CHAPTER TWO!
Tourniquet
Kougasmate- okay, this chapter is rather long, so yeah. I'm dedicating it to DarkGothic, who inspired this last chapter with her review. I don't know why I couldn't write this much about Naruto dying, but a story about Sasuke killing himself came out so much better. This chapter is…slightly (or a lot) more graphic then the last.
A young man with bewitching features of surreal beauty sat looking at the moon, the same moon that shown down on him and his lover, as his lover slipped away, dying in his arms. The same moon he watched every night, its waning stages a reminder that his little kitsune was not coming back. Bringing his cup of sake up to his lips and taking a sip, he glared at the moon, cursing it to fall from the sky. It had been a month since Naruto had died, and that time had done little to ease the pain. In fact, to Sasuke, he could not remember a time when he hurt more. Even the death of his own family paled in comparison to losing his smiling, ramen loving, “Dobe…”
The word fell from his enticing lips like rain falls from a roof.
He grabbed the sake bottle he'd been drinking from, and brought it up above his head, with a few uttered curses.
Sakura, inside the house, new what was coming next. It happened every night when he watched the moon, had happened every night since Naruto left them for the peace of the after life.
CRASH
Sakura stood, grabbing the broom and mop, and walking towards the detached Uchiha. His eyes had always had a certain blankness to them, like the soul that once moved the body had left, leaving an empty shell driven to move on impulse, but since Naruto died, his eyes reflected a new kind of blank stare. Now, his eyes held a blankness usually reserved for the dead, a kind of still, dull shine that, once seen, could haunt a person forever. Sakura new she was marked, destined to forever see the morbid, almost ghostly eyes of the haunted man she had once loved.
Kneeling beside Sasuke, she grabbed his arm, careful to avoid the glass of the broken sake bottle. “Come on Sasuke…you should go to bed.”
There they were. Those empty, soulless eyes that Sakura hated to see on her friend.
Suddenly, Sakura found tears coming to her own eyes, and she pulled Sasuke into a hug, burying her face in his chest. Her small shoulders shook as Sasuke watched her with no emotion, no pity, no sadness at her grief. Just haunting eyes…
“S-Sasuke…” She whispered, calling desperately for him. She was trying, trying as hard as she could, to revive the last of her team mates to his former glory, his old attitude that seemed to be very talkative and caring compared to the cold being he had become.
But, just like everynight, he said nothing. Sakura doubted he even bothered to listen anymore. Without Naruto, he had shut down…
Sasuke, in his bedroom, looked towards the bed he had shared with his kitsune on many nights, and felt a pain where his heart used to be. “That's right…” He muttered, placing a pale, skinny hand over his chest, “there is no more heart…You took it when you left…”
Glancing to the side, Sasuke saw the picture he and Naruto had taken two days before his death.
In that picture, they both had life in their eyes, both thought they had a future together. Sasuke's eyes were so cold now, colder then they had ever been. One would wonder if Sasuke's cold stare could give Itachi the chills.
The last remaining Uchiha, the last one in Konoha that is, sat on the edge of the bed he refused to sleep in, least his own body scent should wash away that of Naruto. Glaring at the picture that seemed to mock him, he knocked it over, watching in rapt fascination as the glass surface broke into thousands of splinters, falling to the floor in a rain of glass. Picking of the largest piece, Sasuke turned it at all different angles, watching the light pour through it, casting rainbows on the face of his dobe.
Angry once more, at the unfair hand life had dealt him, and coming up with the theory that Itachi dealt his hands and was forever tormenting him, Sasuke closed his hand tightly around the glass, watching his blood drip onto the floor.
In a way, it felt good, to watch his crimson life leek out of his body like a bat out of hell. He smiled, the most twisted, devious smile one could ever have whilst thinking such morbid things. Pulling the glass from his bloodied palm, he dragged it down his arm, biting his lip, watching the blood run in rivers onto the floor. After a moment of slicing his flesh, he inspected his handy work.
Oh yes, Sasuke was one sick little teme indeed, for when he finished, the name of his love lay forever cut into his flesh.
Feeling unsatisfied at the pain, Sasuke began to carve `Uzumaki' into his other arm, although it was decidedly more sloppy, as he wasn't used to using that hand, specially not while it poured rivers of red onto the photo of him and Naruto.
I tried to kill the pain
but only brought more
I lay dying
and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
I'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
am I too lost to be saved
am I too lost?
but only brought more
I lay dying
and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
I'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
am I too lost to be saved
am I too lost?
Grinning madly, with no soul in his eyes, he applied pressure on his arm, watching his blood run out of the open skin, staining his bed unearthly crimson.
The door rattle as Sakura knocked, “Sasuke, are you in bed?” Sasuke, now deep into carving `dobe' into his leg, glared at the door. “No.”
He heard Sakura sigh, and rolled his eyes. Gods women were annoying. Hence the reason he now carved his male lovers name into his leg.
“May I come in?”
Sasuke sighed, “I suppose so,” and continued cutting. He realized that he felt dizzy, which was no surprise, considering the blood on the floor, bed, and all over himself.
He heard the door open, then a feminine scream. He looked up dizzily, eyes drooping, and released the blood covered shard of glass. The next thing he knew, he was at the hospital, arms strapped to a bed, with blood being pumped into him.
Tsunade came in, and he glared at her, “Why are you putting blood in me?”
“To save you.” She replied quietly, checking his vitals. “What if I don't want to be saved?” he shot back, sneering.
Tsunade shrugged, “You're still getting the transfusion, so get over it.”
“But I worked so hard to get it out…”

It almost pained Tsunade to see Sasuke this way. Over Sasuke's relation ship with Naruto, she'd grown to like him, trusting him entirely with Naruto. Of course, when she heard of Naruto's death, she was ready to blame the Uchiha. But one look at his face and all blame stopped in her throat, leaving her guilty of even thinking to blame the love struck sharingan user.
“Sasuke, I know you miss Naruto-“
“I don't want to hear it!”
“…But you can't die like this. He-“
“Shut up!”
By now, Sasuke was thrashing against the restraints, animalistic rage burning in his eyes.
Sakura sat wailing outside of Sasuke's room, leaning on Lee for support. “L-Lee… I-I don't know wh- what t-t-t-to do!” Lee put a comforting arm around Sakura. “It will be alright in the end Sakura, even if it does not seem like it is. Whatever happens is what was best for them.”
Sakura sniffled, “But I… He's my l-last t-team mate! I-I-I'll be all al-alone!”
Ino put a hand on Sakura's shoulder, gesturing to the whole Rookie 9, and Gai's team, “Hello? Billboard brow? You forget about us? We're your friends too ya know.”
The door in front of them opened, and Tsunade stepped out. Everyone turned to her, seeking her word that Sasuke would recover. All they got as an answer was watching as Tsunade handed Sakura Sasuke's headband, tears pooling in her eyes.
Sakura put a trembling hand to her mouth, shaking her head, “No… Why?”
Tsunade looked sadly at the room, and whispered, “He didn't want to be saved… Besides, I think a kitsune came and took him away.”
Everyone wondered what Tsunade meant, but no one asked, and thus, no one every knew. No one that is, except for Itachi.

Itachi watched from outside the window as his brother struggled to die, with a buxom blonde struggling to keep him alive. Rumor had told him of the death of the fox the akatsuki had so greatly pursued, and he had gone to see if it were true.
What greeted him upon slipping into the village was watching as his brother was carried, covered in blood, to the hospital.
He watched Sasuke thrash around, eyes unwavering. After a minute, however, he couldn't be sure if what he saw was true, or if his diminishing eyesight was playing tricks on him.
A tall, tanned man walked into the room, effectively slipping by Tsunade without being detected, and stood next to Sasuke.
Tsunade and Itachi both saw Sasuke stop thrashing, eyes wide as he muttered, “Dobe?”
“Hai, teme. I'm here.” He reached out and put his transparent hand over Sasuke's, “But didn't I tell you not to do anything stupid? This is pretty stupid teme.”
Sasuke smirked, “So were you, but I still did you.”
Tsunade twitched a little, watching Sasuke talk about his private life as though some one were there. Itachi blinked. He really felt he could have lived his whole life without hearing that.
Naruto turned red, “Just you wait teme! One day, one day, you'll get yours!”
Once more, Sasuke smirked, “I can't wait.” Suddenly, Naruto's eyes grew sad, and he looked at Sasuke with concern. “You're dying Sasuke-teme…”
Sasuke nodded, “Very observative, dobe…Is it bad?”
“What?” Naruto blinked. God Sasuke had missed those confused looks Naruto always got.
“Dying, is it bad?”
Naruto shook his head, kissing Sasuke's forhead, “Not nearly as bad as the separation.”
Sasuke nodded, closing his eyes, “Good…”
Tsunade watched in wonder as the monitor went blank, realizing to late that Sasuke had died.

Itachi's lips curved ever so slightly upwards, in the ghost of a smile. That was his little brother. Uchiha's were a stubborn bunch. Sasuke had wanted death, and Sasuke got death. Jumping from the tree he had hidden in, Itachi left Konoha, leaving behind the memory of his brother dying. And for once, as he watched a family member die, it wasn't his fault.

kougasmate- buh bye Sasuke-teme, it's been great writing about you killing yourself!
