Ch1.Running

`Hinata walked into the training area to see her father holding two side branch members by their hair. “Father what are you doing?” Hinata nearly screamed.
Hiashi looked up and smiled, “You are going to kill them, that is your training.”

“No I won't father it is wrong.”

Hiashi laughed, “If you won't then I will.” He raised his hand and she saw the chakra building around his fingers.'

As the hand connected Hinata woke. Shaking and sweaty she finally decided that enough was enough and she wouldn't be put through this torture anymore. Quickly packing what little she was allowed to have Hinata silently stepped out into the hall. As she walked all Hinata could think about was her friends who would miss her `creeek' “Shit” Hinata thought as she stepped on the creaky board in the hall.

Unfortunately for her Neji was already awake and he came bolting out of his room, byakugan activated. He turned to see her and relaxed but the stiffened at the bag she was carrying. “Hinata-sama, what are you doing up this early?” Neji knew something was going on and he was going to find out exactly what.

“Neji-niisan please don't alert my father, I must leave I can't stay here any longer.” Hinata whispered since her father's room was right down the hall.

“Why?”

“Damn it Neji my father makes me kill for training.” Hinata covered her mouth at this point because it was strictly forbidden to reveal Main Branch training methods.

Neji didn't say anything he just moved out of her way and as she passed he whispered “Go somewhere only I can find you.”

Hinata nodded and sprang off at the door to the outside.

As she ran Hinata didn't pay attention and ran straight into Shino who was training early. He caught her before she fell and found that her bag had spilled its contents on the ground.

“Oh Shino-kun I'm so sorry I will just pick up my things and go.” Hinata avoided his eyes so he wouldn't see her tears. Shino noticed anyway.

“Hinata, why are you crying?”

She looked up at him and her eyes told him everything from the pain of her past to the reason she had clothing in her bag. “You are leaving.” This wasn't a question, more of a statement.

“Yes I am and you must promise to only tell people I can trust.” Hinata's voice was pleading now.

Shino didn't like that she was running away but he knew she only would if it was absolutely necessary. He nodded and place he last few items in her bag before saying “Good luck”

Hinata forced a smile before she took off. She didn't run into anyone else and left Konoha without incident.

Hinata traveled all day and most of that night meeting no one. “I don't like this, why isn't there anyone around?” She muttered to herself and felt almost relieved when she sensed a presence. Hiding as quickly as possible she activated the byakugan. What she saw made her shudder. Two ninja, one with a huge sword on his back, and the other with Sharingan.

“Come out who ever you are!” the one with a sword yelled.

Deciding that it would be better to comply than to fight she emerged and She automatically knew who they were not that she hadn't already guessed.

“I-Itachi and Kisame, what are you two doing here?”
Kisame gave her a quick look over and noticed that she obviously hadn't eaten for a while and being out without shelter had made her cheeks red meaning she would probably come down with something.

“Oi!” Kisame barked “Don't you be asking us what we're doing here when you're not even in fire country anymore.”

Hinata realized this was true and her cheeks became even more red. Itachi felt now was the time to talk, “I think we really shouldn't be conversing with a Konoha Ninja Kisame.”

Hinata now spoke, “Not that it's any of your business but I'm no longer a Leaf Nin.”

A rare look of surprise came over Itachi's face, “Oh no then why are you still wearing your forehead protector?”

Hinata became angry with this but also knew that there really wasn't a point to it either so she took the headband off and slashed it with her Kunai knife. “Happy now?”

“If you're a rouge nija then we could get you into Akatsuki.” Kisame thought this was a brilliant plan since she had the byakugan and was a Jounin.

Hinata opened her mouth to answer but began to cough instead. When the fit subsided she answered, “It would be an honor to join such a well known group considering I was only abused at my last home.”

Itachi cleared his throat, “We would need leaders permission for that and how are we to know she won't betray us?”

Hinata was ready for this and lifted her shirt to just below her chest and across her ribs was a long white scar, “Do you really think I would go back to this?” She pointed to her scar, “That was a gift from my father.”

Kisame's eyes widened, “Well I guess we don't need to worry about that af…” He stopped as Hinata once again began to cough this time sinking to her knees.

“Oi, you alright?” Kisame asked helping her up.

Hinata smiled, “Yes I'm fine I've been sick for a while, it's something from a different land, my body can take care of it.”

“Itachi why don't we set up camp here so we can talk to leader?”

“Hn” was all Itachi said as he set his bag down.

“Hinata-chan, why don't you go to sleep so you get better, we can't have sick members.”

“Hai, Kisame-san.” Hinata rolled out her sleeping bag and climbed in. She lay there for a while but found it impossible to sleep so she listened to Kisame and Itachi converse.

“Kisame this is a bad idea and just look at her she's skin and bones as well as ill, there is just no way a person like that could get into Akatsuki.” Itachi said.

“That's nothing a little food and time won't take care of and come on don't you feel bad for her, she was obviously abused and she is willing to join. Besides she has the byakugan and leader has wanted a member with that bloodline trait for a long time they were all just too stuck up to come.” Kisame definitely had a way with words when it came to convincing Itachi.

“Fine but if he asks it was your idea.”

Hinata felt a flux of chakra and the two stopped talking. She looked up to see them in a sort of trance and she lay back down and went to sleep.

“Hinata-chan?” Hinata felt herself being shaken. Not knowing who was touching her she jumped up.

“Oi! Calm down it's just me.” Kisame was next to her with a bowl of soup I his hand, “Here eat this we have some stuff to talk about.”

Hinata did as she was told and found that not eating for two days made everything taste better. “So what did you want to talk about?”

Hinata took another spoonful as Kisame spoke, “Well, um, the leader would like to meet you.”

Hinata choked for a moment before swallowing, “H-he wants to meet… me?”

Itachi was annoyed now, “Of course he wants to meet you he can't just let anybody in.”

Hinata perked up, “So I have a chance?”

Kisame found her smile infectious and grinned, “Yup, and we told him it would have to wait about a week though.”

“Why?” Hinata once again began to cough and Kisame sighed.

“That's why.”
