Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ No Dice ❯ Deuces ( Chapter 2 )
Hi! Okay, yeah, I'm sorry it took so long to update, but seeing as that I'm becoming more poor each day because of the stupid Christmas shopping, and how that's eating up all my time… I think I'm doing pretty good.
Kakashi - *walks in, looks around, spots a chair, sits and then reads*
E1 - … Where'd you come from?
Kakashi - *tears gaze away from book* Huh? What?
*random Kakashi fangirl barrels in and massively glomps Kakashi* GHAAAAAAAH!
E1 - O.O
Kakashi - ~.~;;;; …
*rfg leaves*
E1 - Okay, I think I'll just lock this door… were you hiding from… THEM?
Kakashi - *sweatdrops* Uh… yeah. *laughs halfheartedly at himself* And this was the only room with a comfy chair.
E1 - *face-faults* Ooookaay. Um, well I guess I'll just leave you there… *walks back to her computer and starts writing again*
Kakashi - *goes back to book*
… (time passes)
E1 - *looks up from random words she's typing cause she's bored* Hey, Kakashi?
Kakashi - *continues reading book* Hmmm???
E1 - Could you do the disclaimer?
Kakashi - Okay… E1 does not own anything Naruto, with the exception of Volumes 1 - 5 and chapters she's downloaded from Narutofan.com. And any plushies she may be hiding from the known world.
E1 - Thanks. Wait a sec - plushies?! I wish…
*The Kenshin - gumi enter through a window* FINALLY got in…
E1 and Kakashi - O.O;;;
No Dice
Chapter 2 - Deuces
Kakashi was starting to catch up to Naruto, and could easily spot him in his bright orange outfit. `He's gonna get hurt.' Then, just like it was fate, he watched as Naruto plowed into a person walking on the sidewalk. `Oh, man…' He ran over and pulled Naruto up. *@_@* "Naruto, what were you thinking?" Then he looked down.
She was sprawled out facedown on the pavement, and her face was pretty raw, as were her arms from what he could see. He dropped Naruto in the street *>.<* and picked her up, bridal - style. Then he stooped down (I don't know how this is possible) and slung Naruto over his shoulder and started out for the Hokage's office before the steadily growing crowd could lay into Naruto. Kakashi wondered where she was from. `She is different from anybody I've ever seen. Could she be from a village that doesn't have ninja? Maybe I should let the Hokage puzzle it out.' Kakashi adjusted Naruto, who was slipping off his shoulder, then decided to deposit him at his house. Kakashi arrived, and leaned him up inside the door. Naruto was still out. His lightbulb had been turned off. (heehee ^^^^^^) Kakashi then picked up the woman again and *poofed* to the Hokage's office. (dunno why he didn't do it earlier…)
When he arrived, he knocked on the door quickly *knock* *knock* *knock*. The door slid open and he stepped inside. The Hokage's back was turned to him, but he seemed to know what happened. "Put her on the futon (the couch that folds out to a bed). I'll notify the doctor." Kakashi nodded and did as he was told. After he laid her on the futon, he finally got a good look at her. Even though her face was raw from its harsh meeting with the ground, he could tell she was beautiful. His gaze ran over brutalized face, from her chestnut hair with blonde highlights, over slim eyebrows and dark lashes curled against her cheeks, to her lips, then over her chin. He blinked. Her lashes fluttered slightly, drawing his attention. Ever so slowly her eyes opened. He found himself staring into dark green eyes, clear as a bell, with just a hint of blue. He blinked again, fascinated. He heard footsteps, and turned his head to the door. When he looked back, her eyes were closed again. Then the Hokage walked in with the doctor. He stod up, and reluctantly stepped to the side.
After being knocked to the ground rather brutally, and blacking out, Enoki had the wonderful sensation of being carried in strong arms, and turned her head slightly to the side, towards warmth. She hadn't noticed until now that she was very cold. She then realized that they had stopped moving. She felt herself being laid down, and felt every bruise on her body ache in protest. Oh, man. Wipeout. This reminds me of the old days, playin' Rugby at school. Been awhile. She heard voices, but couldn't make out what they were saying. She slowly opened her eyes, and stared into the masked face of a man. She focused on the one eye she could see, the most tranquil celtic blue she had ever seen. E blinked, then turned his head to the door. Her eyes ran over his hair, contemplating the fact that the silver mass was currently defying gravity and leaning towards his left. He also had a metal plate over his forehead and over one eye, and a thick mask covered the rest of his face. Her face was really starting to hurt, and her body was aching like a bad tooth. She closed her eyes, and heard the door open. She felt more than heard the man next to her move aside, and she realized she didn't want him to leave. Then darkness overtook her.
The first thing she noticed was that her face and body protested every movement. Even breathing hurt. The second thing she noticed was that she was on something very soft, and comfortable. Much more comfortable than what she was laying on before. She sighed. Slowly her eyes opened and she realized it was day. Wow. This is by far the longest day ever. How long have I been out? She slowly sat up and put a hand to her face. "Ow." She got out of the bed and walked to a full length mirror that was hanging on the wall. "Oh, jeez. Double ow." Her face was a little raw on one side, with a few butterfly bandages and a couple of patches. She glanced at her arms and saw that they were bandaged as well. "Gawd, what happened?" She felt a twinge in her back, then remembered. "Oh, yeah. I was walkin' down the street when I got bowled over by some kid." She stalked over, feeling better already, when she stopped. "Wait a sec. Something's off." She surveyed her surroundings, and realized she was in a bedroom, obviously belonging to a man. Plants were on the windowsill, and volumes of books haphazardly littered the bookshelf. It was clean, by guy standards, but could use some organizing. A bowl and ohashi sat on the nightstand, and clothes were strewn about. She smirked, thinking that it felt comfortable and well-used. Kinda like home… She heard footsteps, and turned to see the door open and a young girl with pink hair walk in. Seeing which time period Enoki came from, the pink hair didn't even faze her. The girl looked at her and smiled.
"Hi. Um, my name's Sakura. Here, I brought some clothes for you. I didn't know your size, so…" she rambled, slowly approaching Enoki.
Enoki smiled at the girl. "Thanks. I really needed that." Her voice was smooth, with the faintest accent. Sakura had never heard a voice like that before.
Sakura handed her the clothes, then stepped back. "Okay. Well, if you need anything, I'll be downstairs."
Enoki nodded. "Hey, thanks again." Sakura stepped out and shut the door.
Enoki changed, and instantly felt better. Putting her duster back on (a duster's a really long jacket that reaches to your ankles), she stepped out of the bedroom and wandered down the hall. Going down the stairs, she looked at all the pictures and things on the wall. It was conservative, but not too much so. She reached the livingroom, and looked in. Her eyebrows raised. There were two kids wrestling over the last bowl of ramen, with Sakura giggling off to the side. Enoki walked up and pulled them apart by the collar. The blonde and blue-eyed boy glared at the other boy and folded his arms. The raven haired and onyx-eyed boy glared at the blonde and folded his arms as well. Enoki sighed. "Well, boys, who's winnin'?" Both looked at Enoki, confusion in one's eyes and guilty recognition in the other's. She put them down, and Sakura stepped up.
"Sasuke, Naruto, this is…uh…"She stuttered and stopped, looking at the woman for an answer.
"Enoki."
"Yeah, Enoki. Enoki, this is Sasuke" she pointed to the black haired boy, "and that is Naruto." She pointed to the blonde. Enoki looked at Naruto.
"You're the one who ran into me, huh?"
He scuffed his shoe. "Yeah. Sorry."
Enoki grinned at him. "Hey, it's cool. No worries. I've been nailed harder by my friend's brothers."
He looked up. "Really?"
"Yep."
Sakura spoke up. "Well, Kakashi-sensei will be here soon, so what should we do till he gets here?"
Sasuke rolled his eyes. "What makes you think he'll be on time?"
Sakura hesitated. "Oh, right. Never mind, then. But what can we do, though?"
"Why don't you tell me about this place and yourselves?"
They all looked at Enoki. She raised her eyebrows. "What?"
Sasuke shrugged. "Why not? We've got time."
Naruto butted in. "Yeah! Yeah! Hey! I'm gonna be the next Hokage!"
Enoki - O.o
Sakura - T_T
Sasuke - ~.~*
"Ooookaay, then. Um, what about you?" Enoki said, gesturing towards Sasuke.
He glared. "I don't talk about me."
Enoki nodded. "It's cool. What about you? What's your story?" She said, pointing towards Sakura.
Sakura stammered. "Uh, well, uh…There's not really much to say…" She glanced at Sasuke and blushed.
Enoki nodded thoughtfully. I see how it is with these three. Now about everything else… She sat down cross-legged on the floor. "So. Why not tell me about this place?"
Hey there. Sorry it takes me so long to update. Lotsa stuffs going on, really really busy. Yeah, I know people are a little ooc tight now, but I'm hoping to change that. Better start on the next chapter while the getting's good. Don't forget to review, kay? Ciao 4 naow.
