Chapter 2: Rocks
“Eiyuu-kun, come back!”
You didn’t have a hard time back tracking them. Guy and Lee were wounded and didn’t bother with covering their tracks – they probably wanted to lead the ninja to Konoha. They’d be wiped out in moments.
You noticed the kunai that are sticking out of the trees and ground. They seem to lead you to a large pile of rocks. You’re not sure about it, but something wasn’t right about the pile of rocks. You walk over and start digging into the rocks. You should be looking for Tenten, right? Not digging in the dirt doggy style.
“Uh…”
You look up and see a hand sticking out of the pile of rocks. You race over and grab it. “Tenten! Tenten! Don’t worry, I’m here!”
It was her! You start digging for real now. Thank goodness you trusted your instincts.
“I’m have you out in no time, Tenten-chan! Just hold on…”

You pull her out of the gravel. You hate seeing her face so dirty and pained. But at least she’s alive. You turn around and start back towards the village.
“Hey, where do you think you’re going?”
You turn your head. A shinobi stood behind you with his arms folded. He wore a rain ninja headband.
“I’m taking my companion home.” You say.
“Do you love her?” The ninja asked.
You look down at Tenten’s face. All these years of crushing on Tenten… was this something more than a crush? Were you willing to give your life for her? Did you want to spend the rest of your life with her?
“Y – yes.” You say. “Yes! I love her! And I won’t let you hurt her!”
“Oh… it’ll be so much funnier when I kill her then!” The ninja smiled. Suddenly you were surrounded by rain ninja. You tensed up; what to do? Only one option. You place Tenten gently on the ground.
You pull a kunai and shuriken from your pouch.
“Lion’s Roar! Metsubou Kuushuu no Jutsu!”
You throw the weapons into the air. There’s a huge explosion around you – the weapons multiply and rain down on your opponents. It’s your most formidable technique that you rarely get to use.
You snatch Tenten up and blast off into the darkness.

A/N: I’d normally elaborate on the fight, but this isn’t an action series. (Stop it… this isn’t an action series…) It’s like shojo manga, with the super quick n’ cheap fights (if there is any fights…)

You walk into the cave. The entrance was very small and hidden, but the inside was huge. You put Tenten down and start on a fire. When that’s done you gather supplies from outside. Without Tenten in your arms you’re able to sneak around easily. You get water and food.
Tenten is shivering when you get back. You put the supplies aside. Using a scroll you summon a bunch of blankets (hey, it’s incase of emergencies like this ok? Perverts…) You quickly make a bed and place Tenten in the covers.
“Eiyuu-kun…” Tenten whispered.
You blink. She was calling you?
“Eiyuu…”
“Yes, Tenten-chan…?” You say.
“I’m so cold…” She whispered.
You blush. In ninja academy you’re taught many methods to keep warm. One pops into your mind, and you’re unable to remember the rest.
“Uh, ok, Tenten-chan. I’m going to get into the bed with you, ok?”
“Ok…” Tenten whispered.
You crawl over and pull the sheets up. Her little body was shivering, though the bed seemed warm. You get in, never the less. Slowly you scoot closer to her, until your bodies are touching. You breathe in deeply as you pull her closer, against your body.
“How’s that?” You ask when you regain your voice.
“Better.” She said, though she snuggled closer.
I’m in heaven! You think, and then, don’t get a boner, Eiyuu!
“Thank you, Eiyuu… for saving me…” Tenten whispered, knocking you out of your thoughts. “I was so scared… but you saved me. Thank you…”

You feel her coming towards you. Your heart starts to beat faster. It's Tenten, the girl you've had a crush on since ninja academy. You and her were friends and nothing more. And she maybe a girl, but her super female senses couldn't pick up on this crush.

You, who already took a sip, spit it all out. You wipe your mouth. “Naruto-kun!”

Naruto gives you a sly smile. “Sakura and I did it last week.”

“Neji-kun didn't go on the mission with Tenten.”
You finish the can. You crumble it and toss it away. “Oh, really?”

Naruto and you freeze. That wasn't Naruto's voice… you both look around. No one was there. Were you buzzed already? Then the rest of the beer cans disappear.
“Hey!” You cry.
“Hey what?” Kakashi said. He was suddenly standing over you two with the beer cans in his arms. “What do you two think you're doing? You know it's wrong for ninja to drink - they need to be alert at all times. And you're both under age.”
“Kakashi-sensei.” Naruto sighed.
“C'mon. I'm taking you two home.” Kakashi said.
You both stand up. Iruka comes rushing over a few seconds later, though.
“Quickly - Guy and his squad was ambushed. Guy and Lee returned to the village… but Tenten's lost!”
Your heart stops.
“Ok. Let's talk to Tsunade - we can't act without orders.” Kakashi said.
“Tenten…” You whisper. She's out there, all alone, hurt, and who knows what else. “I can't wait around. I have to find her.”
“No. I understand how you feel…” Kakashi says to you, “but we must wait for orders.”
“I…” You can't. Tenten. Tenten… you can't. Tenten's out there somewhere… you can't. “I'm sorry. Please forgive me.” You say as you speed off.
“Eiyuu!” Iruka shouted after you.
Tenten, I'm coming… You think as you flew through the village.

Well, that's before Kakashi sliced him in half with his chidori.

“Not only did you disobey orders, but you both could have gotten killed!” Kakashi yelled at you. Kakashi, Tsunade, Naruto, Iruka, Guy and Lee (who were both tied up in bandages,) Neji, Tenten, and you were standing at the gates of Konoha. You stood besides Tenten while being scolded from Tsunade, Iruka, and Kakashi. “What the hell were you thinking?”
“I was thinking about saving Tenten-chan.” You say. You pull her into a hug. “I wasn't going to let her die out there while I stood around. I'll take any punishment for what I did. But at least Tenten-chan's alive.”
Kakashi was silent, like the others.
“I'm glad you're safe, Tenten-chan.” Neji said. He grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him. “I'm sorry I wasn't able to go out there and save you myself.”
You almost growl at Neji for taking Tenten from you.
“That's ok, Neji-kun.” Tenten smiled. She pried Neji's hands off her wrists and walked back over to you. “I'm ok, so it's all good.”
You wrap your arms around her once again. That's right Neji, you think, she's mine.
“We won't punish you, but don't do it again.” Tsunade said.
“I can't guarantee I won't do it again.” You shrug. “If any of my friends… or lovers…” You squeeze Tenten tightly, “is in a mess, I'll always be there for them. And that includes any shinobi of Konoha. I can't help it - that's just how I am.”
Tsunade chuckled. “Ok. I understand, Eiyuu-kun. I don't like it… but I respect it.”
And with that everyone but you and Tenten walk off. You two stand together, alone, in complete silence. Tenten turned her head and kisses you.
“What was that for?” You ask.
“For saving me.” Tenten said. “You disobeyed direct orders for me…”
“That's because I love you.” You say, and return the kiss. “I'd give my life for you, Tenten-chan. It's more than a crush… I want to… spend the rest of my life with you.”
“Eiyuu…” Tenten whispered. “I love you too.”
“C'mon. Let's go home.” You say. You take her hand gently and lead her into the village.
