It was dark in the shadows of a forest. Leaves bristling in the cold night winds. Until the silence and darkness were disturbed when a girl jumped from a tree onto the ground, A man following her in the shadows. The girl walked forward into the night. The man followed. Suddenly she stopped and lifted her ears. The man froze. She bolted when she realized she was being followed and ran into a clearing. The man ran after her and threw a kunai at her, which she easily dodged. She threw one back, barely missing him, cutting him just a little.
'....Blood.....' the demon hissed.
'No' the girl thought 'Don't take over my body!'
'Why not? I could kill him easily' it thought back. Suddenly, the man was behind her.
'Shit! When did he-?' she thought as he hit the back of her neck.
'Heh heh heh' was all she could here as darkness overcame her.
''No,'' she whispered as she fell. The man bent to pick her up. He barely touched her shoulder when her eyes snapped open. The man seemed to freeze as she attacked him at lightning speed. Deadly and agile. A moment passed, and all that was heard was the sound of two bodies hitting the ground......
Hours passed.....
Her eyes fluttered open, and she bolted upright and looked around her. She was drenched in blood. The man's blood. His corpse in the centre of the clearing.
'Damnit' she thought 'I let her take control' She tried to stand up.....and fell back as she winced in pain, clutching the back of her head.
''Damnit!'' she said out loud to no-one in particular. Her head snapped around. She heard voices, and they were headed her way.
'Shit' she thought again. She couldn't move. All she could do was stand there as they walked into the clearing......
"Kakashi-sensei, guard duty is boring!" complained Naruto.
"Stop complaining Naruto!" said Sakura.
"Alright, alright, just one more look around then we'll be going" said Kakashi. Suddenly they heard a voice. They quickly went to where they heard the voice and they gaped in amazement into the clearing at the girl covered in blood, leaning against a tree. She had long dark red-brown hair and deep silver eyes. Her silver fingernails showed a slight resemblance to claws and she had slightly pointed canine teeth. A red-brown silver-tipped wolf-tail wrapped around her and pointed wolf ears edged silver twitched in annoyance. She wore a brown tank-top and kapri's matching the color of her browned skin. She was glaring at them, obviously suspicious. What surprised them most of all was the dead man in the center of the clearing, and the fact that she was covered in his blood. Sasuke recognized the object of his hatred almost immediatly, and dropped the kunai he was holding in shock.
''Itachi'' he whispered. No! It wasn't possible! Itachi was dead?! Killed by this fragile-looking girl?!
''Hey'' said Kakashi, slowly walking up to her ''What happened here?'' he eyed her warily.
"I killed this guy obviously'' said the girl, Sasuke narrowed his eyes.
"Why?'' said Sasuke.
"Cause he comes out of nowhere, starts following me and then tries to kill me! Got a problem with that?" she snarled eyeing the four of them cautiously, just now realizing they could be his allies.
''Do you know who he is?'' asked Sasuke quietly.
''No'' she said warily. Seeing him glare at her in shock and hatred.
'I knew it' She thought 'they're his allies'. Her hand, still behind her back, grasped a kunai.
''He is Uchiha Itachi of Akatsuki'' stated Kakashi.
"Oh, and I presume you are from this 'Akatsuki' as well?" She said, eyes narrowing as she took a step forward and fell back a little wincing in pain.
"No, No, quite the opposite actually" Kakashi said looking to avoid combat. She looked up at him warily as he continued to say.
"As you can tell from our forehead protecters, we are from Konoha" He said touching his forehead protecter. Kakashi introduced them.
"My Name is Hatake Kakashi, and this is my Genin team," He said. Sakura came forward and said,
"Hello! I am Haruno Sakura" she said. Sasuke looked at her and said simply.
"Uchiha Sasuke" then went back to looking at the Itachi. He was deep in thought.
'Itachi is dead, yet, why do I feel that I have been cheated of my revenge?' He looked at her again as Naruto introduced himself to her.
"Hi! I'm Uzumaki Naruto! But you can call me Naruto-kun" He said grinning. Sasuke's eyes narrowed.
'She looks so weak, how could she overpower Itachi? And why is her appearence like that of a wolf?' he thought looking at her canine ears, teeth, claws and tail. 'Something is definitely strange about her'
"What's your name?'' asked Naruto
''........Nanabi.........'' she answered
''Ok then Nabi-chan!! Nice to meet you!!'' Naruto said. She smiled at the nickname.
"Nice to meet you to....Naruto-kun" she said smiling. Sasuke looked at her strangely. She looked back
"What are you staring at?" she said
''What kind of name is that?" Sasuke asked.
''Mine" Nanabi said glaring at him.
Sasuke just narrowed his eyes and 'hmpf'ed . She got pissed off.
"What is your problem! You stupid idiot!" she yelled. Sasuke shook with anger and would have grabbed a kunai and charged at her if Kakashi hadn't held him back. She tried walking forward a bit.
"Don't make me go demon on your ass!" She said angrily. Naruto looked at her in disbelief. Kakashi spoke.
"What do you mean by demon?" he asked. "Calm down Sasuke" He whispered to Sasuke. Sasuke still glared at her.
"Demon as in I'm a half-demon Nanabi, do you have a problem with that?" She almost screamed. Naruto looked at her with different eyes.
'Half-demon?' he thought.
"Only if you are a dangerous threat" said Kakashi slowly. Naruto looked at him.
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't attack her! Sasuke just pissed her off!" He said. Kakashi looked at Naruto.
"We need to find out if she is friend or foe. She took down Itachi. She is not someone I can attack recklessly." he whispered to Naruto. Naruto stood back.
"Of course she's our friend! She killed Itachi! She's on our side!" he said. Sakura sweatdropped.
"Naruto, she said herself she didn't know who he was! That doesn't mean she's on our side!" she said. Naruto called out.
"Hey, are you a friend with Konoha or an enemy?" he said. Sakura rolled her eyes. Nanabi looked at Naruto.
"I don't know what Konoha is, but if its got food, I'm its friend." she said. Kakashi looked at her.
"You don't know what Konoha is?" he asked in disbelief. Sasuke's eyes widened as he looked at her.
"Then you probably didn't care for Konoha's symbol either." Kakashi sighed and said
"Well, if you promise not to attack anybody, I guess we can-" Kakashi was cutoff as Nanabi started walking away.
"Fuck that shit! If somebody pisses me off, I'm gonna, ow-" She fell down blacking out from the pain on her neck.
'Godamnit' she thought.
