“How much further?” Takeshi asked, feeling more and more exhausted. “Just a bit more… Hang in there, Takeshi.” Kasumi said to him. The four of them had been walking since dawn, and it must be the afternoon now. “Can't we take a rest?” Aki asked. Kasumi simply shook her head. “Nope. Just a little bit more…”

“Kasumi-sensei… you said that hours ago. Are you sure you can read that map?” Aki asked. “Of course. If we head north…” she stopped and looked at the map. The other three looked at each other. “Uh… guys… I think we're lost…” Kasumi admitted. Aki flashed his friends an `I-told-you-so' look.

“Give me that map, sensei.” Aki said, grabbing the map from Kasumi's hands. He looked at it intently. The others waited patiently… until they realize that Aki can't read a map either. “Aki! If you can't do that, tell us!” Yuki snatched the map and gave it to Takeshi. “We missed a corner a few miles from here.” Takeshi explained.

“A few miles?!” Kasumi almost shouted. “We're taking a rest.” She added. “Finally…” Aki muttered. Yuki took out food and water from her backpack. She handed the food to each of them.

“Don't you remember how to go to Konoha Village, Yuki? I mean, you used to live there, right?” Takeshi asked. “You're expecting me to remember things that happened to me six years ago? No, I don't remember how to get there.” Yuki replied. Aki looked at her, surprised.

“Six years? I thought it was just three or two years ago…” Aki said. Yuki looked at him as if he were crazy. Takeshi smiled to himself… he still remembered the events that happened a few months ago, after they graduated. They were fighting too.

“Okay, I'd like you to introduce yourself… starting from you.” Kasumi said, pointing at Takeshi. “I'm Fukusawa Takeshi…” he replied. He was just about to say more but Kasumi already pointed to Aki. “Satou Aki.” Aki said. Finally, it was Yuki's turn. “I'm Makoto Yuki.” Aki smirked. “I'd never thought a girl like you is interested in being a ninja. Aren't girls your age more interested in falling in love?”

“I'm not one of them. Maybe girls my age are more interested in falling in love… but I can assure you that we're serious in being a ninja, too.” Yuki replied. “Yeah, right…” Takeshi expected Kasumi to stop them, but she seemed to be enjoying every single thing about it.

“Well, if it's so hard for you to understand, you can continue being clueless and assume it like that.” Yuki said. “What did you say?” By the tone of Aki's voice, he was probably mad. “Someone who judge people is really clueless… or worst, stupid.” Yuki pointed out. “That's it!”

Aki took out his dagger and charged towards Yuki. Takeshi thought that Aki was winning, but they were moving so fast it was hard to say. The last part of the fighting was a bit blurry. The next thing he knew, Aki's dagger had somehow ended on Yuki's hand and Yuki was pointing the dagger at Aki's throat.

“Okay, that's enough.” Kasumi finally stopped them. “Serves you right…” Aki heard Yuki mutter. He blushed in embarrassment. “For your information, I already know your abilities without you showing them to me. But I must say, I really enjoyed that.” Kasumi said, smiling at them.

Kasumi asked them to spend the first few days knowing each other. Aki might be hot-tempered, but he's nice. Takeshi's a bit shy and always talks about weird things, but he gets along well with them. Yuki seemed cold at first, but actually she's really friendly and fun to be with. She's also quite different from other girls, because she doesn't seem interested in anything girls would like.

“Hey, Takeshi. Are you in another world?” Aki snapped Takeshi out of his thoughts. “What?” Takeshi asked. “We're going now. Are you alright?” Yuki asked. “Sure. Sorry… I was thinking about things a while ago.” Takeshi replied. “No problem. You're reading the map this time, so don't get messed up.” Yuki said. “No problem.”
