Alright next chapters up, I hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, but I'm sure that I own something. +Think+ +Think+. I know I own Shizuka, Shori and Shori's buddy (not going to tell you his name yet).
`How I can let Gaara know that I'm here?' I wondered sighing. I stared at the ceiling, following a crack with my eyes, but absolutely no idea came to mind. `To bad I can't summon an animal.' I thought with a laugh that quickly disappeared.
`Maybe I can persuade Shori to take me to the village?' Directly I realized how impossibility that was and closed helplessly my eyes. `If anyone would recognize me, Gaara would be standing here pretty fast on the doorstep and that's something I bet Shori wants to avoid.' I turned myself until I was lying on my side and nuzzled my head in my pillow. Quickly my thoughts got sucked up in dreams.
I stood in the middle of a flower field staring at the moon. I saw the flower petals light with the reflection of the moon and kneeled smiling to pick a flower. When I straighted myself again I felt two strong arms surround me.
The man pressed himself against and laid his head on my shoulder. Stimulated by the fragrance of sand I relaxed against him.
“Gaara.” I said gently, my hand bringing to his head to caress his red locks. He kissed my neck and expressed moan of happiness. Smiling I closed my eyes enjoy the man whom I loved.
“Why can't you love me that way?” I heard all of a sudden a voice disturb my sociable gathering with the Kazekage. I opened my eyes and saw Shori standing before me with a sad face.
Then Gaara's arms disappeared and when I twisted myself around he had disappeared. Confused I turned back to Shori and almost bumped up into him. I quickly wanted to step backwards, but he had already pulled me against him.
“I love you.” He whispered caressing my jaw line before his lips descended to mine. As if someone else was controlling my body I felt myself kiss back while in the back of my mind I was screaming to stop.
When we felt air become a necessary, Shori release my lips and stared dreamily at me. “I love you, Sei!” He said in a daze and I want to yell that I wasn't Sei, but my mouth didn't react.
“Is she that good?” I heard a third voice and twisted my head to see a black shape. In the back of my mind I got aware that I could move my head again.
I knew that the shape was the foreigner of the Matshuo clan and looked back to Shori, but he hadn't heard him. “Hime…” The stranger smirked.
With a jolt I shot awake. Panting I looked around taking in my surroundings. Calmed down I let my head fall back on the pillow.
`That dream…' A shiver went through my body. That dream had given me a bad feeling. Nevertheless I took only one hour before sleep overtook me again.
-
“Alright, I'm done.” Shori said obtaining me from my thoughts. I looked up from the blank paper in my hand and looked in the happiness radiating face of my husband-to-be.
“How far along are you?” He asked friendly and I looked back excusing at the paper.
“Not far.” I mumbled and saw him frown. He pulled the paper out of my hands and stared a little hurt at the emptiness of it. “Sorry, I'm not real good at this.” I excused myself and continued in my head. `It would be easier if I was writing vows for the man whom I loved.'
“Why don't you read mine, maybe you get an idea.” Shori offered already pressing his vows in my hand. With a forced smile I accepted it and read it.
Before I met you I thought that my life wasn't much worth anymore, but in this short time you've healed my heart of his broken state and I've given it freely to you. Now I'm standing here with the promise to love you for the rest of my life. Each danger I'll fight for you and my own life is yours to sacrifice. I'll do my best to make you the happiest woman in the world, because I know that you're making me the happiest man alive.
With a heavy heart I looked up in Shori's happy face.
“This is beautiful.” I admitted honestly. I couldn't believe that someone had written that about me. If only it was Gaara, who wrote this, but I guess he wouldn't be that good in expressing his feelings.
“Well, well, isn't this the pleasant sociable gathering?” A voice suddenly disturbed us and I recognized the voice of the foreigner.
“Danjuro, you're early.” Shori said to the stranger as greeting while I could finally take the man in.
Just like Shori he had black hair, but there lay a brown shine on it that it could also just be really dark brown hair. His eyes were pitch black and I noticed that he features would be handsome separately, but everything together cursed his face with an ugly appearance. The clothes that he was wearing showed the lines of his muscles where he clearly was very proud off since he had taken the best position to flaunt with them. Everything together just gave me an intimidating feeling.
“And this must be our Shizuka-hime.” He pronounced my nickname exactly the same way as in my dream and I felt a cold shiver run up my spine. He walked towards me and grabbed my hand planting a kiss on it. The kiss lasted to long in my opinion, but that could have been just my imagination since he was staring me to dead with those smirking eyes of his. At last he let go of me and my hand fell limp back in my lap. I felt myself a ragdoll.
“Yes, this is my Shizuka-chan.” I heard Shori's voice say polite and at last the pitch black eyes looked away.
“And Shori-kun how far are you standing with the preparations?” He asked back just as polite while I felt myself coming back to life.
“There going fine, we're actually busy with the vows.” Shori answered still in his polite tone and Danjuro smiled back at his friend while sitting himself besides me. My reflexes wanted to make my shoot closer to Shori, where it was safer, but my stubbornness didn't let me move. To make me even more uncomfortable, Danjuro laid his arm behind me on the seat.
“And how are the vows proceeding?” He asked with a smile, but I could imagine that tone better with a smirk.
“Mine's finished.” Shori answered and I felt Danjuro's eyes bore in the back of my head.
“And yours, Shizuka-hime?” I felt another cold shiver run up my spine and stared at Shori's vows in my hands.
“I'm still working on them.” I said quietly and felt him bend forward.
“What are these then?” He asked curiously and I let him slide Shori's vows gently out of my hands.
“There's Shori's.” I made him clear still with a small voice.
“Euhm… It's another.” He said after a small inspection to the writer and I saw Shori's face darken.
“Of course.” Danjuro clearly found this answer clearly enough and returned the paper to me.
“I think it would be best of I returned to my room and let you guys alone.” I said suddenly jumping up. Shori, who was clearly happy with the interruption, nodded with a smile in his eyes. I wished them both a good day and rushed the room out, but didn't move from behind the door after closing it, hoping to catch a little of their conversation.
-
“How are the preparations going for the next attack?” Shori's voice had clearly become more forced, but Danjuro didn't noticed or ignored it.
“Good.” He briefly answered.
“You've already got a date planned?” Shori continued and his friend nodded.
“Your wedding day.” He said and I heard Shori make a surprised sound. “We're keeping the Kazekage away. Consider it my wedding gift.” Danjuro made him clear and I could just imaging Shori's face lighten up.
I knew that my future husband didn't get the double meaning of that sentence, but I understand it pretty well. `He's going to give the marriage away to Gaara so that he can never get on time in Konoha to stop their attack.' I bit my lip, wondering how I was going to stop this.
`Maybe I can use Shori's crush in my favor.' I decided and quickly walking to my room before the passer-byes started to look oddly at me.
-
Once in my room I started on my vows again, but my thoughts drifted every time to Gaara.
`There must be a way to let him know that this is a set up.' I thought, but shook my head and wrote something on the paper in front me.
“I promise to remain faithful to your love.” I said aloud to hear the impact of the sentence. I decided it was good enough, but my mind floated again to my previous thoughts.
`Maybe I could get Shori to tell Gaara about the attack?” I nodded approving these thoughts and heard someone knock on my door.
“Yes!” I called and Shori came in.
“How are you progressing?” He asked and I nodded while biting my lip, letting him know that there was something wrong.
“What's wrong?” He asked as expected.
“Euhm…I've heard that that friend of yours is going to attack Konoha on our wedding day.”
I said quickly and my husband-to-be frowned.
“How do you know that?” He asked bitter.
“I overheard a maid.” I invented quickly, thanking the one who came up with that profession. This was the second time that they came in handy. Shori visible calmed and sat beside me.
“He's doing this to keep the Kazekage away from us.” He answered as if I would also approve of the idea.
“Or…” I started and he looked questionable at me. “…he's going to tell G… the Kazekage about our marriage to keep him away from Konoha.” I said fast remembering to use Gaara's formal name. I had an idea to let him know that I was the bride-to-be.
“He wouldn't do that!” Shori exclaimed all of a sudden while jumping back up. I realized that he was going to leave me alone so I stopped him by grabbing his hand.
“But what if I'm right? Think about it.” Shori turned back toward me and I could see the doubt in his eyes. “This would be the perfect way to keep the Kazekage away from Konoha.” I fed his doubts.
“N… no, he wouldn't do that.” Shori stammered again and I knew that I got my victory.
“You could inform the Kazekage yourself about the attack.” I saw Shori's eyes rise in size with the word traitor in them. “If you want to prove that Danjuro spoke the truth then you should inform the Kazekage yourself.” My future husband's eyes reduced back to their normal size.
“And he wouldn't come here to find out if I spoke the truth?” He said sarcastically, but I had my answer already ready.
“You can write an anonymous letter.” I made him clear as if he had just said the stupidest thing ever. I saw him doubt again and continued with my plan. “You can always call him Gaara instead of Kazekage to show your `respect'. It is anonymous.” I tried persuading him further and I saw that I had succeeded. Just the idea of taunting Gaara with his birth name made him cooperate.
“Great idea.” He said before he left my room with a grin. Now I only hoped that Gaara got my small message.
Stephke23: Now I do hope that you get the small message, but if you don't, don't panic I'll explain first thing next chapter. And please review.
