, so involved with him that without him he'd feel less of himself.

Maybe these feelings would change when they weren't so close. Maybe when Naruto's mind was clear, he'd realized that he'd only felt these things in the heat of the moment. Maybe he'd be able to lock away these feelings far in the back of his mind so that they'd never emerge again, so that he'd never feel like he needed Sasuke like this again. Because needing someone and knowing that one day they'd be taken away from you was not the way he wanted to feel.
