Chapter 2

 

Sakura aimed a kunai at the rogue, and missed. He leapt away, laughing at their defeat. She turned her attention to Kakashi. He was seriously injured, the blood already soaking through his jounin vest. She had to find the wound. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably and she shivered in from the cold. It would be impossible to heal anything in this kind of temperature. Sakura pulled off his mask and stemmed the blood flow with it. It was soon dripping with hot red liquid. She couldn't carry him anywhere, it was impossible to control chakra when it was so cold. Sakura nearly wept at her pathetic actions, not even being able to help a comrade. She struck a match with shaking hands and started to burn some twigs. It was tiny, but it was something. Wrapping Kakashi in her arms, she began to feed more twigs to the tiny flame until it looked more like a fire. Her partner's breathing was shallow and laboured and the mask soon lost its usefulness. The kunoichi covered the wound with her hand, stopping the blood from flowing out. At least it warmed her up a bit. She didn't know when the next patrol would come. The only thing left was to hope they didn't die before it did come.
