A boat was coming onto shore, its black sails billowing in the wind; almost like it was dancing. Gaara just sat and watched them, his piercing ice blue eyes staring blankly. His thoughts were else where. His face mixing with stoic, cold emotions that no one, not even his siblings could read.

Ever since they found him, his form delicate and destroyed, in the midst of a sand storm, his emotions had gone. They knew why, it took them forever to coax it out of him, but they found out why. It was her. It was as simple as that, it was her, Keiko. What about her, they did not know. That was for them to find out.

“We will be in Konoha in a couple of hours at the most,” Temari said walk to Gaara's motionless form. “You know that she will be different from those many years ago.” Gaara didn't do anything in response. Temari sighed and took Gaara's hand. “It might take a while to find her as well.”

“I've lived 2 years hoping to find her in Konoha, a couple of days won't make a difference as long as we find her.” He whispered darkly, his head bowing down so his eyes could glare into the dim light they had on the ship. Temari gulped, taking her hand away from his, nodding and leaving Gaara to his thoughts.

Kankuro came out with a smile. “I have sailed the world, beheld its wonders, from the Dardanelles to the Mountains of The hidden Mist, but there's no place like Konoha!” Kankuro laughed and looked at Temari with a silly grin splashed on his face.

“No there's no place like Konoha is there?” Gaara spat looking at his elder brother in disgust. He snorted and looked ahead to where the boat was heading and he spat into the water in disgust of its blue, happy, colour.

“Gaara…?”

“Life has been kind to you,” He whispered looking at Kankuro, “you will learn.”

Kankuro stared at Gaara; he had never seen Gaara act so spiteful towards any place, especially Konoha. He remembered a time where Konoha meant everything to him. He remembered a time where he looked up to Konoha, Naruto, and …. Keiko.

His eyes averted and realized that, that was the past. This was now and Gaara no longer wanted anything to do with the place where everything was taken from him. He sighed, depressed that his brother had gone through such an awful experience.

He looked at Temari, who equally looked depressed for their brother but there was nothing they could do, except help his search for the one he loved.

Looking back at Gaara it was then that Kankuro realized that Gaara was muttering to himself about something, but he ended up catching only the end of it.

“There's a hole in the world like a great black pit and the vermin of the world inhabit it and its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit in it and it goes by the name Konoha.”

“Now Gaara, what happened here? You use to love coming here, what happened?” Temari asked looking at Gaara with pleading eyes. She had never seen her brother like this before and it scared her more than anything. “Konoha can't be all that bad, don't you think you're over exaggerating slightly?”

Gaara continued his mutterings over and over, not listening to his sister who was continually pleading for him to listen to her. “At the top of the hole sit the privileged few, making a mock of the vermin in the lonely zoo, turning beauty into filth and greed.” He then looked at Temari his beautiful ice blue eyes looking, what seemed, right through her. His eyes then darted to Kankuro, “I too have sailed the world and seen its wonders for the cruelty of men is as wondrous as the hidden mist but there's no place like Konoha.” Gaara then stood on his feet and walked to the other side of the boat. His eyes became filled with grief as he continued his story. The story that the siblings where to hear for the first time since they finally found him.

“There was a ninja and his wife, and she was beautiful. A foolish ninja and his wife, she was his reason and his life and she was beautiful, and she was virtuous, and he was naïve. There was another man who saw, that she was beautiful, a biased vulture of the law, who, with a gesture of his claw, removed the husband from his plate, and she would fall so soft, so young, so lost and oh so beautiful.” A tear ran down Gaara's face as he whipped it off. He looked distraught and lost in the thread of continuing thoughts that filled his mind.

“Gaara,” Temari whispered. “What happened, what happened to Keiko?”

“That was many years ago, I doubt if anyone would know.” Gaara whispered. His hands were shaking with grief and anger. He looked at the village ahead of them and whispered to his older brother and sister, “I loved her; she was ripped away from me. I will either have my revenge or her safely back. If you get in the way, you will die.” His voice shook with anger as he made his threat.

Kankuro and Temari nodded, as they left him alone. They went down into the cabin below, allowing Gaara to sit where he was and brood over his thoughts of his lover.

“I wish there was something we could do.”

“You know Gaara, he likes to do things on his own, especially when they involve him and no one else. That's why he was offered the position of Kazekage.” Kankuro said looking Temari knowingly. “At least he took the position, though with Baki - sensei being the substitute Kazekage our village won't stand long if they find out that Gaara's missing.”

Temari nodded, “let's hope Keiko will be easy to find.”

“We can all do nothing but hope.” Kankuro ended. They both sat in silence when they heard above them a yell from one of the sailors.

“LAND HO!”

They were startled for a minute. “I thought they said a couple of hours.”

Kankuro smirked, “they lied didn't they then?”

They both walked up the stairs, opening the door, to see Gaara waiting for them. “We don't have much time,” Gaara whispered. “I don't want to take too long find her. The faster I find her the better anyways. I don't think I can hold Shukaku back if I find the creeper first.”

Both siblings nodded. “Alright should we split up then?” Temari asked looking from Kankuro to Gaara.

“I think that would be best.” Kankuro agreed.

“Alright I'll take north, you take south, I'll take west and my third eye will take east.” Gaara whispered. They all nodded and he stared at them for a bit then glared. “Off with you!” He shouted, jumping up and departing from the rest.

Temari and Kankuro followed suit as they left the boat.

Gaara looked at the street ahead of them, looking back at the boat knowing full well the Kankuro and Temari had already left.

He then stood, his hands moving to no end of speed as a sand eye appeared in front of him. “My friend,” he whispered to it, “you know what to do.” The eye sped away in the opposite direction as Gaara. He watched it go as he continually stood there. He shook his head and whispered softly to himself, “Keiko, where are you I wonder.”

He walked down the street, everybody not really noticing him. He was glad of this. He didn't want any interruptions during his search.

“I should check her home street,” He said to himself as he walked down the streets. He looked around, everybody seemed to happy which didn't help his mood. He wondered how they could be so happy. How on this earth, could they be so happy.

He shook his head. He had to stray away from his thoughts if he were to get anywhere. He looked around and walked up the street. Only stopping for one moment to look at a meat pie shop place.

“Mrs. Lovett's meat pies…” he whispered. He looked up and down the place it was the only place that he had seen so far that looked dingy and unclean. He walked forward but was stopped by a hand that tried to grab him.

His eyes widened as his ultimate defence came into action. He turned around and hit the person with his sand and he glared into the open space. He looked at the powerful ocean, warm, blue eyes. He let out a sigh. “Naruto, you should know not to sneak up on a person.”

“Sorry Gaara,” Naruto chuckled but Gaara stood there emotionless.

“Leave me,” Gaara said as he began to walk away from Naruto.

“Wait!” Naruto yelled as Gaara stopped. “You're looking for Keiko aren't you?” That stopped Gaara in his tracks. His head didn't even look at Naruto as Naruto continued to speak. “I would check down Fleet street everybody says they've been spotting a Meta-morph in there. Gaara nodded and left Naruto alone.

Naruto sighed and looked at Gaara as Gaara sprinted off towards Fleet Street. “I hope he finds her,” he whispered.

Gaara looked upon the street called Fleet Street. It was dingy but all his memories filled his memory of times when he was happy. When he had something, no someone, no her to look forward to when he came home from missions. He remembered a time when he could actually smile, now he had forgotten how.

He walked up to a store called Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pies. He looked at the dingy sign. He sniffed the rotting wood in front of him and flinched at the smell. It was his old house alright. The smell was one of burnt wood with the stench of blood from the Meat Pies.

He took the knob of the door in front of him and with slight hesitation entered the store.
