"If you don't care, than I don't care! We're not going anywhere..." -Avril Lavigne

The eyes of Ishikari Mayu opened, only to close them again because they were met with a bright light. "Morning already?" she thought slowly opening her eyes, allowing them to adjust to the rays of the morning sun. She slowly sat up, and then looked at her surroundings through squinted eyes. "Hospital..." Mayu muttered. There was no one in the room, just her, a bed, and... medical equipment. "Am I...?" she thought. Mayu hurriedly got out of the hospital bed, and then made her way over to the window.

She anxiously drew back the baby blue curtains; her eyes widen at what she saw. "T-Tokyo... Japan," Mayu whispered taking in the sights and sounds of her home. Tears were starting to well up in her eyes. "I made it back..." she muttered looking down at herself. Her skin was back to its normal light color, she looked at her reflection in the window to see her eyes were back to their normal blue.

"Morning, Mayu..." a voice said; Mayu turned around to see the door halfway open. An African-American female stepped into the room; Mayu's eyes widen, causing a tear to slip out.

The woman closed the door behind her, not even bothering to look at the bed. "Wake up soon, Mayu..." she whispered, turning around as she said this.

"Momma...!" Mayu finally choked out.

"M-Mayu... you're awake!" Mrs. Ishikari exclaimed; tears started flowing down Mayu's face. She ran over to her mother and hugged her tightly. "M-Mayu...!"

"M-Momma, I was so--I-I felt so alone there!" Mayu cried. "It was awful! I never want to go back to that place!"

"My poor baby," Mrs. Ishikari mumbled, she was also tearing up. "I'll never let that place take you again."

"... Momma..." Mayu muttered. "I... I never want to be reminded of him..."she thought.

"Okay, Uchiha Sasuke... let's try this again," Tsunade said calmly; Sasuke resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Is there a reason that you returned to Konoha?" Sasuke sighed at her question, she had been asking him the same question for about an hour. The two were in an interrogation room; Sasuke was currently tied to a chair. He could have gotten out of the ropes, but decided against it. Tsunade already didn't trust him at all, especially since he had showed up at her favorite young kunoichi's house. Sasuke sighed again at the mere memory of his arrival back in Konoha.

"And I wanted to do was talk to Mayu..." he thought frowning.

Sasuke jumped off the wall, and then began walking towards Hinata and Neji. Hinata bared her teeth at Sasuke, she was clearly not happy to see him. Assuming that it was Mayu glaring and not Hinata, Sasuke let out a small chuckle. This caused Neji to get in front of his cousin, he had believed that Sasuke was a threat. Neji almost didn't see Hinata go charging past him, at the last second though, he grabbed the back of her shirt. "Calm down," Sasuke had said, still thinking it was Mayu. "I'm back earlier than--"

"You bastard!" Hinata screeched trying to get away from Neji.

"Calm down," Neji told his cousin.

"Yeah, I only wanted to--" Sasuke had began to speak, but Neji wasn't done talking.

"Intruder... INTRUDER!" he shouted. Suddenly, ten Hyuga members appeared behind Neji and Hinata, including Hiashi.

"Uchiha Sasuke...!" Hiashi glared with his byakugan activated; the other members also had their advanced bloodline activated. "Five of you, protect Hinata. Everyone else... capture him with force if necessary!"

Of course, word had got out about Sasuke's betrayal, and so Hiashi could actually attack him if he wanted. "Oh crap..." Sasuke thought when he saw five members, including Hiashi come out him of nowhere. He quickly jumped up and over the wall, and then started running. Sasuke knew he was stronger since last time he was in Konoha, but not strong enough to take on five Hyugas! "Is Mayu this mad at me?" he thought looking back at the clan that was chasing him. He had forgotten that it was Neji who had called out. And then the tree came...

Sasuke frowned again thinking of what happened just a few hours ago; this memory explained why his nose was bleeding when the Hiashi brought him in. "I can not believe I ran into that tree," he thought sighing. "But then again... I can't believe the entire Hyuga clan was laughing at me for it. Oh well, the Uchiha clan and the Hyuga clan never really got along anyway..."

"UCHIHA SASUKE! ARE YOU LISTENING?!" Tsunade's angry voice snapped Sasuke right out of his thoughts.

Not really...

Sasuke wanted to say, but decided against it. There was no need to get the Fifth Hokage any angrier than she was already. "Listen, Hokage-sama..." Sasuke said, trying to be polite. "All I ask is to speak with Hyuga Hinata."

"There is no way I'll allow you to speak with Hinata-chan!" Tsunade said. "And what's with you, huh? You can't make demands!"

"It wasn't a demand!" Sasuke said, he was already getting frustrated with this busty woman. "Do you know how hard it was to get away from Orochimaru?!"

"I don't care how hard it was! Just tell me why came back," Tsunade said. "Did he set you up to this? Does he have some sorta attack planned?!"

"I don't know and I don't care," Sasuke said.

Tsunade wanted to rip out this brat's hair in frustration! Who did he think he was, anyway?! "I'm allowed to hurt him, right?" she thought glaring at the Uchiha. "I am the Hokage."

"Hokage-sama, I'll tell you anything you wish to know... just let me speak with Hinata..." Sasuke said. "... please." Tsunade closed her eyes deep in thought.

"Why are you so interested in talking to Hinata-chan?" Tsunade asked after a few moments of silence.

"I'm not talking until I get to see Hinata," Sasuke said, and then closed his eyes. Tsunade's eyebrow twitched, she was seconds away from wailing on the kid.

"Who does this cocky brat think he is?!" she thought, and then she calmed down and sighed. "But I really need those answers..."

"Well, Hokage-sama... I'm getting sleepy, and when I get sleepy... I tend to forget things," Sasuke lied; Tsunade's eye twitched.

"Why the heck were we chasing this kid again?" she thought. "Fine... I'll allow you to speak with her," Tsunade said aloud; she went over to the door, and then walked out. "Back in a sec..."

A small smirk appeared on Sasuke's face. "How many months has it been since we last spoke?" he thought looking up at the ceiling; the clock on the wall made an annoying ticking sound, but Sasuke ignored it. "She's probably stronger, too. She's most likely pissed at me for being gone... and now I choose to show up." sighed heavily. "She's gonna hit me very hard, isn't she?" Suddenly, the door slammed up, causing Sasuke's head to snap in that direction. "Ow..." he muttered.

Tsunade and Hinata came walking into the room. Hinata glared at Sasuke, she had calmed down somewhat, but the anger was still there. "How dare he come back now!" she thought.

"That must be her since she's glaring," Sasuke thought. "Yeah, she's mad..."

"Go ahead, Uchiha Sasuke, talk..." Tsunade said. Sasuke only narrowed his eyes at the Hokage, which caused her eyebrow to twitch again. "What's the problem?" she asked through clenched teeth.

She had brought Hyuga Hinata here like he said. What more could he want?! "Can I speak to her alone?" Sasuke asked. "Duh..." he thought.

"Absolutely not!" Tsunade exclaimed. "You're lucky that I even brought her here!"

"Hokage-sama..." Hinata said, drawing the attention of the two others. "It's quite alright. Please allow me to speak with Sasuke alone."

Hinata had said this in such a sweet and gentle tone that Tsunade nodded unconsciously. "That must be Mayu. Hinata always says my name with a 'san' at the end," Sasuke thought. Little did he know, Hinata had lost respect for him a long time ago.

"Alright... if you say so," Tsunade replied reluctantly; she walked over to the door, and then she glanced back at the two. "I may not be able to hear your conversation... but I will be watching." After making her statement known, Tsunade quickly left the room, closing the door behind her. She didn't want to miss anything that happened between Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuga Hinata.

The room became completely silent after the departure of the Fifth Hokage. Hinata stared at Sasuke as if he were a giant needle, and Hinata hated needles. Sasuke, on the other hand, stared at Hinata as if she was the love of his life, which freaked Hinata out. But Sasuke's kinda dumb, so we're going to let that slide. "Well, Sasuke, I was just in the middle of training. Are you going to talk?" Hinata asked.

"I see that you are mad at me," Sasuke said.

"Yes, that is correct," Hinata agreed with a fake smile.

"Yeah, I messed up..." Sasuke said. "Everything you said was true. I started regretting the moment I realized that I wouldn't be seeing you for a long time. I really missed you, Mayu, so I came back for you." Hinata didn't say a word, she was about to hit Sasuke in the face. Sasuke finally got annoyed at her silence, so he broke through the ropes... some how. He stood up and walked over to Hinata, who backed up. "I still want... to marry you." Hinata's eyes widen; Mayu hadn't told her that Sasuke wanted to marry her!

"Sasuke, it's too late," Hinata said; Sasuke must've not heard this statement, because he grabbed Hinata's arms and pulled her close.

"So come out, so I can kiss you again. I don't really what to kiss Naruto's girl," he said. Hinata blushed at his statement. Mayu and Sasuke had kissed before?!?!

"WTF?!?!" a screamed was heard.

"Come on, Mayu. Hurry up before that woman comes back!" Sasuke urged. Hinata finally had had enough.

She pushed Sasuke away, and then punched him in the face! Yes, that's right, Hyuga Hinata punched Uchiha Sasuke in the face. "You have the wrong girl," she said frowning.

"I know you're mad at me, but that was--Hey, what's wrong, Mayu?" Sasuke asked. He had asked this because Hinata had started crying; she wiped some of those tears away.

"You're wrong... Mayu-san is no longer here," Hinata said; Sasuke's eyes widen at Hinata's words.

"N-No longer... here?" he asked standing, the punch he just received forgotten. "You... you can't be serious."

"Yes... Mayu-san disappeared two days--only two days after the mission to bring you back," Hinata said. "She cried the entire time. Mayu-san was with Kakashi-san when she just... disappeared."

"N-No... what?! NO!" Sasuke shouted, getting angry. "She's still--Mayu's not...! Heh heh--she's not... FUCK!" He started laughing, it was the only thing that was keeping him from freaking out. "You're lying! I came back for her, and you're saying she's not even here? You're lying, Hinata!"

"I wish... I was..." Hinata responded. "Mayu-san's not here. She hasn't been here for five months."

"No... shit! N-NO!" Sasuke yelled; he grabbed the chair and threw it at Hinata. He wasn't trying to hurt her, though. The chair smashed into pieces right beside Hinata. "You're lying!"

"No, Mayu-san's gone... I'm sorry," Hinata said.

"NO!" Sasuke yelled out; Hinata's eyes widen in surprise and just a little bit of fear.

"Blood lust...!" she thought.

Before Sasuke could do anything, however, an arm came out of nowhere and out Sasuke in a choke hold. "Argh! Let go of me!" Sasuke yelled struggling to get out of the Fifth's hold.

"Are you alright, Hinata-chan?" Tsunade asked, successfully containing Sasuke; Hinata nodded slowly. "What happened?"

"Sasuke-san is really upset," Hinata answered. Her respect for Sasuke had just been found. He still loved Mayu, and he even came back for her.

And now he's angry that she's not here. Sasuke is suffering right now. "Let me go! I have to find her!" he yelled. Tsunade sighed, and then slammed Sasuke on the ground; Hinata gasped at her actions. Tsunade had her hand around Sasuke neck, she glared down at the boy.

"You're not going anyway, kid. Not till you answer a few questions," she said. "We tried to do this your way, but you screwed that up. So now... we do this my way!"

Sasuke wasn't listening; he started shaking. "S-She's gone... She's really gone," he thought looking at the ceiling; Tsunade was saying something to him, but he ignored her. "Gone... After all that happened... she's gone." Sasuke imagined Mayu's face on the ceiling, she was smiling down at him. "Mayu..." he thought; suddenly, her face changed. She was now crying, and it torn at Sasuke's insides to see it.

"U-Uchiha Sasuke, what's the matter...?" Tsunade asked.

Tears flowed out of his eyes and on to the floor. "He's crying..." Hinata thought in shock, and for some reason... she felt guilty.

"What the hell is wrong with this kid?" Tsunade thought.

"I-It wasn't supposed to be this way," Sasuke muttered; Tsunade blinked in confusion. "She was supposed to be here... Mayu, you were supposed to wait for me!"

"Who is this Mayu person?" Tsunade thought narrowing her eyes. "Hinata, go and get me this boy's sensei! He shouldn't be on any missions today." Hinata nodded, and then left the room.

"Mayu... not you..." Sasuke thought closing his eyes. "Not you."
*************************

Ishikari Mayu opened her front door and was instantly greeted by her dad. "Mayu-chan! You're finally home!" Mr. Ishikari exclaimed. "So how did it go?" he asked his thirteen-year-old daughter. Mayu closed the door and took off her shoes, before stepping in the house; she hid her eyes behind her bangs. "Oh, don't tell me--That's okay! You're get it next time I'm sure!"

"Ano... there won't be a next time," Mayu muttered covering her face with her hands, this action caused Ishikari Chinoutori to smile nervously.

"B-But you worked so hard!" he said.

Mayu shook her head. "There won't be a next time because... I'VE GOT IT!" she shouted; Mayu showed off her new black belt to her father.

"Kyaa! I'm sooo proud!" Chinoutori exclaimed clasping his hands together in glee. He picked up Mayu and swung her around a couple of times. There was a small smile on Mayu's face as her father set her back down. "And guess what?"

"What is it?" Mayu asked curiously; she took off her old green belt, and then let her hair out of its ponytail.

"Lookie, lookie!" Chinoutori said holding up a paper. Mayu took the paper from her hands. Her eyes scanned over the text, they widen slightly.

"This is..." Mayu began.

"Yes..." Chinoutori said, there was a slight frown on his face. "It's all been arranged. Next school year... first year of high school... you will be in an America high school." The smile on Mayu's face grew.

"This is perfect!" she exclaimed. "Finally--Oh, where's momma?"

"Oh, you know her. Always the workaholic!" Chinoutori said crossing his arms. "Honestly, I don't know why I married that woman!"

"Oh really..." a voice made Chinoutori cringe. "Tell me then, dear, why did you marry me?"

"Ooh, ooh, ooh! Daddy's in trouble now!" Mayu said chuckling. "Look, Momz, I got my black belt today!"

"Aaah, wonderful!" Ishikari Sheena said hugging her daughter. "And you're only thirteen, too!" she released Mayu. "Ya know, I was only two years older than you when I got my black belt!"

"Yeah, she kicked my as--I mean butt soon after!" Chinoutori said frowning. Mother and daughter both grinned at father. "You know with you off going to America, I'm not going to have anyone to protect me from the wrath of your mother." Sheena's eye twitched at her husband's statement.

"And what the hell does that mean?!" she asked in a calm voice.

"Uh..." was his response.

"Bye, Daddy!" Mayu said chuckling, she then ran off, leaving her father to suffer the fate of her somewhat evil mother. When she was up in her room with the door closed, Mayu read over the text of the paper again. She sighed happily at what she read. "Finally... just one more year, and then I won't be reminded of that place," Mayu thought; she closed her eyes and sat down on the floor. She started breathing heavily. "No... I can't think about him! I can't think about that place!" Once she was out of Japan, Mayu felt that she could forget everything about that... life.

"Once in America... I can start a new life," she thought frowning. She brought her knees up to her chin, a single tear slipped from her eye. Mayu rocked back and forth in the fetal position. "Forget everything... everything!" In the past few months, Mayu hadn't been very social with anyone besides her parents. Her friends had stopped calling, had stopped asking for her. Even in school, they had stopped talking to her.

That was just fine for Mayu at this moment in time. She had been cold and distant, leading her friends--well, her ex-friends to believe that she had gone emo. Mayu chuckled bitterly. "Emo... if only it had been that easy," she thought. Mayu stood up and walked over to her closet. She opened it slowly, and then got on her knees. Mayu pushed a couple of shoes out of the way, revealing a small vent.

The air vent had never worked before, so Mayu had used this vent to store secret items in. She pulled up the grate, and then set it aside. Mayu sighed lightly before putting her hand in the vent, she pulled out a small heart-shaped picture frame. "I should have gotten rid of this a long time ago,"Mayu thought. It was the picture of her and Sasuke. Somehow it had gotten transported to this world with Mayu. "I really should burn this..." she muttered. But she couldn't... even if she wanted to. And so... Mayu keeps the small picture in her secret place.
*********************

"Where the hell have you been?!" Naruto's shout could been heard all throughout the hospital. Uchiha Sasuke was right outside the door when he heard it.

"Naruto... being loud as usual," he thought shaking his head. Sasuke was about to open the door, but another familiar voice stopped him.

"Well, how to say it..." Jiraiya started. "I guess I was gathering information."

"You were probably 'gathering information' on naked ladies!" Naruto retorted.

"You idiot!" Jiraiya yelled.

On the outside, Sasuke sighed heavily. "Do I really want to do this?" he thought. "I'll probably kill myself with those two idiots around constantly..."

"Even I have certain things I must do," Jiraiya continued; Sasuke pressed his ear against the door. "I was hunting for information on Akatsuki."

"Akatsuki...?" Sasuke thought. "I've heard that somewhere before."

"I was able to find out the motive behind their actions," Jiraiya stated. "It's getting close. I'm going to really polish you up before those guys come after you in two years, like they promised they would. ... Are you ready for it?"

"It's now or never..." Sasuke thought, he opened the door and walked in. Inside, he saw rows of beds lining up. Sasuke passed an injured Gaara on the way to Naruto's bed; Jiraiya and Naruto looked at Sasuke in surprise.

"Sasuke...! I thought you were really hurt," Naruto exclaimed pointing at the Uchiha.

"I'm fine..." he muttered, and then focused his attention on Jiraiya; Sasuke intense gaze startled Jiraiya, but he tried not to show it.

"What is it?" he asked; Sasuke opened his mouth to speak, but then glanced at his friend/rival.
"What's wrong, Sasuke?" Naruto asked. Sasuke took a deep breath to calm his nerves, and turned back to Jiraiya.

"I... I want to become your student!" he said. Jiraiya and Naruto's eyes widen at Sasuke request.

"WHAT?!" they both exclaimed.

"I want to become your student," Sasuke repeated. "I know a lot of people don't trust me for what I did all those months ago, but... I still need to get stronger. Please... let me come with you and Naruto."

"Uh... this is... kinda sudden," Jiraiya said. "Uchiha Sasuke as my student...?" he thought rubbing his chin. "That would be awkward... not to mention hard, having two students that is..."

"Sir," Sasuke said getting Jiraiya's attention again. "It would benefit all three of us if I were to go."

"Oh... how so?" Jiraiya asked curious.

"Well for starters, I can only get stronger training under you, Naruto would get twice as strong if I was there to spar with him, and..." Sasuke reluctantly continued. "And I can keep Naruto outta your hair while you gather information."

"Gather information...?" Jiraiya repeated; Sasuke nodded slowly.

"For your... books," he said; Jiraiya's eyes widen, and then he grinned.

"You've got yourself a deal, kid!" he exclaimed giving a thumbs up and a wink.

"He can't be serious..." Naruto thought staring at his teacher; he then realized something. "Wait a minute...!" he said causing the two to look his way. "If you become ero-sennin's student then... that makes me your senpai!"

"I knew there would be more than one downside to going," Sasuke thought sighing.

Jiraiya shook his head as he saw Sasuke opening his mouth to retort. "Don't count on it!" he said. "I refuse to call you anything other than dope!" But it was too late, Naruto had it in his mind that Sasuke was his little brother.

"I'm really looking forward to it!" Naruto exclaimed clapping his hands together. "I'm going to make you do all work!" he grinned at Sasuke, causing the boy to frown, and then glare.

"There is no way I'll do anything for you!" he said.
*********************

"What are you doing?!" Jiraiya called to Naruto, who had stopped and stared at the Hokage statues. "We're going to leave you behind, Naruto!"

"Yeah, hurry it up, dope!" Sasuke called; Jiraiya and Sasuke began walking away.

"W-W-W-Wait up!" Naruto said, and then started chasing after them. "And call me Naruto-senpai, Sasuke!"

"I won't!" Sasuke responded, not even turning around. "Just hurry up!"

"W-Wait, Naruto-kun!" a voice stopped him; Naruto stopped and turned to see Hinata panting lightly behind him.

"Hinata-chan!" he exclaimed going over to the girl. "Did you come to see me off? Or is this about the date last night? I told you I couldn't cook..."

"No, no..." Hinata said smiling lightly. "I came to tell you goodbye. Goodbye, Naruto-kun!" Naruto grinned, and then smiled.

"Thanks Hinata-chan!" he said, and then hugged her, causing the girl in his arms to squeal in glee.

"Oh, Naruto-kun..." Hinata said as her boyfriend let go of her.

"Well, see ya in two years!" Naruto said, and then he began to walk away.

"Come on... come on!" Hinata thought watching Naruto's retreating form; she closed her eyes. "You can do it! ... No I can't... Yes, I can! What would Mayu-san do?" Hinata quickly rushed to Naruto and turned him around so that he was facing her. She then boldly pressed her lips on his. Naruto's eyes widen at the girl's actions, and then he smiled and wrapped his arms around Hinata's small body.

"I'm going to work hard so that I can keep up with you, Naruto-kun!" Hinata whispered breaking contact with Naruto's lips; she blushed heavily and pushed away from him. "Do your best! I'll wait for you!" Hinata dashed down the street after saying this. "O-Oh... MY FIRST KISS! And it was with Naruto-kun!" she thought with a big smile; she laughed happily.

Inner Hinata: YES! IN YOUR FACE, SAKURA!

Meanwhile, Naruto had this goofy grin on his face. "Y-You do that!" he whispered.

Naruto touched his lips, and then grinned. "My first kiss with Hinata-chan..." he thought.

"What's the matter with you?" Sasuke had come to a stop beside Naruto. "Why are you looking down the street? Hello, Naruto, I'm talking to you!"

"Would you two hurry up!" Jiraiya's voice called. "I'll leave both of you behind!" Sasuke sighed, and then grabbed the back of Naruto jumpsuit and dragged him away.

"Bye, Hinata-chan!" Naruto whispered.

"Why is Naruto always the lucky one?" Sasuke thought glancing back at his friend and rival. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a heart-shaped item, and then he sighed. "Mayu..." Sasuke muttered looking at the picture. He clutched the small frame in his hand. "I will get strong the right way for you! And I know we'll meet again..."
****************************

"And why do I have to do this?!" Mayu said groaning in pain as she got back on the ground.

"Because little Mayu, you came here all wimpy!" a woman said. "And when you leave you will be stronger!"

"But I already have a black belt, Granny!" Mayu complained, and then began do push ups.

"That doesn't matter here in America!" Mayu's grandmother exclaimed pointing a cane in the air, this caused Mayu to roll her eyes. "And I look young enough to be your mother!"

"That is so not true!" she muttered.

"What was that?! Do you want to do a hundred push-ups?!" Granny asked. "Cuz I can make it happen!"

"No, Grann--" Mayu began, but stopped when she saw the look her grandmother was giving her. "No, Theresa-san..."

"That's more like it!" Theresa said. Mayu sighed, continuing to push up from the ground.

"And here I was thinking I had a nice granny!" she thought frowning. Coming to America, Mayu thought that things were going to be easier. She would be living with her mother's mother. She thought that everything would be nice and quiet. That was not the case. As soon as Mayu had walked into the door, Granny Theresa put her to work! Not just chores either!

Unfortunately, her mother, Sheena, didn't tell her that Granny Theresa was also trained in Martial Arts. It seemed as if she was fighting her grandmother every friggin' day! And it had only been two months! How much longer would she have to endure this?! "Hurry it up, will ya!" Theresa said. "After this... we spar for two hours!"

"Two hours?!" Mayu exclaimed. "That's unreasonable!"

"Get used to it, suga!" Granny said grinning.

"I have got to find some friends..." Mayu thought.
