To proud to let someone help you rest

So you take it like the man you are (though you don't look it)

Oh White Snake lie down for once; close those golden eyes and sleep

Die if it's what it takes but rest is so easy

So why do you fail at it?

I take pride in your strength

Though we've never met

I want to take care of you

To feed you your soup

And give you your meds

But since I can't

At least rest on the clouds for me

Let them raise you above your plans

So you can sleep a little

The winkles never came

But that doesn't mean you're young

Changing that body must be taxing

So lay for awhile in a sea of sleep

And don't wake up till you feel better

Those wounds must hurt

But you'd never tell anyone

Holding it in till you feel you could burst

Covering pain with pain

An old snake needs to recover

Take that month

And don't bother getting up.
