Chapter Nineteen: Hey Baby, Can You Bleed Like Me?
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
And try to comprehend that which you'll never comprehend
Try to comprehend that which you'll never comprehend
Try to comprehend that which you'll never comprehend
"This room reeks, Naruto." Shikamaru reluctantly stepped into his and Naruto's room, wrinkling his nose disapprovingly. "It smells like the inside of an ashtray in here." He grumbled. The man sat down on his own bed, across from his roommates, and stared warily at said boy.
Naruto had been sitting in this room for three whole days, leaving only to eat. He'd been smoking cigarette after cigarette, he hadn't showered in those three days, and he hadn't been to group even once. The others were worried about him, especially Sasuke, whom he'd been promptly ignoring, and everyone knew it. The only person who hadn't seemed worried about Naruto was Sai, and Shikamaru had the strangest notion that he had something to do with all of this.
"Uzumaki." Shikamaru raised his voice, forcing Naruto to give him his attention. "What's gotten into you? You've been stuck in a rut for days, and if you don't get out of it soon, Shizune's sure to-"
"-Shikamaru," Naruto spoke, blowing smoke from his nostrils while rubbing out his cigarette on the bottom of his shoe. "You were here before...before Sasuke got here, weren't you?" he questioned, staring over at Shikamaru.
The brunet nodded, crossing his arms over his chest. "Yeah, and what of it?" he asked. Naruto continued to stare at Shikamaru, his eyes uncharacteristically devoid of any life or vibrancy. Shikamaru was beyond worried at this point. He was about ready to go and get Shizune himself because somebody needed to fix this.
"...so you'd know, wouldn't you? You'd know why he's here, right?" he questioned. Shikamaru's eyebrows rose for a split second, too quick for Naruto, in his sluggish state, to notice. Why now, of all times, was Naruto asking questions like this? He'd never once before been concerned about such things, so why was he now? And what business did he have, asking about Sasuke's reasons for being in the hospital? That was just something you didn't ask about around here. "You know, don't you?" he asked again.
Shikamaru nodded; he wouldn't lie. "Naruto, it's not-"
"-a few nights ago...Sai told me that Sasuke...he told me that Sasuke murdered someone. I don't...I don't want to believe him, Shikamaru." Naruto's eyes were growing wider, more anxious, and his voice grew strained. "I can't believe him...Sai's a liar...a pathological liar. I don't want to believe what he tells me, but I can't help but think that what he said was true! I don't know why Sai would tell me something like that...Shikamaru, he was trying to hurt me...I know he was." He let out a shrill yet raspy breath, gripping his own hair. "I don't want to believe what he said about Sasuke! I can't! It's driving me insane! I'm losing my fucking mind, I know I am! I-"
Naruto couldn't even finish his sentence before Shikamaru was up, off the bed, and gripping Naruto's shoulders and shaking him. "Calm the hell down!" he ordered, shaking the blonde until he came to his senses. When Naruto had calmed down considerably and stopped trying to pull his own hair out, Shikamaru took a deep breath and ran a hand over his face. "...Sai had no right to tell you that...you should've been warned about him."
"Warned?? About Sai?" Naruto questioned, almost disbelievingly. "What is he? One minute, he acts like we're best friends, and the next minute he's spewing this nonsense and acting like he's the fucking antichrist!" he nearly screamed.
"Every person around here isn't as sane as you think. Sai is one of those people, and Naruto...you were just...you were just stuck in the middle." He sighed again, shaking his head. "I've known people like him; I've seen things like this happen." He told Naruto. Shikamaru had been in the hospital for nearly eight years; he'd seen just about everything. "He's trying...he's trying to tear you away from Sasuke. And I know this sounds crazy, but it's true. Sai might've truly wanted to be your friend, but...he wants so much more from Sasuke."
"...what are you saying?" Naruto questioned, too lost to comprehend all of the things that Shikamaru was telling him.
"I'm saying that you're stuck in the middle of a huge disaster. Sai wants Sasuke, you're in his way, and he'll do anything to tear you two apart-"
"-well congratu-fucking-lations to Sai, because it's working!" Naruto yelled. "Why didn't anyone tell me about him sooner?!"
"Because nobody suspected it...you two seemed to be such good friends." Shikamaru yawned, and Naruto's eyes widened, worried. Shikamaru shook his head, assuring Naruto that he wasn't going to fall asleep, at least not in the middle of this. "He's a sociopath, Naruto. He may've really tried to be your friend, but...he's too far gone."
Naruto shook his head rapidly, still not wanting to believe what he was hearing. "I...he was my friend Shikamaru, I know it...it's just that something changed...something snapped."
"He snapped...and you got caught in the middle of his breakdown." Shikamaru told him. "And as for Sasuke," he began again, watching Naruto's eyes grow wide for the umpteenth time. "You just...you need to talk to him about this. You can't trust what Sai tells you, Naruto, because nobody really knows the whole story."
Shikamaru didn't even wait for Naruto to speak again before he got up and left the room, mumbling something about going to talk to one of the orderlies. Naruto took a deep breath and raked his fingers through his hair, frustrated. He didn't know what to think, what to do, or where to go from here. Shikamaru was right; he was stuck.
For one, he still couldn't believe that Sai had pulled a stunt like that. He'd known that Sai was sick, just as insane as anyone else in the hospital, but he'd taken his illness to another level. Naruto couldn't explain the fear he'd felt that night; he'd never been so scared of someone in his entire life. It had been as if Sai had a split personality; the person who'd said those things was not the same person that Naruto had known for these six months.
How would he know whether or not Sai was trying to hurt him? Maybe he had been trying to help. Maybe Sai didn't want Naruto to be with Sasuke...with a murderer, if that's what he was. Maybe he'd been trying to help Naruto, but he'd known that he'd have to hurt him in the process. Or maybe Sai hadn't known what he was doing at all. Maybe this was all a big mess, like Shikamaru had said. Maybe Naruto was just a victim of these ridiculous circumstances, surrounded by people whose mental health levels were terribly lower than his own. Maybe he'd never figure this out.
But the fact still remained that Naruto was scared; scared of what Sai had become, and scared of what Sasuke might be. He had nowhere to run and no one to turn to. For the first time in his life, Naruto was going to have to handle this on his own. There was no Aya, there were no friends; there was just Naruto.
The blonde stood up from the bed, unconsciously wiping cigarette ashes off of his pants. He grabbed some clothes out of his dresser and proceeded to go straight to the private bathrooms. Shikamaru hadn't pointed it out, but Naruto had definitely needed a shower.
Once inside the shower, Naruto spent most of his time trying to wash away things that didn't exist; guilt, pain, anxiety. All of these were things that existed only in his mind. They were not physical- he could not wash them away.
After cleaning himself up, Naruto went back to his room to clean up all of the cigarette butts he'd left lying around. He couldn't count how many he'd smoked- enough to last him a couple of weeks, probably. He hated himself for getting addicted again, but it was either that, or resorting to something much, much worse.
He skipped out on group therapy, not being able to bear the sight of both Sai and Sasuke in the same room. He didn't even go to the tv room, because he knew that they'd both turn up in there soon enough. Instead, he asked Shizune if he could go outside and sit in the back, in the sanctuary. Surprisingly, she agreed, but she sent Iruka out to watch over Naruto.
Now that he was outside, Naruto could try to think and see things clearly. He could try to regain his senses and return to the person that he'd been before this mess had ever happened. When he'd been confined in that room, he'd felt like he'd been gasping for air for three whole days. Funny, how his whole perception of reality had come crumbling down before him in a matter of days.
Naruto wouldn't lie and say that he didn't want to talk to Sasuke, and he wouldn't lie and say the same about Sai. He wanted answers, he wanted information, and he wanted closure. There was no way that he could go on staying here peacefully if he didn't find out what was really going on. What did Sai really want? What were his true intentions? And what had Sasuke really done? Was he a murderer, or was it just a fabricated lie that Sai had created? What was real and what was fake?
Where was reality?
Were Sasuke and Sai not the people that Naruto had made them up to be in his mind; Sai, his friend, and Sasuke, his somewhat semblance of a lover. Had Naruto trusted them too much? Or had there not been enough trust?
And why on earth did Naruto care so much? It was because Sai had been his friend, and Sasuke...what exactly had Sasuke been? Where had all of Naruto's feelings for Sasuke gone? Were they hidden, or had they not been there at all?
No, Naruto knew for sure that he had felt something for Sasuke...something serious, something amazing, something he'd never felt before...
"What do I do..." he whispered to himself, bringing his knees up to his chest and leaning his chin atop them. "I want to...I need to talk to Sasuke but I...can't." he closed his eyes and grit his teeth, cursing his own weakness.
All of a sudden, Naruto heard footsteps coming toward him. His eyes snapped open and he'd expected to see Iruka standing before him. Instead, he found Hinata, staring down at him with a strange, unrecognizable look in her eye. The girl slowly knelt down in front of him, not breaking eye contact even once. This was the first time that she had looked into Naruto's eyes without looking away herself. Naruto almost hadn't noticed when Hinata touched his cheek with her fingertip, tracing a line from the corner of his eye to the bottom of his chin.
Naruto shook his head, staring down at his lap. "I'm not crying, Hinata. I'm okay." He lied. The girl frowned at Naruto and tilted his head up, forcing him to face her. She touched his face in the same way again and then she pressed her small hand to the middle of his chest, frowning sadly. Naruto placed his hand on top of hers and took a deep breath, feeling his own heartbeat.
"...you've felt more sadness than I ever will, haven't you?" he questioned, knowing full well that she wouldn't answer. The girl only kept her hand on his chest, reaching up and tapping his temple with her index finger. Naruto was so shocked at her sudden responsiveness and he didn't know what to do. Hinata closed her eyes and pressed her forehead against Naruto's chest in the place where his heart should've been. He placed a hand on her shoulder; it was almost as if he could feel her pain, almost as if they knew each other's pain. Why did Naruto's heart hurt? And why was it that Hinata could seem to sense it?
He smiled sadly and took a deep breath. "I'll be okay Hinata," he assured her. "And later on, I'll brush your hair for you. How's that sound?" he offered. The girl looked up at him and pressed her cool palms against his cheek, almost smiling.
Naruto couldn't remember how long they'd both sat outside together, but by the time Iruka told them to go inside, it was almost time for dinner. As they walked inside together, Hinata held Naruto's hand in hers, tracing the lines in his palm silently.
They walked into the tv room together, and when Neji spotted them, he didn't glare, frown, or give off any threatening vibes at all. He just stared at Hinata as if he hadn't seen her in ages. The look in his eye was unexplainable. Even when he looked at Naruto, the expression didn't change. Naruto brought Hinata over to where Neji was seated on the couch and she sat down beside him. It was the first time that Naruto had seen Hinata hug her cousin, and the first time that he'd seen Neji smile, too.
"...she knows what's going on around here, you know." Neji told Naruto in a low voice, his eyes still on Hinata. "She knows that there's something wrong with you, even though she can't say it. She's...sad for you."
"That's unfortunate," Naruto muttered. "She shouldn't be sad for me."
"But she is." Neji told him. "You...you are her friend."
Neither of the boys said anything more. Naruto walked out of the tv room and he'd had every intention on going back to his room, that is, until he was stopped. The voice of the person who stopped him sent chills down Naruto's spine; he hadn't even wanted to turn around and face him. "Sai." He nearly hissed, turning around to glare coldly at the male.
Sai raised his hands up as if he were surrendering to something. "Why so upset?" he questioned, acting as if he were clueless. Naruto knew better. He wanted answers and he was determined to get them. "Something wrong?"
"You're damn right, something's wrong." Naruto retorted. "Why, Sai?" he asked. "What...why did you take me there last night? Why did you...why did you say those things about Sasuke, knowing that I didn't want to hear them?"
The pale boy stared at Naruto, an amused yet dark expression on his face. "I don't know."
"Liar."
"Oops, guess you caught me there." Sai laughed, laughed as if this whole conversation was a giant joke that only he was in on. "Hm, why did I do it? Well, first of all, I did it to help you, you idiot. You had no idea what you were getting yourself into. Sasuke is dangerous territory-"
"-how would you know??" Naruto cut him off harshly. "Have you ever talked to him? Really talked to him? Were you ever his friend? Or did you just read a file and figure you knew everything about him?" The blonde growled and threw his arms in the air, frustrated. "You don't really know anything about him, do you?"
"When will you ever learn to shut your mouth, Uzumaki?" Sai glowered at Naruto, his eyes turned to slits. Was this the real Sai? The one that had been hiding this whole time? God, Naruto didn't want to believe that, but the feeling of utter betrayal was beginning to wash over him.
"Why are you so damn hateful?! I don't even know you!" he yelled. "Did you want him, was that it? Are you trying to take him away from me or something? I've never really had him at all so I guess that's what you were striving for! I thought we were friends!"
"I am your friend, Naruto." Sai answered, a slow smirk surfacing on his face. "And that's why I'm taking something away from you, something poisonous; something you don't need. He's not good for you."
"Is that your twisted view of friendship?? You think that being a friend involves hurting me-"
"-why are you hurt? Did you love him? Is that what it is?" Sai questioned bluntly. The statement hit Naruto hard; it'd made him feel like the wind had just been knocked out of him. Such a violent forceful wave had smashed into his chest that it'd left him breathless and speechless. "Did you love him? Is that what it is?" Why had this only hit Naruto now, of all times? All of his feelings, all of his emotions- why did it all add up now? "You're an imbecile, Uzumaki Naruto. Uchiha Sasuke doesn't have the capacity to, nor will he ever, love you. Don't get it twisted."
"How would you know that?! Do you even know what love is?!" Naruto screeched, completely and utterly losing his temper. He'd snapped. "You don't know anything about either of us so piss off! I may not know what Sasuke's done in the past but that didn't give you the right to do what you've done!" Naruto was not responsible for, nor could he remember, the things that came out of his mouth after that. The only thing he'd been sure of was the feeling of Sai's fist connecting with his jaw.
Naruto hadn't wanted it to end like this; he hadn't wanted to fight Sai. He'd only wanted to prove to himself that Sai was truly a good person...but that was not so. This was a mental hospital and Sai was mentally ill- there was no other explanation.
This entire situation had gotten out of hand and their fight had taken a turn for the worst when Shizune had showed up. Although she hadn't attacked anyone with her infamous needle, she had sent for extra orderlies to have Naruto and Sai immediately forced into straitjackets.
Only after Naruto explained the situation had he been released. He told Shizune an edited version of the story, and she had let him out of the jacket. Sai, on the other hand, hadn't calmed down, and had to be sedated just so they could seal him in Isolation.
Everything had happened so fast that Naruto truly hadn't been able to comprehend it all. The next thing he knew, he was in his room and being told not to come out for the rest of the evening. Though, Naruto had no intention whatsoever of staying in his room for the whole night.
Later on that evening, Sakura came to Naruto's room and she brought his dinner to him. When she entered the room, she set his dinner tray down on the dresser and closed the door behind herself. "You're not very hungry, are you?" she questioned, knowingly. Naruto shook his head silently and then Sakura walked over to his bed, taking a seat beside him. "So what happened?" she asked. Naruto took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulders.
"Sai...I misjudged him, is all. Never really knew how...messed up he was." Naruto sighed. "We were arguing and then we started fighting and even now...I still wish that I could help him, somehow." He shook his head again.
Sakura stared down at her pale hands that sat in her lap and she shook her head as well. "There are just some people you can't save." She told him. Naruto didn't want to believe her. "I think that somewhere deep down, Sai wants to be a normal person...but his lets his disorder take over...it's like a disease that can't be controlled...and it keeps spreading over you until none of the real you is left."
"...he...Sai was trying to get me away from Sasuke, trying to take him away from me. Though, I never really had him so..."
The pinkette shook her head, staring up at Naruto. "No, you had him alright. You're the only person that Sasuke shows affection for...you had him Naruto, you still have him." she smiled. "Shikamaru told me about what Sai said...you should talk to Sasuke...you'll never know what's true and what's not until you do."
"I know." He replied. "I just...I'm scared of what he's going to say...what if it's true...what if-"
"-don't speculate. Find out." Sakura told him. Without warning, she reached over to Naruto and hugged him, albeit awkwardly. Naruto appreciated the gesture, no matter how unexpected. Seconds later, Sakura stood up from the bed and said goodnight to Naruto, telling him that she hoped to see him at the breakfast table with a better, happier attitude.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Did you know that Iruka leaves after one in the morning?" Sai whispered. Naruto shook his head. "A different orderly takes over...she always falls asleep on the job at about two thirty." It was after saying this that Sai reached into his back pocket and pulled out a ring of keys and smirked. "She never even noticed."
Naruto sighed and glanced at the clock on the wall; it was 2:45 a.m.
He turned over in bed and lay on his side, staring at the blank wall. The room was almost silent; the sound of Shikamaru's steady breathing echoed against the walls. Unfortunately, it didn't calm Naruto's nerves in the lease. The boy knew what he needed to do, what he'd been planning to do all day, but he just couldn't bring himself to get out of the bed and get it over with.
Naruto needed to talk to Sasuke, desperately.
It seemed like forever since the two of them had spoken. Naruto wouldn't lie and say that he hadn't been avoiding him, because he had. He wouldn't lie and say that he wasn't scared, because he was. He wouldn't lie and say that he didn't love Sasuke, because he did...and that was the scariest part of all.
Throughout the whole night, Naruto had cursed himself over again, cursed himself for being a coward, for being afraid, for having ridiculous emotions. He had never felt as helpless as he did now. Yes, he wanted to talk to Sasuke about everything, but, what if Sasuke wouldn't talk to him. Sasuke may've altogether given up on Naruto by this point. He very well may've pushed all thoughts of the blonde out of his mind by now.
Sakura had been right, Naruto was sure of that. But he wasn't ready to face his own problems, nor was he ready to hear about Sasuke's. He wasn't ready to deal with anyone's demons, not even his own. Naruto was so used to evading his own issues that it'd become natural to him. But now that he had to face things, he wasn't sure whether or not he could do it.
When Naruto looked at the clock again, it was three a.m. He sighed again and raked his hands through his hair nervously, wishing he didn't have to do this but knowing that it was the right thing to do.
He sat up and swung his legs over the edge of the bed reluctantly. He neglected his shoes, seeing as how they'd make noise, and slipped on a pair of cotton socks instead. He made sure to be very careful and extra quiet while navigating though the dim hallways. The orderly, as expected, was asleep in her seat, leaning against the windowsill and snoring quietly. Naruto barely even breathed when he walked past her.
Upon reaching the hallway where Sasuke's room was located, Naruto started walking very slowly. It took him at least a minute to reach the door, and even then, he stood there in front of it without touching the doorknob once. Little by little, his overwhelming anxiety crept along his senses, making him more nervous than he ought to be.
Eventually, Naruto pushed his fears to the outskirts of his mind and mustered as much strength as he could before knocking. It only took Sasuke ten seconds to come to the door. Once he'd opened it, he saw Naruto, and the blank stare on his face nearly drove said boy insane. Naruto couldn't ignore the crushing sense of guilt that came crashing down on him. He took a deep breath and stared Sasuke in the face, speaking softly, almost inaudibly. "...can we talk?"
Naruto had almost expected Sasuke to punch him, slap him, or physically injure him in some way, shape, or form. But he hadn't. The Uchiha just silently opened the door and stepped back in order to let Naruto inside. Once they were both inside the room, Sasuke closed the door and Naruto turned to look at him once again. He pushed all nervousness aside and began to speak.
"I'm sorry..." He confessed. "And maybe you don't know why I'm sorry...but I am. Sasuke...I..." Naruto hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "I just need to know."
"What exactly is it that you need to know?" Sasuke asked in a completely disinterested tone.
Taking a deep breath, Naruto responded. "I need you to tell me why you're here in this hospital...I need to know what you did." He admitted. "I...Sai told me something...something that I just can't bring myself to believe. I can't believe a word that he says. I...I need you to tell me because I won't believe anyone else."
Sasuke stood in the middle of the room with his arms folded tightly across his chest. He wore a solemn, grave expression on his face, with his lips pursed and his eyes narrowed. It was an expression that emitted nothing less than pure hatred. But he wasn't looking at Naruto; it was almost as if he were looking right through him.
"So, he finally told you, did he?" Sasuke questioned, the same expression still on his face. "He'd been threatening to tell you for ages, as if I'd care if you knew." He spat out coldly. "Yes, Naruto, I murdered my uncle, I killed one of my own. Is that what you wanted to hear? You wanted to hear me indict myself so that you wouldn't feel guilty about fearing me?"
"Sasuke, that's not it-"
"-Yes, that is it, Naruto. I know how you think. You let Sai get into your head; let him tell you things that don't concern you."
"Sasuke, please!-
"Do you actually think I fucking care what you think?? Huh?? I did what I did because I had to. You know absolutely nothing about me Uzumaki Naruto, so don't act like you do. Don't act like you understand me; like you understand what I did. How could you ever understand?-"
Sasuke was cut off immediately when Naruto nearly tackled him. The blonde latched onto Sasuke's chest, hugging him tightly and burying his face in his chest. Sasuke was rendered speechless when he saw that there were unshed tears in Naruto's eyes. "...then help me understand." He whispered, speaking slowly. He shook his head and a single tear fell, trailing its way down his cheek. "You say that I don't understand, but how am I supposed to when you've told me nothing? I don't care about what you did, I care about you Sasuke. I just want to know why you did it...I don't think that you would just take someone's life without a reason, I just want to know why. Is that so bad?" he questioned, staring at Sasuke with the most genuine sincerity in his eyes.
The Uchiha gazed into Naruto's eyes, almost immediately feeling his own anger drain away. Still, the furious expression lingered on his face. "Why is it so important? If you don't care, why is it important?" he asked.
"Sasuke I..." Love you. Want you. "I'm..." Scared. Sorry. "...please..." Love me. Want me. "Forgive me, please. I don't...I know it doesn't concern me, but...I want to know about you, I want to know you, Sasuke. You just...why won't you let me in, huh? Why don't you want me to know you?"
Sasuke couldn't help but let his fury dissipate. It was in this moment that he realized how genuine Naruto was, how heartfelt his words were, how much Naruto actually cared about him. No matter how Sasuke had tried to keep him at a distance, to keep Naruto out of his heart, somehow the blonde had worked his way inside. "...why would you want to know me...if you know that I've taken a life?" Sasuke said in a low voice, staring down at the blonde.
Naruto shook his head and leaned up, wrapping his arms around Sasuke's neck. This time, Sasuke embraced him as well. "Didn't you hear me? I care about you and I want to know who you really are, no matter what you've done. Can't you at least give me that, Sasuke? Can't you at least let me in?"
A thick silence fell between the two of them. Naruto, left with nothing more to say, and Sasuke, unsure of what he was feeling, unsure of what he should say. He wished that he wouldn't have to say anything; just having Naruto in his arms was enough. There were reasons why he hadn't shared his past with Naruto. He didn't want Naruto to fear him; he didn't want Naruto to run from him. Because after hearing of the things that Sasuke had done, Naruto would surely keep his distance. No one wants to be with a murderer.
"...My uncle's name was Uchiha Madara." Sasuke began, holding Naruto tightly though at the same time avoiding his eyes. "That man is the reason why my brother and I have no parents. He killed them." Naruto tried to hide his surprised gasp from Sasuke but he heard it. The raven took a deep breath and forced himself to continue. "Uchiha Madara murdered my parents...and in turn, I killed Madara. The moment I saw his face...I couldn't...I couldn't control my rage. I just snapped. I shot him in the chest...he died instantly. The only reason I'm not in jail is because I was a minor, and because I wasn't in my right mind. I'd gone insane. I couldn't control myself." He shook his head. "After my parents were killed...I lost myself, lost parts of myself that I will never get back..."
When Sasuke stopped speaking, Naruto hugged him tighter and whispered in his ear. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry that you had to go through that." He responded. "But...even though murder is a crime...you were completely justified in your actions. If it would've been me, I would've done the exact same thing. They were your parents, you loved them, and I understand. Sasuke, I understand." He spoke softly. "You're not a murderer, not in my eyes."
Naruto looked up and into Sasuke's eyes, offering him a soft smile. "...you're not a criminal, you're not a bad person; you're just yourself." He leaned up and gently kissed Sasuke's lips, lingering only for a moment. Though, as he tried to pull back, Sasuke leaned forward and captured Naruto's lips once more. He kissed him until they were both out of breath, only stopping to breathe and press his forehead against Naruto's.
"...thank you...thank you for understanding." He whispered.
Before kissing Sasuke again, Naruto nodded and ran his thumb across the raven's pale cheeks. "Thank you for not pushing me away...for letting me in."
The both of them stood there, kissing and holding one another like there was no tomorrow. Naruto had never felt so safe, so wanted, and Sasuke's heart had never felt so warm. Never had he felt the things that he felt when he was with Naruto. The three days during which he had been denied the blonde's presence had been three of the worst days of Sasuke's life. Naruto made him feel, and without him, Sasuke was devoid of emotion, passion; he was almost lifeless.
Somehow, the two of them ended up lying down in Sasuke's bed, and somehow, they ended up shirtless. Everything had happened too quickly for either of them to comprehend it. All they knew was that they needed one another, and that they'd never let eachother go. In the time since they'd met, known eachother, and fallen for eachother, they had unknowingly become so dependent on one another. If one was without the other, they were incomplete. Neither of them knew how this silent codependency had come about, but it was too hard to ignore and too strong to stop.
Naruto, while straddling Sasuke's waist, trailed kissed from his chest, all the way up to his ear, and spoke softly to him. "I want you." I need you. "Please." He breathed. Sasuke leaned up and kissed Naruto whilst he unbuttoned his pants.
"I know." And I need this more than you know. "I want you too." Sasuke kissed Naruto again and helped the boy slide out of his pants while Naruto unbuttoned his. They both knew where this night was headed and neither of them could stop, nor did they want to.
Once Sasuke was completely undressed, he lay back down on the bed and let Naruto take over. The blonde slowly dragged his fingers across Sasuke's body, learning every curve and contour. He closed his eyes and kissed Sasuke's shoulder while climbing on top of him, letting Sasuke inside of him.
And when their bodies met, it was everything, all at once. It was magical, dangerous, divine, tainted, pure, fiery, amazing, painful, and beautiful...they were beautiful. And in the midst of it all, there was love; inalienable, uncontrollable love.
