[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Hey, I was bored so I just thought this up while I was writing for `Broken In Pieces'. Yea, new ideas always spring in my head every time I write plots for new stories. So here is my cool ass one-shot, `Masquerade Ball'. This is for my cool reviewer AnimePrincessInuLover!!!

As I was walking back to room after my private piano lessons, there was a sealed letter on my desk. What could it be, you ask? None other than an invitation to a masquerade ball! And not only that, the hosts were the almighty Uchiha's! Only the richest of families and high ranking were ever invited, so this was my chance.
“Ma, Daddy, look! An invitation to the Uchiha's Masquerade Ball!” I exclaimed running to my parents. They smiled at me at I decided to read it aloud. I put on my older voice and read:
`Dearest Sir and Lady Haruno,
We invite you to our annual Masquerade Ball this year. Please wear you best dresses and suites, and don't forget your masks as well. Also, we wish to inform you that are youngest son, Sasuke, will find his bride that night. Young Lady Sakura is now eligible for marriage, so we expect to her accompanied by you both. You know where the palace is, so be there at 7:30 sharp, tomorrow.
-Sir and Lady Uchiha'
“Isn't this wonderful darling? Our Sakura is one of the candidates for their son's wife!” My mother squealed in delight.
“Gina, see to it that Sakura finds a fitting dress and mask to wear at the ball,” My father commanded our maid, Gina. He turned to me, “The color is your choice, of course.”
“Yes, sir. This way, Lady Sakura.” Gina said gesturing her arm toward the door.
“Just a second, Gina. Be sure to find a mask for me as well, something that would match my green dress. Oh, you know what I'm talking about.” My mother said waving her arm.
“Of course!” Gina squeaked, her face flushing. Even my father's jaw dropped slightly. Everyone in my house knows that she hasn't worn that dress since 20 yrs ago. It's tight now, but still fitting. And she knows it too but she just won't admit that she's gained some. Not that she's fat or anything…
“Oh Sakura! Isn't this great? You'll have so much fun!” Gina exclaimed when we finally reached my room.
“I know! I've only seen Sasuke in magazines so I'm so scared to see him in person! What if I get to marry him?!” I whispered. Both of our eyes widened.
“Oh my God!!!” We squealed thinking about it. We jumped up and down until we finally got serious.
“So, what color shall it be?” Gina asked.
“Pink, duh!” I replied. Everyone knows it's my favorite color!
“Sakura, your choose pink for everything. Pick another color. And I don't care if I get scolded or not, I won't get a pink dress for you!” Gina argued crossing her arms. She is so defiant sometimes! And stubborn as a mule!
“Oh fine! Red then,” I gave in looking away. “What do you think Sasuke's going to wear?”
“Well, I swore to the other girls I wouldn't tell anyone about my connections but,” Gina started. By other girls, she means the maids. “I'll tell you. In a magazine I was reading, it was all about him! So I already knew about the ball. I'll show it to you; it shows what he'll be wearing!”
“Why didn't you tell me this earlier?!” I demanded. Important info on hot boys is the #1 priority in my book! “Well!?”
“I said sorry, jeez. But honestly, I swore word to the other girls not to tell you. So shush!” Gina said running out of the room. Then she zoomed back in with a thick magazine in her hands! She flipped the pages and flashed the book in my face. “Ta da!!”
“Wow!! That's awesome!!” I gushed all kinds of comments. Sasuke was absolutely handsome, I swear. He had on this black tuxedo vest with a dark blue tie and white button up shirt. He wore black pleated pants and his tuxedo jacket was hanging on his left shoulder, making it look almost like a cape.
“And check out his mysterious mask! They say his family bought it from and antique store during their vacation at the Indies.” Gina said pointing to the next page.
It was indeed mysterious. The mask was black of course, and nose part protruded a little so it looked like a bird beak. There was a tiny ruby right in the middle of the mask. “I'm glad the mask only covers half of his face. At least I can see part of his face up close.”
“It's his eyes that I'd like to see up close. They're usually onyx, but you can see them change red sometimes. Except for his brother Itachi. They're always red.” Gina explained to me. She's starting to sound like a stalker…
“Anyway, back to the dress! Before we search for mine, let's go find moms. Hers is probably in some box collecting dust. I'll help you find it.” I said.
“No way! I'll look for it. You look through that magazine of dresses over there and tell me which on you want to order when I get back!” Gina ordered. She walked out in search of that dress.
Great. Now I have to search for a…red dress. Red is the TOTAL opposite of pink. They're like mortal enemies! Or oil and water! They don't get along. “Ooh! I want this one!”
“Which one?' Gina asked somehow appearing right behind me. I jumped and pointed to the one I wanted. It was an empire waist dress with straps that go over the shoulders and cross at the back. Plus, it was long so you wouldn't have to see my skinny legs. “Cute!”
“I know. Now all I have to do is put on death trap shoes and hideous makeup! My hair should look a mess too!” I chimed in.
“Why is it every time we have a special occasion you hate wearing those kinds of things? You look oh so cute!” Gina asked.
“Eh? Just because I look cute doesn't mean I'm comfortable. But enough talk. Let's order the stupid thing,” I said.
“I wish I could order a new dress for your mother…” Gina muttered. I stared at her for a second and burst out laughing. That would be a sight to see!

We stepped out of the carriage and sauntered the doors where guards were standing. I have to say, I think their palace is 3 sizes bigger than our mansion. Now that's HUGE.
“Sakura, stop spacing out and walk.” My father scolded as we walked inside. Holy crow, I was right! But forget that. My eyes were completely set on the one family that stood out from the rest. The Uchihas. They were absolutely gorgeous in person!
“Ah, Sir and Lady Haruno! And Young Lady Sakura!” Fugaku greeted us. That was Sasuke's father. I had read a passage on him in the magazine.
“We're pleased you have made it,” Mikoto added. If you don't know, that's his mother. They looked like twins. “You look wonderful.”
“It's very nice to see you again, Lady Haruno.” Itachi said kissing my mother's hand. She blushed slightly. Well, he was cute.
I turned to see Sasuke was chatting with the most beautiful women I have ever seen in person. I only thought they existed in magazines! They all had sequin masks on that covered all their face like mine.
“Is that you, little Midori?” I heard Itachi ask. I swirled around and saw a girl with chocolate brown hair and lime green eyes approach us. She had a blue halter dress and seemed the same age as Itachi.
“Of course it is silly! And stop calling me little,” Midori said giving him a peck on the cheek. I got the vibe that this was his fiancée.
“Lady Sakura, why don't you go speak with Sasuke now? He's staring at you.” Itachi whispered in my ear. He put his hand on my shoulder and turned me slightly around. I glanced and saw Sasuke's hand waving me to come over. “Go.”
“O-Okay…” I muttered walking away. I watched Sasuke shoo all the other girls away and pick up another glass. He handed one to me. “Hello, you're highness…”
“Hello to you too, Lady Sakura. Enjoying yourself?” He asked in an annoyed tone. What had I gone and done now?!
“Yes. Y-you have a very lovely palace.” I complimented. “Are you?”
“Not really,” Sasuke replied. That one caught me off guard. “All the girls won't leave me alone and my mother won't less this ball end until I find a wretched bride.”
“Well that sucks!” I said putting my glass down. He looked at me surprised. “Shouldn't you marry who you want to at your own pace?!”
“…I don't know,” Sasuke answered. I could see the curiosity in his eyes. “Itachi got engaged to some girl he didn't know and he's happy. Wouldn't I?”
“I-It's coincidence that he's happy with her! There's no w-way it'll happen again! You should marry who y-you want.” I stuttered. His eyes turned red on me and they were mesmerizing.
“You're different.” Sasuke mused. “I've never met a girl who wants me to marry who I want instead of begging me to marry them!”
“I want to marry who I chose. Not someone I just met.” I said with little confidence. I wanted to grovel on my knees right now and beg! “Isn't it good to be different?”
He raised my chin with is finger and stared at me. Blush rushed to may face as he came in closer. “I like that.”
“What?” I dare ask. He smirked at me and his eyes reddened deeper.
“I like that about you. Wanting to be different. I like you,” Sasuke finally answered. I thought I'd have a heard attack right then and there, but I didn't. I was in a state of shock.
“I like you too,” I said back. Wait- WHAT?! D-did I just confess?! How could I just blurt that out…?
“Shall we dance then?” Sasuke asked. I could only nod. We started swirling on the dance floor. Everyone parted away from us, in my embarrassment. I could feel jealous stares of the girls and surprised stares from out parents.
“Everybody's watching…” I said resting my head on his shoulder. I don't know why, but I did and he let me.
“I forgot they were there,” Sasuke said kissing my head. How we got so close in only half an hour is beyond me! But I think I'm enjoying it…
“Sasuke?” I blurted out. Oh my gosh, I forgot to say sir! I waited for a while but he didn't seem to mind. “Why wouldn't you dance with the other girls?”
“Because I love you best.” He answered. That on caught me off guard. We stopped swirling on the floor and stared at each other. Okay…this is getting scary. I wish Gina were here!!
“Uhh…” I couldn't think of anything to say. He smiled at he and his onyx eyes were soft through his mask.
“I want to see your face,” Sasuke said. He lifted my mask off and gently put it in my hands. My eyes were locked on his. “Beautiful.”
“I want to see your face, too,” I said. I dropped my mask and lifted his. My heart stopped. He was drop dead gorgeous in person without a mask on. I looked away from his eyes and realized we weren't inside. We were in some garden. I looked back at him. “Wow…”
“Sakura, I have a serious question for you. Can you're heart take it?” Sasuke joked. He rubbed my cheek and I felt it getting hot.
“Maybe not, but ask anyway. I can always pass out later…” I muttered. His eyes turned red on me and calmed me a little. He moved loose strands of my hair away from my face.
“Sakura,” He started, hesitating. I smiled to encourage him. “Even though we've just met, I feel like I've know you…forever. And I'd like to know you forever…”
“Me too.” I said poking his soft cheek. He flashed his teeth at me and chuckled. I giggled with him.
“Anyway, I'm serious-”
“As am I.”
“Sakura…”
“Yes?”
“I'd spend an eternity with you. I've never met a girl like you. Yes, different is good. It's beautiful. You're beautiful! Please, marry me?”
“Yes. I want to stay with you. Forever and ever!”
I heard clapping behind us. Sasuke put his arm around my waist and turned me around. I saw a blonde boy with a purple-eyed girl, a purple-eyed boy with a girl that had two buns, and Itachi with Midori.
“Oi Naruto, what are you doing out here?” Sasuke asked.
“I came with Hinata genius! Congrats buddy! You're engaged! But I beat you to it. Like the rest of us.” Naruto said. I looked at the girl name Hinata and realized she was THE Lady Hinata. She's the heiress of the Hyuga family. And that purple-eyed boy was Sir Neji. He was like, the ultimate fighter in the Hyuga family.
“So it seems mom was right. You'd find somebody tonight.” Itachi added. Midori gave me thumbs up and winked. I winked back.
“Took you long enough!” Neji said. The girl with him laughed.
“Yea, Sasuke. What took so long?” She said. “Oh, and I'm Tenten by the way Sakura!”
“Very nice to meet you,” I answered.
“Let's go tell our parents.” Sasuke suggested.
“Can't wait to tell dad this one!” Naruto said chuckling. Then it hit me. He was the son of the King! Oh my gosh, that's Yondaime's son!!
“Holy crow…” I mumbled.
“I know. Can you believe it?” Sasuke asked.
“What's wrong?” Naruto asked turning to face us. Hinata skidded to a halt and turned also.
“No, nothing.” We said in unison.
“Just what we need. A pink haired Sasuke clone…” Naruto said grabbing Hinata's waist making her squeak. “Too rough? Sorry.”
“Well, he's pretty nice.” I said walking along Sasuke's side.
“But you love me, remember that.” Sasuke stated proudly.
“Of course.” I answered kissing his cheek.
This is officially, the best day of my life! I can't wait to tell Gina! The maids with have tons to gossip about. Ooh, I'm excited. I really do love Sasuke. He's…so hot!! ^^
