Title: Mother

 

Summery: While on a mission, Tenten thinks about her mom and then runs into not only her mother but her sisters as well. NejiTen, ShinoOC, little ShikaIno at the end.

 

Warnings: I was bored. OOC-ness. Kissage. Evil brats named Gaki (OC, not the one that Shino falls for). Sexists named Yuki (`nother OC, but this one's a guy). Lee in general. My weird sense of humor. Use of honey, Shino's bugs and Lee. Idiots with acrophobia.

He couldn't help but be worried. She wasn't usually like this. Tenten was staring off into outer space, completely distracted. But if they were attacked, he knew she would react, as quick as always.

 

“Neji…” He was knocked out of his thoughts by his male teammate's voice.

 

“What?” He asked.

 

“Are you worried about Tenten? I wonder what she's thinking that would make her zone-out like this…” Lee said.

 

Neji could only wish he knew.

 

 

Tenten sighed. She was thinking about her mother. How she took Tenten's twin sister and the younger three and just left her with her father. Deedee was Tenten's twin sister and almost had the same personality. But, Deedee didn't want to be a ninja. That was why Tenten's mother took Deedee with her and left Tenten. “She was helping…” Tenten reminded herself. If she lived in the village her mother did, then she wouldn't be able to become a ninja. Naru had been five when Tenten had last saw her, so, she'd be ten now. Kuroichigo and Ichigo were Tenten's youngest sisters and twins. They had been three meaning they'd be eight now. They HAD been they youngest. Tenten knew her mother could have gotten remarried and had more children.

 

“We're here!!!!!” Lee yelled.

 

Tenten looked at the sign in front of her. It read “Village of the Peace.” That was where her mother had moved. “What exactly was our mission, again?”

 

“A man wanted us to protect his wife, five children and four step-daughters.” Lee said. “Why?”

 

“N…nothing.” Tenten answered. “That description could fit my family…”

 

In less than five minutes, the three stopped in front of a mansion.

 

“Welcome to our… TENTEN?!” the three turned to a girl who looked almost exactly like Tenten, only she had waist length hair that couldn't go into buns.

 

Neji and Lee turned to Tenten, whose eyes widened. “Deedee?” She asked.

 

The girl nodded. Deedee had tears in her eyes. She ran over and hugged Tenten. “Mother will be ecstatic!!! She's been thinking about going back to see you and father!!”

 

“Umm… who's this?” Neji asked.

 

“Oh! This is Deedee, my twin sister. Five years ago, my parents got a divorce and my mother, Deedee and my three younger sisters moved here. I stayed behind because they don't have a ninja school here.” Tenten explained. “Deedee, this is Lee and Neji, my teammates.”

 

Deedee's eyes widened. “You're a ninja?” Tenten nodded. “That's great!!!” Deedee ran towards the house. “Mother!!! The ninja's Yuki hired are here and one of them is Tenten!!!!”

 

There was a loud crash from the inside of the house. “Tenten!!!!” Four voices shouted.

 

The door burst open to reveal a woman, a girl with brown hair pulled back into a pony tail and two small girls dressed in matching overalls; one blue, one green, with their hair in buns like Tenten.

 

“Mother! Naru! Ichigo! Kuroichigo!” Tenten yelled. The three girls ran from the door into Tenten's arms. The woman walked over and hugged Tenten, smiling.

 

“You've grown so much…”

 

“Neji, Lee, this is my little sister Naru,” Tenten patted the girl with the pony tail on the head. “Kuroichigo,” The girl in the blue overalls waved. “And her twin sister, Ichigo.” The girl in the green overalls waved. “These are my teammates.”

 

“I'm Tenten's mother, but you can call me Ippin.” The woman said.

 

“Yes ma'am!!” Lee said.

 

Ippin giggled and then started looking both boys up, down and around.

 

She stopped and pointed at Neji. “This one is fit to date my daughter, Tenten.”

 

Tenten blushed. “Mom!”

 

“What?”

 

Tenten shook her head. “Why were we hired to protect you?”

 

“Yuki is a political leader and he's going on a business trip. He's afraid someone is going to come and assassinate us.” Ippin explained.

 

“Mommy!!” Tenten watched as three small, three-year-old girls with their blond hair in pigtails ran up and latched themselves on to her mother.

 

“Who are they?” All three asked.

 

“This is your step-sister, Tenten.” Ippin said, pointing.

 

“Really?!” the girls asked, eyes as big as saucers.

 

“Yes. Tenten, this is Rubi, Emerarudo, and Seigyoku. They're triplets and three years old.”

 

“Hello.” Tenten said, shaking each girl's hand.

 

“Sissy!!” A two year old boy ran up to Deedee.

 

“Hey there, Ringo.” Deedee said, picking up the boy. “Meet your step-sister, Tenten!”

 

“Nice to meet you, Ringo.” Tenten said.

 

“Ippin! I can't watch all these kids!!” A girl Tenten's age came out of the house.

 

“Tenten, this is Yuki's daughter, Gaki.”

 

“Feh.” Gaki said, scowling. “Who are you supposed to be? You're dirty, you're not wearing make-up, and you're nails look hideous.”

Tenten was about to say something, but Neji beat her to it.

 

“Tenten's strong and doesn't care about things as trivial as make-up, fashion, appearance or social status. That's why she's one of the most respected female ninja in our village.”

 

Gaki turned to Neji and her jaw dropped.

 

“Umm… Uhh… hi.” She said, weakly, blushing.

 

“Gaki!” Everyone turned to see a man standing in the doorway. He was blond with piercing blue eyes.

 

“Tenten, this is Yuki.” Ippin said.

 

Yuki glared at Tenten. “Women should stick to their given rolls in society; mothers and housewives!” He grabbed Ringo and the triplets. “Gaki, fallow me!” Gaki ran after him. “What you expose your children to is out of my power, Ippin, but so long as I'm at home, my children will not be exposed to such trash as “female ninjas”.”

 

“Yuki, you will not call my daughter “Trash”.” Ippin said, sternly.

 

Yuki smirked. “If she has the illusion that she will ever be strong enough to be a ninja, then she is trash.”

 

“I already am a ninja.” Tenten said, irritated by Yuki's attitude. “In fact, I'm one of the one's you hired to protect your family.”

Yuki stopped. “What? I specifically asked for the best weapons master in that village.” He growled.

 

Lee stepped forward. “You can search all over the planet, but you won't find anyone as good with weapons as Tenten is.”

Tenten flashed a grateful smile at him as Neji nodded in agreement. “Thanks guys. I owe you one.”

 

“Why?” Neji whispered back. “We're just stating the obvious to anyone with eyes.”

 

Tenten blushed as Yuki stomped back into the house.

 

“I'm sorry. Yuki comes from a family of ninjas but he always thought that females shouldn't be allowed to become ninjas.”

 

“Dose he have acrophobia?” Tenten asked.

 

“No… but Gaki dose… Why?” Ippin said.

 

“Oh, nothing. Guys, do you think we should call Shino and ask for backup?”

 

Neji and Lee smirked (well, Neji smirked did. Lee just smiled because he didn't know how to smirk) and nodded.

Yuki had left an hour ago and Tenten was grateful. This ment she only had to see him one more time, on the last day before she left.

 

Shino had not arrived yet, but he was sure to arrive soon.

 

“Tenten.” She looked beside her. It was Neji. “Do you want to train?”

 

“Sure.”

 

“Where are you going? You're being paid to protect us and you can't do that if you leave.” Gaki said.

 

“Okay. I guess you'll have too come with us.” Tenten said.

 

An hour later, Ippin and all her children, minus Tenten, plus Gaki, were sitting with Lee on the edge of a field wile Tenten and Neji stood in the middle of it.

 

Tenten took three shirken and threw them at Neji. He caught two with his own weapons and dodged the third one. She jumped back and into the trees. He tensed, looking for her. Suddenly, weapons seamed to fly out of the trees from every direction. Neji dodged carefully. He wanted to see how many he could dodge without using the Kaiten. As suddenly as they began, the weapons stopped. Tenten fell out of a tree and landed on her feet.

 

“Neji, look ou…” Tenten's voice was frantic. Neji felt a sharp pain in his blind spot. Gaki screamed as blood hit the ground and Neji fell. “NEJI!!” Tenten was at his side in a second. “Neji, why didn't you use the Kaiten?” She asked. It was a Fuma Shirken. And a poisoned one, to make things worse. She pulled out the weapon, grabbed a kuni and made the wound larger, but only slightly.

 

“What are you doing?! You're making it worse!” Gaki yelled, running up.

 

“No, I'm helping him. That was poisoned; we need to clear out the poison with a free-flowing stream of blood.” Tenten explained. After she was sure all of the poison was out of his system, she grabbed some bandages and covered the wound. “Are you all right, Neji?”

 

“I'll be fine. This is a walk in the park compared to when you're really ticked at me.”

 

“Well, that's good.” Tenten said. She helped Neji up and everyone headed to the house. Shino was waiting there.

 

“Hello.” He said. He looked at Neji and raised an eyebrow. “Was there an attack?”

 

“No. Training.”

 

“Yikes.”

Tenten woke up in the room that she shared with Deedee. She immediately knew something was up. Lee hadn't barged in to wake them up. She woke up Deedee and they went into the living room. Tenten flicked on the lights.

 

“Surprise!! Happy Birthday!!!” everyone except Neji and Shino yelled, jumping out from behind chairs, tables and couches.

 

Tenten and Deedee laughed. Neji and Shino had on party hats and Neji was holding a birthday blower in his hand while glaring at Lee, who smiled back.

 

 

 

Unknown to Tenten, her two teammates were basically having a conversation with looks.

 

“I'll kill you.” Neji's look said.

 

“It's for Tenten. It'll make her happy.”

 

“……………………&# 8230;…………………You are still going to die.” Neji ended the conversation by looking at Tenten instead of Lee.

 

Tenten was talking to Shino about something. Neji felt a twinge of jealousy as Tenten laughed at something Shino said. “Why am I jealous? There's nothing to be jealous about. They're just talking.” Neji thought.

 

“Hey, good-looking.” Neji glared at Gaki, who was standing in front of him. He turned back to Tenten and Shino as she sat down beside him. She fallowed his gaze and stiffened when her eyes fell on Tenten. “What's so special about her?! Everyone pays attention to her! Why not me?!”

 

“…Because you haven't been gone for five years, you're not from my village and it's not your birthday, for starters.” Neji said, raising an eyebrow.

 

“So? Hey, how about you let me show you around the village?” Gaki asked, hugging him.

 

“No, get off of me.” As soon as he finished his sentence, Gaki's lips were pressed against his.

“You know, Gaki's terrified of bugs.” Tenten told Shino.

 

“Then she is an idiot.”

 

Tenten couldn't help but laugh. “You got that right!”

 

Tenten continued to watch Neji out of the corner of her eye. She knew that Shino was doing the same.

 

“You like him, don't you?” Shino asked. Tenten sighed and blushed.

 

“If I lie, you'll know, so, it's pointless. Yes, I like him. A lot. Happy?”

 

“Yes. Tenten, do not turn around.”

 

Curious, Tenten tried to turn around. Shino grabbed her shoulders. “I'm warning you, Tenten, DON'T TURN AROUND.” Ignoring him, she wiggled out of his grip and turned around. And almost felt her heart shatter. Right there, in the middle of the room, sat Neji and Gaki, kissing. Tenten felt tears well up in her eyes. “Tenten…” Shino started to say.

 

Tenten ran past Neji and Gaki and out the door. She heard Neji call after her.

Neji was caught off guard. It was like he was paralyzed. He couldn't get his arms to do what he wanted, which was to shove this spoiled brat away from him. Suddenly, Tenten ran passed them. This seamed to undo the paralysis. He shoved Gaki to the floor, stood up and glared at her before running for the door. “Tenten!!” He called, in hope of making her slow down. Instead, this made her run faster. He chased her into the woods.

Deedee worriedly looked at the door the two ran out of.

 

“Is there anything I can do to help them?” She asked no one in particular.

 

“Yes.” She turned to see Shino. “But, you'll have to make some sacrifices.” He said, taking some of her waist length hair in his fingers.

 

“Just tell me what to do.”

Tenten sighed. Deedee and Shino had said that they had something they wanted to show her. So, there she sat, feeling dumb, staring into an empty field.

Neji was still chasing Tenten. She had slowed down considerably and was now entering a field. She reached the other side just as he entered.

 

“Tenten!” This time, she stopped. Shino stepped out from the bushes be side her. Neji felt his jaw clench as Shino put his arm around Tenten's waist. He started shaking as Tenten and Shino kissed. He took a breath to keep he voice from shaking. “Tenten, I didn't kiss Gaki. She kissed me! I wasn't expecting it, so I couldn't push her away and… I'm… sorry…”

 

“You're too late, you know.” Shino said.

 

Neji glared at him for a second before saying “Fine. But if you hurt her, I will tie you up and force you to watch an eight-hour-Teletubbies-movie-marathon before I rip off your head.”

 

“Good God, you truly are heartless…” Shino said.

 

Neji's eyes widened as something in a near by bush laughed. Tenten stepped out of the bush. Neji looked back and forth between the Tenten from the bush and the Tenten beside Shino.

 

Bush Tenten pointed to Shino's Tenten and said “That's Deedee! She cut her hair and wore some of my clothes! She and Shino said they wanted to show me something. I understand and I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions, Neji.”

 

“It's all right.”

“Why were you so angry when Dee kissed Shino? I know you thought it was me, but still.” Tenten asked.

 

“Shino's a good guy. I… wasn't thinking clearly.” Neji said.

 

“Neji… Okay, Lee says I'm brave, so, here goes nothing. I like you. A lot.”

 

Neji blinked. “I like you too, Tenten.”

 

“No, I mean I… like like you.”

 

“…Oh! Oh. Umm…” Neji sighed. “Now or never…” he thought. “I… love you… Tenten.”

 

Tenten froze. But only for a second. Then, faster than Neji could blink, she jumped up, pulled him into a hug, and pressed her lips against his. “I love you to, Neji.”

Deedee and Shino sat curled up by a fire.

 

“Think they're making-out yet?” She asked.

 

“Possibly.”

 

“Hey… Why don't we pick up where we left off, hmm?”

 

Shino smiled and leaned in for a kiss. Deedee definitely liked the tux Lee had forced him into better than Shino's normal clothes.

 

“I think that…” Shino said.

The next day, Gaki was going to go for a walk. She opened the door and, to her surprise, was suddenly drenched in honey. She screamed and ran in a random direction. Suddenly, a wall of bugs appeared and Gaki ran through it. The bugs stuck to the honey and Gaki, screaming even louder, ran in another random direction. Suddenly, she felt arms around her waist and lips on hers. She opened her eyes to see Lee smiling down at her. She screamed the loudest yet and fell to the ground, unconscious.

 

Neji and Tenten watched this from a tree branch. Tenten laughed and even Neji had to smile as they heard Shino, who was on the next branch mumble “My dear bugs. You died for a worthy cause.”

 

“Come on, Shino! That wasn't even one-tenth of your bugs.” Tenten said.

 

Without saying anything, Shino ran off.

Tenten returned home from shopping to see the living room littered with suitcases.

 

“Mom, what's going on?” Tenten asked.

 

Ippin poked her head out of the kitchen.

 

“Tenten, dear, come in here for a minute.” Tenten walked into the kitchen to see everyone gathered at the table, except Neji, who leaned against the wall.

 

“You're mother wants to come back with us.” Neji said.

 

Tenten blinked “What? Why?”

 

“I don't want to go back to you're father, necessarily, but ever since we watched you and Neji training, Ichigo, Kuroichigo, Naru, the triplets and Ringo have been playing ninja's… I don't want them growing up thinking females can't fight. Besides, living in a village with out any ninjas has been boring. And, I think that Deedee's determined to go with a certain boy if she has to go duct taped to him.”

 

Tenten thought about this and nodded. “The twins are almost at the perfect age to begin learning the basics and I could catch Naru up with the rest of her class in a week or two. Dee, you don't need the duct tape.”

 

Deedee blinked and sheepishly put a roll of duct tape on the table.

 

“We'll have to leave before Yuki gets home. He'll try to stop us. Lee volunteered to stay with Gaki until Yuki returns.”

 

“I'm going to!” Gaki said. “I want to see this village. I'll just come home after that.

 

Tenten sighed. At least she wouldn't have to see Yuki again.

“I'm hot!!” Gaki yelled.

 

“We know.” Neji growled.

 

“Come on! We only had one more hour!!” Lee yelled.

 

Gaki moaned, Neji twitched and Tenten sighed. It was going to be a long hour.

“Yes!!” Gaki yelled as they passed the city gates.

 

“You're back!” They turned to see Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura coming towards them.

 

Gaki blinked twice. “Whoa.”

 

“Oh no. Not Sasuke.” Tenten thought.

 

Ino, Shika, Chouji, Kiba and Hinata walked up.

 

“Hi! I'm Gaki!!” She cried, latching herself onto Sasuke's arm.

 

Sasuke's eye twitched violently. “Get. Off. Me.”

 

“Okay!” In a flash, Gaki had latched herself onto Kiba instead.

 

“Waa!”

 

“That's okay!” Now she was on Naruto.

 

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

 

“Okay!” Shika was her next victim.

 

“Troublesome…”

 

“OFF!” Everyone stared at Ino, who was twitching almost as violently as Sasuke had. “You heard me. OFF!” When Gaki would not comply with her wishes, Ino began chasing her.

 

“I'm so not going back to Daddy!” Gaki screamed somewhere in the distance.

 

“I didn't think Shika'd be Gaki's type. Ino's either for that matter.” Tenten said.

 

“Dose he have a pulse?” Deedee asked, not a bit sarcastic.

 

“Yes.”

 

“Dose he walk on two legs?”

 

“Yes.”

 

“Is he in between the ages of ten and one hundred?”

 

“Yes.”

 

“He's Gaki's type.”

 

“Well, this'll make things more interesting. Not that we need any more oddities here.” Tenten said. “In between the demons, fangirls, explosions, and Gai and Lee, it's crazy enough as it is.”

 

Deedee stared. “You have to tell me more about this.”
