Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Live To Die ❯ Team Seven No More! ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Blood, such a sight it was, so much emotion bursts forth at the sight. Although this was not just anyone's blood, it was his student's blood, his friend's blood. No! I will not lose any more of my precious people! Kakashi raced through the trees, leaves and twigs breaking and tearing under his footing. His thoughts raced around the fallen comrades and loved ones, Sensei, Rin, Obito… Please give me strength… Strength to save him… To keep all my precious friends alive… So no more of their blood will fall, and no more will leave my side. He felt the strain on his body growing, the strain from his sharingan, Obito's sharingan. His chakra supply was running dangerously low and the blood just kept flowing freely. Kyuubi, you bastard, you better not allow this boy to die! He knew that he had more than his share of fault on this subject; it was, after all, his technique that had done the damage. Somewhere in the back of his mind erupted a menacing growl that would have frightened the bravest of men, but Kakashi ignored it.

As he looked upon the body of his young student, limp and lifeless, he realized, when one thing led to another, he had killed his student, not by his own hand, but through his technique. Through his creation that should have never been held by any other. Sensei, His eyes burned and he could feel tears beginning their trek down his cheek. I'm sorry Sensei; again my ignorance has hurt my friends. One who I had sworn to protect all those years ago, of whom I had thought useless, talentless, and unworthy of becoming a shinobi; I've failed one of the simplest tasks you've ever asked of me. I'm sorry Sensei! I screwed up just as I had failed Obito! His thoughts played heavily upon his mind and as the red and demonic chakra leaked out of the body in his arms he felt a pulling, that of a much stronger force. It seeped into his skin and scolded his chakra system. On the ravaged and beaten path that he trusted to lead him to his destination; a path that led meanderers astray, but showed the way for a shinobi, opened and cleared into a massive wall. His sights set; he gathered his remaining chakra into his feet, preparing for the intense pain that awaited him on the other side of that wall. Using up his last bit of effort went into the leap and as his feet stuck to the wall something pushed him foreword, his legs moved out of their own will and his mind had already shut down, except for that one tiny bit of determination.
~
He awoke in a strange, yet familiar place. Where a recently collapsed cave had taken away someone away from him, someone that gave him strength and knowledge, even when he had very little of either to give. A motionless body was found half crushed underneath the rocks and boulders, and while his face was unrecognizable, he knew exactly who that was. His eyes widened and he stepped back a few feet. He refused to believe what he was seeing, his eyes were closed, but his mouth was moving, spewing out words that should have never been able to leave that deformed and bloodied body. “Kakashi…” His lips formed the words but the sound came from all directions and was made up of different emotions and tones randomly. “Please… Let me… Give you… Control…” His voice held strain and pain from every direction, from every voice, except for one; one that uttered every word in the back of his mind. “To see… To protect your friends… So I can see for you, and protect you… Sensei… Rin-chan… Please… Let me… Give you control… Of our sharingan!” The words held malice and pulled him into the darkness, a darkness of which you never come out of.

Foolish mortal! Is that really what you care about? Protecting your friends; dieing before your time just to see someone else's life go forth only to be shattered the next moment? Pitiful!

The words echoed in the darkness and faded off into nothing. His lips could not move and no voice was emitted from his throat, he couldn't breathe and his strength was gone, was this truly what dying was like?

You are wise enough not to challenge me, yet you do it anyway. Calling me names while trying to wriggle out of the guilt that has you entangled. You disgust me, was it not your technique, your foolishness, your ignorance that got your precious Obito killed? And was it not the same technique that was forced through this child's chest, by the one who you taught the technique to? Was it not you that focused only on the spoiled brat of an Uchiha, of whom you knew would betray the village for such childish motives? You who tried to compensate for his greedy soul by ignoring the other two, one of whom you knew was in great danger because of the power that is coursing through his veins, yet cannot control it, cannot use it to protect himself. You do not deserve to live any longer, though, you have luck on your side, for this child, of whom I am trapped in, sees you in such a high regard that he would not allow someone such as me to take your life. I give you warning, if you do not start giving more thought into what you do, no matter what the intentions, I will slaughter you with this child's hands and lay siege to your precious village, and take your students' lives with me. I expect you to be a better sensei, teach your students what they need to know to become capable shinobi. I would think you would've learned the last time someone died because of you.

As light appeared the voice began fading, a flurry of noise sprung from everywhere around him at once, but the voice continued on.

I will give you a new burden to bare seeing as how you've become such a lousy sensei, make use of it, as I am sure it will bring you a nightmarish life.
~
“N-Naruto?” His voice rang out and reverberated off the walls. Knowing full well where he was, and fully intending to disturb anyone to see if Naruto was alright he sat up, a little too fast. Unknown wounds opened up and blood spilt out onto the floor, a loud cry woke up a women slouched over in a chair that stood opposite the bed. Kakashi was quickly pushed back into the bed by a pair of strong hands; these same hands began the task of stopping the blood and closing the open wound. He knew not where these wounds had come from; he suspected that the voice in his head, that he instinctively knew was Kyuubi's, had something to do with it. His abnormal connection to the beast within his pupil was increasingly infuriating as the beast tormented him in unintelligible laughter. His sharingan was acting strange, the room twisting and turning upside down in one eye; he could feel the bile rising in his throat. And as the voice spoke in such a crazed tone that only a madman could comprehend the room went dark and precious blood was being lost.

This shall be the last you hear of me. Although this connection will leave a very narrow pathway between minds, you will be discouraged to try and walk it. I stay only to see you suffer, but it seems the enjoyment will soon end, I wish you a good day. For it will be your last!

And as the howling laughter faded into the dark recesses of his mind, Kakashi knew that it would never truly be over, for the minute darkness swallowed him pain engulfed his body and reality seemed no more.
~
Sakura's day just wasn't getting any better, first Choiji was brought in along with Neji, both had suffered sever wounds, Choiji chakra supply was almost completely depleted and Neji, well she didn't even want to recall the scene. So much blood, such a close hit to the heart, it was scary. Kiba and Shikamaru, thankfully, suffered minor injuries; Akamaru had suffered more injuries than Shikamaru did, partly thanks to his intelligence and the aid of Temari. Gaara had just gotten back about an hour ago using his sand to carry a drunken, but okay, Lee; Kankuro, well he didn't want to talk about it, Supposedly he'd gone to help out Kiba and supposedly said something pretty mean to him. His hands were currently holding an ice pack to hi crotch, Akamaru got a little mad about what he said to Kiba. All these things happening at once made her dizzy and extremely tired, but she couldn't rest. Naruto…she'd heard that Naruto was back along with Kakashi. She had started out walking at a fast pace, but he broke into a run when she saw the trail of blood. Tears were flowing freely when she got to them, but it was odd. It was incredibly odd. Kakashi's body was torn up pretty badly, his arms almost seemed like they were going to fall off. It was almost as it the only thing keeping them on was the solid surface he lay on. Naruto was cover nearly head to toe with blood, but not one scratch appeared in his skin. Her first thought was that Tsunade had healed him, but she couldn't of, she was over there with Kakashi healing his wounds. They'd only been here for five minutes, and she couldn't have, not even Tsunade of the sannin, could have healed him perfectly. Either he hadn't gotten a scratch on him the whole way or… or what? What could I be?

Ever since she had found out that Naruto had saved her when Sasuke could not she had held Naruto in a higher regard. She'd tried to think nicely of him and be nicer to him, but it was hard. It wasn't as if she didn't try, oh how she tried, but it was like something else was there keeper her from being nice to him. Her father and mother had always told her to never be nice to him, and to never speak with him unless she absolutely needed to; it seemed her parents' teachings had become a force of habit, but it didn't seem like it. If it wasn't that, though, what was it was? Was she scared of him? No, why would she be? Was she angry at him? She didn't think so, her inner persona usually knew if she was mad at anything and she seemed, unaffected by any anger. Why couldn't she move her legs, why couldn't she move? She wasn't scared of him, even if this was a classic symptom, in her case anyway. Her inner self knew exactly what was happening but Sakura unconsciously blocked her out. Calm down! Why are you so scared? He isn't going to attack, you know him better that that! He tries to protect you all the time and always tries to get your attention! Why are you, am I, so scared?

Pfft. `Cause you idiot, you're scared for him.

No I'm not! She screamed in her mind, her legs still weren't moving. Why would I be, he won't do anything.

Idiot! I said for not of! You're scared that he's going to die even when you know he'll be fine, you're such a coward, you can't even be brave around someone covered in blood.

Still bickering with her inner self she allowed herself to be escorted out of the room by some unknown person. She allowed herself to sit and try and figure out everything that was happening. Why would I be so scared?

Because you feel guilty!

Guilty! Why would I feel guilty?

`Cause deep down inside you know that it's probably your fault, you told him to bring him back, that piece `o shit that ignores your existence and thinks only of himself.

Before Sakura could think of a come back to her inner self she heard Tsunade speak. “Sakura, you okay?” Sakura's eyes opened up and saw Tsunade standing before her, unfazed and uncaring, but Sakura knew this was just a façade. She'd heard Tsunade had a fear of blood, and the sight of all of it must have frightened her to death

“Y-yeah, I just…”

“Good,” Tsunade said cutting her off. “I want you to escort Kakashi to room 212, and keep an eye on him please.” Before Sakura could utter any response she was sitting alone and everything became silent.

“Yes Hokage-sama.” She sighed. Better go get Kakashi-sensei.
~
She's got to be kidding! Sakura thought as she read the note that had been on the bed. I have to, fucking, get rid of his blood stained clothes and give him new ones! “I'm afraid that you'll have to get rid of his bloodstained clothes and give him a fresh hospital gown seeing as I'm busy healing Naruto and the rest of the teams' injuries.” Yeah fucking right! Naruto didn't have any wounds, I saw Neji and Choiji getting treated which was about an hour ago, and Kiba, Akamaru, and Shikamaru didn't need a sannin to heal there wounds. “I hope you understand that Kakashi's injuries are too severe for him to do it himself,” Sakura didn't bother to read the rest, she knew that it would just be more reasons why she had to, I guess I have to but, hokage or not, I will not, WILL NOT, fully undress him, he can wallow in bloody underwear for all I care.

She fully understood that teams would always have to face embarrassing times, but such is part of being a team; embarrassing things are bound to happen but a team must over come them. Still, the thought of what she was about to do freaked her out; for her, it would be much less embarrassing if it was someone she didn't know, that way they would both forget each other and their lives would go on, but this was her sensei. It's much more embarrassing if you have to undress someone you know and have to meet nearly everyday, someone who's your superior; it was just creepy. Especially since this was one of he biggest perverts in the village. I just have to get used to the idea, I mean it's not like he's going to, oh shit!

Kami, you're paranoid. It's not like you didn't know stuff like this was bound to happen, you practically signed up for it when you signed up to be a ninja. And you know that it could be worse, you know what some teams go through around this time.

Inner Sakura began chuckling evilly. SHUT UP DAMN IT!
~
She was stalling, it had been around fifteen minutes since she worked up the gall to start to undress her sensei and she'd only been able to lift his arms above his head and lift his shirt about half-way up before jerking away. No body could ever guess at how lowly she was putting herself down for not being able to do this simple task. Just get it over with damn it! It'll be even worse if he wakes up in the middle of it, he'll understand perfectly, but it'll make it even harder!

Suddenly realization hit her, excitement filled her and she began working on his clothes again. This is a small price to pay if I get to see “it”!

Being careful not to harm him any way Sakura soon had stripped away his clothing all except for his boxers and his mask. Going into the back room she dug up a pile of hospital gowns, taking her time to figure out which size she should use, she'd rather not have to get it off after she put it on if it was too small. After taking her sweet time, some to figure out what size her sensei was and the rest just to agitate her inner self. Slowly, so as to not disturb Kakashi's slumber, she slide on the hospital gown of her choice, though it didn't much matter, she still felt surprisingly pleased with it.

Sakura could barely contain herself, she resisted the urge to cry for joy about what she was about to do. Finally! I get to see Sensei's face! Sakura moved slowly, expecting a hand to fly up and push her away. Her fingernail scratched at the bridge of his nose when she hooked her finger around that which inhibited her view. She half expected him to wake up right there, but then figured that what ever sedative Tsunade had used on him had put him out for a long while. When se lowered his mask she gasped and she felt her face go red. So that's what he's been hiding! It's…
~
She'd been staring at him again. She just couldn't help it; she kept expecting him to wake up suddenly and surprise her or for him start snoring really obnoxiously. But he didn't, he didn't move, snore loudly, or anything she didn't expect. It gave her time to ponder. She had raced over here the moment she saw Kakashi's face, but when she got here she found him just lying there. He was barely breathing and it was all her fault. Sasuke had gone off to Orochimaru willingly and her teammate, who would risk everything for her, nearly got killed by that very person. She wanted him desperately to wake up and say something stupid and goofy and tell her that he was all right, but that wasn't happening.

Suddenly Naruto jerked violently and ripped out on of his stitches, blood began dribbling out at a steady pace. Sakura a little more worried than one should be with that kind of thing nearly jumped out of her chair. Sakura quickly rose from her position and went to look for something to press on the wound. Shouldn't be that hard to stop the bleeding, just have to put pressure on it, it'll clot and everything'll be fine. She thought rummaging through a drawer, unaware on the limbering body behind her. She was completely taken by surprise when a loud slam filled the room, she turned toward the bed and found that the bed was empty and the bathroom door was shut, slowly she made her way over to it and was preparing to rap her knuckles upon it when it sprung open.
~
“Honestly Sakura! It was completely irresponsible of you to do that! You should have known his wounds weren't completely healed!”

“Actually, Tsunade-sama, when I was in the room you were healing Kakashi in, I didn't see any wounds, that fact that he ripped out a stitch that wasn't there when I last saw him is really disturbing.” Tsunade, immediately acting as though the comment never came out of her mouth, continued to rant on about how she should have known better than to ambush a defenseless patient, even if it was Naruto. “It was just a hug…”

“I don't really care! You really shouldn't have hugged him like that, he smashed his head into the floor!” All the while ranting on and on she was scribbling something down on a small chalkboard, where it came from, she had no clue, too many places for it to have come from. As Tsunade stomped out of the room she looked over the scrawling message and nearly face-faulted.
