Neji pushed himself up to a sitting position the explosion that had knocked him over had sent him flying into Hinitia knocking the Heiress unconscious and very nearly himself his vision swam, his chakra almost entirely spent. A warm hands grabbed his shoulders causing him to gasp in pain he struggled against the person only to have them lean in wrapping their arms around him he drew a kunai and was about to stab his attacker when Ten-Ten spoke.

“It's just me I'd rather not lose an eye thanks.” He dropped his arm and leaned into the girl as she supported them at the same time looking at the figures in the cloud.

“Can you,” her voice trailed off he nodded his head forming the seals,

“Byakugan” grasping at what he saw.

 

 

 

 

Daybreak inside the cave.

 

Arashia stood over an alert silver haired Jounin in one hand she held a kunai twirling it around her finger, her blue eyes flashed at him not far away Naruto lay in a growing pool of his own blood.

“So the son of the great White Fang, can't do anything for his teammate once again.” She knelt down and pressed the kunai to his throat with enough press that a small trickle slipped along the blade. “You really have no Idea what is going to happen do you. I guess Obito's eye didn't help you all that much did it?” Her mocking tone sent a shiver down his spine and he gritted his teeth.

“Arashia, is it ready?” the Shadow called to her before standing to answer she wiped the blood on his vest front right over the sutra seal.

“Yes you can began any time.” She turned to the grotesque monster that had carried Naruto in and motioned him to her.

“Go play with your new toy but do it where I can't hear, see or smell it.” She shook a finger at the creature who gleefully scooped the jounin up tossing him over his shoulder. Kakashi yelled doing his best to get her attention again, anything to stop what he could see starting to happen. Naruto's body was being enveloped by a cloud of that twisted and swirled and entered his body though his month as he screamed in agony the red chakra of the Kyuubi leaking out. The boy's screams filled the cave and not a single person outside remained unaffected.

Sasuke hearing his friend tore though Hidan ripping the mans head off at the same time taking his weapon from his fingers and cutting him in half with it. The head laughed at his attempt to kill the semi-immortal only to scream and disappear as the enraged Uchiha formed the seals for Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu incinerating the man leaving nothing but ash. Gaara remembering his own pain charged the line his sand swiping up into a giant wave and smashing down on those in his path his brother and sister watching could now understand some of what had happened to their little brother when Akatsuki had taken him not to long ago and hearing the screams coming from inside the cave they had to get Naruto out before the blonde was killed.

Tsunade felt sick upon hearing the boys cries her heart twisted in her chest an image of her brother and Dan flashed before her and with them stood the young boy still a child when she meet him all those years ago swearing he would be Hokage one day. Jiriaya was fairing no better the look on his face spoke volumes, she knew how he felt he lost one student a long time ago and that pain still haunted him now he was about to loss the mans son if they didn't do something.

Kakashi snarled and twisted as much as he could trying to inflict pain on his captor he could hear fighting nearby which gave him renewed energy, so reinforcements had arrived there was a chance that Naruto could be saved!

 

Arashia sighed so much to do and so little time tapping her wrist guard she pushed all thoughts to the back of mind sealing them from all present only the Uchiha, the Shadow, and Hidan remained, Scratch that her grin in place, another one bits the dust, so that leaves big ugly and the other two this would be interesting.

Taking her place next to Itachi she smiled at him, oh he was handsome all right it was to bad things had to turn out like they where about to. She blocked the sounds coming out of her brother and went to work they never saw it coming true to form Konoha's yellow flash made short work of the Uchiha killer, he even tried to use his Magenkyu Sharingan on her. She meet his gaze challengingly and watched as the customary Uchiha smirk graced his lips.

“For the next 72 hours you will suffer and beg me for your death.” Her mental body was tied to a cross and he held a katana in front of her eyes before plunging it into her body. She let her head fall forward bangs shadowing her eyes.

“You can't escape me here, you will die.” His voice was cold with indifference.

“ `You don't think that will honestly work on me do you?'” She was standing directly behind him. Her arms wrapped around the dark haired ex-Konoha shinobi and she breathed in his ear.

“ `You are many things Uchiha Itachi, but my equal you are not.'” She smiled up at him their positions reversed. “ `I don't even have to do anything your own intent fills this world and you will end your self.'” Once again in the real world Arashia turned to watch the shocked expression on his face as she used his own jutsu against him was priceless and he dropped to the floor dead.

 

 

“Don't worry little man you will make a big snack for me I will make it fast.” The creatures voice was truly terrifying, Kakashi felt the bile rise in his throat but fought it down.

“Yes, yesss.” It hissed “Very nice little morsel.” It plopped him down on the ground jarring his whole body his teeth clicked and he bit the inside of his lip tasting blood.

“Damn it.” He hissed the seal on his chest began to glow getting warm and the blood that Arashia wiped on it bubbled his mind worked feverishly when a voice spoke in his head

“ `Get Sakura and Sasuke the way has been opened for you!'”

Reaching out the creature took hold of his vest and pulled him up so his chest was eye level with the creature it took hold of the suture seal and beginning to peel it off along with his vest.

“What's this to much clothes can't see the meat.” Kakashi struggled against the binds on his hands and was surprised when they came undone. The creature turned him around and pulled his vest off the rest of the way once he was free of both Kakashi took a deep breath and used Katon Karyuu Endan. It screamed dropping him on the ground he spun trying to land on his feet and barely missed the rock jutting up from the floor at a sharp angle

“YOU WILL DIE SLOW!” it screamed at him clutching its face with both hands his vest dangling from a deformed finger.

“ `USE THE SUTRA YOU FOOL!'” Now free he snatched the sutra off the vest and palmed it to the wall the resulting explosion opened a gapping hole in the side of the mountain and he sped off calling out for both remaining members of his team as he went.

 

“What are you doing Arashia?” The shadow asked its voice calm and unafraid.

“Paying back a debt.” She spoke from behind the shadow before pushing the seal through its back and onto its chest, the cloud surrounding Naruto dropped him to the ground sufficing the body of the shadow and sucking the life out of him as well as the demon he had absorbed.

Dropping down beside her barely breathing brother she touched the fingers of her right hand to the ring on his right index finger the seal on the ring swirled with red chakra. `Kami let this work, Dad.' Focusing her chakra she sent it into Naruto's mind and body healing it as best she could enough to keep him alive the Fox demon could do the rest. Standing she could hear the howling inside of the stone monster in the center of the cave this would be the hard part placing both hands on the edifice she breathed deep and summoned the hidden power with in it calling to the fox and the others trapped inside they surged to her voice and using her as a conduit escaped their prison. She gritted her teeth against the pain as it seared her flesh at some point she knew she passed out because when she woke she heard screaming and her head hurt she didn't realize it was her own voice she was hearing and mentally she cursed who ever was making all the rack. Blinding light swirled in the cave and she chanced a glance over her shoulder at Naruto who was looking back at her the ring on his finger had stop glowing and she could see the difference in his chakra.

`Thank Kami it worked.' “Naruto” she wheezed out before she felt clawed hands rake her back splitting her open and she dropped to the ground spent and bleeding her eyes closed and the world was black.

“Oi bastard.” The creature turned to the revived boy. “That's our nee-chan.” The rough timber snarled out red and blue chakra swirled visibly, electricity crackled in and around him.

The Shadow stared at the boy and thought `He should be dead there is no way for it to be possible. The fox was removed from him he should be DEAD.' Eerie keening filled the camber and crimson blood dripped from the walls the stone edifice spilt and shattered.

 

 

 

 

Kakashi didn't have to look far for his former students Sasuke was covered in blood and Sakura didn't look much better she was standing in the middle of a crater half as deep as she was tall sweat dipping from her chin and arms. He skidded to a halt in front of the kunichi the pair where almost to the hole he made with the sutra seal.

“ `Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke he needs you NOW!'” Sakura's eyes widened in shock but she clamped down on the emotion, as did the other two and turning they rushed back the same hole Kakashi had just left. They made it to where Naruto was at the smell of fresh blood filled the silver haired Jounin's nose but the screaming had stopped and fearing the worst team 7 rounded the bend as the keening sound reached its peek.

Kakashi shouted for Sasuke and Sakura to take cover as a large explosion ripped the granite wall and the mountain they where in exploded disintegrating and leaving them in a cloud of dust and debris.

When the cloud cleared they saw Naruto kneeling several feet away under a dome of swirling yellow chakra what surprised them was that they also had domes of yellow chakra covering them. It dissipated allowing them to stand and walk over to their teammate who was holding a limp body in his arms, it was covered in blood and once bright blonde hair was matted and bloody.

“How did you get here?” He asked them not looking up as he held his sister in his arms.

“She called us.” Sasuke and Sakura both nodded. Sakura touched his shoulder gently offering comfort, he didn't pull away but she felt his mental withdrawal it was then that she noticed that the other woman took a breath and Naruto tensed staring hard at the woman he held.

“Nee-chan?” his voice shook and he made to run towards Tsunade when she spoke.

“ `Set me down nii-chan.'” His hold on her tightened and he took another step. `

“Please” her voice was horse and she coughed up blood, his arms where coated in it as well as his own, a mix of both of them. Sakura closed her eyes this was horribly unfair Naruto deserved to have his sister with him not to loose her again.

“ ` Heed me little brother, I am not long for this world and I don't want to prolong it.'” Her mental voice touched all of them.

“I have worked for Akatsuki and Orochimaru and done unspeakable things.” Her voice broke tears spilling from her blue eyes so much like Naruto's. “I deserve this.” The boy held her tighter his unshed tears burning in his eyes. Blood was soaking the ground and his clothes and all he wanted to do was run for Tsunade -obaba-chan to get her healed.

Arashis could hear his thoughts and reaching up placed a gentle small hand on his cheek smiling weakly. Her physical voice no longer able to work she spoke to all four of them in their minds.

“ ` I have done to much evil myself to be forgiven I would rather die here as a shinobi of Konoha the yellow flash's Daughter.'” The black guard on her wrist caught the light revealing the Hidden leaf's symbol. Her smile was sad as she looked to Kakashi and spoke to him.

“ ` I am sorry for the things I did to you and more sorry to leave you behind then you know. I did and do love you Hatake Kakashi with all my heart and soul.'” Privately she opened her mind to him and touching the chakra pathways to his left eye,

“ `I give you this. It's the least I can do.'” she megered them together allowing him to finally activate and deactivate the sharingan he grasped in surprise and lifted the Hiate-eta he could see normally out of the eye Obito had given him. Beside him Sakura was crying Sasuke was holding her shoulders and watching his best friend.

“ `Sasuke I took your revenge from you because evil only begets evil and if you killed Itachi you would be no better then him love my brother as your own help him hold and guide him he can be alittle scattered at times.'” A weak laugh flowed over the group at the understatement.

“ `Sakura be his friend he will need you and Hinita when I am gone.'” Tears spilled down the Kunichi's face and dripped off her chin. A spasm of pain crossed the woman's face and her eyes closed tightly against it.

“ `He got me better then I thought the old bastard could.'” The words filtered though to each of them.

“ `Don't hate me Naruto-nii-chan, I meet you and was able to spend time with you, I wanted to do more love you like you deserved from me I'm sorry for deceiving you and hurting and those you love if there had been another way I would have gladly taken it but,'” her voice stopped and she gasped for air the blood had slowed and her face was pale white lips clenched in a line.

“ ` Do something you damn FOX you have the power you can save her.'” Naruto's desperation making him shout as he watched his sister bleeding to death in front of his eyes.

“ `I would brat but she wont let me!!'” Came the fervent reply. Naruto swore out loud as well as internally until a horse laugh stopped him.

“I was the conduit the first time he was sealed and the second time for your merger.” Her wheezing voice painfully heartbreaking to hear. “He can't help now.” She grasped out.

“Please let me take you to Tsunade-sama she can heal you, please.” He begged her his voice cracking he didn't see his friends any more just the broken and bleeding woman that was his sister in his arms. His heart twisted she wasn't going to let him he knew but he would wait till she passed out then carry her unresisting to Tsunade for healing yes that would work. Arashia chuckled then stopped as it took what little breath she had and she still had things to tell him. She keep her fear bottled and leashed it break her resolve if he even guessed she didn't want to die. Speaking only to her brother she looked him in the eye holding his gaze.

“ `I can't be brave like you I never was I was always selfish but I never wanted to die alone so..'” “Just hold me brother.” She closed her eyes the hand on his cheek rubbed gently and he pressed his face to it.

“Kami this hurts.” She breathed out as her chakra fluxed and faded her upper body propped in his lap Naruto stayed where he was at, one arm wrapped around her torso the other holding her hand to his face as her sprit slowly drifted out and her breathing came to a stop. Her head fell forward and to the side on the boys shoulder. Sasuke watched as the boy who he knew as his best friend and brother died a small death along with the woman who had come to mean so much to him he didn't make a sound and no one moved for the longest time then suddenly Naruto threw his head back and screamed his pain and heartbreak his eyes flashed red and the whisker marks on his face darkened and spread. He screamed again the sound echoing to every human present birds took flight startled by the harsh, howling noise and all present found themselves crying. By the time the sound faded to nothing the cloud of debris and dust that surrounded them was gone and they where visible to their friends once again.

Sasuke was still looking at him a stricken look on his face, in all the years he had ever known Naruto he had never seen this broken look on the boy much less the sobs that were raking his body. He had wrapped both arms around Arashia's body and was rocking back and forth sobbing brokenly and he was at a loss as to what to do for his friend he noticed Kakashi crying as well and was surprised to see his Hiate-eti up all the way instead of covering his Sharingan then he saw why, the eye was deactivated. He was stunned Arashia told Kakashi she loved him then gave him a gift not even Tsunade could have.

Naruto quieted down, slowly his friends making a circle around him as he held Arashia he was no longer crying but tears still leaked from blood shot eyes he stood cradling her body to him her head still laying on his shoulder and began his long journey back to Konoha.

 

It took 4 days to return to the Village Hidden in the Leaves word was sent ahead as to what happened, the details left vague, the procession of shinobi returning walking silently through the gates were greeted by worried family and friends. Kakashi, Sasuke, and Sakura followed a very solemn Naruto to the Hokage monument. Sakura's father and mother waved at her to come to them but she shook her head, the rookie nine stayed with them as well. During the whole trip back Naruto didn't say a word and he wouldn't let anyone else carry his sisters body Sakura and Sasuke both had to force him to eat watching to make sure.

The funeral was held that evening Arashia's body was burned on a pyre the flames leaping to the sky. Naruto stood surrounded by his friends who were his family as the rest of Konoha returned to their homes the news that the Fourth's daughter had saved the village like her father had 18 years ago at the cost of her life whispered on many tongues.

Neji, Ten-Ten, Lee, Shikimaru, Ino, Choji, Kiba, Hinita, Shino, Tsunade, Jiriaya, Shinuze, Kakashi, and Iruka stood behind the Blonde shinobi in silent support. A breeze ruffled his blonde hair and a voice soft and gentle filled the minds of all present.

“ `Don't be sad little brother, I will always protect you, I love you.'” With that a ghost of his former grin touched his lips, the warm breeze curling around each of them like a gentle caress before picking up whipping there clothes and hair before curling the flames up high into the air leaving behind the warmth of the fire and the stillness of the night and twinkling stars. If no one else saw the shaded face in the flames that smiled and winked at the blonde shinobi giving him comfort and telling him it was ok to smile again then he would keep the knowledge to himself.
