Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Maybe I'm Not Alone ❯ Gaara's First Lesson ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Disclaimer: I own Harumaski Kiyoko, but I do not own Naruto.
A six year old girl with sad eyes came running through some mist. Her body was soaked in blood, tears, and dirt. They wouldn't stop chasing her. She looked behind her but didn't see anything, yet she could still sense their chakra coming closer and closer. She tried running faster, but her little legs couldn't take it. They finally gave in and sent her stumbling through a bush. She got up, gasping, only to be surrounded by five mist ninjas.
"What do you want from me?" cried the little girl."To die." one of the five simply stated."We saw you transform into....into that thing. You are a freak! We must kill you before you hurt anyone!" another said.
"But...but I can't help it." she said through tears, "Just stop! Stop!"
Her eyes lost their pupils and and turned into a glowing white. Her long black hair seemed to cascade around her. Her hands came together and formed some hand signs to form a jutsu; hands from the ground sprouted up from the ground and caused big holes to form around the five ninjas. The arms grabbed them and dragged them straight down to hell. Their screams were still in the air. The girl turned back to normal only to hear more footsteps behind her. She sighed, realizing she has to keep on going to escape those angry and scared villagers and so she started running and running until-
Now that everyone thought the Demon was gone forever, it's been over year since anything like that happened. You were now ten but your nightmares still existed. You woke up. You heard something crack. A twig? You quickly sat up and threw a kunai towards the sound. It missed. You heard footsteps running around you. You stood up.
"Whose there?" you called out.
There was no answer. You were really annoyed.
"Byakugan." you whispered.
You saw him and smirked. Another sand ninja. Many sand ninjas seem to have been tracking you for some time, but this one was different. He was less... experienced. With perfect aim, you threw a needle at his neck, which would make him unconscious for at least an hour, instead of killing him like all the others. As his body dropped, you quickly scanned the area to check if he was alone. Satisfied with your seach, you approached the body. You searched the boy, who was probably 3 years older than you, for anything valuable. Everything that was on him consisted of a scroll, his weapons and his clothes. When you examined the scroll, you saw no threat of it exploding or anything like that and saw your name. You opened it and what it said was surprising.
It read:
Harumaski Kiyoko, daughter of Harmuaski Daiki and Samaki Akemi, A.K.A: The Demon,
I, the Fourth Kazekage, request the presence of Harumaski Kiyoko (The Demon) to Sunagakure within three days of receiving this scroll. The team of shinobi that delivered this scroll will escort you. If you refuse to come, I will be forced to make your existance known to the world, where you would be hunted everyday.
I glared at the scroll and went to the ninja's body and sighed.
"I guess I have to wait until he wakes up then..."
----------------------
After an hour, the boy groggily woke up. Just to find a little girl standing over him.
"Finally, I've been waiting for an hour for you..." you said, unimpressed.
He saw you and couldn't help but ask.
"You're...you're the Demon?" he whispered.
You rose an eyebrow.
"And if I am?"
'What a smug little girl...' he thought."I have a message for you.."
He looked around but couldn't find the scroll. You hid a smirk.
"Well...um.."
"Relax, I have it. Glad to see the Kazekage didn't seem to think to send a more competent ninja... What are you? A genin?" you asked."Y-yes." he seemed nervous."Are you alone?""No.""Where is your teammate then?""I have two and my sensei is here as well, but I was sent to scout out the area since I'm the fastest one.""How long ago did you see them last?""Only 20 minutes...well an hour and 20 minutes.""So they should be caught up by now, right?""I...I guess.""Hm...I wonder where they are.""Well, they are really slow compared to me and I...I... what are you-?" he gulped nervously as he saw me pull out a kunai."Be quiet. You talk too much."
I glared at him and pointed the kunai at him.
"Does your team believe in protecting each other?" I asked him in a sweet innocent voice, that was nicely complimented with your cute, curious 10 year old angelic face."Of...of course!" he said.
You moved the kunai closer so it was touching the skin of his neck.
"Now don't try anything stupid." you whispered in his ear."I won't.." he said, eyeing you warily. "My, oh my, where is that team of yours?" I asked, looking around, "Oops."
You 'accidently' cut part of his shirt and in the process lightly scratching his skin, leaving a thin red line of blood. You heard a gasp. You smiled. You quickly pulled out three shuriken and threw it there, only meaning to pin them to something.
"No!" the boy screamed."Relax. I missed one." you said, annoyed that he yelled.
You hated loud things. "Come on, let's go check the two that's pinned on the tree." You stood up. He didn't move. You smiled at him and tilted your head ever so slightly then pouted, "Well, you don't think I'll leave you so your sensei can come rescue you, do you? You're going to let me walk all alone to the trees over there?" you asked. He looked confused then eventually stood up and walked towards you. You smiled and held out your hand. He looked even more confused and took it. Then you two walked, hand in hand, looking much like an older brother and a little sister towards the two trees. You were swinging your arms. When you both reached it, you realized how close you were to hitting anything serious.
"Hiroyuki-kun, you're okay!" the girl teammate replied, surprised, "Whose...whose she?"
"See, they're okay." I stated, smiling, "My name is Harumaski Kiyoko."
She looked at Hiroyuki, confused.
"But she's just a kid!" she said."I think she's really the Demon, Hiroko-chan..."
You looked at the second guy and gasped. It was a substitution.
"Well I see whose the more talented one in your team." I stated, eyeing the empty tree warily. "Nani? Where's Ichiro-kun?" Hiroko asked."Obviously escaped my attack." I said, annoyed, "Can you tell the rest of your team that I mean no harm? I simply want to discuss the details of this message."
I held the message up. Then the last two members appeared. One was an red-haired older man and the other was a ginger-haired thirteen year old boy.
"You're Harumaski ?" the boy, who you assumed to be Ichiro, asked skeptically.
"Expecting someone better? Good luck finding someone..." you said, used to the doubt.
"If you are, then you must prove it." the sensei said."No, I don't. If you return back to Hidden Sand Village empty handed, I imagine that your Kazekage will be very disappointed... I really don't feel like proving it to you people." I said."Good point...I will force you to use your powers." he said quickly.
He went into a defense move while his three students went into hiding spots. Knowing this was coming when you saw Hiroyuki untie Hiroko, you were prepared. You shook your head and held your hand up.
:"Um, I don't think so... if I pull this wire any tighter multiple explosions will start throughout the surrounding forest. Almost surely killing your students, wherever they may be." I said. "You're bluffing." he said, unconvinced.
"Am I?" I asked, pulling it slightly, setting a tree behind him on fire.
He sighed.
"You're obviously not an ordinary ten year old." he stated and nodded, "Return, you guys."
The three returned instantly.
"We finally found the Demon."
------------------------------------
You arrived at the Hidden Sand Village two days after that incident. You didn't really know why you were sent there, but you'd rather not have the Kazekage telliing the whole world your secret. It was already late but you five entered the Kazekage's office anyway. Before you entered, you saw a boy about your age on top of a roof overlooking the village. You stared curiously at him then continued following the team. They all bowed, including yourself.
"Kazekage-sama, we have returned with the Demon." the sensei said.
The Kazekage glared at the team.
"Leave." The team left and left me with the Kazekage. You bowed again.
"Hello..." I said."I am not surprised you were that hard to track... We've waited for 5 months for this. I've sent advanced teams of ANBUs after you but you alwasy seemed to sense them and escape, until finally I realized that maybe you wouldn't bother with a genin team." he said."So, those people really were after me? Thought so. Now may I ask why I was brought here?" I asked.
"I am currently training my....son to be a weapon for my village." he stated, "I want you to train the jutsus you would only know."
"Hmph. That's almost impossible. Unless your son has huge quantities of chakra and amazing control of it, he wo-" I was cut off."He has a demon inside of him." he stated.
I glared at him.
"Well then... in that case, I think it can happen... I need him to tap into his-""Already done. You will live with my family until the training is complete.""Only a month.""A month? That's too short.""Take it or leave it." I said.
He glared back at you.
"Fine. A month. After that, we'll ask you to stay a little longer, if you decline or accept then-""I'll decline."
"We'll see about that."
--------------------------
Then you were introduced to the Sand Siblings. The youngest was Gaara, who you were going to train and was the same age as you, ten. The next was Kankuro, who was twelve, then Temari, who was thirteen. You noticed Temari and Kankuro were a little distant from Gaara.
"H-hey! I saw you before..." I said, pointing at Gaara.
You walked up next to him.
"Hey! Don't do that!" Temari said, trying to pull you back.
It was too late and the sand attacked you. You smirked and easily dodged.
"You were the one on the roof..." I giggled, "Is it true you're ten like me?" I asked, beaming. There was a silent pause."Yes, he's ten." Kankuro answered for him, "Gaara doesn't talk much.""Oh... I used to be like that, because no one really listened when I talked." I said out loud and thought, 'No one listened when I was trying to explain I wasn't going to hurt anyone... or trying to warn others about me... no one really listened.'
There was a sad expression on my face, "That was until... until I didn't care if people listened or not. Now I'm here for myself and no one else." I said, determined not to let the past get to me. Kankuro and Temari looked surprised. Temari coughed and looked away. 'Is she like Gaara? She seems more... friendlier.'
"Um, Aeli, why are you training Gaara?" Temari asked.
"If I answered that truthfully, then I would have to kill you." I said, sweetly.
She laughed.
"Aw, I doubt you'd kill me, little girl. You're so cute!" she said.
I quickly did some hand signs and did a jutsu. Hands sprout out from the ground and grabbed Temari's ankles. She gasped. "Hey! Stop it!" The hole got bigger and it started pulling her down. I smiled.
"Stop!" the Kazekage yelled. I rolled my eyes and stopped the jutsu. "I'm trying to show your son exactly what I can do. Isn't that why I'm here?""She really is here to train Gaara!?" Kankuro asked, "Surely, Gaara's stronger than her...""I am sure that he is, but she knows stuff that no one else does... She's a weapon all on her own." the Kazekage said."I'm a person too, you know. I know where you live so you don't have to escort me there." I stated coldly then disappeared.
But you didn't go straight to the home of the Kazekage, instead you went to Gaara's roof. You sat alone, looking at the moon, but not too long because Gaara soon followed.
"What are you doing here?""I now know why you come up here so often.... It's beautiful. It reminds me of my mother."
Gaara tensed at the word and glared at you with a new intensity. You leaned back and sighed.
"Ah.. what bad memories those are." you said, smiling. "Leave before I kill you." Gaara said. "Gaara, why are you so mean?""I said leave." "Why don't you just kill me now? Kill me!" you shouted.
He glared at you and sand came from all around. You smiled as the sand wrapped around me. As it squeezed, your form started to change. You started to turn into sand.
"What... what are you doing?""I am able to turn into anything I touch. Gaara, this is your first lesson."
A six year old girl with sad eyes came running through some mist. Her body was soaked in blood, tears, and dirt. They wouldn't stop chasing her.
