Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ My Life as Hinata Hyuga ❯ Chapter 3
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Pale eyes opened slowly opened when the noise of someone yelling awakened her. "Hinata-sama! Hinata-sama! Your father asks for you to get ready for your training!"
"Training...?" Hinata mumbled sitting up, she rubbed her head. "Oh yes, with Neji-nii-san, father ordered this himself. I must get ready!" she thought. "Mayu-san... Mayu-san!"
Mayu: I'm still sleep! -yawn- You can go ahead and whoop Neji's butt! ...I can't believe you get up this early, Hinata!
"Well, I usually get up earlier for training with Kurenai-sensei," Hinata said getting up from her bed.
*****************************
"You two may begin at the first sign of light," Hiashi said, he was sitting there watching his daughter and nephew stare at each other.
Mayu: Hold up! That means we have to stare at each other for the next fifteen minutes!
"My father thinks this is training... a intimidating method," Hinata explained.
Mayu: So, Neji is supposed to be glaring at you?
"Yes."
Mayu: Never heard that before! I heard a battle cry intimidating your opponents, but glaring? So that's why Neji's always glaring at something or someone!
The sun was about to rise any minute now. Already Neji had gotten into his fighting stance and activated his Byakugan. Hinata did the same and silently prayed. "Please Mayu-san... Naruto-kun, give me enough strength to impress father," she thought. Sunlight hit the eyes of the two Hyuga clan members and then they charged at each other. But before they could collide, a cloud a smoke suddenly appeared between them making them stop. Hiashi stood up and watched as the smoke clear to reveal... Kakashi?
Mayu: Kakashi-sensei? What's he doing at the Hyuga estate?
"What are you doing here? Interrupting training sessions again?" Hiashi asked.
"Pardon the intrusion, Hiashi-sama, but I wish to speak with your daughter," Kakashi said.
"Hanabi...? She's not even a ninja. What could you possible want with her?" Hiashi asked.
"Um... I was talking about your eldest daughter, Hinata," Kakashi said looking at Hinata.
"Me...?" Hinata thought. "I'm not even apart of his team."
"We're in the middle of training," Hiashi stated.
"Please Hiashi-sama, it will only take a minute," Kakashi said, Hiashi sighed and looked at his first born.
"Very well...." he said. "Hinata, take him to an empty room so you can talk."
"H-Hai father!" Hinata said bowing, she then turned to Kakashi. "This way, Kakashi-san," she said and began walking away with the silver-haired jounin following her.
Mayu: Wonder what he wants...
----------------------------------------------------
"So , what do you want to talk to me about, Kakashi-san?" Hinata asked shyly.
"Well, I'm going to train one of my students, but you see my student wants to spar with a girl... Mayu, I think her name was," Kakashi explained
"W-What does t-that have to d-do w-with m-m-me, Kakashi-san?" Hinata asked trying to hide her nervousness.
"Oh, I think you know!" Kakashi said in a sing song voice and it looked like he was smiling underneath the mask.
Mayu: -sighs- Stupid bird brain...! Hinata let's switch, I'll handle this.
"Okay...." Hinata said closing her eyes.
The familiar rush of switching washed over the two. "So, he told you, huh?" Mayu asked sighing. "As soon as I see him...!" she finished in thought darkly.
"Yes, and he told me about Sakura, too!" Kakashi said; Mayu sighed again and narrowed her eyes.
"So, what do you want to know?" she asked.
"How many times have you posed as someone else?" Kakashi asked.
"Twice, but Hinata's still here with me... we can switch places with each other," Mayu explained. "With Sakura... well, I have no clue where she was when I was in her body."
"I see... Mayu, what is your last name?" Kakashi asked.
"Ishikari, Mayu... why do you ask, Kakashi-sensei?" Mayu asked.
"Ishikari? !" Kakashi thought. His eye widen at the information he'd just received. "Mayu... do you have a clan?" he asked once he'd gotten over that.
"Clan...? Oh, no! I'm not even a real ninja!" Mayu said laughing while rubbing the back of her head. "Nope! It's just little ol' me!"
"So, she doesn't know...." Kakashi thought staring at the girl in front of him. "That clan was wiped out a long time ago, could she be the only one that survived and just forgot about it?"
"So, what does Sasuke-who has a bigger mouth than Naruto-want?" Mayu asked. Kakashi chuckled before answering her.
"I already told you-er, Hinata that he wanted to spar with you," Kakashi answered.
"Why me?" Mayu asked folding her arms. "There are a lot of other people stronger than me."
"He said something about a promised fight," Kakashi answered.
"Oh that!" Mayu said remembering when she was in Sakura's body.
"Well, the way you say it... it's almost like you're invincible," Sasuke muttered.
"I wouldn't go that far," Mayu said grinning.
"You sound confident in your skills," Sasuke said.
"Cuz I am. B'duh!" she said.
"You wanna prove it," Sasuke said standing.
"Heck yeah!" Mayu responded also standing. "I've been wanting to fight you for a long time!"
Sasuke suddenly made a pained face and Mayu could feel pain her legs. They both fell to the floor at the exact same time. "I guess we're going to have to take a rain check on that one, huh?" Mayu asked.
"Yeah, when I get my strength back up," Sasuke said looking at Mayu.
"It's a deal," she said. "Now get out of my room, pervert!"
"WHAT?"
"Ahhh, good times!" Mayu said grinning like an idiot.
"Hm...." Kakashi said.
"Um... nothing!" Mayu said. "So are we leaving now?"
"I have to speak with Hinata's father, so yeah," Kakashi began to leave; Mayu followed after him.
"Great! I don't feel like fighting Neji -who has a stick so far up his butt- so early in the morning!" Mayu thought.
Hinata: You're so mean, Mayu-san...
"No, no! I'm not being mean!" Mayu protested. "I'm being truthful!"
Hinata:-shakes head-
--------------------------------------------------
< /b> "A mission?" Hiashi questioned.
"Well yeah...." Kakashi started. "It's sorta of last minute mission before the Chunin Exams start back up."
"I see...." Hiashi said gazing at who he thought was Hinata. "Very well... Neji, it seems you will not be training with Hinata." Neji bowed and then turned to Mayu.
"It seems we won't have the pleasure of fighting, Hinata-sama," he said sarcastically.
"Didn't he just say that? Man, you're stupid!" Mayu said shaking her head. Neji glared and then just walked away, he couldn't do anything, anyway.
"Hinata, when ever you're ready," Kakashi said. Mayu nodded her head and stood close to Kakashi.
"How long is this mission?" Hiashi asked.
"Don't worry, your daughter will be returning here almost every day," Kakashi and then performed a couple of hand signs.
"Bye!" Mayu waved and just like that the two were gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Boy that was fast!" Mayu exclaimed. The two appeared to be on a rocky cliff. "How come you're always so late?"
"That's my business," Kakashi answered.
"Whatever...." Mayu muttered.
"Mayu, you're here! Or are you Hinata?" a voice made the girl turn, she saw Sasuke sitting while wrapping bandages around his arms.
"Sasuke!" Mayu sounded excited as she walked towards him; Sasuke stood as she got closer.
"Ma--" he started, but she interrupted him.
"Turn around!" Mayu instructed.
"What? Why?" Sasuke asked.
"Just do it!" Mayu replied cheerfully. And like the fool he was, Sasuke turned around. "Hidden Leaf Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique!" she pointed the hand sign for tiger into Sasuke's butt! "A thousand years of pain!!"
Um... let's just say Sasuke wasn't to happy as he crashed landing on to the ground. "Mayu! I'm going to kill you!" Sasuke yelled standing. Mayu had started laughing insanely.
"I-It -hahaha- c-can't breathe!" she managed to say before falling to the ground in a fit of laughter. Sasuke's eye twitched, oh yeah... he was mad! Mayu finally stopped laughing and glared at Sasuke. "Didn't I tell you not to tell anyone! And what's the first thing bird brain goes and does? Tells someone!"
"It just came out!" Sasuke protested.
"Oh right! Like I'm supposed to believe that! How did the conversation go, Sasuke?" Mayu asked. "'Sasuke, on going to train you for the Chunin Exams!'" she said trying to sound like Kakashi. "'Okay! And by the way sensei, there's a girl named Mayu inside Hinata! And guess what? She was in Sakura's body when we were on that mission with Zabuza!'" this time she tried sounding like Sasuke. Her face went back to a glare. "I can't believe you told my business like that!"
"But...." Sasuke knew he couldn't say anything because half of what she said was kinda true....
Kakashi watched all of this with amusement. "It's funny...." he thought. "It's like the two are oil and water and yet... they mix so well."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah bird brain!" Mayu said crossing her arms. "Just admit you did something stupid!" Sasuke grumbled something that Mayu couldn't hear. "I'm not gonna even ask what you just said."
Mayu suddenly walked up to Sasuke making the young Sharingan user back up slightly. "What now?" he asked. Mayu pulled at his shirt revealing his neck and shoulder, she saw three markings.
"As I thought, Orochimaru still got him," Mayu thought biting her bottom lip, she let go of Sasuke's shirt. "Sasuke will eventually leave the village in search of that bastard!"
"Mayu? What's wrong with you?" Sasuke asked. "You're glaring at me."
"When am I not?" Mayu said with a fake smile. "Maybe I could... convince him to stay and... those certain events won't ever happen."
"Okay, you two!" Kakashi said making the two turn to him. "I have to pick something up before we start Sasuke's training! So, until then you guys can do whatever! Bye!" Before either of them could say 'huh?' Kakashi was gone.
"He probably went to get some more of those books...!" Mayu thought. "I hope he brings something to eat! I didn't get breakfast!"
"Well, this could take awhile," Sasuke muttered sitting down.
"Yeah, he's always late! I'd be surprised he only took a hour!" Mayu said also sitting down right in front of Sasuke.
"Why are you staring?" Sasuke asked blinking.
"Let's play a game!" Mayu exclaimed; Sasuke sighed.
"Let's not," he said and he began to wrap his legs with bandages.
"Ahhh! What's wrong Sasuke? Are you down besides you can't fight yet?" Mayu asked.
"Wha--" but before he could finish, Mayu tackled him and pinned his arms to the ground; Sasuke's eyes blinked rapidly and then went wide. "Wh-What are you doing?"
"I know why you're down!" Mayu said in a sing song voice not realizing that Sasuke's face was slightly going red. "It's because a girl, namely me, can over power you! Am I right?"
"No!" Sasuke said through clenched teeth. "Get off of me, Mayu!" He rolled over so that Mayu was now at his side. "Don't do that again!"
"Do what?" Mayu asked, her voice sounded innocent. Sasuke looked away and mumbled a never mind. Mayu stood up and grinned. "I know something that will make you feel better!"
"Thanks, but I'm--" he didn't finish because he realized that Mayu wasn't even there. "Where did she go now?" Sasuke thought looking around, he stood but still didn't see her.
"Sasuke, behind you!" Mayu's voice made him turn.
"Mayu whe...." the rest of his sentence died in his throat because he saw what Mayu was wearing a banana suit, she started dancing like a moron.
"IT'S PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY TIME!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY TIME!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY TIME!
Where he at?
Where he at?
Where he at?
Where he at?
Oh, there he go!
There he go!
There he go!
There he go!"
"What in the hell are you taking?" Sasuke asked, his eye was twitching. "Mayu! Stop that!" Mayu did stop... for a moment...!
"PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY WITH A BASEBALL BAT!
PEANUTBUTTER, JELLY!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY!
PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY WITH A BASEBALL BAT!"
"SHUT UP!" Sasuke yelled whacking Mayu over the head.
"Itai! Sasuke, that hurts!" Mayu whined rubbing her head.
"I'm not even going to ask you where you got that suit! But where is Hinata?" Sasuke asked.
"I'm here!" Hinata said waving, she was climbing over the cliff.
"So how did you like it?" Mayu asked cheerfully taking off the banana suit.
"I hated it! Don't you ever do that again!" Sasuke yelled with his teeth bared.
"B-But I only wanted t-to--" Mayu said faking that she was hurt. Sasuke stopped glaring because he believed her act.
"Mayu... sto--"
"You don't want me, then don't talk to me!" Mayu interrupted and then she disappeared in a puff of smoke similar to what Naruto's clones do.
"Sasuke-san, I think Mayu-san is mad now," Hinata said.
Mayu: That's the last time I try to cheer HIM up!
"Well, she better get over it! We still have to spar," Sasuke said. "Damn it!" he thought. "I hope she's not that mad over something as stupid as that."
"What! Was! That! Bird! Brain!" Mayu practically screeched. "Let's get this straight! I came here willingly! So, we don't have to spar! Ya got that?"
"Mayu, Sasuke!" Kakashi voice got their attention. "We're moving to a different location now that you two are sparing. I can't have Hinata going home with rocks and rumble on her. Let's go."
"Where's breakfast?" Mayu asked completely forgetting that she was mad, not that Sasuke minded.
----------------------------------------------
"Okay, Sasuke, Mayu... listen carefully, this is Sasuke's first training exercise," Kakashi said. Mayu raised her had to get Kakashi attention. "Yes, Mayu?"
"Since Sasuke's the only one that's really training... am I his sensei for now?" she asked.
"I never thought of it that way but... yes," Kakashi said making Mayu grin evilly at Sasuke.
"Why couldn't he just say no...?" Sasuke thought sighing.
"Now as I was saying-- yes, Mayu?" Kakashi seeing her hand in the air again.
"I know who's going to be in the finals! So I'll start explaining," Mayu said standing. "Now listen up, bird brain! The strongest people are Gaara, Neji, Naruto, and Temari."
"Why her?" Sasuke asked.
"You weren't there so you don't know about her attacks," Mayu said. "Her attacks can also act as her defense, but I'll explain more about her later. Now, we have to focus on Gaara. He's the strongest out of the four, though I think you won't stand a chance against the second greatest ninja of all time!" Mayu clasped her hands together as she went into a day dream mode. "Panda-Chan! How I admire him!"
"Why?" Sasuke asked. "And who do you think is the first?"
"I um... don't really know!" Mayu putting her finger to her chin. "But the greatest ninja is... hardcore! Rock Lee's the man!"
"WHAA!?" Sasuke yelled. "Why him?"
"Yes Mayu, I am also curious to know why you think Lee is the greatest ninja," Kakashi said. "You do know that he can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu... and unfortunately he can no longer fight."
Mayu smiled a little before turning to Kakashi. "That's where you're wrong, Lee has the will power to go on... Lee will once again live as a ninja, perhaps not today, but in time... I believe my male idol will continue to inspire me," Mayu said. "As for why, I was just like him."
"Huh?" was Sasuke's highly intelligent response.
"Back where I come from, I can't you use anything except... taijutsu," Mayu explained. "There were times where I thought I couldn't do things that others could. They told me I was way to small... but then I just thought of him and all the things he had accomplished, I felt stronger... more stronger than ever before. Sure, he has those two major flaws, but I still admire him so much.... But enough about me! Let's get this training started!"
"I guess she really doesn't remember," Kakashi thought.
"Okay, the thing we need to improve most is your speed," Mayu said turning back to Sasuke.
"What's wrong with my speed?" Sasuke asked.
"It's not good enough against Neji or Gaara," Mayu said. "You have to be faster than Gaara's sand and Neji's hands or you'll most definitly lose!"
"You don't believe in my abilities at all, do you?" Sasuke said.
"But she's right Sasuke," Kakashi said before Mayu could retort something. "As of now, your speed is not enough."
"Thank you for agreeing, Kakashi-san!" Mayu said. Sasuke almost pouted, but decided against it. "So here's the exercise! Kakashi-san will act as Gaara. Your mission: Touch Kakashi-san, anywhere is fine; hand, arm, leg, hair."
"That's easy! Think of something else," Sasuke said.
"It's not so easy when you have to get through me," Mayu said, Sasuke's eyes widen slightly. "I will be acting as Gaara's defense and attack, so you better keep up!"
"Teh, bring it on!" Sasuke said taking out a kunai knife.
“Right! Make me proud my poor, poor student!” Mayu said shaking her head.
“It's like she doesn't think I can do anything!” Sasuke thought about ready to attack. “I'll show her what I can do...! Though, why do I care what she thinks?”
