Chapter 2: The beginning of an end
When Sakura awoke, she found herself wrapped tightly in Sasuke's arms. She blinked a bit, noting how close his face was to hers. Gently sighing, she tried to get out of his grasp without any luck. She just lay there, not knowing if this was as good or bad thing. Slowly she eased her way out of his fairly tight hold and sighed. Was he really back? Or was this another one of her childish dreams? Sakura walked to the kitchen and got out some things for breakfast and smiled to herself. No…it wasn't a dream. It was real. Sasuke came to her at three in the morning and had asked to stay with her. She began to make some tea when she heard a tired grunt come from her bedroom.
”He's awake…”
”He's awake…”
Sakura spoke quietly to herself and looked back out of the corner of her eyes as Sasuke entered the room. He lazily looked over Sakura. For some reason, she looked better in the early morning light than in the lighting of her apartment. The light played a small glow on her hair and her skin, making her look like an angel. Sasuke blushed and looked down, realizing she was wearing only a t-shirt. A small blush formed across his cheeks.
“Uh…. G…Good Morning, Sakura-Chan”
Sakura turned and smiled at him, nodding a bit as she fixed some tea for him.
“Good morning, Sasuke-Kun”
Sasuke felt a smile playing on his lips, but he managed to keep a straight face. Slowly, he stepped towards Sakura, brushing a stray pink lock out of her face. He once again suppressed a smile as he saw her blush. She was so cute when she did that. How long have I really been gone…for her and I to change this much? Sasuke thought. Sakura's hand went to his and held it in her soft, warm hand. Sasuke couldn't help it. He had to smile. A soft, unexpected smile crossed his face (and to Sakura's surprise) stayed there. She blushed even more and smiles back shyly, then realized that Sasuke was leaning in closer to her. His cold, black eyes were now almost glowing, but not quite there.
“Sakura-Chan…”
Sasuke's voice was calm and gentle, showing some hint of an emotion that Sakura had never heard from him before. She leaned back on the counter, as he got closer to her.
“Y…yes, Sasuke-kun?'
Sakura finally managed to stammer out soft, barely audible words. What she heard Sasuke say next was making her inner side go off.
“Sakura-Chan…I love you…”
Sakura's inner side went nuts. “He just said I love you!!! Oh yea!!!! Tell him you love him back!!! C'mon!! I know you dooo!!” Sakura smiled more.
“I love you too, Sasuke-kun..”
Sasuke tried to hide a small blush as his lips touched hers. The kiss was firm and Sakura wasn't used to it. She wrapped one arm around him and kissed him back. Sasuke placed a hand on the counter as he pulled back with a smile and an emotion in his eyes that Sakura had never seen before. She turned her head quickly when she heard her bedroom window open, knowing exactly who it was. Sakura began to speak.
“Sasuke…You need to-“
Sasuke cut her off by putting a finger to her lips softly. He quietly hushed her before kissing her again, this time softly and gently, but a bit deeper than before. Sakura's eyes widened before they closed, her arms finding their way around Sasuke's waist. Sasuke heard someone enter the kitchen. He quickly pulled away from Sakura at the sound of breaking glass. Quickly he turned, hiding Sakura's body. Lowly, he growled.
“Naruto, you dunce. Why don't you knock or something?!”
Naruto stood in disbelief. He was just on his was over to ask Sakura out to lunch when he sees her and this bastard kissing. His anger boiled up and before he knew it, his fist had split open Sasuke's lip.
