[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Bara: Well, I'm about to update and give you all another chapter, but first.... I've been doing an experement on people's cooties. But, seeing as how there are so MANY cooties on people, I had to make due with just one. First subject was Sasuke's cootie..... and... well.... *looks at black puffball with spikey hair, black eyes, white paws and no visable body or limbs to speak of.* ...... IT'S CUTE... But it looks like Sasuke..... *pokes SasuCootie*
SasuCootie: *growls at Bara*
Bara: ... Evil lil' bastard. -_-; My next experement shall be of how to get rid of the SasuCootie. O.o; No matter how cute it may look, it is very deadly to one's mental well being, having to put up with it's angsty-emo nature.
SasuCootie: *growls and semi-barks at Bara*
Bara: On with the fic!

"Do you remember anything?"
"...Two lights... Then one....then...."
"Alright. Do you have any memories from befor?"
"...Yes."
"What do you remember?"
".... Everything up to my death, I think."
"... Alright, go get washed. There's a lake not far from here. You can use that."
"Right.... Zabuza-san?"
"Hm?"
"What do we...... Are we still...."
"No. Now go wash up. we have a long way to go."
"Where to?"
"Anywhere but here."
"Hmhmhm.." (A/N: That's supposed to be surpressed chuckling. -_-)
---------------------------------------
He was a man. He was a man and hated to be treated like a kid. He was not a kid! He was going to be thirteen in exactly twelve hours, fourty-seven minutes, five seconds and counting. He was no child, which is why he had decided to go and catch some fish for tonight's dinner. Of course, he had told his mother about it befor heading out.
His father would be proud. So would his (unofficial) big brother!
Ever seince the day Gatou was killed he trained hard to make sure that his home wouldn't be like that ever again. He ran as far as he could, did push-ups, sit-ups and helped carry heavy objects for his mother and grandfather. He was strong. He, as well as many of the villagers, knew it. If they didn't know it, he'd let them know. He had to admit that his training might work better if he knew how far he ran and how many push-ups and sit-ups he did.
And so, he continued his march to the lake, fishing pole swung over his shoulder, bucket full of bait swaying lazily from side to side. He knew where to get the best fish. He knew what the best bait was. But as he came to the large dark pool of water, surrounded by fireflys hovering overhead, he realized that there was something he didn't know.
"Who's that girl?"
Yes, a girl. A young woman, actually. She had justfinished wringing out her long dark hair when Inari spotted her. She was now tugging at the sleeves of her green sweater she had on, not looking entirely pleased with it. She then, laying out one of her legs, started to tug on her pants leg, as if by doing so, she hoped to make them longer. It soon became clear to Inari that this was indeed the case, seeing that the cloths she had on were too small for her. They might fit on Inari, or someone a little older than him, but not on a woman who was about twenty.
'Where'd she come from?' Inari pondered to himself. 'I don't remember seeing her in the village. Maybe she needs help?'
He looked at the bucket of bugs and bugshapped trinkets he had a tight grip on. If he detoured to help the woman, he'd be home later than he'd planned. Also, the fireflies were pretty close to the water, which meant the fish were closer to the surface and easier to catch. If he helped her, the fish might decided to go deeper into the lake and rest for the night..... if they rested. As he weighted the pros (however small) and cons, he watched the burnett. She had tossed aside a pair of sandels she had tried to put on, decideng instead to soak her feet in the lake water. Her clothes looked worn and old, dirtied by soil with verious holes in them.
He continued his march towards the woman, puffing out his chest and stiffening his shoulders, hoping it would make him look stronger. He had decided that a real man would help out a damsile in distress... no matter how small. It was just something they did! (Don't question it!)
The dark haired woman, noticing his presentce, looked at him with curious dark eyes. After a moment of studying her, he realized something....
SHE WAS HOT! her eyes were somewhat large, but not large enought to make her look childish.... A cute large .... you get it And rimmed with long, thick eyelashes. her mouth was small, but her lips were full and soft looking. Her long brown-black hair, wavy from being washed, nicely frammed her face and complimented her cre`am colored skin.
Who was this beatuiful maiden?
--------------------------------------------------
'Who is this strange child?'
As the boy marched up to him, trying to make himself look tough but doing poorly at it, haku let out a soft sigh. Would he be so lucky as to be ignored for just a little while longer?
No. The boy was now a few few to the right, stairing at him, slumpped over, cheeks red with a goofy smile on his face.
The clothing he choose to wear looked.... familiar, to say the least. Around his mass of messy midlength hair was a white rope. He wore a loose orange shirt, it's long sleeve rolled up to his elbows. A pair of black overalls were held up by a black and orange belt, not being clipped over his shoulders. The legs of the overalls were rolled up just above his ankles so that he wouldn't trip over them.
He could feel a smile tugging at his lips. Somehow, this boy reminded him of a certain orange clad ninja.
"Hi!"
Haku, suddenly dragged from his thoughts, blinked. The black haired youth now sat next to him, a wide smile on his face.
"My name's Inari!" he continued. "What's your name?"
"Inari," the older repeated. "My name is Haku. Nice to meet you."
"Ha....ku..." the boy named Inari sighed. After a moment, he cleared his throat and attempted to continue....
But nothing came out of his mouth except incomprehensable babbles.
Finally, after a few minutes, haku asked, "What brings you here, Inari-kun?"
"Ahh! Uhh, I -- I, uhhh... *Ahem*.... I saw you here and you... looked...kind of lost! Yeah! Lost!"
The older male chuckled. earlier, he had seemed so sure of what he was about to do.
"Well, actually," Inari confessed, "You looked kind of troubled. You looked like you could use some help, and..."
"I think i understand," Haku nodded. Pausing to think, he added, "Isn't there a village nearby? Do you live there?"
"Hai!" he answered. "It's not too far from here. I could take you there, if you like!"
The long haired beauty smiled warmly at the youth. energetic, eager and all too willing to help someone with a pretty face. Again, much like the blond ninja.
Sighing, Haku rose, dusting off his damnaged clothes and turning to the woods from whence he came.
"That might not be in best of interests, he said as he walked. "Thank you anyway."
Inair watched Haku's back, feeling that he had done something to offend "her" somehow. But before entering the the dense wood, Haku stopped, sighing as he turned to face Inari.
"Befor you get any ideas, I think It's best you know something."
"What?" Inari asked.
"I'm a guy."
With that, he entered the gathering of trees and shrubs, leaving behind an extreamely shocked and unbelieving Inari behind.
------------------------------------------------------
He should've waited. It was just too horrible for words. Why didn't he wait for Haku to get back? He was getting impatiant, that was the only explaination, the only excuse. Yet, to him, that didn't seem to make enough sence, for some reason.
"Zabuza-san?"
He turned to his younger partner, who had started to put his hair back into a bun untill he saw their campsight.
"What happened?"
"Uhhh... nothing?" This was more a question than an answer.
"Zabuza-san, you're surrounded by dead---"
"I know, Haku."
"You could've waited for me to come back---"
"I kno------w, Haku," he growled.
The young man shook his head. "Alright. you clean up while I go and get more fish. Please, wait this time?"
The rough ninja snorted as he picked up the fish corpses and organs.
'Next time, let Haku gut the fish. he's better at making sushi anyway.....'
