Lost

I looked for you today.

I looked everywhere I could think of.

I checked the old swing in front of the Academy,

The top of Hokage Tower, pausing to think …then to continue on.

At the bridge where we were supposed to meet,

I thought I caught the echo of your laughter.

As I passed the ramen stand you could have bought

With your patronage over the years, I was admonished

To bring you for dinner later, smirking I nod yes.

Rounding the corner I tensed with excitement,

Catching a flash of bright orange and sunshine gold,

But it wasn't you, only a poster for something.

Passing friends in the streets, I ask if they've seen you today,

They haven't, at this I become concerned, where are you?

At a loss, I go to see if Iruka would know where you are.

“…Have you seen him today?” I ask.

“Now that you mention, no, I haven't,” says Iruka.

He turns to Kakashi, and gives him a look.

“Did you try the memorial?” is his insightful reply.

“Hn.” And the hunt is on.

As I come closer I can see the look in your eyes,

Normally so clear and blue, like a sunny summer day,

They are cloudy with your turbulent feelings.

You look nothing like your usually strong self…

Lost, that's it that is the look in your eyes.

You look up at me with your lost child's gaze,

As I stand over you, your look clears to one of

Joy and love as you launch yourself at my chest.

“It's alright koi, my blue-eyed Kitsune, I will always find when you get lost.”

“Thank you, Sasuke.”

Hehehe, oops, forgot to put translations for some words. Here they are:

Koi- short for koibito-generally refers to one's girlfriend, boyfriend, significant other, or lover.

Kitsune- fox, in this fic it refers to Naruto.
