Dates and Friends“Sasuke could you well... could you sleep in my room tonight.” Naruto said looking hopeful, which blew Sasuke away. Trying to squash unwanted feelings that seemed to bloom in his gut. He was only going to sleep there and nothing else. But other things didn’t seem to agree with him on that subject.Sasuke was ready to say no but if Naruto was asking him this then he really was scared. So Sasuke only nodded and they went together in the blonds room.A Walk down Jealously LaneWhat greeted him when he woke up was instant warmth, and comfort. Opening his coal black eyes slowly, he blinked away some of the sleep staring up into the ceiling. Sasuke slowly exhaled and then blew out the air ready to go back to sleep. He was just closing his eyes when he noticed he felt a little to warm. Sasuke brought his hand up or at least tried to but it seemed to be trapped. Snapping out of his momentary collapse, Sasuke quickly looked down only to see sunshine blonde hair on his chest. He had to blink a couple of times until he came to the realization that Naruto was sleeping on top of him. Naruto’s head lay on his toned chest, while one arm was under his head like a pillow and the other was wrapped around Sasuke’s side. Sasuke quickly looked around the room suspiciously before slowly bringing Naruto in a loose hug and closing his eyes again, a small smile on his softened features. He could get used to this.When Naruto woke up next, he felt a soft breeze throughout his upper body. Slowly opening his eyes he moved only to find that he couldn’t. A little panicked Naruto turned his head on the hard surface only to see... Sasuke?Sasuke, he was sleeping on Sasuke’s chest. Naruto blinked dumbfounded, wondering how the prick had come in late last night and lifted Naruto so he could... Wait that didn’t make sense. He then tried to think about what had happened last night and it all came back.Naruto suppressed a chill that wanted to come out. He remembered last night, with the thing under the bed, but hadn’t Sasuke said it was the dog? Was he really that paranoid? Shaking his head Naruto looked up at Sasuke. His features looked so calm and peaceful compared to his regular face and, wait Naruto paused, why was he thinking about Sasuke like this. He was not GAY. Nope not gay. He liked girls and even went out with a few. He put the whole sleeping thing together with nerves and left it that way.Turning a little Naruto slowly got up trying not to wake Sasuke up. He sat on his feet, stretching with his hands up above his head, yawning. He really did get a good nights rest though, he got up intent to take a shower. Naruto jumped off his bed and was going to unlock the bathroom door, when he again got a chill down his spine. Looking around he noticed the windows were closed, but his bedroom door wasn’t. Naruto looked at the ground and saw Shadow sleeping on some dirty clothes and Ramen was by the window sill. He turned to see Sasuke on the bed. That’s it Sasuke most have not closed the door last night. But then why was it so cold in here.Unlocking the door quietly Naruto stood in the doorway frame switching on the lights. Looking around the tiled texture from top to bottom he went in the rest of the way. He quickly stripped and jumped into the shower head turning the hot water on, while closing the plastic curtains. He must have stayed there for awhile because the water temperature was going cold on him. He finished soaping up his lean chest and short hair. That’s when he felt the curtains on his arm, lifting his head he saw the curtains moving back and forth on there own. Grabbing the curtain fast he twisted them aside looking around. Nothing was there, again he was acting stupid, thinking someone was there. Signing loudly he got out turning the shower off. Rubbing a towel in his hair and one rapped around his waist, Naruto went up to the mirror already pulling his orange shirt on. He rubbed the mirror free of steam and changed into his blue jeans. Seeing that he had no circles under his eyes, he playfully looked at himself in the mirror, winked and left turning the lights off.He spotted Sasuke, who was still sleeping on the bed before exiting his room, leaving his door open for a change. His feet padded across the hall, turning on the lights as he went. In the livingroom he settled down on the comfy couch and flipped through the TV, waiting for Sasuke to wake up.Thirty minutes later in came Sasuke, with his button down gray shirt and black pants ready for work. Behind him came Shadow wanting to be fed. The dog barked happily bouncing around while Ramen sat by the kitchen counter meowing. “Hey Sasuke when are you getting off of work today?” Naruto questioned as he turned his upper body around to see the Uchiha in the kitchen.“About eight why.” Was the answer. Naruto frowned at that.“Well I’m meeting some of our friends today after work.” Naruto replied, going back to the TV.“You mean your friends.” Sasuke said walking into the room before sitting down. When he had last woken up, Naruto wasn’t there. He had strangely felt cold too, missing that warmth, but he shook it off. He couldn’t be thinking about this right now. “No I can’t tonight.” He finished.Naruto made a noise in his throat watching TV. They ate their usual routine cereal, and finally had to leave for their work about an hour later. Naruto got up off the couch and was going to put his bowl in the sink when he passed Shadow. The dog was watching the small fireplace, staring at it intently with his eyes and ears down a little. Naruto looked strangely at the dog then at the fireplace. They never used it before, it was more of a decorative thing than anything else. Naruto turned shouting, “Hey Sasuke come here. Your dog’s acting stupid again.” Naruto finished waiting for his friend. Sasuke just grunted walking into the livingroom, and going straight for the dog’s collar. The dog didn’t seem to want to budge though. Sasuke then looked up where the dog was staring only to see the small harmless fireplace. He didn’t need this, he needed to go to work and he most certainly didn’t want Naruto upset like last night.Finally the dog budged and walked away into the kitchen to eat the rest of his meal. “Sasuke maybe something is wrong.” Naruto murmured looking at the fireplace.“Nothings wrong Dobe, the dog’s just stupid like you said.” Sasuke said as he opened the front door. Naruto only nodded his head, also stepping outside and locking the door. “Ok Sasuke I’ll see you later.” Naruto spoke already walking in the right direction where Sasuke had taken the left. They didn’t really need a car because everything was right there for them so they thought it would be a waste both money wise and insurance. They could also just take the bus if they wanted too.Nothing was really different with work. Naruto greeted people as they came in, and helped them with whatever they needed. No what Naruto was really waiting for was when his friends got there. For now he would just have to wait. Naruto shook his head before smiling a bright cheesy smile at a young lady who walked up.She seemed pretty shy, with long brown hair, highlighted with red. She had small freckles on her nose and soft doe like eyes looking straight at him.“Could you show me where the tooth paste is?” She said, with a small smile.Naruto looked down at her, “Sure come on. It’s this way.” He finished before winking at her. He saw her face heat up and turned away chuckling softly.He walked the isles like an expert and ended right up to where the tooth paste was. Naruto turned and pointed rather dramatically making a fool out of himself. The young woman smiled and bent down showing her cleavage, which Naruto took a small peak before turning his head. He wasn’t a pervert after all.“Thanks... um what’s your name?” She said fiddling with the tube of tooth paste. “I’m Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki. “ He said, holding out his hand.“Hi,” she said before grasping his hand, “I’m Kathy Turner.” She finished. Kathy was then about to leave, but did a little skip and turned around, rather confusing Naruto.“Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? About eight?” Kathy said, hope filled with her voice and face.Naruto was truly dumbfounded. Sure he thought the young lady was beautiful, but oh heck.“Sure, that would be great. Lets eat at this one place I really like, it’s a ramen stand.” Naruto said, and smiled when he saw Kathy nod her head happy. They exchanged their numbers before Kathy went on her way, leaving Naruto to ponder about his date. He really hadn’t dated for awhile, but he was sure he still got the charm.Naruto walked away with a little tune on his lips when he paused mid step. ‘Wait oh shit ’ He thought. He was supposed to be hanging out with his friends later. Oh well he could do both he supposed.Around four the big doors opened to a rather large group of people. Now if the store owner didn’t know any better, he would have thought the group had come in here to steal. In the lead was a rather muscular figure with a head full of crazy bed hair and a large brown coat that contained a little dog in the hood. By him was a girl with long pink hair, flowing around her face. She was wearing a short blue skirt with a red shirt that had sakura blossoms on it. Behind her was a rather large individual with brownish orange punk rock hair. He was in a light brown shirt and black shorts. In his hand was a large bag of chips. Then there was another young lady, who had long blonde hair that was in a pig. She was also wearing a short mini blue skirt and a long blue shirt that showed a fan on the back, and a lot of cleavage in front. The last three figures came in last. They looked like the one’s that didn’t want to be there. First there was a short spiky red head with intense green eyes. He had a tattoo on his left eyebrow, the second one had short spiky brown hair that looked like a pineapple. He had a very bored irritated look about him. And the last on had dark sunglasses on, even though he was inside and short black hair.Naruto walked right up to them and shouted a heartfelt hello, before slapping Kiba’s back.“Naruto are you done yet man?” Kiba said slugging Naruto’s arm. Temari came up next and did a light tap on his shoulder, winking at him. Naruto turned red, he knew Temari always flirted with him but still. He was in public with his CEO’s watching.“Ok lets go before they kick us out.” Shikamaru said, turning around grabbing Chouji by his shirt, dragging the boy out before he started to buy random things on the shelves.“So man where do you want to go.” Kida asked the group in general. “I don’t care.” Gaara stated, looking like he wanted to be somewhere else. Naruto took a quick glance at Gaara before rasing an eyebrow at Kiba. ‘What was with sand man?’ “Oh don’t worry about it. It seems that Gaara’s pocket had a whole in them and well the sand slipped through.” Was all he said. Naruto nodded sagely trying not to laugh. If you ever laugh at Gaara in his face, you will get hospitalized for a month. Naruto knew that, heck he had even seen it.“I was thinking we go to the café shop that just opened.” Sakura spoke up. Naruto turned to her, she had grown a lot since childhood. She was now working as a nurse trying to get her masters. She still had a crush on Sasuke so that wasn’t anything new, at least she wasn’t one of the fan drooling clubs that literally stocked Sasuke. No she had started to date this Lee guy after he had asked her out a total of seven times, that was very impressive for Sakura.“I don’t care, This is better then staying home doing chores or having to listen to Ino talk.” Shika said putting his hands in his jeans pocket. Lets see about Shikamaru, well he was actually applying at a police station along with Ino. At first the group thought he was joking but then again Shikamaru never joked.Naruto stepped aside once again to let people through, thinking about his date and trying to get his mind of off yesterday with upstairs and Sasuke. He didn’t know what he felt towards the ice prick anymore.They entered the café shop five minutes later. The place itself was small but had a homey feeling towards it, and it was very bright. There was light everywhere and about ten tables in all.The group sat down pulling tables together and starting up the conversations again. They talked about College and how they were doing. Naruto confessed that he indeed did enough extra credit to bring up his scores. They made fun of the dean, who was a pervert and was rumored to be writing porn books for adults. Naruto knew for a fact that it was indeed true. Heck the old pervert Jairiya had even tried to pass the book on to him, to keep quiet. He still had that book too.During their talk about dates though was when Naruto announced his own, feeling very proud he stood up straighter.“Hey she was very nice and friendly. Her name was Hinata, and she is loaded.” Kiba exclaimed proud of his girlfriend.“You know I have a date too.” Naruto opted to say in the brief silence. Everyone at once turned towards the blond, looking at him in astonishment. A little giggle set the whole group off with roaring laughed.Kiba had even banged his fist on the table, even Gaara and Shino had shook their shoulders. Naruto looked at them a little hurt. He could have a date too.“Man that was a good one.” Kiba finally said after near hyperventilating. Naruto shot him a glare and said it was no joke.“Oh Naruto I’m sorry I thought you were joking.”Sakura said looking into her friends eyes.“Well yeah I have a date later tonight with this cute chick. Her names Kathy and I have the phone number to prove it.” Naruto stated after he had still seen some questionable looks. Why was it so hard for them to believe that he had a date? He had them before he went to College. They just never worked out for long.He was brought back to reality when his friends began to talk again, but they seemed more serious, with the air getting tense around them. “...I know and that never happens here.” Temari was saying to Sakura and Chouji. Kiba was nodding his head and the rest were silent.“What?” Naruto said totally lost about what was going on.“Haven’t you been listening? There has been a couple of murders going around and the police still don’t have any leads.” Chouji spoke up, looking around the small café shop like the murderer was going to jump out at them.“Wait what do you mean? There was nothing on the news... at least I don’t think so.” Naruto murmured.“Yeah it was on the news, but the police are keeping it on raps so it’s really only speculation. Apparently it’s been happening throughout the neighborhoods.” Temari said and then went into the little detail she had found out on the internet.It turned out that five people have already gone missing only to turn out dead in alleyways and old abandoned storage’s.After there little get together, the group parted ways going home or what not. Naruto himself had to go home to get ready. He was actually a little nervous about the date and hoped he wouldn’t make an ass out of himself. He walked up to the curb and turned towards his house. People were walking around, walking their pets and saying hello to their neighbors. But nothing to important was going on. Naruto’s creepy neighbor hadn’t been out since he went crazy and boarded up half the windows. Naruto grabbed his keys quickly unlocking only the bottom lock. Sasuke was home so he would only have one lock, while Naruto preferred all of them. He looked around one more time before going in the house and locking all the locks including the chain lock. He turned around hearing familiar claws clicking along the wood, and a entirely different set of padded feet.“Hey Shadow,” Naruto said bending down to meet the dog’s head,” he straightened looking back at Sasuke, “Hey Teme, your home early.” Naruto mused, walking into the kitchen.Sasuke walked toward the living room sitting back down. To him Naruto looked a lot more cheerful then usually. Probably because he had seen his friends. He heard Naruto move into his room, turning on all the lights, with his cat Ramen right beside him. Sasuke smirked at the blonds antics and went back to watching the news.Naruto came out about forty minutes later, apparently he had taken a shower, spiked up his hair messier and... Sasuke had to take a double look. Was this really Naruto? The Dobe that he knew? Naruto stood by the couch trying to straiten his black smooth shirt that showed his chest and broad shoulders. His ‘Nike’ black pants were also on with nice looking comfortable shoes. The last thing that he wore was a small silver chain around his neck. Sasuke just stared, wondering where Naruto could be going, dressed like this. “Where are you going Naruto?” Sasuke finally managed to say. Naruto just grunted in the back of his throat before looking up into coal black eyes.“Oh nothing much except I’m going on a date in about five minutes.” He said casually, inwardly Naruto felt very proud that he had said it in a calm and cool voice.On the other end of the couch Sasuke was seething, Naruto had a date. Impossible, the Dobe never went out and why now? With who? Sasuke had to stop him somehow but what could he do. He turned and watched as Naruto had started to pet Shadow.“Naruto I think you shouldn’t go, There has been murders lately...” Sasuke started but was soon cut off.“Yeah I know that Sasuke, what you think I can’t take care of myself.” Naruto said a little angry that Sasuke thought him weak. Naruto then dug into his pocket and produced his cell and the knife to prove that he was fine and would be safe. “Anyway, I have to go so don’t wait up for me Teme.” Naruto said walking out the door and into the cold crisp night air. Back in the house, Sasuke sat on the couch with cold detachment. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Raged the Uchiha, ‘Naruto shouldn’t go on dates because... well because’. Sasuke stopped that train of thought. He was not jealous that some bimbo was going out with his Dobe, no sir, he was not jealous at all. Sasuke seemed to have stopped his little rant in his head when he got up to see if anything eatable was in the house. Naruto that baka was supposed to make dinner today and he was also supposed to go shopping. Did the Dobe do any of that? Of course not. Sasuke signed and sat down at the kitchen chair. The whole house was eerily quiet with the TV on in the background. He had to get out of here, go somewhere and maybe eat something decent for a change. With that Sasuke got up, turned off some lights, and the TV, and went to lock the front door. Earlier he had checked the small fireplace to make sure nothing was stuck up there to make Shadow act like he did. Of course he felt foolish when he thought about what he was doing and when he had seen nothing up there.Sasuke walked out and to the left. If he knew Naruto, the Dobe was going to that ramen stand. He was actually thinking of going there just to see this date, he wasn’t going to stock them or anything just simply going to eat at the same restaurant. Sasuke stopped dead in his tracks, God he was really acting like a jealous boyfriend! He couldn’t deny it anymore to himself, he was into the Dobe.
