Chapter 2: Two weeks training and team placement

It had been two days since Naruto had awakened his bloodline. Naruto woke up to his alarm clock. He had taken to getting up early so he could train since he had two weeks before he found out what team he would be placed on. He took a shower and then got dressed in his new outfit. A white under shirt with black pants with white trim and a black jacket with an embroidered silver wolf head on the back. A long with armor plated black gloves and black ninja sandals. To finish it off he put his headband on and smiled. “Alright now to go start working on my new Taijutsu style.” He said running out of his house and to the training field he had been using since he got his new clothes. He smiled when he found it empty like usual and made a cross like handsign. “Kage Bunshin no Jutsu.” He called out and 15 other Naruto's appeared in a poof of smoke. “Alright guys you know what to do lets all pair up.” He said pairing up with one of his clones while the rest of his clones paired off.

*5 hours later*

Naruto was sitting on the ground exhausted but satisfied with his progress nonetheless. “Heh not bad progress for two days. But there has to be a way that I can make this taijutsu a lot deadlier.” He said thinking to himself then he heard rustling behind him and threw a kunai at where the noise came from. “Alright whoever is there come out now.” Naruto growled out. A girl with brown hair done up in two buns came out from the bushes holding the kunai Naruto threw. She had brown eyes and wore an oriental fighting outfit.

“That's some impressive hearing you have to hear me from that far away. Though your kinda slow on noticing me. I've been watching you for at least two hours.” The girl said handing the kunai back to him. “That's an interesting taijutsu style though did you make it yourself? Oh I'm Tenten by the way.” Tenten said smiling.

Naruto took the kunai back and put it back in his kunai pouch on his hip then looked back up at Tenten. “Yea I needed a taijutsu style that fits me better then the academy style. But there's only so much I can do training against myself.” Naruto said while looking at Tenten. He blushed a bit do to the scent he could smell coming from her. The smell was that of iron and flowers as well as flowers. Oddly it smelt good. “My name is Naruto Uzumaki by the way.” He said standing up.

Tenten smiled at Naruto as he stood up. “If you want I could help you work on your Taijutsu. Even though I don't know anything about your taijutsu I'm sure I could help you fix any mistakes in your motions and the positioning of your feet and such. Not only that but fighting another style should help you know what to expect when fighting someone else.” She said smiling when she saw his eyes light up.

Naurto smiled and nodded. “I'd like that a lot. After all it would give me a chance to test how strong my taijutsu is now and see where I can strengthen it more. Oh I guess you want to know what the name of my taijutsu is huh?” Naruto said looking at her. She nodded and he decided to continue. “The name of it is Kage no Ookami.” Naruto said proudly.

Tenten looked like she was contemplating the name. “Sound like it has a lot of promise. Why don't you show me the starting stance of your taijutsu and then we'll go from there.” And so Tenten and Naruto started working on his taijutsu style and form. Tenten was surprised as they progressed when she realized that his legs were mainly used for speed and how he channeled Chakra to make himself faster and stronger. She was also surprised to see how much his movements actually looked like a wolf's. Especially since it was more of a clawing motion then punches that he incorporated into it.

*One week later*

Naruto made his way to the training ground that he had been using for the last week. He looked around and decided to do the warm ups that Tenten had suggested. He now also wore weights at her insistance. She had said that this would make him faster and stronger so he had no complaints. He had also gotten chakra control exercises from the hokage. He had already mastered the tree walking exercise and was starting on water walking. Though he hadn't gotten that far with it. But his chakra control training had given him an idea for how to make his attacks not only more effective but also more dangerous. He smirked as he heard Tenten trying to sneak up on him and disappeared in a blur of speed and put a dagger to her neck from behind. “Nice try Tenten but you should have realized by now that I'm not easy to sneak up on.” He said releasing her and stepping back smiling. She smiled turning to face him as well.

“Yea I know that. Now come on lets see how well your Taijutsu is now.” Tenten said walking back to the training field and getting in her stance. Naruto smiled walking to a spot directly across from her and got into his own stance looking like a wolf ready to pounce. Tenten smirked and decided to take the initiative this time charging forward. She quickly regretted this though as Naruto twisted his body to the side and brought one clawed hand up to strike her. She moved out of the way just in time only getting a few strands of hair cut. She jumped back in surprise. “Naruto how did you do that?”

Naruto smirked. “Well if your thinking you can do it I wouldn't advise it. I have special traits that let me do it safely.” Naruto said as his claws shrunk back to the normal length of his nails. “Basicly I just channeled chakra into my nails and made them lengthen, harden and sharpen. So what do you think Tenten will this make my taijutsu more effective or what?” Naruto asked smiling.

Tenten just looked at him shocked. “Yea that will definitely make it more effective. It also seems like you have gotten a lot faster even with the weights. You might want to increase them just a little bit.” She said smiling at the look of disgust on his face. “I know you don't like them but it will help they've helped so far haven't they.”

“Yea that's true. Anyways I guess I'll go do that and then work on the water walking exercise. Thanks for all the help. See ya later Ten-chan.” Naruto said smirking noticing her blushing before he turned and walked away.

*Day of Team placement*

Naruto was the first one to the academy on the day of team placement. He sat up in the corner, which was unusual for him. Then again him arriving an hour early was unusual as well. But he wanted to see everyone's reaction when they saw him here. After waiting an hour they all seemed pretty shocked. But no one got a chance to say anything because at that moment Iruka walked in. “Alright I see everyone's here. So I'll just get on with team placements.” Iruka said but stopped when he saw Sakura's hand up. “Yes Sakura?” he asked.

“Sensei what is Naruto no baka doing her here I thought this class was for graduating students only.” She sneered hoping Naruto would get kicked out.

“Naruto is here because he did pass under special circumstances. And before you ask he is not the first person to do this there are other graduates in older years that have graduated this same way. Now then the team placements are.” Naruto blocked out the list of teams until he heard his name. “Team seven will be Uzumaki Naruto, Hyuga Hinata, and Inuzuka Kiba. Your sensei will be Yuuhi Kurenai.” There was a thunk as Hinata passed out at finding out that Naruto was on the same team as her. “Team eight will be Uchiha Sasuke, Haruno Sakura, and Aburame Shino. Your sensei will be Hatake Kakashi.” There was a groan of defeat from Ino and a cheer from Sakura at this. “Team nine is still in circulation from last year. So team ten will be. Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, and Akimichi Choji. Your sensei will be Sarutobi Asuma.” Iruka finished the team placements and told them that they we would have an hour lunch and then there sensei's would come to get them after lunch.

A/N: Ok there is the newest chapter and the team placements. Next chapter will be meeting the sensei's and the true Genin tests.
