Sakura is too old to believe in the lies she tells herself, but young enough to tell them anyway.

 

Everything will be fine; we'll be fine. (Even though Naruto has a demon inside him. Even though Sasuke will never be trusted alone and outside the village again. Even though, if the villagers had their way, both would be locked up, locked down, killed outright, because as a traitor, as a timebomb, they do not deserve to live any longer.)

 

And believing this (not really) is what finally allows her to fall asleep between the two boys wrapped around her body.
