Chapter Eleven

 

xXhotparkaXx: Shino, I <3 u

bugginU: YES! I knew it!

HOkage2b: but Hinata why?

xXhotparkaXx: don't act dumb. Shino is so .. soooo …

 

“*mumbling* oh yes Hinata, I love you t- *snort*”

 

Shino awoke to one of his bugs flying straight up his nose. You'd think that for such intelligent and well behaved creatures, they'd be able to understand that the nasal cavity was a no-no.

 

`Damn, it was a dream. Anywho, time for plan “Thumb Breaker.”'

When they woke up that morning, Naruto and Hinata peeled themselves off the coffee table and had a hearty breakfast. They never actually got around to dinner last night. When it came time for Hinata to go, Naruto walked her home. They held hands as they strolled along at a leisurely pace.

 

*buzz buzz*

 

“One second. Someone just texted me.”

 

Hinata flipped open her phone, expecting an angry message from her sister - the purse over her shoulder was “borrowed”- but instead it was far from angry and deffinantly from Shino.

 

[PLZ TAKE ME BCK!]

[NO! GO AWAY! plz]

`Thwarted once more.'

`Dude. Give up.'

`Go eat a donut! Time for plan “Interception.”'

 

True to its name, plan “Interception” involved Shino standing in the entrance of Hokage Tower, intercepting her from making her daily visit.

“Puh-lease. You're faker than Michael Jackson and Lonelygirl15 put together.”

“How can you say that?”

“Um … because it's true. You weren't drooling over me last week.”

“Preposterous! My burning desire for you has always inflamed my heart my cold, dormant heart waiting for the return of your affection.”

*yak* “You're ridiculous.”

“Ridiculous for you!”

“Alright this has to stop. What's with you all of a sudden?”

“Well, I remembered what we had and I wanted to give it a second chance. Could you, could you at least try?”

“No. You know we never worked. You understand that don't you?”

*(finally) defeated sigh* “Yes, but you can't blame me for trying.”

 

He spread his arms wide, silently begging for one last hug which she granted. He took this last opportunity to be bold and kissed her on the cheek, disappearing shortly after. She sighed and looked towards the heavens, contemplating her humble and clouded past, the mayhem of her present and the endless possibilities of the future. She had no idea what to think of the future but she resolved to make as much of the present as she could.

On that beautiful day, Hinata wasn't the only one making resolutions. Shino resolved to move on and find someone else to make him happy. Sasuke and Sakura resolved to restore the Uchiha clan … over and over … and over again, eventually producing a buttload of babies, which (thankfully) grew up without their father's angst. Ino resolved to get over Shikamaru and dieting and, to everyone's jaw-dropping surprise, settled down with Shino. Even though others didn't get it, to them it was like a bug to a flower. Lee resolved to seduce Tenten with his Sleek-N-Shine bowl-cut and blinding you-just-burned-a-hole-in-my-eye toothpaste commercial smile. On the other hand, Tenten resolved to knock boots with a more sensible man like … Gaara, who resolved to let her have her way so long as they kept knocking boots. Kankuro resolved to get more stories for the golddigging bitches whose own resolve deteriorated with each stupid tale. Temari resolved to get a new pet mouse. Chouji resolved to do absolutely nothing different. Finally, Naruto resolved to love Hinata till the end of time and proposed to her that night beneath a full moon. Yes, I know, what are the odds that they're all making resolutions on the same day when it's not New Years but it happened.

END STORY

 

… probably. I've run out of steam on this one. But I'm going to try ONE MORE TIME! The next story is Sakura X somebody X somebody else + that guy over there. I'll take my chances with a crazy love triangle. So far it's turning out to be more like a love pentagon approaching love octagon … we'll see what happens …
