Hey You-Pink Floyd
Hey you! Out there in the cold Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me
Hey you! Standing in the aisles With itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel me Hey you! don't help them to bury the light Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you! out there on your own sitting naked by the phone would you touch me Hey you! with your ear against the wall Waiting for someone to call out would you touch me Hey you! would you help me to carry the stone Open your heart, I'm coming home
But it was only a fantasy The wall was too high as you can see No matter how he tried he could not break free And the worms ate into his brain.
Hey you! out there on the road Always doing what you're told, can you help me Hey you! out there beyond the wall Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me Hey you! don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall.
Chapter 12
When Hinata opened her eyes she almost half expected to be surrounded by clan members. Instead what she saw was a worried Naruto talking to a concerned Sakura. She licked her lips and sat up. “Hey,” she said through dry lips.
Naruto turned around to face Hinata. “Hinata-chan,” he said brushing her hair away from her face. “How are you feeling?”
“I have a horrible headache but otherwise okay,” she told them. She fought to keep her eyes open. “Okay…I lied…I’m really…tired,” she said, the sleep slurring her last words.
Naruto looked at Sakura with panic in his eyes. “Sakura-chan is she okay? Should we get Baa-chan?”
Sakura giggled a little. “She’s fine; Shishou said she wasn’t getting enough rest; so she added a sleep jutsu to activate if she started moving around too much. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt the baby,” she said squeezing his shoulder. “You look like you could use some rest too.”
Naruto took a step away from the pinkette. “You keep your chakra hands away from me. I’ve got to stay awake to watch over Hinata. I mean what if her dad comes back?” he said looking into Sakura’s green eyes. “I know…no one will let that happen…blah, blah, blah,” he snapped.
Sakura shook her head. “Okay…whatever you say,” she said with a shrug. “If you change your mind come and get me.”
“Yeah like that’ll happen,” he muttered under his breath. He pulled the chair up to the side of the bed and sat down.

Hiashi stood glaring at the pink haired medic nin who was blocking his way. “I have every right to see my oldest daughter,” he huffed.
Sakura’s right hand twitched and she had to keep herself from making a fist. She didn’t give a damn what clan he was head of; he was on her turf now. “Look,” she started in a firm voice. “Tsunade-sama said no visitors from the Hyuga clan. It’s my job to see that her orders are carried out. If you have any problems with that I suggest you take it up with her.” Sakura crossed her arms over her chest and glared back at the arrogant man.
Hiashi was beginning to lose his patience; he took a deep breath. “She’s my daughter; don’t you understand that I am concerned for her well being?”
Sakura raised her eyebrows slightly. ‘Yeah right...since when?’ she thought as she measured her next words carefully. “Hinata and the baby are fine,” she repeated emphasizing the word ‘baby’. She fought a grin when the older jounin grimaced. “She’s asleep anyway and after the show you put on in Shishou’s office… Yeah, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t want to see you.” She smiled a big fake smile at him.
“Fine, I want to speak to the boy then,” he said.
Sakura considered it for a moment and shook her head. “Iie, if he wants to talk to you, he’ll find you. Oh and by the way…his name is Naruto not the boy.” She laughed. “I have a feeling if you mess with Naruto right now…you might regret it. He’s in a really bad mood,” she said with a smirk.
By now Hiashi had just about enough of her insolence. “Fine I will go find Tsunade-sama and ask her myself,” he said in a hateful tone. “And you can be assured that I will be speaking to her about you insolent attitude,” he added with a self assured smirk.
Sakura could not believe the audacity of Hinata’s father; strolling in here like he owned the place. “You do that,” she smart mouthed him. “Although I’ve no idea where you might find her because she’s already left the office for the day.”
Ino walked into the lobby of the hospital and wondered what exactly was going on. ‘Forehead is having a stare down with Hinata’s dad? Ooookay,’ she thought. She walked up beside Sakura and kissed her on the cheek, ignoring the snort of disapproval for Hiashi. “Hey…what’s with Hyuga-san?” the blond asked Sakura.
“He’s just leaving,” Sakura said in an irritated voice. She turned to look at Hiashi, who smirked, made a sign and disappeared in a puff of smoke. “Shit,” she yelled in an exasperated voice. “That fucker thinks he’s slick.” She grabbed Ino’s wrist and broke into to a run.
Ino stumbled and quickly recovered, matching Sakura’s frantic pace. “What the hell forehead, are you trying to kill me?” she yelled.
Sakura glanced over her shoulder at Ino. “Naruto and Hinata,” was the only thing she said and sped up.
“Sakura let go of my hand,” Ino yelled. “Stop and think a minute; do you think Naruto can’t handle him?”
Sakura stopped and looked at Ino like she was crazy. “It’s not Naruto I’m worried about; it’s what he might do to Hiashi.”
Ino considered that for a moment. “Yeah…good point,” she said with a shrug.
They walked the remaining few yards to Hinata’s room. “Fucking hell…he’s in there Ino,” Sakura said in a worried voice as she tried the door. “Fucking fuck…he’s got a seal on the door that I can’t break. It’s a fucking Hyuga jutsu…shit,” she mumbled.
Ino’s light blue eyes widened. “What are you going to do? We can’t just leave them in the together; Naruto will kill him,” she yelled.
“Tell me something I don’t know…” the pinkette grumbled under her breath.
“Can’t you break through the wall or something?” the blond kunoichi suggested.
Sakura snorted in disgust. “If I hit it hard enough I can knock the entire room out of the building, but that still won’t remove the seal on the room itself,” she said shaking with barely controlled rage.
Ino wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. “Take a deep breath and clear your head,” she said kissing the back of Sakura’s neck. “We’ll go get Neji; maybe he can break the jutsu.”
Sakura took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “Yeah…you’re right…we should get Neji.”

Kit…Wake up now…I’m sensing murderous intent, the fox hissed in Naruto’s mind. ‘Huh…why are you being so loud?’ Naruto’s sleep fogged mind answered. The fox youkai sighed. Your mate’s father is close, Kyuubi growled. Naruto’s head snapped up from where it had been laying on the bed. He squinted into the darkest corner of the room and smirked. “I can see you there hiding like a coward,” he sneered at Hiashi.
Hiashi stepped forward into to the dim light and chuckled. “The ever present guardian I see,” he paused to look over at the bed where Hinata was sound asleep. “The clan’s only hope for her was to marry well and be taken care of,” he shifted his gaze back to Naruto. “Do you know how frustrating it is to have no sons and two daughters who insist on playing ninja?”
Naruto glared at Hiashi. “Hinata is not playing; she is a great kunoichi,” he said between tightly clenched teeth.
It took every ounce of willpower Hinata had to not smile after Naruto finished talking. She thought about things her father said about her and brushed it off; she’d heard it all before anyway.
Naruto clenched his teeth harder and tried to will the Kyuubi’s chakra away. Not that had ever worked. ‘Look I don’t need your help flea bag,’ he screamed at the fox youkai. He will not disrespect us, the fox growled. ‘I can’t hurt Hinata’s father; she’d hate me if I did that,’ he answered, pleading with the now irrational kitsune. Fine…but at the first sign of trouble…I will take over, Kyuubi growled.
Naruto exhaled slowly and focused his attention on Hiashi, who was slowly beginning to realize just how big of a mistake he’d made. Judging by the look on Hiashi’s face Naruto figured his eyes must have changed over to the red of the Kyuubi. “I suggest you leave before you get yourself hurt,” he said in a low growl.
“Do you think I’m afraid of you? Let’s get one thing straight, gaki like you don’t scare me,” Hiashi said.
Naruto laughed, who did this old man think he was trying to fool? “Gaki like me can fucking kill you before you even have time to think.” He flashed Hiashi an evil smile. Out of the corner of his eye he caught the slight movement that told him Hinata was awake. He laughed again. “So tell me…what’s your plan? Because trust me…If you take her from me…I will find her and you will never see us again.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” Hiashi sneered, his bravado overriding his common sense.
“Just try me,” the blond replied with a smirk. “Oh I know what you’re thinking…and you’re right. I won’t kill you, because she loves you,” he said motioning towards Hinata, who was looking a bit horrified.
Hiashi’s eyes shifted over to his daughter. “Well I don’t care if she loves you or not. She’s my daughter and she does what I say.”
Naruto snorted in disgust. “Does she? Does she really? Because I was under the impression she is her own person. You know, you could ask her. I bet she’ll tell you who she wants to be with,” he said staggering forward a few steps as the fox’s chakra surged through his body. ‘Stop,’ he yelled at the fox. No…I’ve had enough of this jackass’s attitude, Kyuubi growled. Naruto felt his control on the fox slipping. Not that he had that much control in the first place.
Hinata’s eyes widened and she got out of the bed. “Father,” she said glaring at Hiashi. “Stop…just stop it now. Can’t you see I’m with him now? I’m happy…we’re happy; leave us alone,” she said in a loud voice.
“Hinata, can’t you see how dangerous he is? Is this what you want your child raised around?” Hiashi said in a voice dripping with fake concern.
Hinata stepped closer to Naruto; she wasn’t afraid. “I love him. I love everything about him and that includes the Kyuubi sealed inside of him. He will do anything to protect me and our child. Why are you trying to take that away from me?” She shot a glance over at Naruto, who was fast being overcome by the Kyuubi’s chakra. He let out a loud growl, making her gasp. “Naruto-kun?” she said quietly. Now she was starting to worry; it he couldn’t control the fox she didn’t know what might happen. Suddenly the door burst open and Sakura, Neji and Ino ran inside.
Neji grabbed his uncle by the arm. “You need to leave now. We will handle this…without anyone getting hurt.”
Hiashi shook his arm free. “I won’t have her ruined by that…trash,” he sneered.
Naruto lunged towards Hiashi, his body acting under the will of the fox now. Hinata didn’t stop to think; she threw her arms around his waist. Her skin felt like it was on fire as the Kyuubi’s chakra enveloped her. She put her face up near his ear. “Please…stop…don’t do this…” she begged the fox, even though she wasn’t all that sure if she was getting through to the Kyuubi.
It was at that moment Naruto became aware that she was the one restraining him. ’Don’t hurt her,’ he screamed in his mind at the fox. Fine…but don’t think it’s because of you kit. It’s for her and the kit she’s carrying, the fox growled. And she said she loves me. Naruto took a deep breath as the charka faded away. He exhaled slowly and turned his head to look at Hinata, who was sobbing against his shoulder. “Hinata-chan,” he whispered. He felt her head lift off his shoulder. He pulled her into his arms and she sobbed into his chest. “Are you alright?”
She looked up into his slowly fading red eyes. “I-I think so,” she said in a shaky voice. “Are you alright?” she asked him in a concerned voice.
He hugged her tightly. “Yeah I think so,” he said kissing the top of her head.
Sakura caught a movement out of the corner of her eye and turned her head in time to see Hiashi lunging towards the couple. “Fuck! Neji get him away from them,” she yelled.
Neji grabbed his uncle’s arm and hit a couple of chakra points on his spine rendering his arms useless. “If you want to continue walking I suggest you give up now,” he hissed in Hiashi’s ear.
Hiashi shot his nephew a dirty look. “Fine. I will say this though: Hinata you are no longer fit to bear the Hyuga name. Forget any ties to the clan; this is one bridge you will be sorry you burned,” he yelled at his oldest daughter.
Hinata crossed the room in a few steps and was face to face with her father. “That’s fine…I don’t want to be associated with a clan that doesn’t believe in love anyway. I would rather be an Uzumaki any day. You will come to me before I will ever come to you for anything…Hiashi,” she said in a strong voice. She turned and slid her arm around Naruto and looked at her father. “What a sad, pathetic man you are…it’s a shame really,” she said shaking her head.
Sakura looked at Hiashi and smirked. “I told you he was in a bad mood, but noooo, you didn’t believe me.” She laughed when Hiashi glared at her. “You’re just lucky we found Neji when we did. Can you imagine what could have happened to you otherwise?”
Hiashi paled at the thought of what could’ve happened had Hinata not intervened and stopped the Kyuubi-possessed Naruto. A shiver went down his spine and he stopped to look over his shoulder at the couple. Neji shoved him forward and out the door. They were followed by Ino and Sakura. The group passed Tsunade, who was leaning against the wall with a thick file under her arm.
“I see you don’t follow direction too well…Hiashi,” she said in a tone that clearly said ‘you dumbass’. The honey blond looked at Sakura. “Is everything okay in there?”
“Yes Shishou,” the pinkette replied. “We’re just giving the lovebirds some time to themselves,” she said with a grin.
“Good, but I need to finish talking to them,” Tsunade said to Sakura as she passed. The Godaime sighed and looked at the file in her hands. “Well…it’s now or never,” she said out loud to herself as she crossed the hall to knock on the door.
****
Hinata and Naruto looked up when they heard the knock on the door. “Ne, who could that be?” Naruto asked in quiet voice.
Hinata activated her Byakugan and checked. “It’s Tsunade-sama,” she said giving him a silly grin. “I can’t imagine what she wants.”
Naruto flopped down in the chair. “Hn, I’m probably in trouble now. Threatening the life of a Hyuga or some such shit.” He cut his eyes over to the door.
“She has a file with her,” Hinata said with a small smile. “Come in!” she yelled.
Naruto sat up a little straighter in the chair and willed his heart to slow down. “Do you think she’s really going to tell me?” he whispered.
Hinata kissed him on the cheek. “Just remember to breathe and don’t worry she will tell you,” she breathed in his ear, making him gasp. “See? You forgot to breathe again,” she said, this time brushing her lips over the shell of his ear.
Tsunade noisily cleared her throat. “Hinata I’m going to have to ask you to refrain from doing that on the grounds that I need Naruto’s full attention,” the Fifth said with a grin. She waited until the blond looked up at her and opened the file. She pulled a piece of paper out of the front of the file and held it out to Naruto.
He looked at the paper and then at Tsunade. “What’s that?” he asked stupidly.
Hinata skimmed her eyes over the page and gasped.
Tsunade handed him the document. “It’s your birth certificate.”

He looked at the paper and then at Tsunade. “What’s that?” he asked stupidly.
Hinata skimmed her eyes over the page and gasped.
Tsunade handed him the document. “It’s your birth certificate.”
