Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ nothing bout a highschool girl ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

A young girl rushed down the halls of her school. Her shoes making a soft patting noise as she stepped onto the white tile then pushed off the ground sprinting from foot to foot as she tried to go as fast as she could without getting caught by a teacher. She breathed in deeply, her chest raising and decreasing as she turned the halls. Her bright pink hair whipped back and forth as she ran down the halls. Her sneakers padding against the ground. Her bright green eyes glanced around, right and left. She turned another corner, slamming into a student. She toppled ontop of the kid gasping slightly at her clumsiness. "Gomen Nasai!"
She practically screeched standing up and helping the poor boy up.
"Gomen nasai! I'm really sorry! I'm sort of in a rush if you haven't notice." She said letting out a nervous laugh, "You aren't hurt are you?" She questioned once more.
The boy simply shook his head no.
"No, I'm okay, but what are you rushing for?" He asked dusting his navy blue jeans off and looking at the girl in front of him, waiting for his answer.
The girl smiled lightly, glad that the boy wasn't injured for her stupidity for running in the halls.
“I-I'm in the talent show with my friend! I'm running kind of late as you can tell. I'm off! Gomen once again for running into you!” She yelled waving him off as she began to run down the halls of her school.
Everything seemed like one big sky blue blur, the sky blue blur came from the walls being painted that kind of color.
Rushing into the auditorium, she sprinted towards the back stage. Holding two bags in her hands, running behind the stage she came to a complete stop. Panting for air from running all the way across the school. She wasn't the athletic type, but she was far from out of shape, it was the school's fault. For being so damn large. She wouldn't have had to go up three flights of stairs to grab their things for their talent show then go all the way back down three flights of stairs and run across the school. She didn't complain though, once she heard her name, she lifted her head up, her bright green eyes focusing on the girl who jogged over to her. The girl had blond hair with sky blue eyes. Matching the walls of the school, they kind of got the color off her eyes. Well that's what the pink haired girl always thought. Her friend's eyes were like none others. Completely her own, she was unique thanks to the eyes. Well, the blond haired girl would have been unique anyway, blue eyes or not,
“Sakura! You made it! We have five minutes to get ready! Come on!” She said motioning the pink haired girl to follow.
“I'm coming Ino!” The pink haired girl seemed to exhaust out as she walked over to her friend, handing her a white plastic bag. The blond haired girl's name was none other then Yamanaka Ino, she was known as being prom queen for two years in a row. Her blue eyes and sparking personality seemed to catch every guys eye. She had the beauty of a goddess. Unlike the pink haired girl, who was more quiet then outgoing, smarter then prettier. Though, there was no denying that the pink haired girl was pretty, it was just, she never saw herself as pretty, so never gave herself a make over, or anything.
The pink haired girls name was Haruno Sakura. She had the prettiest green eyes you could ever imagine, her personality was very outgoing with friends, but quite shy with boys, unless she knew them. She was beautiful, more then you could ever picture or imagine, her bright pink hair went down to her mid-back. She usually wore a hair band or ribbon in her hair to keep her hair out of her face. She was teased when she was younger, maybe around five or six, until Ino came along and helped her become stronger. She was very intelligent, probably the highest in the school. No-one dared call her a nerd, because she was friends with some tough people that would beat the living heck out of anyone who dared to call her a name. She felt safe knowing her friends were always by her side.
Awakened from her thoughts by her best friend calling her.
“Sakura hurry up and change! We're up next! You always seem to daze out.” Ino said, shaking her head slightly before pushing her friend into the dressing room with her outfit.
Sakura sighed slightly, taking the outfit out of the plastic bag, Ino had bought it for her at the store. It was quite revealing, just like Ino liked it. She liked revealing things, so assumed Sakura would like them no matter what. Though, Sakura was quite happy hers wasn't as revealing as Ino's was. It was a black denim skirt with a pink tank top with thin straps holding the shirt in place. With black boots that went up to her knees. It was far from something she would ever wear, but she didn't seem to mind at the moment. Walking out Ino quickly grabbed her and began to fix her hair putting the head microphone set on her head and adjusting the speaker thing towards her mouth.
“There!”
Ino seemed to whisper as she fixed her friends pink hair, having her hair placed in a bun with two chop sticks sticking out and a few strands of hair hanging down making it, what Ino had said, `sexier.'
“Put these on.” Ino whispered handing her black fingerless gloves, they weren't made out of leather, more of a cloth material then anything.
“Ino! If we keep putting all this black on we'll be sweating!” She said staring at her friend who had a the same outfit on, except the shirt was bright blue and stopped at her belly button. Unlike Sakura's shirt, her shirt was normal length, covering her stomach.
“Sakura! Ino! You're up!” A lady with black hair and brown eyes said motioning them towards the curtains while scooting everyone out of the way so no-one but the two girls who were singing had the stage.
“You're on in three, two, one!” She said motioning for the people to open the curtains. With one big yank, the maroon colored curtains came flying open. Everything was dark, pitch black. The stage was pitch black.
Sakura could feel her heart pounding, it felt like it was going to rip through her chest, never has she gone in front of the school, the /entire/ school. She glanced over in the darkness to where her friend was standing then looked towards the crowd once more. She could feel her heart pound against her rib cage. As if her rib cage was going to burst and her heart would pound right out of her body. She closed her eyes mentally preparing herself for all the people watching. Oh word, what did she get herself into! A beating of drums came in the background, along with another eery music. Signaling the song was about to start. She had took a slow deep breath making sure that she didn't breath onto the microphone.
Everybody wants me to be their angel”
The words seemed to escape her lips at exactly the right time. A black light from the top of the stage began to go around the crowd. They all awed but still kept quiet looking towards the pitch black stage before them. Then Ino had the next line,
Everybody wants something they can cradle”
Ino sang back, as if having a contest between the two. It wasn't a contest in either of their minds, its how they knew to make sure they were the best, whenever they did something together, they acted like rivals, to make sure they were on their toes and at their peek of expertise or, whatever you would like to call it. By now, the music began to pick up in pace. Sakura had the next line. It wasn't a word, but whatever.
Ooooh”
She said as the voice came soothing, it was short, but a sweet one, sort of high pitched, how they wanted it to be. They worked their butts off to make this perfect, they weren't going to all of the sudden change it. Ino sang out, by now the music fully came on.
They don't know I burn
They don't know I burn
They don't know I burn
They don't know I burn”
Ino's was a repeated sentence. The verse where they sang together, was now coming on. The lights on the stage flicked on. Sakura put out one of her hands twisting it one way then bringing it into the air and down her face as she began to sing with Ino; (Ino's will be in Italic bold, while Sakura's is just in bold)
Maybe there's a Devil (or something like it)
Inside
Maybe there's a Devil (or something like it)
Inside of me
Devil (or something like it)
Inside
Maybe there's a devil
Somewhere really deep inside me”
This time, Ino was the one to be singing the full verse instead of just one part. She smiled looking towards her friend, as they began to dance to the song. In complete rhythm, beat, and pace. Their movements were as graceful as a swan. Movements in exact beat, timing, everything was perfect as Ino had her chance to sing.
Devil ... inside of me
Jealous angel ... deep inside me
You don't know 'cause you're too busy reading labels
You're missing all the action underneath my table”
Sakura smiled at her friend as they walked towards each other. Placing their hands out about to touch before throwing their heads back and leaning all the way back. With one swift movement, they had managed to place their hands on the ground near their head firmly flipping themselves over. Once more, it was Sakura's turn to sing. This time, Sakura had the repeated verse just like Ino did in the beginning.
I'm waiting for my turn
I'm waiting for my turn
Just waiting for my turn
Just waiting for my turn”
Both of them turned around, their backs facing the crowd, as the lights began to flicker on and off at an alarming rate. Just like they had practiced, their movements seemed slow, due to the flashing lights as they did graceful movements.
Maybe there's a devil (or something like it)
Inside
Maybe there's a devil (or something like it)
Inside of me
Devil (or something like it)inside
Maybe there's a
Devil somewhere really deep inside me”
They both sang with all they had, versing each other. While the lights flickered on and off, it wasn't the black light that was flicking, it was more of a silver color. Making the whole stage seem amazing. They did flips without hands, astounding stuff that really no-one had seen during the talent show ever before.
Devil ... inside of me
Jealous angel deep inside me
Ooooooohhoooooohhooooo
Until they make it burn
This is how I burn
Maybe there's a Devil (or something like it)
Inside
Maybe there's a Devil (or something like it)
Inside of me
Devil (or something like it)inside
Maybe there's a devil
Somewhere really deep inside me
Devil ... inside of me
Jealous angel ... deep inside me”
As the song slowly ended, they both slowed their movements, their hands twisting and turning in the air before they came right beside each other, once the last beat came, both there heads just dropped looking towards the ground, their hair falling over their shoulders. The lights stopped flicking on and off and slowly turned back on, the silver light shining on them. People stared in awe at what they had just seen, finally, thousands of claps, whistles, encores, just encouraging stuff coming from every single person in the stadium. Finally, they lifted their heads up, to bow their bodies down. Then back up, both of them smiled happily. They did it, and what an experience it was! Sakura couldn't feel any happier. She looked at her best friend and grinned, with so much excitement built in her body from the exasperating talent they had just shown to the whole school. Both of them waved before filing off the stage. The claps still continued for what seemed like an eternity. The two girls had taken off the head set microphones and their hands were clasped together as they squealed happily, jumping from foot to foot as if they were stepping on something burning hot.
“We did it!” Ino exclaimed happily looking at Sakura who eagerly agreed.
A raven haired boy sat by his classmates as he watched the talent show commence, he was shocked by the two girls performance! He had never seen anything like it out of every talent every year. He clapped along with everyone, and laughed slightly as his friends stood up cheering and wanting an encore. He shook his head laughing slightly and clapping. Finally he let out a loud whistle that seemed to mock all the other whistles in the entire auditorium, his friends looked at him. His extremely dark brown eyes, seeming to give off the appearance that they were blacked, you had to go directly up to the face and focus to see the brown tint to it, though, his eyes seemed black. It was far from scary, more attractive like then anything else. His friends urged him to whistle once more. Finally he nodded, agreeing and let out another loud whistle, getting the students more wild after calming down just a tiny bit. He laughed at his friends who began to act like they were dancing.
“Come on Sasuke!” One of his friends urged him. He shook his head slightly letting his friends dance away until the teachers came to try and calm everyone down. This was indeed the boy they called Sasuke, his full name was Uchiha Sasuke, one of the most popular, or rather `hottest' guys in school, every girl chases after him. Though, he never really seemed to notice, he wasn't the one to be snotty all that much. He respected people and tried to keep that in mind that everyone was considered a `person' only harder for him to maintain his cool. He was known for his constant calmness, well for the boys that's what they thought of him, calm and collected, the girls thought of him as `sexy' and `hott' Which made him laugh at the thought.
Sakura smiled at her reflection in the mirror as she placed her normal clothes on. She was happy being in her regular outfit, the other one was a bit to tight for her liking. She walked out of the dressing room and looked at her friend Ino and sat beside her. The rest of the day, she was hoping would be just as awesome as the performance they put on.
“Sakura! Sakura! Snap out of it! Class is over!” Ino yelled into the pink haired girls ear.
“Jeez, ever since the talent show you've been dazing out more then usual!” The blond said placing her hands on her hips. Sakura looked up,
“Oh? Sorry, I'm just thinking is all.”
Ino simply shook her head and walked around the maze of desks and out of the class. Sakura grabbed her folders and books walking out of the class and towards the second floor. Walking down the gray steps of the stair case she spotted the boy she walked into earlier. She didn't say anything though, but was surprised when he looked at her,
“Nice talent.” He said smirking slightly.
Sakura felt embarrassed, a light blush appeared on her face as her pace quickened as she walked down the stairs. Why in seven hells was she blushing! It hit her like a slap in the face quite a few times. She had been nice to him! Of all people! She apologized eight-five times and blushed when he said nice talent! Where the hell has her mind been this entire day! He's the same kid that in her second grade got her hair stuck to the pole using three things of chewed gum! She had to cut her hair to not even her mid-neck! Higher then that! A low curse escaped her lips as she glared, then is faded after a few seconds, it was no use now, Monday she would have to make up for being nice by doing something evil to him. She'd most likely ask Ino, the expert at revenge. Walking down the stairs she sighed slightly, seeing the hallway already empty, it was Friday, so of course everyone rushed out of the school to have their weekend begin. Slowly walking over to her top locker, she twisted and turned the small black lock onto the right numbers, pulling the lock down, she took it off and opened her locker and began to put her books into her gray locker quietly. Grabbing her small red backpack she dropped it by her feet and then slammed the locker closed placing the lock back in place then with one flick of her wrist, she twisted the lock onto a different number and began to walk. Her sneakers made a high pitched squeak noise seeing as she dragged her feet. Her pink hair slowly fell over her shoulders and into her face slightly. She heard a pair of footsteps on the third story, figured a few kids got in trouble and had to clean the entire third floor. Lucky they didn't have to clean the entire school floor in every class too. Sakura smiled faintly at the memory of getting in trouble with the principal and having to do the entire school and make it shine. They wrote on the chalk boards and scribbled all over them for the teachers the next day to erase. She laughed slightly before realizing she was already on the first floor and only a hallway away towards the exit. She smiled lightly, the thought of being home and homework free was awesome. She heard something, it sounded like water spilling..As she kept hearing it, she walked faster until she turned the corner. Petrified at what she was seeing, her body refused to move, her hands clutched the strap of her backpack.
Chapter 2: Nights of Horror
There, only about a good 15 yards away from her, was a man with a knife, a sadistic smile on his face as he held the man cop who was dead by being slit in the throat, his arms off. Her body panicked, adrenalin filling every single part of her body, with that, she turned back down the hall and began to run like never before. She jumped practically up every four steps until she reached the second story, with that she ran down the hall. Tears ran down her face, the things she had just seen, filled every thought that could ever go into her head. She turned the corner and ran into a classroom shutting the door closed and shakily locking the door, dropping her backpack she backed away as she heard the loud curse coming from the man she had seen and ran from. Turning around, she spotted that damned boy she hated staring at her like she had gone hysterical. Raising an eyebrow he stared at her,
“What's with you?” He asked.
Sakura had no time to be mad,
“A-guy-cop-dead.” She couldn't even talk right, her words sounded like sobs, which they mostly were. She fell to her knees and buried her face into her hands. She heard the glass shatter from the window for the door, a hysterical laughter from that man. She let out a petrified scream before her mouth was covered by the boy she so much hated. Though her words didn't make to much sense, those four words were plenty for him to understand. He slowly walked over towards the door and stood up beside the wall flat, keeping the pink haired girl quiet, his hand covering her mouth. He pressed her up against him to make sure she wouldn't be seen right when the man walked in. Once the door was forced open, the guy walked in. Sasuke taking his chances quickly shoved Sakura out the door and kicked the man before running out and shutting the door behind him. It wouldn't stay closed, but it gave them a few seconds head start. As he dashed over to the pink haired girl who was halfway down the hall, and waiting for him. She grabbed him before he ran down stairs,
“He locked put the entire first floor on lock down, all windows are sealed off and the door is locked tightly. Even if we jump from the second story we'll be crushed, we can't escape! We're gonna die!”
She practically yelped out, though, the boy once more covered her mouth,
“We're not gonna die Sakura, just please keep calm! Panicking is not making anything better!”
Sakura glared, biting his hand so he let go,
“How can I be calm after I saw the cop slaughtered!”
She yelled before the lights in the whole entire school flickered out.
“A power outage.” She muttered to herself.
Sasuke knew the man probably had turned the entire power off, seeing as it usually took about ten minutes to completely shut down, giving him time to kill everyone who stopped him then search the school..He couldn't tell Sakura that though, she would go hysterical and commit suicide. He grabbed the girls wrist and yanked her down another hall and into another classroom locking the door after shutting it silently. He looked over at Sakura who smiled lightly,
“Are we gonna die?”
Sasuke was shocked at her, she had gone from hysterical to calm in seconds, a record for all the times he got her angry then happy. He stared at her,
“No, we're not?”
Sakura looked out the window, she smiled lightly,
“If we do, I want you to know I still hate you for sticking my hair to a pole with chewed gum.”
Sasuke twitched, after all these years she still hasn't forgotten about that, though he was very worried, he had to learn about girls hormones in health class, oh why they taught them that was beyond his understanding. Though it was beginning to be useful now. He could tell by how calm she was, that she was going to do something drastic, something to get rid of herself without having to see that man. He learned their emotions were more sensitive then guys, well, he knew that from the beginning, but there were some pretty nasty girls who didn't seem to care about crap. He heard the door being banged on,
“Sakura! Come on!”
Sakura turned towards him, but didn't say anything. She was very calm, and it was staring to scare even him. He went to grab her but the door burst open and the man walked in laughing. Sakura stared at him then what shocked her was that Sasuke stood in front of her.
“Sasuke?”
He didn't say anything but glared at the man, who held his knife up high and went to go jam it into Sasuke's shoulder without a word. Sakura quickly shoved Sasuke out of the way and felt the knife jam straight into the top of her shoulder, going into the muscle and straight into the bone. She cried out falling to her knees. Once he pulled the knife out she placed her hand on the wound, not being able to move her other arm. With that, she kicked him in a sensitive area as hard as she could, then quickly moved away and grabbed Sasuke and dashed out of the room and towards the third story. It was weird that the nurses office would be on the third floor, she never really cared to ask though. Once up there she quietly closed the door to the nurses office and locked it closed, luckily there was no window on the door, just a window out of the third story.
“Sakura! Why did you do that!”
Sakura looked at him, fishing through the cabinets and drawers until she found some bandages.
“I don't want you to think I can't handle myself! Bastard.” She muttered.
Sasuke stared at her though,
“I know you can handle yourself...”
A light blush appeared on his face as he looked away,
“I just thought it was right to protect you..”
Sakura looked at Sasuke, she felt a light blush appeared on her face until-
“Its only right that a guy saves the girl in distress!”
Sakura twitched, he just had to ruin the moment, now she knew why she hated him so much. The stuck up jerk wad! Oh how she wanted to rip his vocal cords out and make him suffer.
Once more she had gotten lost in her thoughts, but was awoken when Sasuke had taken the bandages from her and told her to lift down the side of her shirt.
“Pervert!”
She retorted glaring, Sasuke twitched,
“I could have asked you to take off your shirt if I was a pervert but I'm not! This is the thanks I get for trying to help you!”
“You weren't trying to help me when I got stuck to the pole now where you?”
Sasuke glared,
“That was over four years ago!”
“SO?” Sakura retorted once more, “You still never apologized! I used to try and bring it up so you would apologize but you would just laugh and say `good times' so of course I haven't forgiven you if you never apologized!”
Sasuke stared at her, she was right, he never apologized, he looked down,
“I'm sorry.”
Sakura stared at him,
“Wha- wait..”
She was completely lost for words, she had never suspected HIM to apologize to HER.
“Now please before your wound gets any worse..”
Sakura obeyed with hesitation, she lifted the side of her shirt down, letting him bandage up the wound on her arm after cleaning it. With that, she lifted her shirt back in its place and sat there as he put all the stuff away and threw the cloths with blood on them away.
“Am I forgiven?”
Sakura looked out the window,
“Took you four years, so I'll have to think about it.”
Sasuke simply laughed slightly before hearing the man.
“What are we going to do! We're stuck in the nurses office!”
Sakura smiled slightly,
“I know..please if we want this done quickly don't object and just do as I tell you..” She said grabbing a knife and opening a fairly large cabinet that was in the wall and about one yard off the ground. She took everything off the shelves,
“Put that somewhere in the closet by the window.” She said pointing to it.
Sasuke went to object, but then just did as he was told.
Sakura knocked one of the shelves out of place and caught it before it fell. She didn't even seem to notice Sasuke was amazed at her strength. He had never figured Sakura of all people to have strength like that. Now wasn't the time for gawking.
“Sasuke! Take this shelf and put holes in the very top of it!” She whispered quickly handing him the knife and shelf doing what he was told to do. Sakura walked over to the cabinet next to the one they were working on, and ripped the cabinet door off its hinges and stored it in the closet as Sasuke stared at her like she had gone crazy.
“Don't worry! If this works out we'll be saved!” She whispered.
Sasuke nodded and put about twenty small holes into the top of the shelf and cleaned it off so it was barely noticeable. Sakura was working with something on the hinges, he had never expected her to be strong or know anything about mechanism, or building things. With that he looked at her,
“Rip the very top shelf off and put all the things in the other closet and glue the two shelves together, one at the end of it like a wall.”
Sasuke nodded, doing as he was told as she cleaned out what was left with the cabinet she made sure the holes were big enough before helping Sasuke with what she had told him to do. After that she grabbed the knife, and began making small things to put their hands in to pull it. Finally when she finished she took the told Sasuke to grab two water bottles from the fridge and put them into the cabinet, that cabinet was pretty tall and large. You couldn't touch the back of it unless you were standing on something and reaching back towards it, and it stood to the ceiling which was pretty tall. She let Sasuke get in first then opened the window, she would tell Sasuke what the window was for later, and climbed in holding onto the two shelves they glued one on top of the other so it was as tall as the cabinet its self, maybe about a millimeter larger. It worked perfectly, she climbed in and where she had put little small hand type things, she pulled it and forced it into place where the cabinet door would close over. They had found some white out and covered the crease of where they had glued the two together. So it fit snug in its place. Pulling with one more force, she managed to squeeze the two shelves in making it look like a wall from the outside. She heard the small pat of the cabinet hitting the shelf they just put up to look like a wall. She closed her eyes breathing very, very slowly and quietly as did Sasuke who sat right beside her the two water bottles in front of them, he still didn't understand it completely, but was getting it, they put the shelves stacked ontop of each other and glued them together to look like the wall, and she worked on the hinges of the cabinet to make it a cabinet that can close both ways. So it looked like it was left open, the two shelves filled the space of where they ripped the first cabinet door off. So it was like a wall, she was extremely smart to figure that out in a small amount of time.
After about ten minutes of hearing cursing then a shout of them committing suicide by jumping out the window, he left the room with the door slamming closed behind him out of anger. Sasuke looked at Sakura, it was a bit dark, but his eyes adjusted to the darkness,
“You did it! We're saved!”
Sakura smiled lightly, and looked towards the tall top of the cabinet,
“Yeah, the nurse knows her office head from toe and tomorrow will rip it down and we'll be fine because we have water and air holes at the top of the wall. We should stay in here because he might come back in here..”
Sasuke nodded looking towards the two shelves they built as a wall.
“You're forgiven too..”
He heard her whisper, he smiled slightly then blushed as she rested her head on his shoulder closing her eyes.
“I'm sorry..I'm just really tired..” She whispered to him.
Sasuke shook his head.
“It's fine..”
Sakura smiled lightly and began to drift to sleep. She felt Sasuke shift and opened her eyes slightly, it was pretty dark, so she couldn't really tell what he was doing. Before she knew it, she was sitting between his legs that were stretched out, her head resting on his chest as his arms wrapped around her waist protectively.
“What are you doing?” She whispered, glad it was dark seeing as her face would be cherry red.
Sasuke smiled some,
“Making it more comfortable..”
Sakura smiled lightly resting her head on his chest gently, she felt his hand lift her chin up. She blinked and before she knew it, his lips brushed against hers.
“I never really had the guts to say this..but I guess now would be a better time then any..”
He whispered smiling some,
“I love you...I always have..I always picked on you because..I guess its just a way of showing things I can't express..”
Sakura smiled lightly, her feelings for him changed so suddenly, now he didn't seem like that jerk she had said about an two hours before. She blushed once more as he kissed her again. When he pulled back, she smiled lightly.
“I-I love you too..”
She whispered as he smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist gently.
“I'm glad..”
Sakura smiled resting her head on his chest and closed her eyes beginning to fall asleep, feeling safer then she ever had in her life...
The next day, the nurse had taken down what they had put up and found the two missing students. The man was arrested for murder. Sakura was taken to the hospital to have her wound checked and wrapped properly. That whole time, from the drive in the ambulance to the doctor, Sasuke never left her side, and held her hand the entire time..
