Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Not a Fairy-Tale ❯ Not a Fairy-Tale ( One-Shot )

[ A - All Readers ]
Ok! This is for my good friend, Carmen, who requested a SakuLee one-shot. So, you’d better be happy! It was all I could do not to just kill her off! But…Here it is! It’s probably my first completely pure fic EVER, and no warnings! Woot! Be proud of me!
Erm…There’s no set time. It’s very random. It takes place before shippuden, though. And if you don’t know what the Sakura Festival is, you’re stupid. It’s a Japanese holiday that takes place in the spring, cuz of the cherry blossoms, and has nothing to do with Sakura. And when I say that Sasuke will notice her, I mean in a loving way. He’s already on her team…Well, her genin team. Yup…And remember, reviews r my happy crack!

Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto. If I did, Sakura and Ino would be dead, and Itachi and Sasuke would be a canon couple. But Kishimoto-Sensei-who atually does own it-doesn't ike that idea...He's a meanie!

Not a Fairy Tale
By Emma, A.K.A. FrEaKiSh

Once upon a time, a beautiful princess lay in wait for her handsome price to come for her, and ask her hand in marriage. She was sure he would come-she had countless men falling at her feet already; obviously the fruit of her many hours and energy spent on her looks. If all those men loved her, why not him? So, she would wait for him, faithfully.
Sakura sat primly on the bench near the park, watching Sasuke eat his lunch. Her cotton-candy pink hair shone, fluttering lightly in the barely-present breeze. Today would be that day Sasuke-her handsome prince-noticed her!
I mean, why wouldn’t he notice her? She was pretty-much prettier than that Ino-pig-and boys were already noticing her. Naruto was constantly fawning over her, and Lee was completely smitten. So, why not Sasuke? He would notice her-She was sure of it.
As time passed, and the prince still failed to show his face, the princess remained hopeful, and refused to give up. She thoughtlessly turned down her many suitors, convinced her prince was on the way for her.
A half-hour and Sasuke stood to leave, finished with his meal. Sakura braced her jaw. He was going to turn around and notice her! He was!
“Hey, Sakura! How’d you like to go with me for some ramen later?” Naruto popped into view.
“Shut up, Naruto! Can’t you see Sasuke is coming for me?” She snapped, craning her neck to keep Sasuke in sight.
“Ok…What-ever you say…” Naruto sighed, walking away.
As time passed, all of the princesses friend had settled down and married, but she still held out for her prince. But as faithful as she was, she couldn’t help but have her hope dwindle.
“Sakura, come on! Just settle down with some-one. Sasuke’s hopeless.” Said Tenten, who had been with Neji for a month or so.
“Yeah. Just give up. Why would he like you?” Ino sneered as she pulled on Shikamaru’s arm possessively.
“W-why don’t you just date Lee, or something. He’s v-very nice.” Said Hinata quietly, who had recently found her happiness with Naruto.
“No way! I’ll get Sasuke!” She said, remaining stubborn. Sasuke would love her!…Wouldn’t he?
One day, the princess had finally given up hope, and was going to marry one of her suitors, but she received a great surprise. Her prince had finally come! He had been away, planning their wedding all along! The princess fell into his arms, and he vowed to be by her side forever more. Soon, they were married, and lived happily ever after.
“Sasuke, I was wondering…if you had a date to the Sakura Festival?” Sakura smiled hopefully, her green eyes bright.
“No. And I won’t go with you, either.” He said, crushing her hopes.
“B-but-”
“Sakura, I don’t like you. And I really wish you would just get over it and focus on something else.”
“Oh…Ok, then.” The light died from her eyes, and her voice grew nearly inaudible.
“I’ll see you later.” Sasuke walked off, leaving Sakura by her lonesome, tears clouding her vision.
“Sakura?” She turned her head to face Konoha’s Handsome Blue Beast, Rock Lee.
“Oh…Hi, Lee.” She said, barely concealing a sob.
“I couldn’t help but over-hear.” Sakura winced. He had heard that? “And I just wanted to say that he doesn’t know what he’s missing. You’re a great girl, and Sasuke would be lucky to have you. Don’t pay any attention to a guy like him. He’s not worth your time.” He declared, a look of utmost seriousness on his face.
Sakura smiled. “Thanks, Lee.”
He grinned back at her. “And if you’d like, I’d take you to the Sakura Festival.”
“You know what? I think I will.” Lee jumped for joy, ecstatic that he was going on a date with Sakura, the girl of his dreams.
“YES!I HAVE A DATE WITH SAKURA!!!” Sakura couldn’t help but giggle at his out-burst.
Ok, so he wasn’t blessed with Sasuke’s good looks and I’m-So-Cool-I-Don’t-Have-To-Care attitude. Maybe he wasn’t her handsome prince. Maybe he was better.
